BENTO BOX - Köln West in Köln

I like eating at BentoBox; I always enjoy it. I just ordered something to take away, but the containers the food comes in desperately need to be reworked. The gyoza were so stuck to the packaging that they wouldn't come off and completely tore apart, similar to the sushi. If the packaging changes, I'll order takeout more often again. :)

We visit this place really often with my family, the food is always tasty and fresh! The service can sometimes be slow but that depends on the number of people in the place. I usually take unagi roll and teriyaki chicken- can recommend it really)

We like to order here (good delivery service) or eat in. It's not high-end, but the quality is good, the value is good, and the staff is friendly.

Yesterday I ordered edamame, three skewers and gyoza. The portion size of the edamame was really great. However, I felt they were still very hard, so I cooked them again. Unfortunately, I ended up eating too many raw edamame before I started worrying about it, and I ended up in bed that evening with stomach pain and nausea. The restaurant should know that overly raw edamame is poisonous. In my opinion, food should never be sent out like that.

We went to the restaurant, and it was simply delicious – everyone at the table was thrilled! I'd especially like to highlight the service: our waiter was extremely friendly, helpful, and very personable. It makes you feel completely at home as a guest. We'd definitely love to come back – highly recommended.

The sushi is completely normal, no different from the ones you buy at Rewe, but the price is practically double. The salmon and sushi rice are completely separate. Good quality sushi shouldn't be like this.

I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Japanese restaurant, and I have to say, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! The food was simply fantastic—especially the fresh sushi variations, which truly tasted like authentic Japanese cuisine. The quality of the ingredients was clearly evident, and the presentation of the dishes was a true feast for the eyes. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, which made the meal even more enjoyable. They were always helpful and advised us on our meal choices. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, which contributed to a pleasant evening. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant! A wonderful dining experience that I would gladly repeat.

The quantity in relation to the price was a joke, and the punchline follows. The three yakitori skewers were inedible, burnt, and hard for a whopping €10. The mini seaweed salad in a small plastic bowl was €10. 2 appetizers, 2 skewers, 2 small sushi selections, each over €20... We paid a total of €75(!) for a snack box. I ordered the items directly from the restaurant and took them with me. Only afterward did I realize I'd been charged restaurant prices. They also cut down on the delivery charge and added it on top. It's called a rip-off!

I went to the restaurant on Aachener Straße and ordered directly from the menu. The food was less than mediocre: burnt skewers, tough meat, very small portions of sushi (seaweed salad also in a mini plastic bowl), they cut back on delivery, and charged restaurant prices, almost criminal... €75 (!) for a few snacks... I compared the prices on Liferando, where each item costs an average of €5 less. Never again from this place!

Top sushi and ramen with friendly service

Super delicious and super friendly staff. There were various delicious homemade iced teas. Vegetable tempura was the starter. The portion was really good. For the main course, there was a ramen burger yakiniku with beef. Delicious to eat. Chokorito soufflé for dessert with an espresso. Simply brilliant

Overall, I don't think the food and the teas are that bad. However, you have to consider that this is convenience food. The dishes are all "pre-prepared," and the individual components are then put together. This doesn't bother me so much with the ramen - the fish in the sashimi was repeatedly still slightly frozen. Not good. The service is very friendly, the place is nice, and there's plenty of space at the table. What's unpleasant is that the phone constantly rings loudly for takeout orders. And this often takes a long time, as there isn't always someone available to take the call.

The only negative thing is that the Keller makes you feel like you've committed a crime if you don't eat your rice, for example. In my case, it's for health reasons, and unfortunately, the rice is so integrated into the dish that it's impossible to order it without it. This has happened twice now, and it's completely unacceptable. I pay for it, and whether I finish it or not is entirely up to me. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is actually delicious. Well, with sushi, I prefer it when you can actually taste the vinegar, but that's a matter of opinion. Unfortunately, the Keller scared us away.

