Bellessa - Südamerikanisches Restaurant in Cottbus

Price-performance ratio not very appealing, far too expensive and little food, Valentine's Day special without warning so a 3-course menu for 2 people paid €111 and the dessert was forgotten. Not worth a second visit.

Our favorite restaurant. Always delicious South American food. The atmosphere and staff are great and friendly. The picture shows the “Plato de Aperitivos” (starter plate).

Hi food was very good. Service was very nice. Open kitchen is also great. I have to deduct points for the fact that there is no toilet suitable for disabled people, but you have to say that a solution was/was taken care of.

The location is exceptional for Cottbus. The service and the ambience are top. The pisco sour was very tasty. Unfortunately, the Matambre fell short of my expectations. The tiramisu was okay. I was recently in Argentina and so I'm used to something different. The price level is quite high.

The food was good, nothing mind blowing. Although I did love the octopus, as it was well seasoned and very easy to chew. The staff was friendly, but seemed a bit lost at times, it gave the impression that they hadn’t been working there long. But as I said, the service was still good. Overall a good experience, if a bit on the expensive side.

The food was first class. It tasted really good, the staff was really friendly and nice and you could watch the chef cook. It didn't take long until the food was on the table. The cocktails were really tasty too.

First time I was charged for taking the food home! In a society of massive food waste, to charge for taking the food home, that otherwise would go to garbage is indecent. The restaurant deserves for this reason no further comments!

Good place to eat in Chóśebuz. Very attentive and friendly service and very delicious food! I can also recommend the cocktails from the bar next door ("El Chico").

We were there for brunch. The food was delicious, the staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere is interesting and very pleasant.

South American cuisine atmosphere, except Brazilian food, which is a shame, but the service is great and the servers still communicate in Spanish and Portuguese. I loved the experience! The coffee is delicious.

The service was attentive and friendly. Drinks and food were on the table in a reasonable time. The beef was tasty, but I found the plain rice too dry. I would have liked a little more sauce with it. Otherwise the restaurant is worth a visit.

Just really beautiful. My husband comes from Cuba, which is actually part of Latin America. But from a culinary point of view, he immediately felt at home in this restaurant. Very nice staff, imaginative atmosphere and the DELICIOUS DELICIOUS FOOD made us happy. We felt very comfortable and made a reservation for Christmas brunch. Boys and girls, keep it up!!!

We were looking for a great restaurant and Bellessa was recommended to us. What can we say, it was great!! Hidden in an inner courtyard, great ambience, the service is super nice and the food is super tasty. If you sit well, you can watch the chef through the open kitchen, all fresh ingredients, great taste. We'll definitely be back!!!

I visited Bellessa - South American Restaurant and was overall satisfied. The food was okay, but didn't quite meet my expectations. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly. However, a wider variety of authentic South American dishes could be offered. Overall a good experience but there is room for improvement.

Just wow! We were on vacation and happened to be in this wonderful restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome and our waiter Namid was extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating - we have rarely had such a great waiter! The restaurant is very cozy and the food and drinks were incredibly tasty, fresh and simply delicious! We will definitely come back :) Clear recommendation!

Just something different! Very cozy location. The menu is very clear and contains plenty of dishes from South America, as the name of the restaurant suggests. The prices for the food are a little more than normal but definitely worth it. The plates were well filled and we were full. The taste is really very good and if you get a seat you can watch the chef prepare it. We were more than satisfied and would recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience to anyone who would like to try something different

We were looking for something out of the ordinary and we definitely found it here. It was suggested to us as the second best restaurant in CB on TripAdvisor. We were welcomed very friendly. Short waiting times. Diverse selection of dishes, it's hard to decide because EVERYTHING reads delicious. There is also a good selection of drinks. The food was also very delicious, the best gnocchi I have ever eaten. The dessert is a dream. You can watch how the food is prepared, great! Friendly and quick staff. Furnishings and atmosphere as if you were on vacation for a short time. We recommend this wonderful restaurant 100% and will definitely come back!!

An interesting idea for a restaurant in Cottbus serving South American dishes. The papaya soup and hearts of palm appetizer were very good, but the best was the fish main course (goulash). Nice service and nice interior, it's worth coming here.

We came in to have dinner. The service was good 👍🏼. Then we were really surprised in a bad way for the food. We had Coxinhas and my partner got a Feijoada. We didn't have really high expectations because we were not in a restaurant in Brazil but we were expecting something more or less like what you can find in Berlin. Then we were really disappointed. Both plates were not good at all and really far from the original recipe of any part of Brazil. If you are looking for something different (exotic) this restaurant might fit but according to our experience, if you are from South America please don't expect to get close to the taste of our countries.

