Bim Käs in Siegen

I've been going to Käs for 20 years, but this visit will remain with me for a long time. Never again, we've never felt so unwelcome. After consulting the waitress, we decided to order the tortellini flat with a cheese plate. A short while later, another waitress came over and asked, "Could you sit somewhere else, there's a large group coming here?" We politely replied, "We specifically asked if we could sit here because the small round table was wobbling in the gravel." So far, so good. We were given a tortellini bowl and a small mixed cheese platter, along with our drinks. From that point on, we were completely lost sight of. The general behavior of almost all the waitresses, with one exception, can best be described as follows: A table is served and then they leave without looking back. Half an hour later, after we still hadn't received another tortellini or a drink, the senior manager brought this to the attention of the waitress. When the server arrived, we asked if we could pay for the tortellini and the small mixed cheese platter. She didn't know, but this cheese platter couldn't cost that much, as the other platters were considerably larger. A colleague came over. A quarter of an hour later, she came and explained that the small cheese platter would cost €17.50 each, and it would be cheaper to go with the menu. We were then allowed to take two tortellini to go, which took another half hour. This whole process took an hour and 45 minutes to finally get the tortellini served, and we were left sitting without a word. Another table was then billed, and we had to go to the front of the table ourselves. A successful evening; everyone got a drink, a tortellini, and a small mixed cheese platter. Two tortellini to go for €42 would still have been cheaper individually. No further ado!

The food there is always delicious, and the combinations are simply fantastic. I also find the whole atmosphere really cool, and the service is always friendly.

Lousy, I came in around 9 p.m., the other guests all had food on their tables, the staff came to the table, didn't hand over a menu, and asked, "Would you like a drink yet?" It seemed usual to me that drinks were served before dinner. I ordered an Alt, which was served, and then no one came. But I wanted to eat dinner here and not drink on an empty stomach. If the kitchen is closed, you have to let them know right away so the guest doesn't order unnecessary drinks and leave dissatisfied. Ugh, I won't be coming back. Google says it's open until 2 a.m. on Sundays. How am I supposed to know the kitchen hours if I'm not told and they don't give me a menu? I haven't been served this badly in a restaurant in Germany for a long time!

Great food, especially the starter... The ambiance is iconic, and has been for as long as I can remember. The service has declined somewhat in recent years... but of course, that's not just the case at Bim Käs.

Visited again after 34 years and it was really nice again!

It's all in the combination! It has to be said that you won't get the best food in the world at Käs, BUT if you order the complete platter, you really get more than enough for your money. You can eat as much pizza, baked tortellini, and salad as you want. You also get bread and a cheese platter. For a price of just over €20, you can't complain. Absolutely perfect for drinking beer. I just love how quaint the pub is; I always feel like sitting there all evening, eating and drinking beer. A dangerous combination, because drinking beer at Käs is one of the places I enjoy most. The music there is loud, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it wouldn't be Käs if it weren't. The outdoor area is quieter and also very good for eating and drinking. In the restaurant itself, all the tables are slightly separated from each other, perfect if you want to chat about anything and everything without being disturbed. Reservations aren't always possible; it sometimes depends on the day. It's best to just show up and see. Always a pleasure to visit Käs, especially with friends who are all up for food and beer.

We spent a pleasant evening with the company. It was a cool place, and the staff were very nice and friendly. The food was delicious. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

I think the place is great! Quaint, rustic and with good music. I can't stand Chickicki. The staff was super friendly and the food was very tasty. There is a small deduction for the pizza. Maybe the pizza base could be a little thicker. But otherwise we were very satisfied. You feel comfortable there :)

We celebrated our birthday there with about 110 guests. It was a wonderful party in a fantastic location with extremely friendly and attentive service staff. From the planning to the actual event, everything went very smoothly. I can only recommend the entire crew and would like to take this opportunity to thank them again for an unforgettable evening.

When we arrived, the service was super quick. Our order was taken straight away and the food came out quickly. However, instead of vegetarian tortellini we got meat tortellini, and instead of Margherita we got a ham and salami pizza. The food was returned and we had to wait again. The deal included ordering pizza, tortellini and salad. When we reordered it took significantly longer for the server to come to the table. After the second order it felt like no one was served at all and ordering drinks was practically impossible. We then ordered a vegetarian tortellini to go. When we got home we discovered that it was the meat version again. Unfortunately we had to throw the food away because we don't eat meat. A real shame and a waste of money!!!