I ordered from them for the first time and I personally enjoyed all three dishes phenomenally. My order was tonkatsu with white cabbage creamy sesame salad as a side dish with rice then a miso soup and then yakitori skewers and for dessert a matcha ice cream for my standards, the rest was a lot to eat but everything was really really good I can only recommend it it is really delicious there and for me everything is there

My favorite sushi for 16 years, unfortunately the branches in Südstadt and Cologne Mitte have now closed. The food is always top quality!

Overall, the store didn't blow us away that much. On the one hand, the quality of the food is just okay. The crunchy rolls taste way too sweet and the makis are good, but that's not an art either. However, the price is hefty and, for me, bears no relation to the quality and service. The last few times we waited a long time until we were served and finally got the food, even though only two other tables were occupied. For the price I'd rather go somewhere else, even if the atmosphere is nice.

Sushi from the MASTER We were there last week and we really enjoyed it. Price performance is very good. Friendly staff and very clean shop. For someone who travels often and often, this is also a very good to-go alternative.

After 160 minutes the delivery had not yet arrived - even though the delivery time was stated as 70 minutes. Bento Box could not be reached by phone on any number (I was on hold for 5 minutes each on two different numbers). After canceling by email, the driver said he would be there soon. I told him he didn't need to come anymore. At least the amount was transferred back quickly. Excuse or justification: NONE

The restaurant has a ground-level entrance and, depending on the seat, there is also enough space for a wheelchair/stroller. But be careful, it can get tight. The service was very accommodating and helped us through the somewhat confusing menu. At the end there was the “soup” and a “burger” which was super tasty with crispy noodles instead of bread. The soup was also great. I can't give any information about the toilet/changing situation because we didn't need it. But a few steps from the restaurant is a small dessert shop that you shouldn't miss. All in all, we were very impressed with the bento box and the price was also very reasonable. We will definitely stop by again.

absolutely great, 10/10 - we had a yakiniku bowl with Gohan, children's yakitori and salmon avocado iso, and everything tasted at the highest level. Unfortunately, the delivery service was disappointing. We ordered at 8:40 p.m. with the latest delivery set at 9:40 p.m. After several inquiries, we only received the information at around 9:57 p.m. that the food should be "immediately." It wasn't until 10:10 p.m. that the delivery person, whose car had apparently broken down, got in touch and suggested that we pick up the order from his car. He called again at 10:16 p.m. and the food ended up arriving almost two hours late, even though the restaurant is only a 5 minute drive away. Despite the excellent quality of the food, the waiting time, coupled with poor communication, was disappointing. In the future we would probably eat directly in the restaurant to avoid such delivery problems.

Delivery time of almost 2.5 hours is totally unacceptable when it is advertised as 20-50 minutes. And the sushi was one of the worst I've ever had. There is better at Rewe.

This time part of the order was forgotten, which can happen sometimes, whereupon the service politely promised quick delivery, but we never received the food. Just ordered the friends mix via Wolt. Very misleading about how much is in it. Overall were 21 pieces of low quality sushi that can discribed as gas station quality at best. As I called to talk about. The staff was unfriendly and very judgemental. He was trying to convince me that it is always like this and with other restaurants as well. I decided to give the food a chance. But like i said, nothing special and definitely not worth the price of 40 € See the photo yourself 😜

Great place to enjoy delicious food. Centrally located and very easy to reach by public transport. You can also sit outside. Very nice service staff. Since there is "unfortunately" a very well-running delivery service, the service lady (the only one at that time) was almost never present on the terrace but was busy with the delivery service inside the restaurant. Over the last 13 years we have been guests at the Bento Box restaurant in Cologne several times a year. Unfortunately, we noticed that both the service and the quality of the food have decreased from year to year. On our last visit we were particularly disappointed when we noticed that ten nigiris cost 40 euros. At least that's what it says on the map. At the Nigiries At the top there is a large button for the price per piece. For two adults it is hardly possible to get out of the restaurant for less than 100 euros. In my opinion, the offering is absolutely average in terms of variety and quality. We were very disappointed by this price development and the declining quality and it will probably be our last visit. Luckily there are now great alternatives in Cologne. A recommended sushi bar is right in the next district in Cologne-Weiden. However, the ambience there can't really keep up with the Bento Box. But if you're more concerned with the quality of sushi, you should take a look. You get excellent, exclusive sushi there and you end up paying almost half as much. Thank you, dear BentoBox, for being one of the first restaurants in Cologne to introduce us to the enjoyment of sushi. Without you we would never have had the taste. But if you want to be a pioneer, you should also strive to remain a pioneer. And I don't see that at the moment. And it looks like I'm not alone with this opinion, it's not without reason that two of the three Bento Box branches in Cologne had to be closed this year. That's really a pity

