Delicious pork roast for €15 and great service

The four of us had dinner last night. The waitress was warm, open-minded and, despite an obvious wrist injury, smiled (carried the heavy plates all evening) and served us quickly. We felt comfortable as guests. It was quite warm in the dining room. Despite the many guests, it was pleasant to chat at a table level. The food was very tasty (tagliatelle, roulade, hunter's feast and cheese plate). There could have been a little more fruit on the cheese plate (for a sweet, fresh note in contrast to the savory cheese). But we would like to come back and thank you for your hospitality.

I had dinner with friends at your restaurant on October 20th around 6:00 p.m. We were well served and really enjoy coming here. Unfortunately we had a small problem with an employee yesterday. She was a little older and had blonde hair. When we paid, a few friends of ours tipped and some of us didn't. The employee also asked whether something was wrong and also asked why there was no tip, which was very borderline asking something like that. Because I don't know how people ask for tips directly. Then she also booked 10 cents more when she entered the amount on the card reader, even though the price had a straight amount (for example 48 euros, she stated 48.10 euros. You could see how she thought for a moment about what amount to enter. I would describe this procedure as “punishable”) Unfortunately, we only realized afterwards that she had entered it that way on purpose. And after paying she approached an employee and said in front of us that she couldn't understand why some people don't tip. I was so upset that I asked her if it was directed at us. And of course she said it was over another table. Nevertheless, the waitress told me that it was incomprehensible not to get a tip. So it was directed at us after all. This is not America, and everyone has the choice to tip or not.

Stylish ambience and fast service. The hearty tavern cuisine on offer was very tasty. Plus home-brewed beers and everything at reasonable prices. What more could you want? However, reservation is recommended.

Amazing level of service and generally friendly atmosphere even for english speaking tourists. Before we left we already knew we will come back there one day again. Food was absolutely on top. Not even mentioning the price, which is lower than some other restaurant and you can clearly tell the quality here is few levels higher.

Wir sind gleich zwei Abende hier gewesen. Das Essen mega lecker. Das Bier (einige Sorten getestet, für alle hätten wir noch ein paar Tage bleiben müssen) ist premium. Super lecker. Besonderen Dank an die Servicekräfte (Danke Sophia). Ausgesprochen aufmerksam, schnell, freundlich und höflich. Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis definitiv. Da gibt man auch gerne ordentlich Trinkgeld.

A brewery as you would imagine. Hearty German Bavarian cuisine with fresh ingredients. The portions are quite large, the prices are relatively moderate. The service was quick and correct. Just a brewery as you would imagine.

A cozy inn with excellent food and great service I had the pleasure of dining at Bayerischer Bahnhof and was thoroughly impressed. The interior is very inviting, with a warm and cozy atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The furnishings are tastefully designed and create a relaxed environment in which you immediately feel at home. The food was simply outstanding! Every dish my family had was not only wonderfully prepared, but also tasted TOP. I particularly enjoyed the pork knuckle! The service was also exemplary: friendly, attentive and courteous without being intrusive. The staff ensured that we felt in good hands at all times. Overall, I can highly recommend the inn.

Wir waren gestern (montags) zu dritt unangemeldet im bayerischen Bahnhof zum Abendessen. Man fand noch Plätze für uns im fast ausgebuchten Lokal. Die Getränke- und Speisekarte bieten eine Mischung aus sächsischen und bayrischen Speisen. Unsere Wahl fiel auf Haxe, Sülze und kleinen Fleischkäse. Alles war sehr gut. Die Getränke sind so nicht woanders zu bekommen, besonders zu empfehlen ist zum Anfang das Brett mit 4 Probebieren zu 0,15l. Ein grosser Dank geht an unsere Bedienung, die uns mit viel Humor und positiver Ausstrahlung bedient hat. Alles in allem ein sehr lohnenswerter Spaziergang von der Innenstadt aus. Auch per S-Bahn einfach erreichbar.

A beautiful traditional location, very impressive rooms with a historical background, great ambience. The service is first class, you are looked after in a courteous manner and simply feel at home. The food is ok, everything fits together, since the location also houses a Gose brewery, everything is designed in a rustic style that matches the beer, i.e. hearty and home-style, but there is also a good selection of salads, fish and other dishes such as pasta on the map. Small deduction because the bread (side dish) was quite hard, but all in all it tastes good and fills you up, price-performance ratio overall is definitely ok 👍

Place really has charm. To try the beer specialty “Gose” ok. The staff is friendly, but if you don't have a reservation, the concierge is extremely unfriendly.