Great little restaurant. The food is good. I expected more from the cheese.

Was there again after many years. I think the atmosphere is great, but I already knew it. We sat in the part that is still partitioned off and not as open as the entrance on the left. Food and service were great. We were there around 6 p.m. and it wasn't too crowded yet. Our drinks and food arrived within minutes. Always my pleasure!

Very rustic restaurant. Drinks and food were served quickly and the portions were generous. Good value for money. I would recommend making a reservation as it is very busy.

Relatively comfortable, a little too dark, too much cheese. But as the name suggests, you could probably have guessed that.

Super tasty, great atmosphere, rustic, always a pleasure. It's always very nice and we enjoy this time together with our friends. The portions are generous and if you don't get full here it's your own fault. Just let the lovely service know and supplies will come.

We reserved a table for 8 people online. When we were there, our group was supposed to be divided into two tables. What is that?!?! Of course we left - that's not possible! There was no suggestion for a solution, no apology, nothing! We can only advise everyone not to go there. Better give your money to someone else ;-)

Unfortunately, far too loud. Normal conversation was not possible where we were sitting. The starter was lukewarm and we had to let it warm up again. We wanted to take the rest that we didn't manage to eat with us. They just brought us a piece of aluminum foil to wrap up... aren't there any paper plates or something similar??

There were "only" three of us and we were still able to sit at a large, comfortable table outside on the terrace. We treated ourselves to the house platter with cheese. We really enjoyed it, it was very plentiful. But we could have ordered more. Everyone who served us was very friendly. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, the four waitresses were completely overloaded on Friday evening. We also had to wait 1 hour between the starter and the cheese plate. Starter was super tasty. The cheese plate, however, was a disappointment. Far too little on the plate and with these waiting times I didn't have the nerve to order a new one. Nice beer garden which is unfortunately a bit noisy. We'll try again anyway.

What was served to us is not possible at all. For the price you can eat wonderfully in an Italian restaurant. At least you get a decent pizza there. The bread in the basket was hard, the pizza was as thin as a biscuit and some of the tortellini weren't cooked all the way through. We don't want to talk about the cheese plate. This was definitely not a high quality cheese as described on the website. We will definitely not be coming back again!

I went there for Christmas party with my colleague. I haven't tried these many varieties of cheese in a whole life. Although the next day was not pleasant due to my inability to handle this much lactose, but worth it.

My first visit in years raises questions. The three of us came and got the "Hausplatte version complete" for 2 people or more for €18.90. When I asked whether this would be enough for us, I received a quick answer: "It's like all you can eat". Ok, we thought, we'll probably be able to roll out after dinner. The bread with butter was immediately brought to the table along with the 3 beers we ordered. We had to wait about 25 minutes for the rest, which is okay if it's freshly made. The food was of course eaten quickly, good, no problem for 3 people. There was a salad, a tortellini and a pizza with ham and mushrooms where we didn't choose the topping. Should that be the case? In any case, we ordered more tortellini, which took about 20 minutes, and the second round of beer was delivered quickly. The tortellini came and the small cheese platter was also quickly presented. When the cheese plate was quickly destroyed, we ordered another tortellini and a pizza tonno, which we canceled after waiting for over 45 minutes! Briefly summarized: 4x 0.4l beer 1x 0.4l cola beer 1x small cola 1x large salad 2x tortellini 1x pizza ham 1x small cheese plate 1x few slices of bread with butter = almost 80€! I went home with a hole in my stomach for just under €80! Expenditure. I won't come here anymore But the food was still very tasty

Unfortunately it's not as nice and good as it used to be. Music was way too loud, making conversations very tiring. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the noodles were already cold. We had the house plate. Normally it is customary to serve a glass with a bottle for non-alcoholic drinks. However, this was only the case once out of 3 non-alcoholic wheats. Unfortunately, the espresso was also only lukewarm. No spoon, no sugar, not even a cookie. The cutlery, especially the knives, were very dull. Unfortunately our seat wasn't the best either, very narrow and with a tripping hazard.

One of the best restaurants there is in Siegen. The food is high quality and always delicious. I can only recommend. However, you should reserve a table in advance.

