We had a phenomenal eight-course culinary experience last night. It was simply wonderful to linger in this beautiful setting with great company and a diverse menu. The service was excellent, and the intervals between courses were perfect. A compliment to the chef for their creative presentation and the delicious results. Thank you so much!

Disappointing, more was expected for a Michelin-starred restaurant. €170.00 per person: head cheese, meatballs, chicken fricassee, solyanka – nobody expects that in a gourmet restaurant. A shame.

The food, and I don't mean the Michelin-starred menu (we didn't have that), is absolutely first-class.

We visited BjoernsOx on a Saturday evening and were able to reserve a table at short notice. We received a very warm welcome. The dining room is extremely cozy and beautifully furnished (great furniture, cushions, etc.), making you feel right at home. But we weren't there for the decor; we wanted to be treated to a culinary experience full of surprises, as the evening promised. And we have to say: it wasn't just a culinary surprise, but so much more! A fantastic interpretation of regional cuisine: textures, flavor profiles, ingredient combinations, presentation, and of course, the overall taste: outstanding! A wonderful evening that began at 6:30 pm and ended around 11 pm. Creativity at its finest. Eight wonderful courses, presented by very attentive service. At the end, the owner himself came to our table for a chat to ask us directly how we enjoyed the evening: exemplary! We will definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend BjoernsOx. TOP!

Thuringia is essentially a culinary wasteland. Where would you go to eat if you really wanted to dine somewhere more upscale? BjörnsOx is a recommendation here; we can and must be grateful to him for settling in this region. Otherwise, there would be nothing within a 100-km radius. Of course, this restaurant is only for the discerning palate. But they will be rewarded with abundant flavors. The sequence of the menu provides a delicious treat over four hours. Furthermore, the well-selected cocktail list is highly recommended - why always drink wine? I would like to thank Mr. Leist very much for his effort and passion for good cuisine, and after several visits, it hasn't been the last time. My personal favorites were the hearty Russian egg, the tender chocolate liverwurst roll, and arguably the world's best French fries.

The food was top-notch. We went with friends for the 8-course meal; it was amazing.

As soon as you leave the stylish reception and bar area, your gaze is drawn to the "living room" on the right, a floor-to-ceiling wall of shelves overflowing with knick-knacks. To the left, there's a cozy fireplace. The rustic tables fit well with the ambiance, and the wall clock, which strikes the hour, exudes a cozy atmosphere. A speaker on the fireplace blares 80s hits—okay in itself, but could be improved. At the table, my gaze is drawn to a rather crumpled bunch of grasses next to the cloth napkin and draped cutlery, and the frayed placemat also disappoints my expectations. The other tables are also battered. There's also a plastic stand with the aperitif of the day. The waiter speaks briefly and quickly, which makes me feel like he doesn't have much time to spare for the guest. Along with Anne Clark's "Our Darkness" from the speaker, my mood can't quite sink. The food itself is served at well-timed intervals. We opt for the non-ox 3-course menu, consisting of tomato and melon salad, chanterelle soup, and zander. But here, too, my enthusiasm for the pickled tomatoes and melon is somewhat dampened by the bite of frozen cheese in the salad. The chanterelle soup is served in a pot, which keeps it nice and hot; it's very good, and the homemade sauce baskets, including sauces and croissant rings, are also very impressive. The main course demonstrates the flavors you can conjure up with leeks and carrots, and the zander is also cooked to perfection. The drinks are also very well selected. In conclusion: It was interesting to try it out, and well worth the money.

WOW, what a surprising experience! Famous Rhön home cooking, creatively and lovingly varied, and prepared with outstanding quality. Compared to other Michelin-starred chef experiences, this is a true festival of variety, yet down-to-earth and with a great connection to regional produce. Excellent, unobtrusive service, very friendly, attentive, and informative, rounds out the overall picture. The artistry presented represents good value for money. This venue is an asset to Dermbach and a showcase for the Rhön region! Thank you for the wonderful time! We would love to come back.

Very beautiful place, simple and refined cuisine and very nice atmosphere

It was a very pleasant evening, and the food exceeded all expectations. A warm atmosphere in every respect.

My full recommendation! We had the 8 course surprise menu and were very excited. Every course was a highlight and all the individual dishes were really very good. Some of them surprising and super tasty, some of them just super delicious. The ingredients were down-to-earth and regional - but fantastic in their preparation and combination. Kudos to the chef! Overall, a great evening in a very nice dining room and perfect service. All that remains is to say thank you. Thanks to the chef and the whole team.

Unser Besuch im Bjorns Ox Restaurant war ein absolutes Highlight! Wir hatten uns für das Acht-Gang-Menü für 149 Euro pro Person entschieden und waren vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut begeistert. Obwohl wir schon in vielen Sternerestaurants waren, hat uns das Bjorn's Ox mit seinem überzeugenden Menü wirklich umgehauen. Jeder Bissen war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis und die hohe Qualität der Gerichte sowie die liebevolle Zubereitung haben uns nachhaltig beeindruckt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Das Service-Team war äußerst aufmerksam und hat uns mit einem herzlichen Lächeln begrüßt. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war zudem sehr angenehm und trug zu unserem insgesamt positiven Erlebnis bei. Falls Sie auf der Suche nach einem Ort sind, an dem Sie hervorragendes Essen und exzellenten Service genießen können, dann sind Sie hier richtig.

Sehr gute Küche mit starken Aromen, ein verdienter grüner Michelin-Stern! Eine großartige Abfolge von Gängen, bei denen das Spiel der Aromen gekonnt herausgearbeitet wurde. Es gibt ein Menü, Unverträglichkeit sollte man rechtzeitig vorher ankündigen. Die Weinkarte hat viele Tropfen zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Bei unserem Besuch hatten wir allerdings bei der Auswahl der Weine etwas Pech, da einiges ausgetrunken war und die Nachlieferung wohl stockte. Insgesamt ein regionaltypischen Gourmet-Erlebnis, nach diesem sich der Koch persönlich auch am Tisch für einen angeregten Plausch einfindet.
