Berggasthaus und Pension "Schöne Aussicht" in Klingenthal

Wunderschöne Gaststätte mit guten Essen.

Ich habe 4 wunderbare Wandertage im Vogtland verbracht und hatte für 3 Nächte den Berggasthof gebucht. Ich kannte es bisher schon vom tollen Essen und der super Lage und Aussicht auf der Terrasse . Meine Erwartungen wurden total übertroffen, ich bekam 2 Zimmer ( ein Wohn-, ein Schlafzimmer mit Bad) mit wunderbarem Ausblick, totaler Ruhe und toller Bewirtung durch freundliche Mitarbeiter. Ein üppiges Frühstück rundete das sehr gute Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis ab. Ich bedanke mich herzlich bei allen Mitarbeitern und komme gerne wieder.

Der Name ist Programm, traumhaft gelegen! Mein Zimmer hatte einen Balkon mit Weitblick, sehr geräumig und gemütlich. Sehr von Vorteil, daß man abends (auch tagsüber) im Haus essen kann. Auswahl sehr abwechslungsreich und das, was ich probiert habe ( Wildschwein und Sauerbraten) war sehr überzeugend und lecker!!! Portionen riesig, hab am 2. Abend 1 Kloß weniger bestellt, so war es machbar für mich😉 auf zu essen. Das Frühstück war klasse, es war bereits alles eingedeckt und jedes Zimmer hatte seinen Tisch. Kaum hin gesetzt wurde eilig noch Wurst/Käse/Gemüse/Obst, sowie frischer Kaffee frisch an jeden Tisch gebracht. Alles andere konnte man sich noch nachholen. Das Personal durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und flink. Von dort aus konnte man abends auch noch zu einer Bank laufen, welche einen herrlichen Blick bot. Das Parken war unkompliziert und die Zufahrt wurde durch den Inhaber äußerst energisch verteidigt und gesichert. Mein Aufenthalt war eine sehr schöne Erfahrung mit tollen Eindrücken und Emotionen! Sehr gemütliche Gaststätte und sehr freundlicher Kellner👍🏻! Schwammespalken vorab, gut gemacht, würzig, gefehlt hat mir eine Scheibe Brot dazu! Hauptgang Sauerbraten: zartes Fleisch, hausgemachter Rotkohl, leckere Bambes👍🏻 Abstriche gibt’s bei der Soße, das geht besser👉🏻Tüte und Geschmacklos…schade! Hauptgang 2: Wildschwein war top, Rosenkohl 1A, Tiroler Klees waren nicht krusprig eher wie erwähnt! Hauptgang 3: Schnitzel mit Spargel und Kartoffeln👍🏻, Hollo Bollo aus dem TetraPack! Kommen gerne wieder! War gut, geht aber mehr…Viel Erfolg

Ein Hotel hoch oben auf dem Berg mit super Aussicht. Das Essen, wie zu Hause... super lecker. Tschechisch angehaucht, kein Wunder liegt ja auch an der Grenze. Das Frühstück lies keine Wünsche offen, jeden Tag eine andere Abwechselung. In der Summe klein aber fein.

Eine sehr schöne Pension mit schöner Aussicht von der Terrasse im Restaurant, Zimmer super gut und sauber, Betten auch toll man kann sehr gut schlafen,das frühstück lecker ,die Speisen zum Mittag einfach und haben sehr gut geschmeckt, preis/Leistung okay, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, vielen dank an das Team 👍👍👍

Der Gasthof ist sehr schön gelegen und wir sind spontan mit 12 Personen eingekehrt. Die Bedienung war sofort behilflich, zwei Tische zusammen zu schieben, damit wir gemeinsam essen konnten. Leider hat es dann fast 1,5h gedauert, ehe das Essen serviert wurde. Die Speisen selbst waren okay und haben gut geschmeckt. Insgesamt eine gute Einkehr mit einem soliden regionalen Essensangebot.

Wir waren dort essen. Das Essen war super lecker, Preisleistung ist okay. Eine schöne Aussicht hat man wirklich. Ein Punkt Abzug gibt es für den echt engen Parkplatz.

Wir waren sehr zurfrieden, die Zimmer sind zwar nicht mehr auf dem neusten Stand, aber sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sauber. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett und zu jederzeit hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war herausragend und auf gehobenem Hotelstandard. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder!

Ich war für ein Abendessen hier. Das Essen war köstlich, das Personal äusserst zuvorkommend und der Preis war ebenfalls in Ordnung. Komme gerne wieder einmal hier essen, sollte ich in der Region sein.