There were 5 of us there and the food was simply great 👍 I had a Hawaiian pizza and my wife and friends had the house plate "variant complete" and they were thrilled 👍 What was unpleasant, however, was the extremely loud music around 8:30 p.m., because from then on we couldn't really have a conversation anymore, which was a shame because that was the knockout for us. point that evening.

For 40 years we happily drove 60 km to eat cheese at Bim. I suspect the friendship is coming to an end. I can still put up with a price increase these days, but if the price/performance ratio is no longer right, then we're out. We love the starter, that's what we came for, or rather we loved it, but what left the kitchen yesterday was a disgrace. A pile of béchamel sauce, cheese in a homeopathic dose, probably the ingredient that makes up the margin. The tortellini were not cooked. We ate it, you could, but it wasn't enjoyable. When the employee asked whether everything was OK, we politely presented our criticism. His answer was astonishing: the ingredients were constantly changing…. Hello, what does the service person want to tell us? Tortellini, béchamel sauce and cheese + a bit of chives on top and the béchamel sauce certainly wasn't freshly mixed together by the little helpers in the kitchen but a finished product. Which is basically not a problem if it is a good quality product. The truth is: a lot more sauce, because it is inexpensive, and a lot less cheese, because it is expensive, then the calculation is correct. In the end, our constructive criticism didn't bother the good guys, that was obvious. Then why does he ask? I would have given it to him anyway. Yesterday was Thursday, ie. The starter was only €7 instead of €9, which is basically a nice move. We took another portion with us, why this meal was charged at €9 - you could communicate that in advance - I don't understand either. Maybe the owner should take better care of his shop again; the staff, who seem to fluctuate frequently, don't seem to care about the future of the otherwise really cozy restaurant.

I was invited there for dinner with my father years ago. The food was fresh, tasty and a decent portion. To recommend. In addition, a rustic and cozy atmosphere.

I had reserved a table for 20 people, on site they said no, only for 19, we were only 19 people because guests canceled, but two people had to leave again because it was just too tight, and one of my guests was still sitting at the table corner, it just doesn't work, and I must have made a reservation 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Then they were completely overwhelmed with our orders. I had ordered a prosciutto pizza and still they brought me 3x salami until I gave up at some point, my sister-in-law ordered cola beer and only got cola and that too after several reminders. My partner was completely forgotten when ordering food.

When we arrived, we were informed by the flower that two people were apparently no longer wanted (even though there were few guests and it didn't fill up while we were there) and that corresponding comments were neither taken into account nor read when making the online reservation. Nevertheless, we were offered a table (legroom not included). Once we parked we were promptly forgotten. The gentleman behind the counter became aware of us after a good 20 minutes and ultimately sent one of the employees to us. About the food: Unfortunately, the tortellini were cold in the middle and the bread only came after the cheese plate. Overall it seemed very disorganized and the value for money was somewhere in the range of poor. My friend only told me good things about you, but unfortunately it's now clear to us that we won't be coming back. PS: The new colleague who was trained that evening was not responsible for us.

Very good food and wheat on tap.

Unfortunately it's not like it used to be... good but different now. Ambiance still like before, rustic and beautiful. Audience completely different, no longer our thing. But it's definitely great for people who are getting to know it now. Starter still great. Service made an effort and was friendly.

Simply a cozy place with tradition. The meal was okay. Unfortunately today the starters were baked hot on top but cold on the bottom. The cheese platter on the house plate was rather unspectacular, and despite the desire for strong cheese, the cheese lacked flavor overall. The farmer's plate, on the other hand, was good. The service was very friendly. On Saturday there was loud party music (to my liking) early on. Overall, recommended if it weren't for the cold "warm" starters.

Mit mehren Mädels den Abend verbracht. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Preise sind super. Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam, haben sich sehr super um uns gekümmert, aber die Musik war leider VIEL ZU LAUT. Trotz nachfragen ob man die Musik ein Tick leiser machen kann, hatte sich an der Lautstärke nichts geändert. Man konnte sich nur sehr schwer unterhalten. Das war extrem ätzend…. SCHADE…. Sonst wäre der Abend perfekt gewesen.

Bedienungen Zum Teil überfordert. Zweimal Weihnachtsfeier dieses Jahr dort gehabt, beide Male Diskussionen mit Bedienung. Tisch für 11 reserviert, Buchung auch bestätigt, Bedienung hat behauptet es wäre nur ein Neuner reserviert. Essen war aber gut.

