Very good, homemade food, super friendly service, and the brain soup was exquisite.

Very, very good, sometimes surprisingly creative Swabian, traditional cuisine with refined international and seasonal highlights. Very busy, therefore very warm. You also sit at tables with other guests, which isn't unpleasant at all. On the contrary, it makes for a pleasant atmosphere! What we didn't like so much, to be honest, was the €2.50 surcharge for choosing a different side dish with the main course. Whether you choose fried potatoes or potato salad instead of fries, or vice versa, shouldn't cost the kitchen and staff much extra time. But we'll still gladly come back and recommend you to others.

A charming little restaurant with fantastic, varied food (Swabian but also innovative) and exceptionally friendly and attentive service. The small dining room is pleasant. Prices are fair. I'd gladly return.

A quiet and friendly atmosphere. The roast beef with onions and fried potatoes was sensational. The game dishes are also highly recommended. To round it off, a small portion of Kaiserschmarrn was perfect. The service was pleasant and friendly. The owner even greeted us at our table – which is sadly rare these days. We will definitely be back!

The meal (veal hearts, soured with fried potatoes from the daily special) was, as always, delicious. The perfect fried potatoes deserve special mention 🤗. Dessert (plum curd dumplings with cinnamon ice cream) rounded off the meal perfectly.

I highly recommend it; very friendly staff. Very cozy atmosphere. The food is homely and very good.👌👌 It's always best to make a reservation, as the space isn't large.

Sitting here is very quaint and nostalgic. There's a small main room and a side room. The menu is very small, but there's also a separate weekly special with three dishes. First, there's a delicious greeting from the kitchen: crispy bread with sea salt and clover butter. Unfortunately, the salad was a bit too sour and the schnitzel was overcooked. You can choose between sauce or ketchup upon request. The price was average. The service was very friendly. The restrooms are clean, but the entrance and interior are not wheelchair accessible.

Just what you need! Delicious, great taste for spices, excellent service. Highly recommended!

Would definitely visit again. Best steak that I have had in a long time. Not a 'cheap eat' but you get what you pay for.

Good Swabian restaurant in a beautiful old town

Yesterday I was enchanted again by the chef's cooking. Quail and lamb were great. The board is very well put together. Thank you! Gladly again.

EXPERIENCE TASTY AND FEEL GOOD. The new restaurant address in Esslingen am Neckar. In the heart of the old town - the small but fine restaurant with selected regional and international specialties.

We were with a group in Blum's Golden Fässle. After a friendly welcome, the drinks were taken, which worked great. As the evening progressed, the drinks arrived with a delay and sometimes after a reminder. The menu promised a lot and the food (salad and grilled salmon) was delicious. However, the guacamole described on the menu was a green, fine strained cream and tasted like it came from a tube (fresh guacamole is quick and easy to make and would have been better). The restaurant is beautifully located in a narrow alley - especially beautiful in the dark. The guest rooms are small due to their age and as a result the tables are a bit tighter, but that doesn't matter. The noise level is a bit high. Conclusion: nice little restaurant with a great selection and delicious food.

Very tasty food. Swabian classics at a high level, delicious beer, the ice cream is very special. Only one star deducted because the furniture is a bit outdated.

We were there and had pre-ordered the 5-course surprise menu. Everything was excellent - the taste, the freshness of the ingredients and the preparation. Even though the waitress was alone, the drinks and the individual courses were brought to us quickly and with a smile. Very charming and accommodating. We felt really comfortable and will definitely come back. Only recommended!

For me the best Swabian food in Esslingen. Always very delicately cooked and seasoned. You won't find any ingredients here that you can't tolerate. Great recommendations on the board and something for every taste. I've been there many times with friends - absolutely recommended.

Very good regional cuisine! Another nice visit to Blums Goldenes Fässle. The asparagus soup was excellent, excellent daily special and at the end homemade ice cream! The service was very accommodating.