For example, our schnitzels were really very tasteless. The service is still very attentive, the prices are pleasantly reasonable for a big city and the home-brewed beer is still worth a stop.

Vorab: wir waren schon mehrmals zum Essen im Bayrischen Bahnhof und bisher immer zufrieden. Um 18.30 Uhr einen Tisch bestellt; bei der Getränkebestellung hatte ich ein Festbier bestellt (ließ sich leider nicht nachbestellen da alle- für ein Brauhaus seltsam). Mein Sohn hatte eine Vorspeise, welche serviert wurde und danach passierte nichts. Auf die Frage nach den Hauptgerichten kam die Antwort wir haben viel zu tun; auf meinen Hinweis das Personen welche nach uns kamen bereits ihr Essen hatten wurde nicht reagiert. Nach ca. 1:45 habe ich nach der Rechnung verglangt (wir waren ja zu Essen gekommen und nicht um uns verarschen zu lassen) und plötzlich war das Essen fertig. Leider waren das Essen für meine Frau nicht heiss; die Pommes vom Sohn kalt und die Haxe wurde ohne Senf serviert. Auf unsere Beschwerde wurde nicht reagiert. Zum Schluß wollten wir einiges einpacken lassen; uns wurden zwei Behälter hingestellt zum Selbsteinpacken. Auf unsere Beschwerde erfolgte nichts, keine Entschuldigung. Wir werden für eine sehr lange Zeit diese Gaststätte meiden!

Were visiting our daughter in Leipzig. We wanted to visit the restaurant on Monday. When we arrived we discovered that it wasn't open, even though we had previously checked the opening times online. The entrances were locked and there was only a notice hanging on the door. On the Internet, no matter where you looked, there was no reference to this special “day of rest”. The next day we tried again. However, we called beforehand to confirm the opening. When we arrived again, we were greeted by a waiter who said: "Everything is full. You should have made a reservation!" rejected. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of information and communication, he reacted very friendly and understanding, but still firmly. We then bought a beer outside in the cold, drafty beer garden and sat down for a moment. Less than 5 minutes later the waiter came back and said that they couldn't let this go and that they completely understood our situation. He spoke to his colleagues and cleared a space for us. It has to be said that we were accompanied by our two really large dogs. I was very amazed and pleasantly surprised that something like this still exists. That wouldn't have happened to us in Munich. The waiter led us to a nice, large table in a quiet location, with plenty of space for us and our animals. We were speechless. We enjoyed excellent service and excellent food in a great atmosphere. Because of service desert Germany. Obviously not here! We had a very nice evening and will definitely come back. Many thanks again to the team at the Bavarian train station.

Shady, cozy, with a playground for small children. The home-brewed beer tastes best in the beer garden. The food is of a high standard. People still really cook here. That's another reason to come back again and again. Price and performance are right. The atmosphere is cozy, brewery style. The service is also good. Recommendation!

Very nicely located, especially from the inside. Kellerin was less concerned with providing good service. Food was mediocre - not bad, but not really good either. Schnitzel with 5 fried potatoes for 20€. It was filling. Don't come back. Sitting outside in the beer garden can be very nice.

We were guests here in the beer garden on Saturday evening. The ambience is quite nice, but you order yourself and so the waiters' evaluation is actually superfluous. The spare ribs were without sauce, the fries were almost unseasoned and also without cabbage (salad). A bit loveless and tasteless. Drinks are quite good, but for ambience I would recommend the little neighbor next door.

Iconic and unmissable place. Very warm and professional welcome, atypical and cozy setting, unfortunately the food looks more like a canteen than a brasserie of this level. Damage !! Tomato sauce for industrial tagliatelle, super fatty breaded chicken like pork ribs. The place is very attractive but poor value for money.

Deceptively large pub / restaurant, housed in an old railway station, which is well worth a visit, even a detour, if you’re in or around Leipzig. Home to the famous reinvented gose beer, which should bee tried and can be easily worth a flight of the house beers. Main meals are large and very tasty, pork knuckle especially recommended. Service is excellent, friendly and accommodating. We went twice during a week in Leipzig. Seek it out!

