Big Papa Burger & Steakhouse Gerolstein in Gerolstein

Tried the restaurant for the first time and it will be the last time. Service was almost non-existent, a table that came after us was cleared beforehand and cashed in while we waited about 30 minutes until someone even asked us if everything was ok. Even after we said we would like to pay, they kept us waiting. We were the only table in the restaurant at the time. In general it was really nice in the shop, but the atmosphere was very cool and the food was so-so. Looked good. However, my steak was quite tough and the salad dressing was far too acidic. We had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks even though there were only 2 other tables when we arrived. Service staff were completely absent for a long time and otherwise sat at the front of the table and chatted after all the drinks and dishes were out.

We were early in the evening, so there wasn't much going on at the time. Everything was exactly how you wanted it. Therefore full marks. When we are in the area again we will stop by again. The amount of space and spaciousness were also impressive. You didn't feel oppressed, as is unfortunately the case in many restaurants. Also very important for me..... The meat was cooked perfectly... and the temperature was great....6 stars..👍

Burgers were very tasty and the salads are certainly large enough. Food restrictions were taken into account. This way we could get the salad without tomatoes. The staff was friendly. They don't come spontaneously, but they responded quickly when we indicated that we wanted something extra.

Recommended as a nearby “eating option” by Eifel Adventures. There were five of us there and everyone enjoyed it. Prices are reasonable and OK. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

We were here in July 2024. I am writing a review for tourists. We encountered a problem in western Germany. It is impossible to eat from 16:00 to 18:00. Restaurant kitchens are closed. We passed 4 restaurants on the way to Belgium and all of them were closed at this time. Thank you for working and feeding us. I ordered a steak. He's great. The meat is soft and juicy. The service is excellent. Served in English. The atmosphere is great. The prices are very good. Not high for Europe. The check for two was up to 50 euros. I recommend it.

Unfortunately you can't give less stars because: first you wait up to 1 hour then instead of a medium steak you get a completely bloody steak. When you told us you got a new one but then it was completely worn out and hard as a rock... you could hardly chew... swimming pool like cyclists, it's a disgrace!!! Swimming pool just thrown together, not even mixed and sweet as hell!!! Radler tasted stale!!! You won't come back to this store twice!!! It's a miracle it's still open!!!

A beautifully designed restaurant. However, you should take your time here, as it takes 30-40 minutes for the food. Part of the order is missing, drinks are only served when the order is taken. After that there are no more drinks. The food was tasty, but wasn't served warm. Payment also took a lot of time and was only possible with a gentleman from the kitchen.

We were here on a Sunday lunchtime, from the outside the restaurant looked closed, luckily it wasn't! There was a party platter for the starter and the American burger for the main course. There were three of us in the restaurant. Dad's meal was very tasty, the drinks were picked up and brought to the table quickly! Nice and friendly service. We can only recommend it and will definitely eat there again.

Excellent service on Saturday at 17.00. The steak and burger were excellent. The portions are large. Our food was served within 15 minutes.

I ate a medium steak with fries and a side salad, it was really great. However, the tables were not cleared, e.g. people who left when we arrived were still not cleared almost 1.5 hours later. Otherwise very nice restaurant, friendly staff and the food also tasted very good. Also very dog ​​friendly.

Thursday late lunch: the restaurant is completely empty. Elsewhere this is an indication of problems in service or the kitchen. Not like that here. The service was good but not complicated when there was nothing going on. We were warmly welcomed, were able to push tables together and our order was taken as expected. The food was great. Our children are the most honest critics. Only the side dish (fries) remained and everyone was happy. My BBQ citizen was great. I can only recommend the restaurant.

We are disappointed after the very good reviews so far. But Burgers hardly tasted like anything. As if it just doesn't fit together. Given everything, I would say that the grill surface/pan was not at temperature? Which quickly messes things up. Patty cooked through, but not seared. Tastes like unseasoned minced meat. Bacon still wobbly and light. Buns (bread) slightly burnt. Nuggets for the smallest came 5 minutes later than everything else. Radler non-alcoholic was ordered. They both got one with alcohol... Although we asked again because the menu only offered 0.33l non-alcoholic and we were given a choice of 0.3/0.5l. Really a disappointment overall. I hope for everyone that this is not normal everyday life and that we just had a very bad day.