For dinner we had pre-ordered the so-called winter poultry menu (goose) for €42 per person. The first course consisted of 5 slices of baguette bread with a little goose fat. This was given to all guests, regardless of what they had ordered. The second course was a bowl of colorful salad and a bowl of potato salad to make your own. The main course (the goose) consisted of a small, sizzled leg and a mini piece of breast. Plus dumplings and red cabbage. There was no dessert, espresso or schnapps. Conclusion: Compared to Blum's goose meal earlier in the RSK clubhouse, this menu was quite a disappointment, met our expectations neither in quantity nor quality and was completely overpriced. But the prices for the “normal” dishes and drinks also seem quite excessive. In addition, the beer is always poured to the bottom line, and the wine (1/4 Primitivo for €7.70) is poured with millimeter precision. Very shabby! The narrowness between the tables and the associated noise level are also unpleasant. A visit to this restaurant is therefore not particularly recommended.

Very tasty, high-quality Swabian food. Our grandma turned 90 and wanted rollads, spaetzle and semolina dumpling soup. Andreas Blum and his team cooked everything wonderfully, and we were able to collect the food in warming boxes and serve it at the retirement home for the party. Everyone was happy and it was delicious, thank you very much!

This was our first time eating here and it was delicious! One meal from the daily menu, the other meals from the normal menu... all very fine and special. We'd love to come back!

Food, as always, great. We love the daily menu with fresh dishes that are not on the menu. Unfortunately, the service cannot keep up with the quality of the food.

We recommend. We were just there for lunch. The 3 course surprise menu is highly recommended. White parsley soup with goose liver. Three pieces of veal with mashed potatoes and, as a dessert, apple fritters with vanilla ice cream.

Wir wollten vom Trubel des Weihnachtsmarktes weg und haben spontan dieses tolle Restaurant gefunden. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und an einen Tisch gesetzt der glücklicherweise grad Frei wurde. Da hatten wir Glück, sagte die nette Kellnerin. Zum essen haben wir 4 das Tagesangebot gewählt und es hat unglaublich, wirklich UNGLAUBLICH, lecker geschmeckt! Nicht nur ich, sondern alle, waren wirklich beeindruckt von dem Essen. Sehr sehr gerne wieder <3

Habe auf Dienstreise in Esslingen nach regionaler Küche gesucht und bin so auf das goldene Fässle aufmerksam geworden. Glücklicherweise war ich rechtzeitig um auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch zu bekommen. Das Essen war fabelhaft, die Portionen weder zu viel noch zu wenig und das Personal sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder.

In ganz BW die beste Küche…sensationell ohne wenn und aber…. Einfach phänomenal… Danke für diesen Gaumenschmauss 😊

Hier kocht der Chef selbst. Und das mega klasse. Sterne-Qualität.

Als wir hörten, dass das goldene Fässle wieder eröffnet haben wir uns gefreut und wollten direkt dort hin. Ein wenig später haben wir es nun auch geschafft. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Die Empfehlungen stehen an einer Tafel und werden an jedem Tisch per Foto auf einen Tablet nochmal nachgereicht. Zur Vorspeise hatten wir die wirklich leckere Hirn- und die ebenfalls leckere Flädlesuppe. Zur Hauptspeise bediente ich mich mit der gepökelten Rinderzunge an der Tageskarte. Ein wirklich leckeres und super abgestimmtes Gericht, kann ich nur empfehlen. Meine Begleitung hatte den klassischen Zwiebelrostbraten. Meiner Meinung leider nicht perfekt, da habe ich schon bessere und zartere gegessen. Freunde von uns waren eine Woche später und haben ebenfalls von den Gerichten geschwärmt. Sehr zu empfehlen sind wohl auch die Rinderfetzen und das Kalbsragout. Die Lachsvorspeise war wohl ebenfalls lecker, allerdings Preis/Leistungstechnisch nicht so passend. Dennoch kann ich/können wir das Goldene Fässle nur weiterempfehlen!!

Wir kommen wieder. Sehr leckeres Essen und netter Service. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

Tolles schwäbisches Restaurant. Waren jetzt das zweite x da. Die Hauptgänge spitze, denke der Chef ist selber in der Küche. Und las nur not least, das selber gemachte Eis, Ihr werdet sowas nirgendwo finden, versprochen. Bin 52 und sowas in keinem Sterne geschweige 2 Sterne Restaurants gehabt. Toll in der Stadtmitte, Seitenstrasse gelegen. Wäre der Geheimtipp für jeden Besucher der Altstadt.
