We showed up there today completely underdressed and without a reservation. We received a wonderful welcome, and the waiter was a little skeptical for a second because we wanted to share every dish. There was an extra charge of €2.50 for plates. The Kaspressknödel soup was absolutely delicious. They probably even browned the marrow bones in the oven beforehand to give the soup that extra depth of flavor. The main course, a pork shoulder, was incredibly tender and delicious. The service was always attentive and more than friendly, but never intrusive. A clear competitor to Meinzer in Reising. I was very impressed by the high quality and the overall atmosphere. Definitely worth a try.

I was there for the first time today. The ambiance was typical of a restaurant. The service was very good and extremely attentive. But the food... It's unbelievably good! It deserves 6 stars for that alone. I'll definitely be back.

Our wedding catering was a 10/10! I was already a delighted guest at the restaurant before, and this buffet took it up a notch. All of our guests were equally satisfied. We had, among other dishes, vitello tonnato, antipasti, fillet wrapped in sage and bacon, pesto linguine, and more (without giving too much away), our perfect Mediterranean catering!

We visited Gasthof Zirngibl three times during our vacation. The food was excellent and the portions were above average – we even had to have our food wrapped. The staff is super friendly, the food came quickly, and the value for money is excellent. Highly recommended! Especially the great beer garden.

I haven't had a Bavarian meal in a long time. I went in with very excited anticipation. There was no friendliness or welcoming atmosphere; I didn't even get eye contact at the reception! Bringing the menu, ordering drinks and food, serving, and of course, taking the payment—everything was so tiresome for the waiter 😕 Normal, the food wasn't bad at all, except for the fact that it took a bit longer.

Very tasty food: amazing venison loin. The spinach dumplings are also highly recommended. A surprisingly large selection of vegetarian dishes. The beer garden is a really nice place to sit.

The food was quite okay. I had hake with herb tagliatelle on Mediterranean vegetables. The fish was good but slightly translucent. Perhaps it was also slightly more tender on the plate. Unfortunately, the tagliatelle had a lot of mint, which overpowered everything and wasn't to my liking. Perhaps the herbs could have been mentioned in the description. With the Mediterranean vegetables, I was expecting sautéed or grilled vegetables. What was served was a ratatouille, which was quite okay but unfortunately too overpowering for the fish. Perhaps that should have been mentioned as well.

Personally, the portion was way too large for me. I think it's better to offer smaller portions at the same time, which would be cheaper. Not everyone wants or can take leftovers. Throwing them away isn't an option! Here, more than half was left over. The quality and taste were very good, and I highly recommend it!

Please read to the end!!! 2024: I never thought I'd give a lower review because the portion of the food was too large. My wife and I were tourists in Bad Abbach last weekend and visited the Zirngibl around 8 p.m. All the tables were occupied. My wife ordered some kind of dumplings; the portion was large and tasted good. I had a cordon bleu with fries for just under €20. The taste was nothing special, as we didn't like the ham. That's a matter of taste, and therefore I'm not rating it. What I found really disgusting was the size of the cordon bleu. I'm a big eater, but I only managed a third of the meat. Afterward, I felt sick. I ate the rest of the schnitzel in two bowls. A suggestion to the waitress that the size of the cordon bleu should be communicated to customers before ordering was ignored. The reason given was that the customer should be surprised. Locals would order the cordon bleu for two. I'd like to note that our dog received the cordon bleu two days later, as I was still disgusted by the meat. The size of the cordon bleu is a waste. Many people will throw the meat in the trash. 2025: We were in Bad Abbach again this year and wanted to visit a beer garden. So we gave the Zirngibl another chance. This time, there was a notice advertising the cordon bleu as XXL. My wife had spinach dumplings and I had a regular schnitzel with fried potatoes. We were both absolutely thrilled, with the taste, the portion size, and the value for money. So we visited the Zirngibl again the next day. Here, even special requests were accommodated without any problems. Truly great. We must emphasize the condition. They were very attentive, friendly, and very quick on both days, even though the beer garden was fully booked. Conclusion: We're adjusting the number of stars and would be happy to come back.

