Whenever we spend a few days on vacation in the Harz, we stop at the Bergschänke at least once. Very nice landlady, food very lovingly prepared and very, very tasty! Prices are absolutely okay. We look forward to next time.

Very rustic restaurant with GDR charm with really well prepared food. Everything tasted excellent. We had spiced meat and goose leg with Brussels sprouts/red cabbage and fried potatoes/dumplings. The innkeeper was very nice and friendly. In short.....highly recommended.

It's best to order your food by phone in advance, then it'll be quicker.

We ended up here more by chance and had such delicious game dishes that we came here again two days later to eat and were just as warmly welcomed and served. On the second visit, the game dishes were also perfectly prepared and highly recommended.

Went to the Bergschänke yesterday after a hike. We were warmly welcomed and given a table. After the soothing broth, we had roast venison and knuckle with kale. The food was very tasty and everything was freshly prepared. The price/performance ratio is very good. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. 🙂

A great and well-attended rustic restaurant. We were there in the evening and had a delicious and plentiful meal. There was an extra card for children. Great 👍... for the waiting time, i.e. until the food was served, there were games available so you could keep yourself busy. We and our son enjoyed it wonderfully 😌.. large and generous portions, great value for what was served, 👍.. if we are in the area again we will definitely eat again at the lovely innkeeper. Thanks

It is a traditional place where you can try German food in the Harz. Everything was delicious and the service was very good. The prices are good. I highly recommend this place.

Actually, visiting this inn was a spontaneous, random decision due to the lack of available alternatives. But it turned out to be an absolute stroke of luck. The selection of dishes is extensive, real home cooking and exceeded our expectations. The friendly, family service is also worth highlighting. Only the ambience is rather simple, but this is made up for by the really good food. I would recommend the inn as an insider tip and would be happy to come back here at any time.

A very quaint and cozy restaurant in the heart of Straßberg. We landed here on our hiking tour to the Harzer Wanderkaiser. It's definitely worth coming here!!! The staff is very polite, friendly and accommodating!

We came here based on the good reviews and were not disappointed. We made a reservation for dinner half an hour in advance, we were served very friendly and quickly, the food was very, very tasty. The portions are really generous and the value for money is totally fine. We would definitely come again!

It is wonderful. The innkeepers are a bit brittle at first, but then very warm. The food is hearty and the prices are very reasonable. It's still running here and it tastes good!!!!

I saw the Bergschänke purely by chance because I was on the street for work and I was fascinated by the smell from the kitchen. We spontaneously decided to have lunch there and were impressed by the taste of the food and the price-performance ratio. Simply great. A very friendly run restaurant. Can only be recommended. We only found the Bergschänke nke by chance. We were warmly welcomed there and served in a friendly manner without a long wait. The food is very tasty and absolutely recommended. We'll come back again on our next Harz holiday. We wish the landlady and her staff all the best and look forward to seeing you again.

Brilliant, we stopped here on the way back to Braunlage, so we stopped in at the Gute Stube. We were speechless when we came in, the restaurant was packed with people, something we don't even know today. The seats were assigned to us and the food and drinks came to the table quickly. The food tastes very good, there is nothing comparable far and wide. So if you are moving in the Selketal and are hungry after the hike, definitely go there. We also have to go there again, first collect stamps and then have a delicious meal, so it's nice to drive a kilometer or two. Highly Recommended.

Totally friendly welcome when making a reservation. Eating took about 30 minutes, even the cola tasted good, which was no longer the case in many other restaurants at the moment. My dish was great, only the onions got a bit of extra browning :P but that's manageable, pasta, the sauce tasted different where you say you don't know :) Schnitzel was also very well done. Dessert was also delicious and looked good :) Service was also super nice and accommodating, that's exactly how it should be many times, so many people can cut a slice like that :) So even if you're driving for an hour, I'd be happy to do it again :) I can only recommend it
