A very pleasant establishment in the spirit of American motels with a Hungarian flavor in the person of the owner. Beautiful clean interior, nice and friendly service and very tasty food. This was not my first time here and certainly not my last. This time I had the best chicken wrap of my life. Thank you and I highly recommend it to everyone.

THE restaurant for meat lovers, absolutely recommended! We (2 adults, 2 children) visited the American Diner Passau for the first time yesterday and were absolutely thrilled! Inside, it looks like a typical diner in the USA. Since the owner is from Hungary, the decor is both Hungarian and American, which we really liked! We received a very warm welcome and felt very much at home. We had three burgers with fries, and I treated myself to the spare ribs, as they also offered beef. The last time I had spare ribs was over 10 years ago in the USA. My mouth was already watering with anticipation, and I wasn't disappointed. It was delicious! The meat with the Texas BBQ sauce was simply WOW. The burgers were also incredibly good, and the fries were wonderful too! Thank you so much, we will definitely be back soon! We arrived spontaneously with 11 people right after opening. The owner immediately put the tables together for us, and we were able to sit down comfortably. Since we were a bit pressed for time, the owner suggested we divide all the ordered dishes onto platters and arrange them around the table. This transformed what was supposed to be a simple meal with friends into a cozy family dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service exceptionally friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Since I can only give five stars, that's what I'm giving. Compliments to the owner and the kitchen. These aren't five stars awarded lightly in all three categories: The burgers are outstanding – we opted for the barbecue bacon burger with steakhouse fries on the side. The portions are generous, and you'll definitely leave satisfied. The host, "Big Daddy," is a true character and clearly learned the art of barbecue in the USA – a very pleasant blend of Hungarian-American hospitality. You walk in and immediately feel welcome; there's a very cozy and inviting atmosphere. The music from the jukebox fits the overall impression: someone here has a soft spot for good old-fashioned America. Perfectly harmonious! At just under €30 per person for a main course, side dish, and a drink, it's actually quite a bargain in this location, in my opinion. We'll definitely be back and will recommend "Big Daddy" to others!

Mixed feelings: The food was really good, you could tell it was homemade and the attention to detail was great. However, there was a bit too much meat – less would have been more. The owner is very friendly and the decor is fantastic; you almost feel like you're in an American movie. Unfortunately, it was too expensive in our opinion.

A charming, American-style diner with friendly service and fresh wings! Stranded by train, I was served just before closing time. Luckily, the kitchen was still open! The wings were freshly breaded and very juicy. At just under €12 for a tea and wings, the price was very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!

I had barbecue pork ribs 🍖 with fries and coleslaw + a shandy for €25. The meat came from the smoker, was tender and crispy, and the sauce was amazing 😋 Tip: The owner is from my second home, Hungary 🇭🇺, and they regularly cook Hungarian specialties (limited quantities). Be sure to ask about them 🤞 (nyilván beszélnek magyarul is 🥳)

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat one evening while traveling from the Bavarian Forest to Passau. The food was delicious, and thanks to the Schlemmerblock (a discount voucher booklet), we got two dishes for the price of one. A fantastic restaurant with a lot of heart! The owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating – you can immediately tell that there's real passion at work here. He learned his craft cooking BBQ in Texas, and you can taste it: The typical, strong pepper flavor of Texas BBQ gives the dishes that special something. The chicken burger was wonderfully crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and simply delicious! Combined with the friendly service and pleasant atmosphere, it was an all-around successful experience.

We ate there today. The owner was very friendly and the food was very good. The burgers weren't greasy at all and tasted delicious.

I was here once and never again. From the outside, everything looked fine: service, ambiance, etc. But at the end, I realized I was overcharged. I ordered chicken wings, and the menu says they include dip. But on the bill, I was charged an extra €1.50 for the dip. It's not much, but it's the principle that matters to me. Paying around €15 for six wings and a drink is a bit outrageous.

There were three of us and we ate outside. The Chicken Cheese Bacon Burger is highly recommended. What should have been crispy was crispy. What should have been warm was warm. What should have been juicy was juicy. A generous portion. The sweet potato fries went well with the cocktail sauce. Chili cheese nuggets, chicken wings, and mac 'n' cheese were also top-notch. A surprising highlight were the ribs. These are often advertised as "smoked" and "slow & low" in other restaurants. Here, it's actually true! You can taste the love and dedication to the product – a flavor explosion!!! The prices are absolutely justified and fair for the quality of the food. Today, August 3, 2025, we visited this American diner for the first time with five people, including two children. After some initial skepticism, I was very pleasantly surprised. We had two spare ribs, one sweet potato fries, and two different 🍔. The portions are really generous; everyone was full and got the leftovers to pack. I've never eaten such a good coleslaw as the one they served with the spare ribs. The ambiance is great. All the food was plentiful and delicious. Everything is freshly prepared. I particularly appreciated the personal service. We received very friendly service and were entertained. The chef speaks to the guests like good friends and creates a warm atmosphere. This definitely has to be repeated. It deserves all the stars it can give. Thank you, Big Daddy

While passing through Croatia, we stopped at Big Daddy's Diner, had a delicious meal, and then returned to the RV park. The long journey was worth it; the service was great, even the teens thought.

I was there for the first time yesterday, and it certainly won't be the last. Following a recommendation, I ordered the ribs and I have to say I've never eaten better ones. Not even in the US. The chef told me he learned his trade in Texas, and you could tell he puts his heart and soul into his cooking. The interior is typically American, like an old diner. There's a dry-aging cabinet next to the jukebox, so you're sure to get a first-class steak here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

A special mention goes to the owner of the establishment, who describes himself as "service, cook, and boss" – and that in the best sense of the word! He not only gave us a friendly welcome, but was also incredibly attentive and warm, especially towards our little daughter. With a charming smile and little jokes, he immediately won her over. It's rare to experience such genuine hospitality. An all-around successful visit. We highly recommend this diner, especially for families with children.

The restaurant was very stylishly decorated and had a vibe from the 70s in America, really top notch. A lovely dinner, just as you'd expect in the USA, with a warm welcome from the owner himself. They serve everything from homemade milkshakes to iced tea. They gave recommendations; the three of us had a burger with fries. It tasted great, everything from the bun to the meat was delicious. A large burger, the knife positioned in the middle, making it easy to eat, juicy and well-seasoned. The fries were also delicious with homemade sauce. We were all full afterward. Everything was freshly prepared and stylishly presented. A large selection and great service rounded the whole thing off. The boss is a very nice guy. If you like burgers and the 50's lifestyle, you can't ignore Big Daddy.

We got lost in Passau (thanks DB) and found this great diner. Great burgers and chicken fillets! We had a chicken burger and a cheese burger! Very large portions and great service. This diner actually belongs in a big city. You find something like that very, very rarely.