I've lived in Cottbus all my life and I wonder how I could have missed this great restaurant for years. By far the best restaurant in Cottbus! Delicious fresh food and friendly staff. The South American flair of the restaurant and its cozy courtyard make the atmosphere perfect for a great evening. The menu always offers variety with new dishes. However, my absolute favorite remains the “chicken stew”. 🤗 Simply amazing! My absolute recommendation for anyone who hasn't tried it yet. 😉😊

We became aware of the Belessa through My Local - Your Local and tried it out straight away on our Spreewald holiday. We weren't disappointed. At first we were skeptical because we were almost the only guests and the neighboring restaurant was fully booked. But we haven't regretted our decision. The service was very friendly and attentive and the dishes were very tasty. Extraordinary, yet tasty dishes that you simply have to try.

Exceptionally good cuisine for Cottbus standards. Priced a little above the local average, but justified by the freshness and quality. The two owners should take a critical look at the facility. It no longer quite fits with the now excellent cuisine.

The food was good, but also very expensive. A nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the waitress didn't come once to ask if we wanted another drink.

A successful evening on our vacation, that's how it has to be. We love South American cuisine and really enjoyed it here. The service was really great, even though the cocktail bar was actually closed, I was served a delicious cocktail. We were also helped with recipe ideas and tips. The food was excellent and if we weren't just here on vacation, we would have a new favorite restaurant that we would definitely visit more often.

It's been a long time since I've eaten something so tasty. Great little restaurant with a great staff. Not only does the food look delicious, it tastes at least as good, if not even better. As a starter we had the dumplings and as a main course we had rump steak and salmon with squid rings. The recommended wine was very good. 👍 The quality justifies the price. Feel free to come by again. Keep it up!!!

The service and atmosphere have always been this restaurant's greatest strengths. However, when it comes to eating, I would classify it more as a tribute to Latin American cuisine (adapted to local tastes) than a typically "original" experience, and that's perfectly fine. However, this means that while the food can be very tasty, some dishes are not prepared exactly in the traditional way (like the tostones, which are only fried once instead of twice) and are not as tasty as they could be. I think it's a very good restaurant to "get to know" the basics of South American cuisine, but by no means a "typical". That being said, vegetarian options are very limited, meaning there is scope to expand the menu.

We felt completely comfortable. The trip to South America was worth it. We will be back!

Modernly furnished, somewhat colorful, but it reflects the diversity of South America. The menu changes every 3 months, main courses around €25 (+|-), very traditional and super tasty. Not a standard restaurant, it's really worth visiting!

It was my first time in this restaurant and I really liked it. The atmosphere is very nice, the decoration and service are spectacular. We were very hungry and ordered empanadas as a starter, which came very quickly and were very tasty. But the best part was the main course with a very good beef and the star of the dish was the cassava puree which tasted delicious. Really everything on the plate tasted good. Highly recommended and I will come back to try the other dishes. I wish there were more vegetarian options so I can go with my boyfriend next time.

It was our first time eating there and we made a reservation as a precaution (weekend), which was also necessary. Very friendly service ☺️, varied menu with explanations, freshly prepared dishes, open kitchen, very tasty food, we were very satisfied.

We had reserved a table for two. At the entrance we were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and shown to the square. After exploring the menu, we decided on a starter plate and the rum steak. The starter was very varied and delicious, giving us a little insight into South American cuisine. The rum steak was also great. The wine that was appropriately recommended to us also tasted great. The atmosphere was very relaxing and not too loud, which is always very important to me. We were pleasantly surprised all around and would happily recommend it.

Had a wonderful meal. The open kitchen was impressive. Service top! The only downside: if you have a table near the door, it's really cold. That shortened the stay a bit, hence only 4 stars 🌟

Very tasty food and great service.

This is not about the taste of the food and its availability, but rather how paying guests are treated. On New Year's Eve 2023, my wife and I reserved a table, so far so good. My desired dish, fried marlin fillet, was not available. That can happen, I thought and ordered an alternative dish. After about an hour, two guests sat down at the next table, one of whom also ordered the marlin fillet. To my amazement, this was possible. I then asked the waitress how that was possible. An hour ago I was told that there was no marlin fillet in stock. I was told succinctly that supplies of this fish had suddenly appeared. Of course that sounded very unbelievable and I told the waitress that. This was noted and the agenda went on without comment. For this reason a clear thumbs down. 👎

Wir waren gestern dort zu einem Geburtstag eingeladen und um die Mittagszeit die einzigen Gäste. Wunderschönes schlichtes und trotzdem südamerikanisch angehauchtes Ambiente was uns sehr gefallen hat. Bedienung sehr freundlich zuvorkommend und kompetent. Stühle und Tische sehr modern und bequem☺️ Das der Koch offen kocht macht dieses Restaurant sehr kompetent das Ergebnis hat allen Erwartungen voll und ganz entsprochen! Das Essen war sehr gut und die Wartezeit nicht übermäßig lange und gerechtfertigt! Sehr frisch und gute Geschmackskombinationen waren das Ergebnis es hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt… Mein einziges Manko war das ich mich auf ein schönes Rindersteak gefreut habe was es leider nicht gab☺️ Kalb ersetzt Rind in keinem Fall wenn die Karte mal wieder gutes Steak beinhaltet bin ich auf jeden Fall wieder da!!!☺️ Alles in allem kann man das Belessa absolut empfehlen. Tolle moderne leckere geschmacksreiche Küche ein super Service sehr gern bald wieder…

Wer Mal was anderes als Schnitzel Pommes essen will und offen für neue Geschmäcker aus Südamerika ist, ist hier genau richtig. Einfach nur zu empfehlen.