After a short bike ride, we stopped again at this charming inn. We were very satisfied here some time ago – and this time we weren't disappointed either. The beer garden was busy due to the beautiful weather, but we were still warmly welcomed and served promptly. The drinks arrived quickly, and the dark Weltenburger Radler quenched our thirst perfectly. For our main course, we opted for the Wildburger with fries: a generous burger with a thick patty, cabbage, fried onions, fried mushrooms, and spicy organic cheese. Absolutely delicious – really tasty and very filling! One small suggestion for improvement: Instead of ridged fries, rustic potato fries would be even better. The fried onions, freshly caramelized in the pan, would be a real highlight, and the bun could be a bit more premium – the meat deserves it. However, we fully understand that efficiency is important when the crowds are large. Conclusion: Very tasty, friendly service, cozy beer garden – we'll definitely be back!

I give this lovely inn 5 out of 5 stars. We couldn't make a reservation by phone because everything was already full, but the very friendly waiter told us: just come along, we'll manage if you wait a bit... There were four of us there, and everyone ordered something different. Schäufle (pork shoulder), pork fillet with Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), frittata soup, a 600g cheeseburger, and a few other things. The food was delicious and the portions generous! We also had beer and Swiss pine schnapps... we would have liked to order dessert, but we couldn't fit anything else in! The waiters at the table were attentive and friendly. We'd be happy to come back...

The cordon bleu is amazing... Enough for three people. I gave it my all. And I didn't manage it alone. The beer garden is very cozy.

We went to Zirngibl for a wedding reception. Great location with a beer garden and banquet hall. The service staff there were super motivated, super friendly, and efficient from start to finish! TOP CREW! The food was GREAT! The appetizer (Bavarian sushi - amazing! [although the white sausage shouldn't be seen at lunchtime :-) ]. The main course was pork medallions and ox cheeks... a dream! It was a fantastic day! Definitely recommend it!

The food at this country inn was simply outstanding! The dishes are typically Bavarian. The portions are generous, and the quality is palpable. I've never eaten such a large and absolutely delicious cordon bleu as I did here. They advertise the best Schäuferle (pork shoulder) in the region, and they're right; it tastes fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy Bavarian cuisine at its best!

We regularly visit Gasthaus Zirngibl and are always very satisfied. The food is consistently delicious – the venison dishes are especially highly recommended. The service is friendly; we've had nothing but good experiences so far. During busy times, it can be difficult without a reservation, but if you know and plan for it, it's not a problem. A few times it took a little longer, but that was manageable and definitely the exception. Overall, we enjoy coming back!

A fantastic restaurant with an adjoining beer garden. We visited twice in the evening. Excellent staff, quick, friendly, and accommodating, always in a good mood. The food was gigantic...you only manage the portions if you're really hungry. Otherwise, they serve you a small bowl where you can take leftovers (which we needed). The quality was excellent, and the price was definitely right. We found the beer to be very good value, and it tasted great too. The restaurant has free customer parking a few meters away.

A terrible "Kurzsalat" (a kind of curry salad). The salad was drowned in some kind of sour dressing, completely wilted... and the turkey strips were swimming in a brown sauce like roast bits. There was no compensation. The €20 was charged in full...

The dining rooms and beer garden are very nice and decorated with great attention to detail. The food was usually delicious, but significantly overdone. The cheeseburger I recently ordered wasn't good, as the patty was still raw inside and the fries had obviously been in the fryer twice. The staff is generally very pleasant, except for one male waiter who, in my opinion, is unbearable. Update: On another visit, I ordered the Cordon Bleu. Unfortunately, it was extremely oversalted and contained five layers of ham. Furthermore, the Cordon Bleu was much too large, almost making me find it repulsive. Despite my best efforts, I only managed to eat a third of it.

