The food was tasty and plentiful. We did some of the service ourselves. We were happy to assist the young man.

Wonderful location on the Danube. Great beer garden.

The knuckle of pork was okay. It's surprising that after the two days of rest, there was no roast pork, shoulder of pork, or mixed roast. The meatballs were 80% bread rolls. So you can safely skip the white bread with the salad. Self-service isn't a problem, but the bar staff should at least be friendly. They seemed completely overwhelmed to me, and they had to make personal phone calls in between. All in all, too much money for mediocre food. But finally, I have to praise the beer; they should stick with it.

We only stopped by for coffee and a piece of cake. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't drinkable, and the cake was frozen solid. What a pity... That's another highlight of the restaurant. The service was perfect and very attentive.

The schnitzel was good but in the beer garden it is self-service and you wait about 45 minutes for your food but it wasn't very busy

They have a big problem with their employees. In the beer garden, you had to wait in line for your food and drinks. When the food is ready, you have to go and get it yourself from the main restaurant across the street. You also have to clear up the tables yourself. It's a bit of an adventure. But most importantly: the food is delicious...

Oberndorf is a small town right on the Danube. The brewery brews a delicious beer.

So we made a reservation, it wasn't that busy, we had to wait two hours for our food, even for a dumpling with sauce, that can't be right, you have to walk back and forth three times to order something, I got the wrong food today and it was lukewarm and not cooked through

Excellent beer, friendly service, and very good food, right on the Danube Cycle Path. WARNING: It's extremely difficult not to get stuck here! Best planned for the end of a tour ;-) Tip: Wild boar with pumpkin seed coating and goat cheese

After we (6 people) asked twice and were told each time that it would only be 20 minutes, we gave up after two hours, paid for the drinks, and went home hungry. IMPOSSIBLE!

We were there on Father's Day without a reservation, but were told it would take a while to order. It wasn't a problem for us, but waiting two hours for the food was definitely too long. The food was very good, but unfortunately, it didn't make up for it. The service was completely overwhelmed and very unfriendly. It's a shame we won't be coming again...

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. On Father's Day, we had to wait over two hours for our food. While the food itself was very tasty, the staff was completely overwhelmed and significantly understaffed. At the end, we were rather rudely asked to leave because the restaurant was closing – a disappointing end to an already exhausting visit.

I can only recommend this place based on past visits, as the food and beer are actually good... if you get anything. After waiting for almost two hours on Mother's Day, we finally left without food. Even with all due respect for the staff shortage, this is no longer understandable. It's a shame, and actually, zero points.

I've been here several times in the last few months, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. While I was able to enjoy one of the best suckling pigs with dumplings and sauce six months ago, my last few visits have been disappointing. Wiener Schnitzel, Käsespätzle and suckling pig were average to below average, and the waiting times for the food were far too long each time. It's a shame that something seems to have changed for the worse here.

Leider keine schöne Erfahrung. Wir mussten 2 Stunden warten ... Es gab Probleme in der Küche, das kann vorkommen, aber wie damit umgegangen wurde, war unprofessionell und nicht freundlich. Das Essen war dann auch leider nicht so, wie ich es schon erlebt hatte: zu teuer und die sogenannte "Gänsekeue" war winzig, war das Ente?? Mit winziger Menge Blaukraut dazu - kleinkariert. Schäuferle waren trocken, Forelle war gutaber kaum Beilagen - für den Preis nicht in Ordnung.

Nice, rustic brewery restaurant with good food and even better beer. A Bavarian restaurant that unfortunately only rarely exists anymore. An inn with character where there is also a regulars' table and a wood oven.

Despite making a reservation and asking the waiter several times, we left hungry after 1.5 hours... It can't be that after so long, order forms keep being brought forward in the kitchen. The service couldn't help it, it was very friendly.

We waited for more than one hour only to order our food. Drinks took more that 30 minutes to be delivered. It did not really help that the food was good if you have to wait that long.

