An amazing restaurant! A bit expensive, but boy is it worth the price! I got an Ofenkartoffel with sour cream and a Schweinehaxe and both were delicious! The service was amazing too, and the staff were really friendly! The atmosphere is also great! If you‘re hungry and in Weimar, come here and you can get what is probably the best food in Weimar!

Großer Vorteil ist die durchgehend geöffnete Küche! Die deftigen Speisen nach bayrischen Vorbild waren eine gute Alternative zu Thüringer Rotkraut und Klößen , die man ja auch nicht tagelang essen mag. Dazu ein Weißbier 👍🏻

Were in Weimar at the weekend. The sausage salad was a disaster, it was badly dressed, the dressing was very heavy, the bread was old. It's a shame, we visited this inn because of the good reviews. Interior was also disappointing, we know a Bavarian inn differently.

Fresh dishes from the German tradition prepared with regional ingredients: the pork knuckle is the best in Weimar, crispy but not dry. The white asparagus served with schnitzel was a delicious surprise.

Central restaurant in Weimar. Friendly and fast staff. Extensive menu. Dishes are cooked with regional ingredients. Dishes are served hot and are really big enough, you don't actually need a starter. Restaurant is very friendly. Reservations are recommended for groups. Toilets appear to be of very high quality and were very well maintained. Payment possible in cash and by card Good price/performance ratio.

Super attentive staff and always friendly. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared and fresh. This is followed by another bad review from my wife because I ate and drank too much again and now she has to scold someone. ;-) Fun, the portions are very decent. The background noise is completely normal, I don't understand what some people are upset about. But unfortunately you can never please some people. On the contrary, the tables here are not pushed close together, so that you can have conversations without anyone else's ears. We'd love to come back.

Very nice inn with Bavarian delicacies, highly recommended!!! The food here is very, very tasty, large enough portions and well prepared, the price/performance ratio is right and best of all, super friendly service, we even got 2 seats at short notice and the drinks and food were at the table quite quickly, we We were even able to order a takeaway meal at short notice without having to wait long, all in all an excellent restaurant in the heart of Weimar and always worth a visit. I had something to eat here in a relaxed atmosphere and would definitely like to leave a top rating here that was just as nice as the hotel team gave us. Absolutely warm, uncomplicated and hospitable people, and I wasn't the only one who felt very comfortable here. There was even a vegan food selection, which was very, very tasty. Oh yes, the espresso was also outstanding. Basically one of the best I've gotten anywhere so far. 🤩 I can absolutely recommend this inn and would really like to come back when I'm here. Please stay the way you are, you're fine the way you are. 🥰

A small, hidden restaurant with very good German/Bavarian cuisine. The menu is not overloaded, the dishes are freshly prepared and taste excellent. The staff is friendly and accommodating and can accommodate special requests without any problems. Unfortunately there is a star deduction for the ambience. Due to the relatively small guest room, it gets very loud when there are enough guests, which means that at times you feel like you're at the train station and have to speak very loudly to the other person. Nevertheless, for me the food and the hospitality are in the foreground and they are definitely worth 5 stars. I'd love to come back!

A little hidden in the city is a rustic restaurant with surprisingly good food. We were very satisfied, having had a Viennese fried chicken for a long time. Good selection, well prepared food and nice staff. A good recommendation for Weimar visitors. We'd love to come back again.

Great service! The ambience inside doesn't match the outside picture. It was the driest knuckle and the worst ribs we have ever eaten in a restaurant. Fried potatoes and coleslaw were delicious. Unfortunately, the bread for the knuckle was past its prime.

Rich portion, very good quality and nice, attentive service. Unfortunately we had to sit outside because all the tables inside were occupied. But we were there without a prior reservation. There are small heaters outside.

En realidad entramos en el restaurante por error, buscando solo un lugar para tomar una cerveza, pero vimos que tienen bastantes selecciones vegetarianas y veganas. La comida era excelente, el servicio genial, y el ambiente muy agradable. Nada de acidez después. ¡Muy recomendable!

A lovingly designed and cozy restaurant. Luckily we were there spontaneously in the afternoon and got a place, but in the evening you definitely have to make a reservation. Service was great, the food came very quickly and was also very tasty. I haven't had such a crispy knuckle in a long time. And the love of homeland was the perfect ending. We found the factory and took a bottle straight away. If we are in Weimar again, we would like to come back. Absolute recommendation!