I don't give it 5 stars because I would like to see more sophisticated, more elaborate sushi, such as spicy tuna tartare sushi, or sushi with flambéed salmon, etc. A little more creativity! Also a little coarse salt on the sweet potatoes wouldn't be bad! But that's just advice 😉 However, the food was very good. We ordered the fried chicken, the fried salmon (in the photo it didn't look fried and I don't think it said it in the description either but our surprise was that it was fried when we received it on the table - we still liked it a lot), susskartofel, also fried sushi ,… With one more point in variety and sophistication, I think the site has a lot of potential to be highly valued 😊 The staff was friendly and the place on the terrace was pleasant. I recommend it and we will return!

The sushi was the worst we have ever eaten. It doesn't taste like much, fish is cut as thinly as possible and it's way too expensive for that.

The dishes tasted correct. Edamame good and quantity. Good gyosas although overcooked. My tuna main course 🍣 correct. The dessert is the best. Adequate price for what was served. Why 1 in service? Because at the end you ask the waitress for 2/3 ice cubes 🧊 please to take away and she says NO. It is the first time that it happens to me. And ice 🧊 they had. I will not come back. 👎👎👎I spend €52 and they can't give you two ice cubes? 🤬😡

We had the edamame soybeans as a starter, along with ramen soup, the ramen burger, scallops and ginger iced tea. A well-rounded thing that tasted excellent. The service was also super friendly and pleasant. We were able to find a place outside in the sun, even without a reservation. Gladly again :).

Negative: - The miso soup was under-seasoned and the tofu wasn't tasty - Many dishes are more expensive than in other comparable sushi restaurants in Cologne, e.g. maki or starters. But you only get cheap disposable chopsticks for eating. I have the feeling that there is a lot of focus here on saving as many costs as possible and making a high profit, but unfortunately it shows. Positive: - Fast and professional service - All other dishes were very tasty (especially sushi and dessert)! Conclusion: All in all it was okay. I would eat here again if someone invited me, but it's too expensive for me personally. The restaurant is not bad, but there are better ones at cheaper prices.

I was delivered the wrong sushi. A replacement delivery was refused!!! I had to argue with the boss on the phone. Unfortunately the service doesn't work at all. The food was also cold and not good. Very unfortunate. And unfortunately never again!!

The waitress (smaller man, with a gray beard) had a very rude tone towards me and was curt, even though all tables were free except for one, and was unfamiliar with the restaurant's offerings. You didn't feel welcome there, everyone can have a bad day, but you really shouldn't take it out on the guests, a professional and friendly approach shouldn't be asking too much. Pretty unpleasant, so I didn't eat there.

The ramen soup wasn't particularly good and was way too expensive. 19€ for a soup is steep, there are many much better restaurants in Cologne.

Catastrophe. We paid over 70 euros for two adults and one child because we had two “ramen soups” for 17 euros each. Both soups were just miso paste with a lot of water, which resulted in a sour taste. In the soup were frozen beans and frozen broccoli and bok choy (not common in Japanese cuisine). Shrimp in the soup cost four euros extra - for which you got four mini shrimp. At least the noodles came separately so we could eat them after the soup itself ended up completely in the trash. The shrimp on skewers were also small and chewy. The omelet nigiri was delicious, but 2.80 euros is of course exorbitant. For 72 euros we received the two soups, three shrimp skewers, a children's meal with rice and two chicken skewers, two individual pieces of sushi and a salad with smoked salmon (should be sushi salmon), lots of cabbage, the aforementioned frozen beans and frozen broccoli. Ten years ago I ordered a sushi salad in another branch and threw the sushi straight into the trash because the fish already smelled unpleasant, but then I was surprised that I had made such a mistake again.