While shopping at the weekend in Gerolstein, we happened to see the Big Papa burger restaurant. After researching online and having a rough idea of ​​what we would order, we visited the restaurant where this one was Unfortunately there was very little going on in the evening (due to the European Football Championship). The service is friendly and also takes special requests into account. Our dishes (steak + vegetables, veggie burger, brownie) were all super tasty and fresh. Absolute recommendation, thank you for the good food! 😊

Delicious selection of burgers, steaks, finger food, fries and salads. We had the party plate with, among other things, curly fries, sweet potato fries, wedges, mozzarella sticks, chili cheese balls, falafel?! etc... plus three different "dips" we were surprised by the shepherd's salad with feta cheese and fresh mint and the non-alcoholic cocktail 😍😋 highly recommended, good price-performance ratio. Recommended! The food is fine! However, the service is a little different than we are used to in the Netherlands... no asking during the meal if everything is to your liking or if you would like an extra drink. After the main course we had to ask for the dessert menu, while normally this is offered to you. But again... definitely recommended, because the food (including the dessert) was delicious!

The absolute negative experience: As a vegetarian you are served real meat, even though it has been pointed out several times that it should be vegetarian. The visit before: ordered burgers, received others, the reason was that I wasn't there anymore. What's that supposed to mean? The guy is not a restaurateur and never will be. Five of us had dinner there last night and we all loved it. The burgers were all very, very tasty. The service was extremely friendly, but not overly or artificially friendly, but honest. She was very attentive to empty glasses, but not intrusive. They let us chat in peace and didn't give us the feeling that we had to get out on time for closing. Thank you to everyone there. First time trying this place and loved the atmosphere. I got the avocado burger and my husband got the chili cheese burger. Both came with fries and it was so hard to finish the fries after the burger. The burger was big. We also got the party platter for our kids to eat: chicken nuggets, fries, filafels, etc. Definitely a great place to eat. We are American and the waitress was able to speak English so thats a plus as well. The menu was in German and English.

It was just bad from the start, the cola consisted more of water and the steak and the citizen were not cooked and bad, the pepper cream sauce was cream and just bad. When we asked questions and made comments, we were treated unfriendly and it was not acknowledged. The conditions were very unfriendly and it wasn't the best time either. We waited forever for food. In the end we got a bad steak for 30 euros which was served to an unfriendly waiter. Four of us paid 104 euros each for a meal and a drink. The poorly invested 104 of our lives. No recommendations!!!!!!

I ordered for pickup. The phone call was positive. When we arrive there, there are dried orange strips and a dried pomegranate on the counter. The cook came out of the kitchen in civilian clothes. The food was disgusting and terrible. -Fries brown from old fat, -Steak sinewy, streaked with fat and tough, poor quality. -Burger patty was the cheapest frozen meat pressed and over-salted -This party plate with fries, onion rings, etc. looked like it was thrown in (falafel or whatever it was, was very dry). Gehen Sie niemals beim Gelöbnis der Bundeswehr hier her. Man wartet über 2h und der Service ist wirklich schlecht. Es ist viel zu kalt. Selbst die Getränke haben eine Stunde gedauert.

Über 30 Minuten auf eine Bestellung warten. Bestellung mit Getränken und Essen für 4 Personen aufgenommen. Nach 30 Minuten nachgefragt wegen Getränken. Antwort "Ich gebe es weiter". Nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen immer vertröstet. Nach 2 Stunden warten immer noch keine Getränke. Dann bekommt man gesagt die komplette Bestellung ist nicht eingegeben worden. Den Saft Laden kann man vergessen. Beschwerden an vielen anderen Tischen die auch 2 Stunden gewartet haben. Nie mehr wieder. Das Kellnerteam ist unterste Schublade. Nie mehr wieder in diese Bude.

Essen war für mich sehr lecker, aber im Restaurant war es leider eiskalt. Es dauerte lange bis wir unser Essen bekamen und als ich fertig war hatten meine Kollegen immer noch nichts, dass war etwas schade.

Wir kommen regelmäßig und sehr gerne zum Big Papa. Waren bis jetzt immer sehr zufrieden. Wir bestellen meistens den Chicken Burger und Chrispy Chicken Burger mit Country Potatos, immer sehr lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben immer einen Platz erhalten. Sehr schade, dass das Restaurant häufig leer ist.