Dieses Restaurant ist ein absolutes Muss. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet und absolut schmackhaft. Ich hatte das 500g Schnitzel. Absolut spitze.Das Personal ist mega freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren zu Besuch in der Gegend und haben ein Restaurant mit lokalen Spezialitäten gesucht. Der Weg zum Restaurant war etwas abenteuerlich, aber es hat sich gelohnt. Hoch oben thront das "Schöne Aussicht", wo der Name Programm ist. Die Speisekarte hielt eine tolle Auswahl parat. Die Speisen werden frisch zubereitet, toll angerichtet und waren sehr lecker. Der Service war durchgehend aufmerksam und sympathisch. Auch das Ambiente passte hervorragend. Für uns ein Glücksgriff, den wir sehr gerne weiter empfehlen möchten.

Wunderbar gemütliche Gaststube mit tollen Ausblick! Abendessen war sehr lecker und das Service-Team freundlich und höflich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We had lunch at Schöne Aussicht today. Four of us were very disappointed; there wasn't even a dry wine available, even though it was on the menu. They can't even manage to serve a properly chilled beer. It was much better two years ago. It's a shame; you can see it in the other customers.

Very nice restaurant with very good food!!

We've been there twice already. Super friendly staff, top-notch service. Very cozy dining room. A little corner for kids—and there's also an outdoor playground. The food is fresh and delicious! A lot of love goes into this restaurant. We recommend it and will be back :-)

Contrary to what's stated on the website, hot meals aren't available all day. Not even at 1:30 a.m. on weekends. Please update the website so you don't have to drive up for nothing.

We climbed the mountain by motorbike, spontaneously, and despite the restaurant being full, we received a friendly welcome. Good, home-style cooking at fair prices. We'd gladly return.

We stayed here for seven days as a four-person motorcycle group. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. We ate in the restaurant every evening. Everything was delicious. We really enjoyed the view from the terrace and the absolute peace and quiet. Excellent value for money. Ideally located as a starting point for day trips. We would gladly come back.

We came here after a walk and we will definitely come back, this place is beautiful with a beautiful view, good beer and food. There is also a small playground for children.

Impressively located! The name says it all: you have a beautiful view here! The restaurant is truly lovely, whether inside or on the terrace – from which you have a fantastic view. You have to climb a little hill to get there – no problem by car, of course, and there are plenty of parking spaces. It's also ideal for a hike. The food is truly delicious, and the service is very friendly. There's a small playground for children outside. Everything is very clean (including the restrooms) and the ambiance is pleasant. Unfortunately, I can't rate the guesthouse/rooms.

Friendly staff, very good regional cuisine

We planned to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the "Schöne Aussicht" on June 2, 2025. Unfortunately, due to communication problems, it didn't happen, which was very disappointing. We contacted the manager, Mr. Nickel, by email, who was very understanding. Thanks to him, we were able to enjoy a wonderful, unforgettable evening with culinary delights and perfect service. We didn't expect such hospitality, and it far exceeded our expectations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Nickel and the restaurant team from the bottom of our hearts. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

I stayed here overnight on a motorcycle tour. It's beautifully located, and the price for half board is unbeatable.

We're hikers and had to change our route, so we booked at very short notice. We were able to get to our room right away; it was very clean and comfortable, even with a small balcony and a great view. We had already eaten down in the valley, so I can't say much about the food, but the waitress was very friendly and the breakfast was good. It wasn't a huge buffet, but it left nothing to be desired. We loved staying here!

The food tastes like it came from a can and is rarely fresh. For these prices, I expect more. The view is okay but could be better.

We wanted to round off our day trip to Klingenthal with a delicious meal at the "Schöne Aussicht" restaurant. First of all: We've known this restaurant for a long time and have always been very satisfied. This time it was different!! The service was very friendly and attentive. The food wasn't good. We had ordered Sauerbraten and Rostbrätl (roasted pork). The Sauerbraten was served with boiled dumplings, even though we had ordered baked dumplings. No problem. However, the dumplings were just a boiled and indefinable mass, devoid of any flavor! The Sauerbraten sauce was so thick that the word "sauce" wasn't justified; the cornstarch had clearly won. The Rostbrätl and the fried potatoes were so greasy that it was borderline. We've experienced something different before; delicious and regional is different!! After the waitress cleared our plates without comment, they didn't even ask if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. The dining room was empty, and there were three women working in the area. the covered terrace. It can't have been due to overwork.

A must-visit restaurant. A steep path to the top rewards you with a unique view. A wonderful, natural ambiance. Service is fast and friendly.

Four of us were there for dinner. We reserved our table at 6 p.m. Initially, the service was quick. Our food and drinks arrived quite quickly. The food was also good and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, the waitress only came to our table once more, so we were literally left high and dry from around 7 p.m. It was really warm, and although the waitress walked past us several times, she didn't think it necessary to ask again if we wanted to order anything else. We would have liked to order another drink and an ice cream for dessert. There were only four other guests there, so she would have had plenty of time. But she preferred to chat in the kitchen. The restaurant closes at 8:30 p.m. The lady didn't want to make any sales, but apparently wanted to finish work ahead of schedule. She came back only once before we left and asked if she could take our empty glasses. So, I've never had to leave a restaurant thirsty before.

