Steak enjoyment at the highest level – a true highlight in Bielefeld! I recently visited Block House in Bielefeld and was completely thrilled! The steak was grilled to perfection – crispy on the outside, buttery tender on the inside. The side dishes, especially the baked potato with sour cream and the fresh bread, were also a delight. You immediately notice: Quality is paramount here. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. You feel welcome from the very beginning. We hadn't reserved a table. The welcome manager handled this with ease. After a long wait at the table, the gentleman from the entrance came over again and took our drink orders. Shortly after, the waitress came to note down the dishes we had requested. In a top-notch restaurant, it naturally takes a while for the food to be served. Shortly before dinner, the waitress took another drink order. However, the drinks never arrived at our table. In the meantime, the welcome manager came to our table and asked what we wanted. We pointed out the order we had placed, but it never arrived. When our server appeared again, I asked her about the drinks. An "oh" escaped her lips and she disappeared toward the counter. A short time later, another server brought our orders. Unfortunately, there wasn't even a word of regret. If the man at the entrance hadn't been so great, I would certainly have given a much lower rating. My review was for the branch in Bielefeld

Yesterday, I went to the Block House in Bielefeld with my partner for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience that we'd love to repeat. * Making a table reservation over the phone was great. Mr. Schulze was polite, humorous, and very pleasant. Despite the spontaneous reservation, we were able to reserve it 1.5 hours in advance. * Once we got there, we had some table choices and opted for a small booth. It had an American feel, which I really liked. * Our waiter, Tony, introduced himself (I've only ever seen him in America), which I found very personable. Apart from the fact that he speaks very quickly and mumbles (which meant we had to ask for more information several times), we felt very comfortable with him. When he calms down a bit while speaking, it's perfect. ;) * We ordered the New York Burger (served without a bun) with fries and turkey breast linguine. My boyfriend thought his burger was delicious (and was full without finishing the fries, so he didn't need the burger topping at all), and I also enjoyed my pasta (which, by the way, I had already eaten the day before at the Block House in Hanover and thought was good). The turkey breast was a bit dry, so I'll stick with the vegetarian option next time. *Overall, I really liked the ambiance. It was interesting to watch the wait staff assist the chef wherever they can (salting, brushing the meat for the finishing touches). The open kitchen inspires a great deal of trust. I don't know what the man in the suit's role was (perhaps the chef/manager?), but he brought us our drinks and even escorted us out the door like a gentleman at the end. Lots of small gestures with a big impact. We look forward to our next visit.

Update: Hungarian-style beef goulash and especially the beef ribs are a treat. If I could, I'd give another one. ### I had lunch at Block House for the first time today. There was a delicious chicken fricassee and an equally delicious mixed salad to start with. Service was quick and attentive, and a thank you at the end.

I drove 60 km (round trip!) to the Blockhaus Steakhouse in Bielefeld – and I couldn't eat a single bite. I sat at the table for a full 15 minutes, and no one even came to take my order. The restaurant wasn't even full. Absolutely incomprehensible and disrespectful to guests! I've rarely experienced anything like this: zero attention, zero service, zero organization. For a restaurant that claims to have a certain standard, this is simply a disaster. Mr. Schulz, as operations manager, seems to have completely lost track of things.

Yesterday, August 23rd, we went to the Block House (culinary city tour) with six people. We had the main course, and we have to be honest, it was worse than bad. It was linguine alio oglio with turkey breast steaks. The linguine was dry, overly garlicky, and included vegetables that never belonged there. The turkey breast steaks were dry as a cork and partially burnt. We have to give credit to the restaurant manager for his great response and for bringing us some bruschetta. And it's only because the restaurant manager responded so well that we're giving it two stars. Nevertheless, we will mention this issue when paying the bill from the tourist information office.

We went to the Block House with our families for dinner. Despite a misunderstanding, our reserved table was kindly kept free for us, and we received very friendly and accommodating service. The meat dishes were a huge hit, and we also had a wide selection of vegetarian options to choose from. Our family members also highly recommend the dessert. The team continually checked on our well-being and immediately fulfilled even small special requests. We would love to come back! Many thanks to the Block House team! It was a wonderful evening for everyone!

I celebrated my 40th birthday there yesterday and was absolutely thrilled. The service was outstanding. Absolutely attentive. The food was beyond good. I've never eaten such good meat! The lovely waitress, I think her name is Vasiliki, didn't get a generous tip for nothing. The evening will remain in my memory! Absolutely recommend it ❤️❤️❤️ I'll be back!!