Völlig überteuert! Haben am Sylvester eine Sushibox Friendsmix bestellt, sollte für 2 Personen reichen. Der Herr am Telefon war überaus nett und die Lieferung kam auch pünktlich nach einer Stunde an. Beim Auspacken dann die große Enttäuschung. Ich hab noch nie so kleine Maki und Nigiri gesehen. Die ganze Box war nur 20x12cm groß, der Inhalt würde auf ein Dessertteller passen. Absolut unverschämt hierfür 42€ zu nehmen! Wenn es denn wenigstens lecker gewesen wäre, aber geschmacklich konnte das Essen auch nicht überzeugen. Der Reis war sehr fest gepresst, der Fisch wässrig, die dazu gelieferte soja sauce ist viel zu intensiv. Wir werden hier definitiv nicht mehr bestellen.

Schade, war früher deutlich besser. Essen kam versetzt, somit kalt wenn der Rest kam nach 1 Stunde warten. Getränke lieblos und warm. Service eher schlecht. Keine Beratung, kein guten Appetit, kein Service bis zum Bezahlen nach dem Servieren. Zeit ist Geld war mein Lieblingskommentar vom Service.. Und dann wird beim Bezahlen noch unangemessen lang darauf gewartet, dass man das Trinkgeld nennt. Leider war das unser letzter Besuch.

Nach einer Stunde Wartezeit kam das Essen an. Das Essen war kalt, durchnässt und geschmacklos. Der Behälter, in dem das Essen war, war kaputt, zerrissen und nass. Einfach nur ekelhaft und traurig, wenn man schon eine Stunde warten muss. Würde es niemandem empfehlen zu bestellen, es ist einfach nur schade um das Geld und das Essen, denn das Essen ist nicht essbar!

Durch Zufall habe ich dieses Restaurant entdeckt. Wir hatten wohl Glück und es war noch leer. Die Mitarbeitenden sind unfassbar freundlich und höflich! Das Essen (Sushi, Misosuppe und Dessert) ist so lecker gewesen. 5 Sterne😊

der Kellner hat die Person of Color am Tisch nicht einmal geguckt. Der Kellner hat der weiße Person am Tisch guten Abend mit einem Lächeln gewünscht aber keinen guten Abend für die Person of Color. Das Erlebnis war sehr unangenehm.

Essen sehr gut. Leider hat der bedienende Mitarbeiter meine Begleitung (eine person of colour) bei der Bezahlung komplett ignoriert und nur mir einen schönen Abend gewünscht. Das war sehr enttäuschend. Im Nachhinein hat es mich deswegen ein wenig geärgert, 5 Euro Trinkgeld gegeben zu haben.

Ich bestelle öfters bei bento Box, aber sowas hab ich noch nie erlebt. Die vegetarischen gyoza waren mit Fleisch. Der „creamy“ weisskohlsalat schmeckte nicht mehr frisch. Die Sauce war flüssig und es sah so aus als ob sie mit Wasser gestreckt wurde. Das Avocado Nigiri hatte die Dünste Scheibe Avocado und das Tamago sah weder frisch aus, noch schmeckte es so. Der Brokkoli bestand aus drei kleinen röschen und die Box in dem er war, war auch zur Hälfte mit Wasser gefüllt. Das einzig essbare war das Matcha Eis, den Rest musste ich entsorgen. Ich habe also 35,10 für ein Matcha Eis bezahlt.

Eigentlich 0 Sterne für den schlechtesten Service überhaupt. Seit Jahren arbeiten dort Studenten die keinen Plan vom Service haben. Zuletzt über 10 min in einem leerem Restaurant gesessen und ignoriert worden bis ich wieder ging. Es wird nur noch auf den Lieferservice geachtet. Mangelhaft!!!