Very good cuisine, both in terms of quality and quantity. TOP service and well attended. Reservation therefore makes sense. I can only recommend it if you like a hearty pub atmosphere, especially when eating :)

The six of us spent a great evening in a really nice restaurant in the middle of Weimar's old town: Delicious draft beer, perfectly cold and served super quickly, plus delicious burgers, a perfect rump steak (pimentos instead of green beans as a side dish is just awesome!!), perfectly tender ribs and a Bavarian knuckle. Everything was served almost at the same time and everything was absolutely delicious! Plus a super friendly team (despite the full restaurant) and a really nice atmosphere! Conclusion: Delicious food and drink, beautiful location and a super nice team - thank you for a perfect evening and we'll be happy to come back!

There was nothing wrong with the food. Service seemed super listless and not customer-oriented. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. Unfortunately we caught this one and that's how I rate it.

We have on August 6th. Had dinner in the inn. We were served quickly and the food was very tasty. When we collected the money (we paid individually), the "service person" thought our son's tip was too small and, according to her, it didn't come from the heart. She didn't accept the tip. I have never had to experience such outrageousness.

Really wanted to like this place. Took a seat and waited….and waited. Waitress with blond hair was drinking a glass of wine with friends at another table and too busy to serve anyone. I got up to get service inside, after waiting and , as she saw me go inside. she responded in German that she would be there when she was finished. OK, why didn’t you come over whileI waited? Too busy drinking with friends? Drink on your own time! A different waitress approached and started to berate me, in English, claiming her colleague was just talking with friends and not drunk on the job. Really! Ok. Good try. but your “colleague” never came over to serve me at all and you did! She had a wine glass in her hand and was drinking! I don’t care she’s drinking, I just want a drink! Then, the new waitress started complaining and berating me because I I placed the menu she gave me on a wet table after a rainfall . OK, do blame me? Clean the table. It’s your job . Where was I supposed to put the menu? Served my drink by a guy. Third person I saw. Where was my waitress? No tip. No food order. Never come again… Very Disappointed. I was ready to spend a lot of money having a good time but the mood was spoiled. Recommend the management supervise their personnel to make sure they are serving customers instead of drinking.

A really great inn with a beautiful and cozy courtyard. The food is incredibly tasty and reasonably priced. Beer and wine can also only be recommended. The service was very friendly and accommodating, so you could feel really comfortable. Any time again when we are in Weimar again.

Basically quite tasty, my steak was a bit shaggy and the knife wasn't really sharp. The overall service was good. Drinks and food were delivered quickly and the portions were plentiful. If I eat there again at some point, it will probably be the cheese pretzels or a knuckle.

Von dem Moment an, als wir Johann’s Hof betraten, war die Atmosphäre unglaublich. Das Personal begrüßte uns mit echten Lächeln und tadellosem Service, was uns sofort willkommen fühlte. Das Essen war von dieser Welt! Jedes Gericht war ein Volltreffer, meisterhaft zubereitet mit Aromen, die uns einfach umgehauen haben. Diesem Ort nur 5 Sterne zu geben, fühlt sich wie eine Untertreibung an; er verdient eine ganze Galaxie von Sternen! Wenn Sie ein Speiseerlebnis suchen, das hervorragende Küche mit einer freundlichen, professionellen Atmosphäre verbindet, sollte Johann’s Hof ganz oben auf Ihrer Liste stehen. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, meinen nächsten Besuch zu planen!

Durch einen wirklich herzlich gestalteten Torbogen kommt man in einen gemütlichen Biergarten. Man ist sofort überzeugt. Die sehr nette Bedienung empfängt die Getränke- und Essenswünsche sehr professionell und das Essen kommt innerhalb einer Viertel Stunde. Das Essen ist wirklich obere Klasse und sehr gut . Auch der Gang auf die Toilette ist eine angenehme Erfahrung. Alles in einem ein wirklich nettes Wirtshaus mit qualitativ hochwertiger Küche. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältniss stimmt hier vollkommen.

The best meal in years. Is worth the price

Ich war hier zwei Mal zum Abendessen während meines Weimaraufenthaltes. Am ersten Abend, als es sehr voll war, fand die freundliche Bedienung noch einen Platz für mich. Das Essen, einmal Ochsenbäckchen und am zweiten Abend Haxe, war sehr gut und mehr als ausreichend. Ein kaltes Helles ist ja sowieso ein Traum! 😉 Also: Sehr gutes Essen, tolles Bier, freundliche Atmosphäre und nette Bedienung. Preise? Nicht billig, aber die Abende waren es wert. Eine Reservierung ist sicherlich nicht verkehrt.

We got there because of the good reviews. And they were absolutely confirmed. We had asparagus that was absolutely on point, which really surprises me in the restaurant industry. The schnitzel was great. From veal and really well made. The drinks are solid. The service worth mentioning was good and friendly. For me it was a business meeting and the restaurant is recommended for that too.