We've been going there at irregular intervals for some time now. Last visit was July 4th. What stands out: The consistency of the staff, which speaks volumes about the landlord, not just his cooking. But you can cook as well as you like without good staff. And with one exception, the staff are damn good, hard-working and friendly, even when the guests are disgusting. The dishes are always worth their price and far above standard; I personally find it an experience every time. Unfortunately, you lose the only star 🌟 because of your beer garden supervisor, who isn't exactly friendly towards his colleagues or the rest of the staff. Since this person is the only one responsible for taking the payment, it was a relief to be able to pay after 30 minutes and multiple reminders. That's the only letdown; it's almost always been that way. However, I won't let that stop me from visiting again, as the rest of the food is simply perfect.

Hello dear team, I was here last night. It was nice with a live band. It could have been a bit quieter, but we asked for a table a little further away, and it wasn't a problem. Thanks in advance. Since I had already eaten dinner, unfortunately, I only had room for one tiramisu 🤣 but it was delicious!!! I was so impressed that I'm back for lunch today. My husband ordered the venison burger, and it was also amazing 💣😍 and the portions, really big, were fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We'd love to come back 🥳🥳🥳

The venison Bolognese tasted quite good, and the price was reasonable. There was quite loud live music outside. I enjoyed the music, but unfortunately, it was difficult to have a conversation. The waiter's behavior, however, was a disaster. I've never experienced a waiter speaking to me so rudely and condescendingly. Maybe he was just having a bad day (I hope). I wouldn't have thought that possible. Apart from the service, everything was fine. Overall, unfortunately, it was still a disappointing experience.

We were there today, June 9, 2025, just for a beer. But a meal there will follow... in the meantime, we also went there for dinner on June 13, 2025. Luckily, we only ordered a main course, without an appetizer. The portions are large, so you have to be hungry. Not just the size, but also the taste, the service, etc. Everything is highly recommended!

We always enjoy going to Zirngibl. The portions are huge, and the staff is usually very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case on our last visit. A waiter greeted us and served us. He was really nice. We then ordered dessert and coffee. After that, we were ignored. We couldn't order any more drinks or ask to pay. The gentleman wasn't there, but two waitresses were. We were able to tell one of them after an hour that we wanted to pay. She said she'd let us know. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes. The same waitress came over and said, "Oh, hasn't anyone been here yet?" and turned away. The glasses and dessert place settings weren't cleared away either. After another 30 minutes, another waitress finally arrived, but it also took 20 minutes for her to bring the bill. She didn't offer a smile or a kind word. She was apparently dissatisfied with the tip, which we had, of course, attached to the endless wait (the attentive gentleman would have gotten more). It's good that the kids were at least able to play at the playground and not get irritated. It'll be a while until the next visit. Maybe everyone was just having a bad day, since there wasn't much going on in the beer garden.

We spontaneously visited Zirngibl on Sunday afternoon. We were seated in a room where a communion party was taking place. Thanks to the room's excellent acoustics, it wasn't a problem, just a bit warm. The food selection was fantastic, with rare Maibock and a generous portion of roast meat. The side dishes were almost too filling. The desserts were also excellent. The prices were mid-range. We'll be back.

The food (one Wiener Schnitzel with fries and pork fillet) was very tasteless, not to say bland. The schnitzel was almost certainly standard frozen, and the fries had been in the fryer for far too long twice. Twice, because I had to send one back. The pork fillet was good, but the sauce tasted of nothing. The service was friendly, quick, and very helpful. The atmosphere (upstairs in the dining room) was okay. The chairs (upstairs in the dining room) are very low, making the seating a bit uncomfortable. Overall, unfortunately, very disappointing. We've had much better food elsewhere.

Last week, I was privileged to provide musical accompaniment for a birthday party at the beautiful Gasthaus Zirngibl, and I'm still thrilled. The rustic ambiance and the large, yet cozy hall upstairs provide a wonderful setting for any type of celebration. The food is delicious, and the service is simply outstanding. For me as a DJ, the lighting options and acoustics naturally play an important role. Both are more than met in the ballroom of the Gasthaus Zirngibl. Yesterday, we were there for the first time with the family for a birthday party. A friendly welcome and prompt service. The selection of dishes is huge, and the portions would make even big eaters sweat. Everything was delicious and tasty. I've rarely experienced better value for money. Definitely a recommendation for Bavarian cuisine. There's a wide selection of game meat. You can also buy portioned, vacuum-packed game to take home.