We sat in the half-empty pub for 35 minutes without being able to place a drink order or food order. Other guests also waited forever and were visibly annoyed. The service was severely overwhelmed. We drove again.

Update September 2024: Unfortunately I have to downgrade the rating to 4 stars. The food is still very good, unfortunately there are massive problems with the service - the bar in the beer garden was not occupied when we visited this season, you had to get both the beer and the food from the inn yourself. You are notified with a beeper, which is problematic for several reasons: on the one hand, the constant beeping in the beer garden is annoying, on the other hand, the devices do not work reliably; during our visits there were several "false alarms", so that you were constantly having to switch between the beer garden and the beer garden Had to run back and forth from the tavern. Only the pub itself continues to serve, so the downgrading of the rating mainly relates to the beer garden. Beautiful beer garden right on the Danube cycle path. Unlike many other beer gardens in this location, it's not a tourist trap - the food is great, in Regensburg you can easily pay 20-40% more for it. Beer is available for self-service pickup, and food is also ordered at the tap and then delivered to the tables. Works perfectly, I would like to see it in more beer gardens because you don't have to wait for your beer. Delicious beer from our own brewery. Only recommended. Beer garden and restaurant very clean and well maintained. P.S.: I have always found the landlady to be very nice, of course, sometimes there is a somewhat harsher saying, but if you can't handle that, you shouldn't go to an old Bavarian beer garden.

Nobody answers the phone. According to the website: open. After 1 hour walk: closed from 2 p.m. This is how you scare away customers. Berghammer never again!

With a full house, there was a bit of a wait for the food because of the general staff shortage. Food very tasty. Beer is too expensive for a brewery since there are no transport costs.

Every time we come to Regensburg, we need to go to Berghammer! Love the beer and the biergarten. The food is great and the staff is very nice. Always a highlight, like a second home. A must-stop when cycling on the Donau. See you soon!

Good food, nice service. BUT: what we had to experience here cannot go unmentioned. Unfortunately, after a few minutes of our stay, the members of the regulars' table complained loudly about our children, who had run from the square on the dam. “Scratch” was the most polite term here. When she was spoken to, we adults were threatened with beatings from both men and women. Of course, the Berghammer restaurant can't help it, hence our star rating. We'll be back, it wasn't our first time there...

We wanted to stop in today as a couple and ordered 2 beers and 2 soups. When we ordered it was said that the keg was empty and the beer would be brought to the place. After we had already eaten we still didn't get any beer. Then asked for money back and went somewhere else.

Shady beer garden, self-service, food is served via chip system. We waited over half an hour for food on a Sunday when there wasn't really much activity. Others who ordered after us received their food before us. (We also had warm dishes) We were only able to get our food when we asked. This was okay. The chanterelles in herb cream were a little too seasoned (pepper) for my taste. My partner's salad was missing the baguette. That's why we didn't ask specifically because we didn't want to wait forever until we might get another one

Very tasty food, also gluten-free upon request. Service at the beer garden was a bit chaotic. ...but really nice, honest and kind-hearted. For gluten-free food you speak directly to the kitchen, the chef knew his stuff and makes everything fresh. Very nice! We'd love to come back. ...and if you can drink the gluten-containing beer, it's very tasty! Hollerschorle was a good gluten-free alternative.

The food was delicious, the beer too. It wasn't so hot under the chestnuts either.

A very cozy restaurant with a small beer garden and a highly motivated team. Drinks are served immediately and food orders are taken. So you only have to wait in line once and the buzzer will inform you at the table when the food is ready. This means you can sit relaxed at the table and enjoy with several people. Our fish dishes (daily menu) were very good and the atmosphere was extremely cozy. The team deserves special praise. All employees that day were highly motivated, warm and professional. A brief rain shower and the team immediately put up umbrellas so that guests could continue to sit in the beer garden. This is exactly how you want a relaxing stay. We will be happy to come back.