We were on our way to the Baltic Sea and got to know the old town of Leipzig better with a city tour. A reference to this beautiful place then led us straight to the beer garden with really good food. Very good cuisine and delicious beer. Very nice atmosphere inside too. If we come to Leipzig again, this is a must visit. Absolutely recommended. Travel time at the beginning of August.

Biergarten-Idyll fast wie in Bayern. Wollten Sie immer schon mal Spareribs oder Obatzdn mit frischem Brot oden Brezn außerhalb Bayerns genießen, dann sind Sie hier richtig. Mit einem echten Eisenbahn-Waggon im Eingangsbereich und einem Abteil aus dem Simplon-Orientexpress als Toilette...

Food is way too expensive and doesn't taste good. I had the salad and it was completely bitter and a few leaves were rotten. I didn't even eat half of it. Sorry but please work more on it. The staff is very nice and the look of the building is very interesting. (first visit)

We celebrated an 85th birthday today. Everything from Ab to Z was perfect. The food was great, the home brew was delicious, the coffee was great Damn, I found nothing to complain about... Thumbs up!

If you are a beer lover you shouldn't miss this place. They brew the "Grose" which is typical beer from the area. They also have beer tasting paddle. Food was good and not overpriced. Just one advice, they didn't have wifi and the only way to get the English menu is by scanning a QR code , so either try to download before or go with internet. Nonetheless staff was very helpful and described the dishes that we were curious about. So this shouldn't be a reason to stop you to visit this place

A very nice place to enjoy delicious Leipzig beer with nice people under a green roof of ancient plane trees. Definitely try the Gose!! Didn't order any food, but it looked really good too.

Very nice service in a large location that is not too loud due to the different areas. Food tastes good and beers are good. Located just outside the city (10-15 minutes on foot from the Gewandhaus/Opera). The Goosebier (a specialty originally from the Harz region) is tangy and tastes almost like Bremer or Berliner Weisse with woodruff or raspberries.

A place to enjoy, anyone who loves the rustic Bavarian beer garden feeling will get their money's worth here. The selection of food and drinks makes every heart beat faster, a good place to go, especially as a beer lover, delicious, drinkable home-brewed beers perfect on a summer evening.

It has long been a Leipzig institution. I know the empty buildings from the years of reunification and am always happy to see what a gem the Bayerischer Bahnhof has become. Home-brewed, delicious beers, Leipziger Gose and Allasch - you should try all of this here! The interiors offer many different rooms, quiet or busy. The beer garden is not very big (a Bavarian would say ;-), but it is beautiful and completely shaded by large plane trees - ideal for hot summer evenings. The food is typical of a beer garden, hearty and delicious. As a vegetarian you don't have much to choose from, but you can get through the evening well.

We were on a city trip and were looking for a beer garden and ended up here. A great beer garden with really good food, different types of beer, including home-brewed. I had a Franconian snack plate...amazing 😅 So definitely recommended for healthy hunger🤠 When we are in Leipzig again, this will definitely be a must visit. Greetings to the team✌🏼

Like 1 scoop of ice cream the queue to order grew to over 20!! drives people up. A guest's complaint that he got the wrong ice cream had to be the only one! Clear the checkout lady in the kitchen. So you had to line up at the front of the gate at number 21, very annoyed, for just one beer (the guests were waiting on two sides of the guest garden to spend their money). We're not in Disneyland, so there's no socializing when one person is guarding the table while the other has to wait in line for half an hour. Why do you let your guests in the 21st century? Don't order via app? This way you also save personnel, I understand the need. But it doesn't mean that there is only one cash desk that is also responsible for complaints. Someone else can also handle this if, for example, a scoop of ice cream is complained about. The beer garden was a dream, the food and beer were good, but we didn't feel like spending our only evening in Leipzig waiting in queues to order a beer. Please get support for a reorganization, give enough efficient examples - it's a real shame about this beautiful location.

Good beer here, food just average (and the Schweinhaxe wasn’t available?!) The booking system seems to suggest it’s booked up for days ahead, but we took a chance at 8.45pm on a Thursday and there were loads of tables free.

