Thuringia is basically a culinary wasteland. Where do you want to go out to eat - do you really want to eat something more upscale. BjörnsOx is a recommendation here, we can and must be grateful to him for settling in this region. Otherwise there would be nothing within a 100km radius. Of course, this restaurant is only intended for the sophisticated palate. But this one is rewarded with plenty of aromas. The sequence of the menu brings you delicious pleasure over four hours. Furthermore, the well-selected cocktail menu is highly recommended - why always drink wine? I would like to thank Mr. Leist very much for this effort and his passion for good cuisine and after several visits it is still not the last time I have been there. My personal favorites were the strong Russian egg, the tender chocolate liver sausage roll and probably the world's best French fries.

As soon as you leave the stylish reception and counter voyage, your eye is drawn to a floor-to-ceiling wall of shelves in the “living room” on the right, which is overflowing with knick-knacks, and on the left is a cozy fireplace. The rustic tables fit well into the ambience and the wall clock, which strikes the hour, also exudes coziness. A box on the fireplace plays 80s hits, ok in itself, but can be optimized. At the table, next to the cloth napkin and draped cutlery, my gaze stops at a rather crumpled bunch of grass and the frayed placemat also disappoints my expectations. The other tables are also poorly equipped. There is also a plastic standee with the aperitif of the day. The waiter speaks briefly and quickly, which makes me feel like he doesn't have much time left for the guest. Together with Anne Clark “Our Darkness” from the box, my mood can't really let up. The food itself is served at well-timed intervals. We decide on the Non-Ox 3-course menu, consisting of tomato-melon salad, chanterelle soup and pike-perch. But here too, my enthusiasm for the pickled tomatoes and melons is somewhat dampened when I bite into frozen cheese in the salad. The chanterelle soup is served in a pot, which means it stays nice and hot, very good, and the homemade sauce baskets including sauces and croisson rings are also impressive. The main course shows what flavor you can conjure up from leeks and carrots and the pike perch is also cooked to perfection. The drinks are also very well selected. Conclusion: It was interesting to try it out and worth the money.

WOW, what a surprising experience! Well-known home cooking from the Rhön is creative, lovingly varied and prepared with outstanding quality. Compared to other star chef experiences, it's a real festival of variety, but still down-to-earth and with a great connection to regional products. A great, reserved service, very friendly, attentive and informative completes the overall picture. The art presented represents good value for money. This location is an enrichment for Dermbach and a flagship for the Rhön! Thank you for the great time! We'd love to come back.

My full recommendation! We had the 8 course surprise menu and were very excited. Every course was a highlight and all the individual dishes were really very good. Some of them surprising and super tasty, some of them just super delicious. The ingredients were down-to-earth and regional - but fantastic in their preparation and combination. Kudos to the chef! Overall, a great evening in a very nice dining room and perfect service. All that remains is to say thank you. Thanks to the chef and the whole team.

Unser Besuch im Bjorns Ox Restaurant war ein absolutes Highlight! Wir hatten uns für das Acht-Gang-Menü für 149 Euro pro Person entschieden und waren vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut begeistert. Obwohl wir schon in vielen Sternerestaurants waren, hat uns das Bjorn's Ox mit seinem überzeugenden Menü wirklich umgehauen. Jeder Bissen war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis und die hohe Qualität der Gerichte sowie die liebevolle Zubereitung haben uns nachhaltig beeindruckt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Das Service-Team war äußerst aufmerksam und hat uns mit einem herzlichen Lächeln begrüßt. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war zudem sehr angenehm und trug zu unserem insgesamt positiven Erlebnis bei. Falls Sie auf der Suche nach einem Ort sind, an dem Sie hervorragendes Essen und exzellenten Service genießen können, dann sind Sie hier richtig.

Sehr gute Küche mit starken Aromen, ein verdienter grüner Michelin-Stern! Eine großartige Abfolge von Gängen, bei denen das Spiel der Aromen gekonnt herausgearbeitet wurde. Es gibt ein Menü, Unverträglichkeit sollte man rechtzeitig vorher ankündigen. Die Weinkarte hat viele Tropfen zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Bei unserem Besuch hatten wir allerdings bei der Auswahl der Weine etwas Pech, da einiges ausgetrunken war und die Nachlieferung wohl stockte. Insgesamt ein regionaltypischen Gourmet-Erlebnis, nach diesem sich der Koch persönlich auch am Tisch für einen angeregten Plausch einfindet.