We ate there yesterday. The staff was very friendly and accommodating; our waitress served us very confidently, politely, kindly, and competently. The advice we received before ordering was also very good. For the food: we had the usual, well-balanced appetizer salad, filet mignon, rib-eye steak, both cooked to perfection, medium rare, with fries, peppercorn sauce, mayo, the usual garlic bread, and potato gratin. The potato gratin was disappointing. The potatoes were too mushy, the cheese tasted strange, and there was far too much cheese on it, considering the amount of potatoes. The pepper sauce wasn't really a pepper sauce either, but rather some kind of sauce that deserves the name; you'd expect at least a few green peppercorns in the sauce, as well as the taste of green pepper. Neither was there. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the rest of the meal. We had red wine with the meal; it's recommended to use larger glasses for the red wine so the aroma can develop better. The evening concluded with ice cream variations, which were a perfect match and rounded off this lovely evening. We'd be happy to come back; overall, it was a well-rounded and harmonious evening.

The food was okay, the meat a little tough, but otherwise the service was great, nice and friendly.

Hamburg's Block House restaurants can do better

Solid steak. Unfortunately, I'm a bit biased. My visit to the Munich branch last year was disappointing. Until now, I've only really been able to give a steak five stars in Ireland, whether it's a pub or a luxury restaurant. Ireland has never disappointed me. It could, of course, have something to do with the meat. :)

We were there today. Service was a bit slow at first—I think it was just the start of our shift—but otherwise it was very friendly and attentive. The food was good. I had a sirloin steak plate with fries and coleslaw, which was hardly worth mentioning; the portion could have been a bit larger. The fries were great, though, and the steak was perfectly medium-rare without even asking.

Good evening. I'll keep it short. The service was extremely friendly, which made the experience very pleasant. The salad was delicious. Unfortunately, the steak didn't taste very good; it had a lot of tendons. It was okay with the sauce, which shouldn't be the case with steak. The vitello tonnato looked unloved.

We've been to the Stake House several times, and the food has always been delicious and the staff impeccable. Unfortunately, today we were quite disappointed. The portions were so small that we weren't satisfied. That's disappointing given the prices, and it's questionable whether we'll go back. The second thing is that we were told they were out of baked potatoes, but half an hour later, the table next to us got some. We found that a bit odd.

The Block House in other cities is very good, and we're real fans of the food. It's embarrassing that there wasn't a single Block Burger on Sunday, June 29, 2025, because they were supposedly sold out. The restaurant's manager should take a look at its quality.

Perfect service and a friendly demeanor are rare, but on this evening we felt so well looked after. Thank you for that, and also to the short-haired blonde lady. Therefore, my review goes to this wonderful service staff, because the food at a Blockhouse doesn't need to be mentioned again and again.

We ate at a Blockhouse for the first time today, as we had heard a lot of good things about it and were nearby as part of the Leineweber market. We really liked the atmosphere and the staff were friendly. The side salad was really good but not the most exceptional thing we've eaten. The bread and baked potatoes were excellent. Most importantly, the rump steaks were unfortunately nothing special... They looked perfectly medium on the inside but not really tender. We found the burnt taste in places very annoying, which unfortunately had nothing to do with the roasted aromas that would have enhanced the flavor. In summary: The food was OK and not so bad that we would have had to complain about it on site, but also not as perfect as you would expect from a steakhouse. I generally expect the professional staff to prepare each meal better than we do as laypeople and hobby cooks; otherwise, it makes no sense to me to spend money on a restaurant visit. And the steaks we buy now and then to prepare ourselves are generally of better quality. It's a shame, we expected more. We'll see if we give it another chance sometime soon, since, as I said, it wasn't really bad. However, during our previous visits to other restaurants, we've generally had the feeling that we'd invested our money well.

The ambiance is modern, cozy, and inviting. The open grill area also creates a pleasant atmosphere. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but absolutely justified for the quality. Ordered the dish of the day with salad for lunch today. First came the judgment. Salad?? The manager came, corrected and we got the very tasty salad. Then came the bad steak. Grilled very, very crispy. Very strongly spiced. So not “tender” at all. My opinion: Brought too early, returned to the kitchen and then grilled again. "Incomprehensible We have been a Block House customer for well over 40 years, but we have never experienced this level of quality. 》Sorry for these blunt words!