Wir haben bei der Bento Box bestellt. Aufgrund der Verkehrssituation hat es etwas länger gedauert und wir wurden angerufen und darüber informiert - super! Habe ich so bisher selten erlebt. Das Sushi sah toll aus und war super lecker!

Unsre Tochter hat das erstemal Sushi gegessen und war begeistert. Es wurde einiges probiert und sie hat einige Favoriten fürs nächste mal 😉 Der Service war super freundlich und hat auch seine Späße gemacht wegen "mit Stäbchen essen"

Vor allem das frittierte Sushi ist super lecker!

Limonaden waren teures Minzwasser, Nudelsuppe war quasi nur Salz, Hähnchenbrust war ungewürzt und *gekocht* und daher trocken wie ein Meter Feldweg. Karaage war überfrittiert. Auf Kritik heißt es nur mehr oder weniger "Ja, anderen schmeckt es!" Noch dazu gnadenlos überteuert alles, halbe Avocado mit Salz 4,90€, kleines Schälchen Wakame 6,90€.

Immer pünktliche Lieferung, frische Ware und freundliches Lieferpersonal.. Sehr empfehlenswert. Danke!

Immer wieder gut und sehr netter Service

Essen war ok, aber sehr moderate Portionen. Kellner konnte keine 2 Gänge buchen, hätte sonst die Küche durcheinander gebracht (seine Worte). Die Vorspeise (Knusperhuhn und Sushi) kam, so wie die Getränke, nach kurzer Wartezeit. Den Hauptgang zu bestellen war knifflig. Der Kellner war schlecht strukturiert und hat sehr sarkastisch kommuniziert, dass er eigentlich gar keinen Bock hat. Unter gutem Service stelle ich mir etwas anderes vor. Der Ramenburger zwar eine witzige Idee, aber die Rahmen sind trocken frittiert, ungewürzt und die mini Eismeergarnelen ebenfalls toter als tot. Das Sushi war frisch.

Waren bereits schon öfters hier gewesen. Das Essen schmeckt sehr lecker, auch der Tee ist köstlich. Preislich ebenfalls völlig in Ordnung (ca. 20€ Essen + Gertränl p.P etwa).

Neben eher durchschnitter Qualität zu überhöhten Preise ist große Vorsicht bei online Bestellungen geboten. Einmal im Verteiler hat man massive Schwirigkeiten aus dem Werbeverteiler wieder raus zu kommen

Trotz Vorbestellung, mit knapp 3 Stunden Vorlaufzeit, ist das Essen viel zu spät geliefert worden. Auch kam keine Entschuldigung oder mal ne Cola oder so. Naja sei es drum. Anschließend die Lieferung ausgepackt, alles ist ausgelaufen. Sehr ärgerlich.

Woah immer extremst lecker. Die Speisekarte bietet vieles abwechslungsreiches, die Mittarbeiter sind immer super nett und der Laden unfassbar schön eingerichtet. Ich liebe diesen Laden

Wir haben teilweise etwas länger auf die Bedienung warten müssen obwohl eigentlich nur ein paar Tische besetzt waren. Ganz erklären konnte ich mir das nicht… vielleicht TikTok? Nein, sicher eine böse Unterstellung…

Das Sushi schmeckt unglaublich qualitativ hochwertig und wird wunderschön serviert.

Die Bowl war sehr lecker, das Sushi total trocken. Erschreckend war jedoch der Service. Das Wort abgeschnitten, sodass wir nicht mal mehr bestellen konnten, weil die Dame Feierabend machte. Auf unsere Aussage dass wir halb halb zahlen hat sie uns den Bon selbst rechnen lassen. Selten so einen schlechten Service erlebt.

War mal um einiges besser. Qualität schwankt sehr stark. Lieferzeit zum Teil ein Witz (2std bei bestellung an einem normalen montag um 17h). Telefonisch dann eine absolute Frechheit. Statt einer Entschuldigung wird man vom Service auch noch Besserwisserhaft korrigiert