The Berggasthof Schöne Aussicht is a very nice guesthouse. The view from there is truly stunning. Sitting on the terrace in the evening (in summer) is also great. Check-in was easy, as was check-out. I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

The inn has a great location. The food is tasty and plentiful. The staff is friendly.

The mountain inn has an exceptional appearance, although minor repairs are definitely necessary (paint in the room, handrail in the stairwell is loose). The view is outstanding. The food is delicious. I must say, unfortunately, that I have never experienced such poor service, no matter where I have been on vacation. Even before I arrived, I received a call at 4:45 p.m. asking if we wanted dinner that day. He (the chef) actually wanted to finish work. So we went straight to dinner (5:15 p.m.). Meanwhile, three other groups of guests arrived for dinner. This prompted the chef to hold us responsible for his overtime. The next day, the staff locked us and five other guests on the terrace because they had finished work early. When we tried again the evening before last, we were driven to another restaurant after an hour of being stuck on dry land. The staff were loudly engaged in private conversations. We asked for the owner. We were then informed that he had absolutely no interest in the inn and was merely collecting the money. Otherwise, no one is responsible here, and everyone does as they see fit. And this is happening at the expense of people who simply want to enjoy a well-deserved, enjoyable vacation. In the few hours we spent there during the week, we noticed three times that other guests were also dissatisfied and had also left the next day. It's certainly possible that lunchtime guests are satisfied with the service, but in the evenings, it's a real imposition.

Always a great place to eat. With a terrace offering views of the valley and the horizon, it's a rustic ambiance for relaxation. Just don't arrive too late. The kitchen seems to open based on customer demand. If it's quiet early, the kitchen probably closes early, too.

We ate at the restaurant in the evening. Since the weather was nice, we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed a great view. The service was quick and friendly, although we were asked to pay a bit brusquely at the end. The other tables had a similar experience, even though they were still open for another half hour. The food was good and the prices reasonable.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed it. The ambiance was rustic and wooden, which I personally really like. The food and service were excellent.

The most beautiful thing about this place, the mountain inn and guesthouse “Schöne Aussicht”, is the location on the Aschberg. If you're lucky and get the room with the balcony, then the weather is nice with a distant view, you have a great overview of Klingenthal and far across into the Franconian mountains. Whether this is recommended for families with small children depends on their activities. If you are traveling by car, you can also use the guesthouse here. Hmm🤔...but I don't know if there was a playground nearby. The place is highly recommended for hikers, cyclists (for whom no mountain is too steep) and holidaymakers (who are looking for a starting point for other activities). I chose the location because I'm doing a kind of "mountain hike" and I always stay overnight where the accommodation options are the highest. I did a day trip to the Czechs, for the first time for me, over the Kamenác (the highest point of the Aschberg at 936m), further past Bublava, past the Bleiberg mountain, and Kraslice back to Klingenthal or the Schöne Aussicht mountain inn. If the weather cooperates, as always, a beautiful view. The food was very good from my point of view. I had dinner once and lunch the next day. Since you were asked in the morning for breakfast whether you would be there for dinner between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., I initially said yes. The risk was, due to the day's stage, that in the end I didn't know exactly whether I would make it in time, so I called the mountain inn in Klingenthal to say that I wouldn't be there until around 7 p.m. From Klingenthal (near the train station) to the guesthouse it is about 5km and only uphill. I immediately suspected that I wouldn't have a chance for dinner because there weren't enough guests during the week. So I looked elsewhere in Klingenthal. I only gave the room 4 stars because in the evening, when it got quiet, a roof shingle or something else, which I couldn't find, rattled in the wind...unrhythmically...😅. Luckily not all night 🙂. Well, I've written enough...way too much. Nobody reads it anyway 👋😂

The view was to die for. The food is great. The offer of the XXL schnitzel is a nice thing. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be happy to come back.

We visited the restaurant for a lunch. 10 people. Despite booking at short notice it worked. The regional cuisine is excellent, beer is on tap. Price/performance ratio is great. On top, as the name suggests, the restaurant is located in a quiet place with a beautiful view. A children's playground is also available.

We only ate there (schnitzel and sauerbraten). The portions were generous and tasty, the prices reasonable, and the service very friendly. The decor is rustic, but the view of the valley is spectacular. I really enjoyed it.

Old guesthouse with a guesthouse... Generally good, but something needs to be done or invested in... the staff try very hard... unfortunately, there was never a contact person available during our stay (three days)... that doesn't make a good impression! Too bad...