Wie der Name schon sagt, viel Kâse zur Auswahl. Für Vegetarier top.

Super schneller und lieber Service. Das Essen war lecker und absolut fair im Preis. Das Gebäude hat für mich Atmosphäre. Auch mit der Parkplatzsuche hatten wir keinerlei Probleme. Wirklich toll.

Die Käseplatte Komplett ist sehr lecker. Durch die Anreichung auf diversen Platten und Tellern ist das Essen sehr kommunikativ. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr freundlich und nett, ab und an haben diese aber sehr viel zu tun.

Update : nach einem Jahr noch mal ausprobiert. Fazit : es hat sich was getan !! Super nette und schnelle Bedienung, Essen sehr lecker, tolle Musik, klasse Stimmung ! Wir werden den Käs jetzt wieder öfter besuchen ! Unterbesetzung an einem Freitag Abend, dementsprechend lange Wartezeiten auf Getränke. Longdrinks hätten alle als alkoholfrei durchgehen können, Salat wurde erst auf Nachfragen serviert. Unterirdische Organisation. So schnell werden wir nicht wiederkommen !!!

Es war furchtbar laut. Man konnte sich nicht unterhalten. Dann wurde die Musik kreischend laut angestellt dazu.

Bim Käs gilt als Institution der Kneipen/Gaststätten in Siegen, weshalb man da schon mal hin müsste. Das Ambiente ist schon sehr dunkel und sehr „used“ da die Tische bekritzelt sind, etc. Das ist natürlich Geschmackssache und schreckt natürlich bestimmt ein paar Gäste ab. Jedoch sind die Käseplatten ein Genuss der Auswahl und wirklich empfehlenswert. Mit einem guten Bier passt es perfekt und man kann dort einen schönen Abend verbringen.

Die Kult Kneipe seid meiner Jugend..

Ein wunderbar gemütliches Restaurant im Stile einer alten Kneipe sehr freundliches und flottes Personal sehr schmackhafte Speisen alles in allem ein sehr schönes Erlebnis dort zu essen. Wer möchte kann sich auch gerne auf den Tischen verewigen dort gibt es dutzende kleine und größere Kunstwerke.

Alles super Essen war sehr lecker und Getränke sofort am Tisch.

Wer Käse-Liebhaber ist, ist hier nicht richtig. Wir sind mit Wunsch auf Käselastige Gerichte dort hingegan, und waren enttäuscht dass die einzigen Käse (!) Gerichte, kalte Platten waren (ja, es gibt auch Pizza, Salat, und Tortellini mit käse, aber eben nicht als Hauptzutat). Die bestellte Käseplatte kam am Tisch an, und der Käse hatte eine Konsistenz und Wärme als hätte die Platte schon mehrere Stunden außerhalb der Kühlung verbracht. Dies war nicht sehr appetitlich. Die Pizzen waren lecker, jedoch fiel es sehr schwer diese zu schneiden da die Messer so stumpf waren dass man damit nicht einmal mehr Butter hätte schneiden können. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Das Ambiente ist wie immer sehr urig und gemütlich. Der Service ist grottenschlecht, und das wohl nicht erst seit Kurzem, wie uns gesagt wurde. Die warmen Speisen waren aufgrund dessen, das wir früh da waren sehr schnell da und auch reichlich. Die Pizza war klasse, Tortellini und Salat gut.Da wir die Hausplatte bestellt haben, sollte im Anschluss dann noch die Käseplatten kommen. Nach 1,5 Stunden kamen diese auch (derTisch wurde bis dahin nicht abgeräumt)....wir waren sprachlos. Zwei Miniteller mit ein paar Scheiben Käse, dafür reichlich Gurken. Für sieben Personen. Klar könnte man nachbestellen, aber aufgrund des ständigen Übersehens der hinteren Tische wollten wir es nicht mehr drauf ankommen lassen, nochmal 1,5 Stunden zu warten. Es wurde auch nicht mehr nach Getränken gefragt. So saßen wir auch auf dem Trockenen. Leider hatten wir noch unsere früheren Besuche im Kopf, wo alles Bestens war. Somit waren wir echt enttäuscht. Kleiner Tipp am Rande: Wenn man nur neues Personal hat, sollten diese Tische zugewiesen bekommen und nicht alle kreuz und quer laufen lassen. Auch wäre es nicht schlecht, in so einem Fall den Laden nicht voll zu besetzen.
