We ate here today and were absolutely delighted! The food was delicious, classic home-style cooking just the way you like it. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive; we immediately felt welcome. Overall, a truly wonderful visit – we'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

We visited for lunch on the Monday of Christmas week, having taken the steam train from Quedlinburg to Straßberg. The restaurant was really lovely, the staff were very friendly and patient with our limited German and the food was excellent. Probably some of the best food we've eaten on our whole trip! We had the schnitzel and venison, and a smaller schnitzel portion was available for an older smaller eater which was perfect and meant no food was wasted. Everything was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty! A few minutes walk from the train station makes this the perfect lunch spot for a day out on the steam train!

Six of us spontaneously dropped into the mountain inn on Saturday after a lovely hike. They kindly offered to let us eat before making our evening reservations. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and quick service. Everything was perfect. After 80 minutes, we were happily and contentedly on our way home. There were four of us, and luckily we had reserved a table. The food was really very good, and reasonably priced. The mountain inn has a cozy atmosphere, and the owners are friendly. We'd love to come back again.

A really nice restaurant with really delicious food.

The food was solid. The wild boar roast, the gravy, and the pear with cranberries were tasty. The red cabbage lacked a bit of zest, but was pleasantly firm to the bite. The dumplings were sticky and didn't impress me. I wouldn't have had reason to complain if it weren't for the approximately 6 cm long hair on one of my husband's croquettes. My husband says that's usually not a problem, as hair is made of protein. However, we can perhaps agree that it makes you feel uneasy, as you don't know the head belonging to it. We finished our meals and informed the waiter about the hair. It did bother him. But unfortunately not bothersome enough to at least remove the cheapest drink from the menu as compensation. Hence, unfortunately, this solid rating.

Very tasty food and fair prices! We looked on Google for restaurants and decided on this one. Luckily, we had a table reserved for dinner that afternoon. If you don't reserve in advance, you can quickly find yourself out of luck and not getting a table. If we're ever in the area again for a vacation, we'll definitely come back.

While looking for a restaurant for dinner, we came across the Bergschänke restaurant. It has a modern yet cozy atmosphere and very friendly and attentive service. If you love farmer's breakfast, schnitzel, or spicy meat, this is the place for you. The food is so delicious that we visited the restaurant three times in quick succession. Last-minute reservations were also easily possible if you're a bit flexible with your time. The value for money is very good. We will be back!

We were traveling by motorcycle. Despite the restaurant being full, we received prompt and friendly service. The food was excellent, just like grandma makes. All three of us were thrilled! It was good value for money. We'd be happy to go back!

First, I'll start with the food. All in all, it was delicious. The salmon with hollandaise sauce, salad, and tagliatelle was very tasty. It was nicely crispy but not dry, so it was very well cooked. It was also well seasoned. Instead of the tagliatelle, I ordered fries, which were also crispy and salted. The salad had a very tasty dressing, slightly acidic from the yogurt. The staff were very friendly and regularly asked if I was enjoying my meal. They were attentive and concerned about the well-being of their guests. The ambiance was pleasant, but it wasn't special. But everyone should judge for themselves. In conclusion, it's a very good restaurant. I would probably have paid a little more than €20 for the salmon and a large Sprite alone. Otherwise, the prices didn't seem particularly high.

A very good and plentiful lunch, and for less than €15. Wow! I've never experienced anything like this with such a large portion—schnitzel with creamed mushrooms, fries, and salad—anywhere in Germany. Everyone charges well over €23.00. All the best to the owner and staff.

Friendly service, very good food, and generous portions. There was a larger group in the next room, so the wait for our dishes was quite long. But the excellent food was worth it! We ordered roasted pork and two knuckles with fried potatoes. The meat was tender as butter, practically falling off the bone. The prices are also reasonable. All in all, we were very satisfied. We would eat here again.

We went there twice during our vacation. The restaurant was always packed (and once there was another group in the dining room). But they found space for us on both days. Due to the rush, everything took a while, but it was always worth it. The food was very good, the service friendly, and the prices more than reasonable. If you can, make a reservation.

Perfect stopover on our bike tour! We were on a bike tour through the Harz Mountains with our family and stopped at the Bergschänke in Straßberg – what a stroke of luck! The location in the heart of the village is wonderful and ideal for Harz tours. This family-run restaurant impresses in every way: The couple who run it are warm and welcoming, the service was incredibly friendly and took the time for a pleasant conversation. The food was fantastic – excellent quality, huge portions, and more than fair prices. Everything was perfectly prepared, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the plates were even preheated. Despite a full house (luckily we had a reservation!), the food arrived super quickly. The decor is fresh and modern, and the accessible restroom is a particularly nice feature. In nice weather, you can sit outside on the street. Highly recommended for all visitors to the Harz Mountains! We're already advertising it to our friends and will definitely be back. Everything is just perfect here – service, food, price, and atmosphere. Thank you for the great stay!

We had a very good meal there in a lovely setting and received exceptionally friendly service. All in all, SUPER, and at reasonable prices, too. Thank you so much for this, and continued success. My wife and I booked a hotel room in Wernigerode and then set off on an adventure in the Harz Mountains. The evening before, we studied the menu to see where we could eat game dishes and chose that. Well, if you're passing by. Hey, guys, go eat there. It was packed, we asked if there was room for the two of us. Of course, a very nice host until the very end. We also spoke with the kind soul in the kitchen, and I asked if I could take photos of the food. That's just how it is. Answer: not just take photos, but enjoy the food, and I did. She then came back and wanted to know if it was good. Well, that's a bit of an understatement, it was very good. By the way, there was a salad plate with the schnitzel, which I couldn't photograph; it was brought out and was already gone. Fresh and very tasty. I'm advertising for these two lovely people.

We visited the Bergschänke restaurant as a family. All in all, a very good restaurant with German cuisine and exceptionally friendly service. When we arrived, it was half an hour before the kitchen closed, but despite a short wait, we were still assigned a table. The food is like "Grandma's Kitchen" and was completely convincing. The cook even came to our table and chatted with us briefly. You could tell that the cooking here is done with heart and, above all, knowledge. Accordingly, not only does the service category receive top marks (5/5), but the food was also really good with 4.7/5. Only the ambiance is not exceptionally good, but it still receives a pleasant and clean rating of 3.7/5. The price/performance ratio is absolutely perfect; we can only recommend it. This results in an average of 4.5, although we round up to 5 stars for the overall impression.

We drove here from Friedrichsbrunn because of the positive reviews. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 and the value for money was excellent. If you want good, affordable food, you have to stop here. The staff was very friendly.

A typical village inn, in a good way. The decor is rustic, simple, clean, and tidy. The staff is direct but friendly. Just what you'd expect from a small village inn. This continues with the food. They serve exactly what you'd expect, plus a few regional game specialties. It's not Michelin-starred cuisine, but then again, you don't expect that, and most importantly: it tastes good! The price is also completely reasonable. We paid around €55 for three main courses and drinks for three people. We just happened to pass by here at lunchtime and stopped spontaneously because we were hungry. And we didn't regret it. Since we drive this route once a year, we'll be stopping here for a break in the coming years.

Today we hiked from Neudorf to Straßberg and had lunch at the Bergschänke. The restaurant is very nice, clean and cozy, the couple is very friendly and personable. The food is fresh and everything is homemade, nothing was out of a bag, and very tasty. We are thrilled and will definitely come back to eat here on our next holiday in our holiday home.