Stilvoll eingerichtetes Steakhouse mit Burgern, Steaks und Fingerfood. Qualitativ wie quantitativ sind alle Gerichte überaus gut. Der Service ist leicht verbesserungsfähig, dennoch ist Big Papa für einen Besuch zu empfehlen.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Allerdings lässt der Service sehr zu wünschen übrig. Wir waren fast alleine im Lokal und es kam keiner zwischendurch fragen ob wir noch Getränke etc.nach bestellen möchten. Bedienung wenn er gesprochen hat...sehr unfreundlich. Nicht gefragt ob wir getrennt/zusammen oder bar/mit Karte bezahlen wollen.

Richtig gute Steaks zum guten Preis.

Wir waren gestern Abend dort zum Essen und waren sehr begeistert. Das Lokal ist sehr modern und schön eingerichtet, ein bisschen Industrie Flair aber sehr gemütlich. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und das Essen kam schnell und sehr schön angerichtet. Die Burger waren wirklich lecker, die Pommes perfekt und vorallem eine gute Menge von allem. Wir können es jedem empfehlen der gerne Burger isst 👍🏻

Sonntag Mittag war nicht viel los, umso liebevoller und sorgfältiger wurde das Essen zubereitet, optisch und geschmacklich alles sehr gut. Wir hatten Italien Burger, Avocado Burger, Cheeseburger, American Burger und Champignonsalat, siehe Foto: ein Kunstwerk und geschmacklich vom feinsten. Der Service war nett und unaufdringlich, zu den Kindern sehr freundlich. Fazit: Gerne wieder!

Essen ist sehr lecker und eine tolle Location. Leider kommt das Personal nach dem Essen nicht nach Getränken fragen, wodurch man auch schneller wieder aufbricht, anstatt gemütlich sitzen zu bleiben. Zudem wäre es für die Location schön, wenn man durch Besonderheiten auch mehr Kunden anlockt und das Restaurant nicht so "leer" wirkt. Z.B zu den Cocktails eine Happy Hour anbieten.

Ich liebe den vegetarischen Burger mit dem Grillgemüse, sehr lecker. Die Portionsgröße finde ich für den Preis sehr angemessen. Kritik über lange Wartezeiten oder unfreundliches Personal kann ich nicht teilen bzw. habe ich selbst nicht so erlebt. Etwas Hintergrundmusik würde aber meiner Meinung nach das Ambiente noch deutlich aufwerten.

Super gutes Essen und freundliche Bedienung. Empfehlenswert, gerne kommen wir wieder, wenn wir wieder Urlaub in der Eifel machen.

Wir waren gestern Mittag dort und der Chef hat sich unglaublich viel Mühe gegeben, obwohl er ganz alleine war. Essen zubereiten, Bestellungen aufnehmen, abräumen, kassieren und spülen. Ein Mensch für teilweise unmögliche und ungeduldige Gäste. Er rennt und rennt, bleibt sehr freundlich und das Essen, Cheeseburger und Fitness-Salat waren sehr lecker und wunderbar angerichtet. Kompliment an ihn, obwohl ich mir wirklich Sorgen mache, um seine Gesundheit. Alles Gute!!!

Eine Alternative zu anderen Burger-Läden. Ambiente typisch Burger. Geschmacklich alles fein. Steak meiner Mutter war top und Wunsch gemäß. Mein Big Papa Burger war mächtig und lecker. Meine Frau hatte einen Chicken-Burger. Wir waren alle zufrieden und werden wiederkommen.

Nice Restaurant and delicious Steaks and burgers

Hier waren wir 2 mal, Steack ist gut, Burger sind Super. Man sollte allerdings Zeit mitbringen. Es kommt einfach niemand mehr zum Tisch, wenn man sein Essen einmal hat. Beim ersten mal haben wir deshalb auf Nachtisch verzichtet. Beim 2 mal, mit Nachtisch ganze 2 Stunden gebraucht. Hunde sind hier Willkommen!

We hebben hier enkel iets gedronken en mozarellasticks besteld. Het zou een heel leuke zaak kunnen zijn mits aanpassing van echte decoratie... alles erg kaal en koud. En....een beetje muziek zou al heel veel verbeteren aan de sfeer.

Een lekkere Steak in Duitsland vinden is heel lastig. Toch probeer ik het iedere x weer. Ik was dan ook zeer aangenaam verrast. Medium zoals we vroegen, lekker gekruid en veel verse champignons. Alles smaakte prima. Personeel was correct en vriendelijk. Van binnen schoon en leuk aangekleed.

Dit is de beste burger die ik ooit heb gehad. Ik kan de chilli cheese burger echt aanraden!