For me the best steakhouse in Bielefeld. My friend and I were warmly welcomed and accompanied through the evening by the excellent waiter Tony. Excellent steak and side dishes, goulash soup and onion soup as well as the Belgian waffles recommended by our waiter were also excellent. We also remember the man of the house very positively and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

It was busy, so it took a long time before we got the tickets and could order - that can happen with a full house, no problem. Despite the stress, our waiter was very nice and relaxed. Unfortunately the food was a complete failure. I ordered my steak medium rare, but the sole of my shoe was completely fried. Luckily we had ordered sauce, otherwise it would have been difficult to eat the meat. It's a real shame, we definitely won't be coming back.

After I was able to reserve a table with a very friendly gentleman, we were in the right mood for the evening. The welcome was very warm, the service was very friendly and accommodating, the food was amazing. We both had steak with cream savoy cabbage, fries and a super fresh salad, it couldn't have been better. We had a very nice evening and will definitely come back. Went here with my parents who were visiting. I had a sirloin steak and my father had a Mr. rump steak - unfortunately both tasted a bit burnt. My mother's steak was good. The prices should be better. Nevertheless, the service and the ambience were nice.

A block house - the food offering is well known. We were there with a large group, which wasn't a problem for the service. Food came to the table at the same time, hot and done as ordered. Unfortunately not always a given, but good here. Very attentive service, we had to wait a little bit at the beginning because they could have sold more beer, it was just full. All around nice evening!

I ordered my fillet medium+, but it was through. I think your finished fries out of the bag are really bad.

Table reserved long in advance but only got a seat at the counter with 6 people! Hardly any attention from the staff (M...) regarding ordering! Meat was good but side dishes were frozen. Afterwards when paying, the (M…) staff took plates away from us after every second customer instead of collecting them all one after the other. It was too well learned that the last colleague had to pay but the staff didn't come for 5 minutes and we went to the door to have a smoke. Then the waitress (M...) came and said to his colleagues that he should probably pay for his food, which we wanted anyway, but such a tone of disrespect is unacceptable!!! It was my first time there and I wouldn't let the waitress serve me again!!

Very good restaurant. Eat a normal portion that you can manage. Without a starter, a dessert fit in. Service very friendly and accommodating. Prices are in the middle range. Guests included families with small children, teenagers and adults of all ages. Although very crowded, everyone seemed to be happy. We, 2 people, came without a reservation and only had to wait 5 minutes. We'd love to come back!

Block House was een paar jaar geleden voor mij een ontdekking. Telkens als ik in Duitsland ben, probeer ik daar te eten. Het eten is erg lekker en de bediening vriendelijk en efficient. Een aanrader.

The processes and service fit, typical for system catering. People here are also very friendly. Likewise the ambience. Quality is good and consistent. Unfortunately, beers come from large brewers instead of one of the regional breweries - a shame. Ice cream by Giovanni L.; Here “chain meets chain”, but each with quality. Prices not cheap but good value for money. Very child/family friendly!

We just had dinner at the Blockhouse on a Thursday. The food was great but at a restaurant with high prices I expect corresponding service. Unfortunately, we only received the steak knife upon request. Small thing but a must in a steakhouse. What's worse, however, is that in the end we were the only table occupied and 3 (!) employees were scurrying around everywhere and doing things but we as guests were completely ignored. The dessert menu was brought, the drinks were all gone, but no one came to ask if they wanted something more to drink or dessert. The restaurant management itself stood behind the counter and at the latest she should keep an eye on the guests and, if necessary, instruct her employees. We then went to the checkout to pay because no one came. I can understand it when it's full on weekends or in the summer, but being ignored like that as the only two guests in the restaurant is sad and a shame and almost an insult to the customer. It was probably the last time in the restaurant.

For me one of the best steakhouses. Anyone who loves steaks will like this place. According to my friend, the salad wasn't that good. There were far too few mushrooms here for the money. Furthermore, this salad was not visually appealing either.

Above all else, the service deserves this and the kitchen a big compliment for its friendliness, helpfulness and speed!!! The steaks perfect! Particularly The baked poatao with sour cream was delicious. The ambience has room for improvement. Especially the small bouquets of dried flowers on the tables are a bit...well... Cleanliness inside and outside was perfect. All in all recommended!

The 5 stars go to the service person Nevi, she saved our evening with her friendly and attentive service. Actually I just wanted to give 1 star for the unfriendly boss. We had reserved for 7 people and got a great table until the boss came and gave us another table with her unfriendly manner. Apparently we only made reservations for 5 people even though I called ahead and made reservations for 7 people. The boss doesn't know how to be customer-friendly; if it weren't for the service staff, we would have gotten up again. She saved our evening. The boss should work on her friendliness. Impossible! The 5 stars go to the service worker Nevi. Thanks for that!