Firstly: The food and drinks taste excellent here. 2. At certain times the restaurant reaches its upper capacity limit and you should make a reservation. In the beer garden, where you can sit comfortably, it is only self-service (get your drinks yourself, food is put at the table) and it was very crowded on a Thursday evening 😬. I just don't think that's nice, even if there is supposedly a "staff shortage". 3. The waiting time was an unpleasant 40 minutes. Oh well.

Were literally grossed out today. Unfortunately the beer garden was closed. Despite the better weather forecast, there was no chance to sit outside with the children. When we sat down at a table in the winter garden with access to the beer garden, we were immediately "shooed away". This had just become free at 12 p.m. and was only reserved again from 3 p.m., but we were still very rudely asked to leave. This restaurant manager was so arrogant and nasty. With her "appearance" and manner, she would be better off in a bar. But apparently good staff has become rare. We are thinking about coming back as regular guests for 20 years!

We were here often. However, there is a male person at the service who has no sense of service thought and is very unfriendly and very rude to the guests. Everyone else is friendly and nice to the guests. Since there are many dining options in Leipzig, we will never come here again as this has happened to us every time we have been bullied. Really a great location. We had dinner with 11 people on Saturday, from the reservation to the ambience, the very attentive staff, everything was great! The beer is beyond any doubt. And of course the food: the price/performance ratio is currently unparalleled in Leipzig. Very large portions at incredibly fair prices. And it tastes really good. Thank you very much, I would be happy to come again. Absolute recommendation.

Authentic Bavarian food with a lovely atmosphere.

The waitress was very unfriendly on July 26, 24 (She gave bad answers, like if I make it to the kitchen, then I'll bring some more sauce. And she said she has too much to do, she doesn't have time.) We've been there several times and The restaurant was also great. Such an answer doesn't work at all.

Between the sightseeing tour in the scorching heat and the Kaiser concert, we fortified ourselves here under the large shady trees in the beer garden. We ordered the sausage salad, Bavarian liver cheese and the huge potato bread with spreads, it was amazing. Everything was really tasty and huge portions. We even ate the rest of the bread at home the day after next. Only the Gose beer wasn't really my thing, but instead there was a delicious, cool, naturally cloudy Pilsner on tap. We really liked it here and for that I give it full marks (which is actually rarely given). Best regards from Pulsnitztal in Saxony!

The quality is unmatched by any other restaurant in Leipzig! You notice the clear difference between the established inn at the Bayerischer Bahnhof and the restaurants, for example, in the south of Leipzig, which are not far away, but do not offer anywhere near the courteous staff, the ambience and high-quality dishes. The food was excellent. Because of a small faux pas on the part of the waitress, she apologized with a special dish of dumplings and meat, free of charge with my order. And said: "I don't want to have any dissatisfied guests." I've never experienced anything like that. The waiters pay much more attention to their guests than in any restaurant in Leipzig. I'm excited!

Large location in a great building, everyone serving was super friendly. Unfortunately, it echoes enormously and the main target group of older people tends to be hard of hearing, which results in a mix of screaming grandmas, clattering and the latest Edeka playlist. My spareribs were poorly cleaned, the silver skin is still hanging in my teeth. I can get the brewery fries to be crispier in my old oven at home and the BBQ sauce that came with them could have been served to a three-year-old as a confectionary without hesitation. My companion had beautifully presented fish and chips with the same poor fries and a slightly rancid taste in the fish, as it apparently wasn't properly removed from the skin and dark meat before breading. This is definitely not acceptable quality for the price.

The beer garden is a TOP summer location. Thanks to the many trees there are enough shady places. The menu offers a large selection of great dishes. The self-service concept is great 👌 and there are no long waiting times after ordering. Highly recommended are the potato bread, the extra sausage salad and the schnitzel 😋

The Bayerischer Bahnhof is an institution in Leipzig and an integral part of the gastronomic landscape. I have sat here countless times and enjoyed the time. Accessibility by public transport or car is first class. No matter where you sit, whether in the beer garden, in one of the numerous guest rooms, or in the carriage in the entrance area - you as a guest will not suffer any hardship here. Excellent and always friendly service, delicious home-brewed beers and solid food. It's always a pleasure to come back there. Now I finally managed to take part in a beer seminar. Mr. Kohl led the event professionally and humorously. I really liked it and last but not least, I can now call myself a certified beerologist. Thank you for this experience and the always high quality in this gastro temple!