We were there for lunch on a Sunday. It was simply sensational! Very friendly service. Fair prices and excellent food. All in a cozy atmosphere with a fantastic view. Simply fantastic. Highly recommended!

Spontaneously went to dinner at the Schöne Aussicht early on New Year's Eve and otherwise about once or twice a year. There's nothing negative to say. Super nice, very attentive, Czech service, good food, good wine, a completely relaxed, Stress-free last evening of the year. You know that the kitchen closes quite early if you do a little bit of information in advance and if you go out to eat around 6 p.m., that's okay too. The ambience is great Quaint and rustic, the view is really beautiful, of course even more so in daylight. You can't complain about the price-performance ratio, even if you can read that in some commenters here. The prices here are still completely normal and fair. Certainly not a fancy star restaurant, if you need that, you should dine somewhere else. If you want to eat in a more cozy and rustic way, this is the right place for you. Even last year on Mother's Day, spontaneously and without a reservation, we were not sent away despite the packed dining room and were allowed to stay at the round table right next to the kitchen to eat. Also nice to mention are the cute, tiny guardian angels, which are made by the nice waitress herself and can be purchased at the counter for little money :) I can't understand some of the bad reviews. We'll definitely be back.

I spontaneously stayed overnight here and was immediately impressed by the great price-performance ratio. I had a beautiful, rustically furnished room with a mini living room, bedroom and bathroom. The WiFi was actually a bit weak, but it was OK for one night. The amazing breakfast, which is served directly at the table, was absolutely surprising. Fresh fruit, rolls, cold cuts, yoghurt, muesli, croissants, etc. Everything your heart desires. As the name suggests, the beautiful view is worth mentioning. The hotel is only about 350m from the Czech border. The menu also looked good, but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to stay for a meal. I would come back anytime.

We know this restaurant from before and have always been very satisfied. Had lunch there yesterday and was very disappointed. The food was all warmed up in the microwave, regardless of whether it was fried potatoes, cheese dumplings, etc. Absolutely nothing was freshly prepared and at these prices. Never again for us.

A very good inn with very friendly staff, thanks to the waiters and the funny, nice chef. The food was always highly recommended and delicious and the breakfast was very rich and lovingly prepared, thank you very much for that too. Great location and very nice, cozy, clean rooms made my stay very pleasant. I can recommend this house with a clear conscience 👍

Great restaurant, but ONLY SPORATICALLY warm food on Sundays, not as advertised…. Table reservation booked, but no one checks the email inbox on Sundays, so the reservation didn't work.

The last time we ate there was 4 years ago, but I was already disappointed. I was really looking forward to the Vogtland sauerbraten with baked goods... but those were the worst bambes I've ever eaten... totally greasy and the dough didn't taste good at all. The meat, on the other hand, was nice and soft, the rest was OK, but rather average. The other meals from the family were satisfactory, but nothing special. The waitress didn't even ask how it tasted, plates were simply cleared away...it's a shame, I really enjoyed going there.

I can't rate the room as we were only there for dinner. The food was delicious so far and the waiter really made an effort. But there was NO Aperol Spritz 🙈

The food was average. There was a lack of salt everywhere. The pikeperch swam in the butter. You could eat it, but it wasn't a highlight. The service was friendly. The view of the surrounding area is very beautiful. The hotel cannot be rated, I only ate there.

Once again I take my guests to this rustic location with a spectacular view over the southernmost Vogtland to the Czech Republic and Bavaria. We are always thrilled by the ambience, the delicious food and the range of drinks. The staff is very friendly and even fulfills the guests' special requests. Whether summer or winter - a visit rewards the effort of the climb (or the journey) again and again!

I can't say anything about the guesthouse but the restaurant was absolutely great. Comfortably furnished, clear and completely adequate menu, very friendly service and the food was really good. Not the cheapest but reasonable portions and the taste is on point. We recommend.

Disappointingly unprofessional. After receiving the reservation confirmation, I received the information 1 month later that there was double occupancy and we had to look for something else. Here you should not rely on a reservation confirmation!!!!!!

We went there for dinner a few times in the evening. Few guests, so the restaurant closes earlier, especially during the week. Food varies in quality and taste. Schnitzel and Thuringian Rostbrätel are good and plentiful, seasoned meat and medallions were not convincing.

Unfortunately we cannot share the positive reviews. We had lunch. The taste of the food (sauerbraten and Jägerpfanne) was so-so. The onion soup was average at best. The food wasn't really hot, at most lukewarm. The waitress was dressed shabbily and smelled of cigarette smoke. We also found it unpleasant that there were clothes lying around in the square next to the kitchen like they were in a cheap bar. Very unfortunate. We actually wanted to get a voucher for friends.

Dogs in the catering industry are not acceptable to me