Schon der erste Eindruck begeistert. Die offene Küche macht Appetit und setzt ein klares Statement: Wir haben nichts zu verbergen. Jeder Teller lässt dem hungrigen Gast das Wasser im Mund zusammenlaufen. Die auf natürliche Materialien aufgebaute Inneneinrichtung bringt einen Hauch Südamerika ins graue Cottbus. Dieses Restaurant könnte sich in jeder Metropole sehen lassen. Der Anweiser ist höflich und gut vorbereitet. Der Tisch ist gedeckt, die Getränke-Bestellung wird postwendend aufgenommen. Hier ist man in der Hand von Profis. Das alkoholfreie Bier kommt in der Flasche und wird am Tisch eingeschenkt. Der Kellner kennt seine Karte und gibt fundierte Empfehlungen von der Vorsuppe bis hin zum adäquaten Wein. Alles wird gemeinsam serviert, frisch aus der Küche. Ein wenig schneller könnte es gehen, wenn man unbedingt etwas kritisieren will.... Aber das warten lohnt sich! Die Küche traut sich etwas. Traditionelle, südamerikanische Wurzeln treffen auf moderne Fusionsküche. Egal ob Fisch, Wild, Huhn oder Kochbanane... alle Kombinationen harmonieren hervorragend und verschmelzen zu einzigartigen Köstlichkeiten. Die Empanadas könnten direkt aus Chile stammen, das Entrecote ist auf den Punkt gelungen. Jedes Gericht ist ein Treffer. Zum Abschied präsentiert man die Karte der angeschlossenen Cocktailbar. Auch hier dominiert Innovation. Jeder Drink hat einen Twist. Der Status quo ist nicht genug. Irischer Whiskey mit weißer Schokolade? Es funktioniert. Hausgemachte Gin Infusion mit Kondensmilch? Unbedingt probieren. Das Belessa wäre in jeder Stadt der Welt einen Besuch wert. In Cottbus ist es ohne Konkurrenz!

In the early days when I came to Cottbus, I found this place by chance, it has a friendly and cute place, the waiter helped us a lot in choosing food and gave us very good suggestions. The total price was around 35-45 euros for two people (I don't remember exactly), but it was totally worth it. A different experience of a different culture and food. It is highly recommended

Für uns ein Ausflug in eine andere Welt. Alle Speisen waren sehr lecker und exotisch. Der Service freundlich und trotz einer Firmenfeier gab es keine langen Wartezeiten. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Also wer nach Cottbus fährt oder in Cottbus wohnt darf sich dieses Restaurant nicht entgehen lassen. Es war hier unfassbar lecker. Wir hatten das Marlinfilet, die Ente und das Entrecote es waren super leckere Beilagen. Der Service und das Ambiente waren erstklassig. Die Location befindet sich in einer kleinen Durchfahrt mit einem bezaubernden Innenhof. So nochmal Kompliment an die Küche.!!! Hier muss man gewesen sein.

Modern und ans Thema angelehnt eingerichtet. Karte sehr übersichtlich, mit teilweise doch sehr speziellen aber interessanten Variationen. Gerichte waren im grossen und ganzen in Ordnung, sehr schön angerichtet und geschmacklich auch überzeugend. Es wäre gut wenn scharfe Gerichte als solche in der Karte gekennzeichnet wären und beim Garpunkt ist auch noch etwas Fingerspitzengefühl gefragt, damit das Entrecote beim nächsten Mal auch wirklich Medium ist und nicht Well Done. Ebenfalls ist es lästig 20 Minuten auf die Rechnung warten zu müssen, auch ohne Kleinkind das es nicht mehr auf dem Stuhl hält. Die Rezension klang jetzt gegen Ende negativer als der Besuch der Fall war, ich kann das Baleassa dennoch empfehlen und würde auch selbst noch einmal wieder kommen.

Spontan mal Appetit gehabt und los gezogen um endlich mal wieder den leckeren Fischeintopf bei euch zu verschnabbulieren. Aber nein, heute für den Hähncheneintopf entschieden und was soll ich sagen… beste Entscheidung! Super „rund“ abgeschmeckt, lecker, heiß, einfach köstlich. Mein Mann hatte Hirschkeule und war mindestens genauso begeistert. Passenden, supi guten Rotwein dazu, natürlich noch Nachtisch und zum Schluss noch einen kurzen „Vortrag“ zum Eberthof. Danke dafür und für einen entspannten, köstlichen Abend und vom Service mit das Beste was Cottbus zu bieten hat. Gerne wieder!!!

One of the best restaurants in the area. Menu changes all the time and has the best and most creative of both traditional and modern latam cousine (think empanadas not burritos). Service is great too, and has good recommendations for food and drinks.