We had dinner there with the family last weekend. It was really great, everything was great. Unfortunately, one star was deducted because there was no more pork knuckle at 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Otherwise everything was great from the staff to the ambience to the food. We will be back

A beautiful beer garden where my wife and I always like to go. The food and service are great, but when it's full it's sometimes a bit chaotic, it's hard to please everyone, but if you order two meals, it often happened that it was delivered with a delay and it was over 15 minutes, that's it long. Unfortunately, the queue to order is sometimes very long and it sometimes takes 20 to 30 minutes before you can order. If it were quicker it would be a perfect beer garden.

Went spontaneously to the beer garden today. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the beer garden. The beer garden is very nice. Orders are self-service. The employee was very friendly. You take your own drinks with you - food is served at the table - so don't forget to remember the table number so you can tell it when ordering ;-). We had fish and chips. Was very nicely prepared. Cucumber salad is delicious, fries too. Unfortunately I have to deduct points for the salmon. It was very, very dry - perhaps not suitable for the dish or left in the deep fryer for a shorter time.

We were at the train station last night and had a great, friendly and extremely fast colleague who served us. With her great manner and Berlin dialect [Mrs. B.] made our evening more than just outstanding. The food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere in the station was very pleasant. One of my favorite beer gardens in Leipzig. There was delicious gose and, for dinner, pork knuckle brawn and fried potatoes with remoulade. Add a small salad and you're done. I highly recommend it. 👌

I usually like to give my feedback in person. However, since the waitress left our table in the middle of the conversation, I now take the opportunity to give the “Bayerischer Bahnhof” team honest feedback: Two days ago I reserved a table online for 2 p.m. for two people. The food was very good and the waiter who brought it to us gave us a friendly smile😊. Unfortunately, this was the only employee who visibly exuded joy in his job. Everyone else seemed absent, unfriendly and not very attentive. It started with the receptionist and ended with said waitress. At around 3:15 p.m., two new reservation signs for 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. were placed on our table without comment. Although the following guests, who were already there at 4:45 p.m., had a seat at the next table, we were greeted with the curt words: "That's just the way it is." asked to pay and leave the table. My girlfriend and I are fed up with the restaurant, but we are personally disappointed and have to leave with a bad feeling. We will definitely choose another restaurant for our next meeting. My two requests: 🍀It would be nice if an indication of the possible length of stay could be given when making the online reservation. 🍀I wish all subsequent guests more friendliness and communication skills🍀on the part of the staff. Very nice beer garden. I just don't like the ordering system

Basically not bad food or ambience. There were 7 of us sitting in the outdoor seating area, so there was no service but we ordered beer/food at the stand. I had chicken wings with fries and cucumber salad. The fries were very good, the wings were average at best, like the frozen stuff from the supermarket, you can hardly mess it up. The cucumber salad was ok but not super good. I really like dill in cucumber salad, but unfortunately it wasn't there. My companions found the food to be average to good. There was pasta, fish & chips, ribs (very average), the vegan dish (only one) and a snack (which was very well received). You can recommend the ambience, but you shouldn't set your expectations too high.

The food and beer were delicious and served quickly. Unfortunately, the receptionist's greeting and interaction with us was very condescending and passive aggressive, which left the whole thing with a bitter aftertaste.

Great service...we felt very comfortable 👍

The service is really great - quick, friendly and attentive!! The quality of the food is also great - everything is very tasty!! We had the tagliatelle, the Brauhaus schnitzel, the 5 meat patties, fish and chips, quark legs - everything was top notch. The 15 stop is right in front of the door - easy arrival and departure We will be back!!

An excellent restaurant. On Mondays after visiting the zoo the two of us were there in the Birgarten and on Wednesdays in the restaurant both were just great. A very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was both first class. The beer I recommend is the Schwarzbier (Heizer), which I myself am a black beer fan and an all-round good and successful beer. A little tip: you can also buy it freshly bottled there. Peiss performance ratio class. As soon as I'm back in Leipzig I'll come back.