To this day it was our regular restaurant - ate there at least once every other weekend. Today we waited 90 minutes for the order or the food - we left. Incredible. Despite repeated questions... the young man should think about it... somehow there is something wrong with the system. Greetings from table 45.

Best beer in the Regensburg area with very good food!

The food is excellent, the service staff deserves their name, they are very friendly. I felt very comfortable here and the price-performance ratio is absolutely fine!

We have an annual meeting of former hotel management students. This year with us in Bad-Abbach. All of them are restaurateurs/hoteliers from Upper Bavaria/South Tyrol/Franconia + Lake Constance. Summary of everyone: Great beer, delicious food, refreshingly funny service, very homely atmosphere. Thanks for that nice evening!

Excursion beer garden with its own brewery. The food is of simple to medium quality at medium to high prices. The result of the order can vary greatly from day to day. The beer garden is self-service. The atmosphere in the beer garden is simple. The large trees, the beautiful facade and, above all, the area invite you to stop by. Lots of cyclists and lots of Porsche drivers. The inn itself (indoor dining) is not worth a further journey.

Unfortunately, our former favorite beer garden has deteriorated greatly. The glasses aren't cleared away, you have to queue forever to get a drink and the roast pork was dried out and the coleslaw dried out. …. It's a shame about the beautiful beer garden...

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, although according to its internet listing it should have been open. It's a shame, we would have liked to eat there so we could only buy beer in the house brewery.

Unfortunately everything is only self-service, there is a constant queue at the bar, ordering food at the bar takes forever. The beeper to get food keeps beeping incorrectly. We went to get it 3 times but nothing was ready. Food has to be picked up at the restaurant and carried across the street Nothing for older people, especially not if you have a disability. The food itself is no longer what it once was: dumplings old and firm, coleslaw tasteless, suckling pig dry and hard. It's a real shame about what used to be a really good and recommendable restaurant with a nice beer garden .

What happened here? We have been driving here from Regensburg to eat roast pork for years. What's so bad about roast pork is unbelievable, pieces of meat that are already dried out and extremely full of fat, the dumplings not as fluffy as usual and the coleslaw on top was already dried out from standing for so long. To get a beer we had to wait in line for at least 15 minutes in the beer garden. And now you get a beeper that immediately gives a false alarm. Constant beeping and no more service. We were here a few weeks ago when the weather was last good and everything was fine. Now it's just a disaster. By the way, the tables are no longer cleared, the tables in the beer garden and in front of the inn look absolutely terrible. What just happened here? Such a shame.

They were very tasty and large portions. We all enjoyed it very much and despite the stress, the waitress still had a smile on her face and was very friendly, which is unfortunately no longer a given these days. We'd love to come back when we're in the area again.

A Bavarian beer garden right on the Danube, the kind we've missed since Nuremberg. Definitely stop here. Beer as well as the food are highly recommended. Vegetables were fresh, the asparagus was on point, the absolute highlight on both plates was the sauce 👌🏼

Ordering drinks was only possible after about 15 minutes, ordering food was only possible after 45 minutes, as the only waiter in the restaurant was unfortunately completely overwhelmed, even though there weren't too many guests. We were put off several times that drinks had to be found somewhere else and only then could we order food. A meal was brought completely wrong, the roast pork was completely dried out and hard and the Gröstl contained completely dried out pork (probably leftover schnitzel) instead of roast meat as stated. All in all, unfortunately absolutely not recommended, even if the waiter was really very nice, the service and especially the food were anything but good. What a shame for this actually very nice old restaurant!

A particularly popular excursion restaurant and brewery restaurant. Located directly on a popular cycling route. But it is also recommended for hikers who are on the Jurasteig! Children's playground nearby!

With the previous hosts you wouldn't have been sent home as a regular guest! Without Hilde it would no longer be our choice.

The potato salad is homemade and super tasty with the schnitzel on the side.

Were simply ignored this afternoon when we visited the Berghammer inn. Apparently there is no need to use it. We then drove to the Gasthaus Fanderl in Matting, had an excellent meal there and were served extremely nicely!!
