We went out to eat with the whole family yesterday, and it was fantastic. Even our dog was there. Before our meal was served, the kids were given something to paint and the dog a bag of treats. What fantastic service! We felt completely in good hands. The food was delicious, and the highlights on the menu were just as you'd expect in our hometown. 🥰 We'll be back.

We visited this restaurant yesterday and were absolutely thrilled! Upon entering, we received a warm welcome and were immediately served in a friendly manner. The service was attentive, quick, yet unobtrusive, and very friendly – ​​exactly what you'd expect. The food was a real highlight: The dishes were freshly prepared, lovingly presented, and simply delicious. The menu selection is diverse, and you can immediately tell that high-quality ingredients are used here. We'd like to particularly highlight dishes like "the Swabian plate" and "the children's plate, which was so beautifully presented in a Mickey Mouse plate." We were also pleasantly surprised by the value for money. The price is more than fair for the quality and service. We are completely satisfied and will definitely return! In conclusion: A restaurant that impresses in every respect – from the friendly service to the first-class food and the fantastic ambiance. Absolutely recommend it!

We ate at Bayer Sepple several times this week. Nice seating right on the market square. Consistently friendly, attentive service. Whether it was salads, meat dishes, or the lunch menu, everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Update June 2025 We can't really recommend the restaurant anymore. I had a salad with gratinated goat cheese; the dressing was tasteless and watery. The carrot salad was from a jar, and the cucumber salad was probably the same. Baguette was only available upon request. My husband had cheese spaetzle, but the portion was very manageable.

Disappointing Visit to Bayer Sepple in Waldkirch My son and I visited the Bayer Sepple restaurant in Waldkirch to enjoy dinner in a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, our visit turned out to be a very disappointing experience. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel for €22.90, served with fries and salad. My son chose the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). When our food was served, I was already surprised: On my plate were two schnitzels, practically dripping in old frying fat. Neither in taste nor appearance, they bore any resemblance to a real Wiener Schnitzel – the breading was soggy and greasy. I politely asked the friendly waitress to replace the dish. She took the plate away and after a while brought a new portion – but with the same problems: two very greasy, plain schnitzels with crumbly breading. When I pointed out again that I had ordered a Wiener Schnitzel – as stated on the menu – and not a regular schnitzel of this type, there was a heated argument. The owner himself appeared at our table and reacted extremely unprofessionally. Without addressing my criticism, he loudly expelled us in front of the other guests, saying, "The guests want to leave NOW, immediately." A completely inappropriate reaction to objectively expressed criticism. For a restaurant centrally located in a spa town like Waldkirch—right in the pedestrian zone—this behavior is unacceptable. The restaurant appears inviting from the outside, but what we were offered was neither satisfactory in quality nor hospitable. It's a shame that criticism is apparently not handled professionally. Conclusion: Not a place you'd want to return to. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended.

There were 4 of us, the food looked good for everyone and everyone was happy Had Viennese schnitzel, salad, fries and sauce were good but you shouldn't have expected a guest to have the 2 schnitzels They were so full of tendons, cartilage and other stuff that you could only get through them with a knife with a lot of pressure and long cuts In your mouth it wasn't any better, you couldn't break the bite and usually had to swallow completely after chewing a lot We can recommend the restaurant because all the other dishes looked very appealing at other tables Maybe I was just unlucky, but I can't give it more than 2 points because I'm very robust when it comes to food and not a whiner in any way.

I simply love the food at this restaurant. For me, it's the best value for money in the region. Two years after my first review, the food is still amazing. It's my favorite German restaurant.

Wir waren abends spontan dort ohne zu reservieren. Wir haben nur kurz warten müssen und wurden auch dauerhaft über den Stand der Wartezeit informiert. Die Bedienung war super und das gutbürgerliche Essen war sehr lecker! Obwohl die Preise etwas teurer waren, sind die Portionen auch echt groß gewesen. Ich hatte ein sehr großes Rumpsteak das perfekt auf den Gar-Grad (Medium-rare) gebraten wurde. Wir waren super zufrieden. Preis-Leistung war super Bedienung nett und zuvorkommend und wir haben einen sehr schönen Abend verbracht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben während unseres Urlaubs zweimal zu Abend gegessen. Das Restaurant ist rustikal eingerichtet, die Wände mit Holz vertäfelt. Es macht dadurch schon auf den ersten Blick einen gemütlichen Eindruck. Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir können folgende Gerichte als erstklassig empfehlen: Schwabenteller (zwei Kalbssteaks auf Käsespätzle), Portion Käsespätzle oder Rumpsteak mit Kräuterbutter. Alle Fleischscheiben waren sehr zart. Sehr gute Qualität und Zubereitung.

draußen unter Schirmen auf dem schönen Marktplatz sitzen oder drinnen mit holzgetäfelter Wirtshaus-Atmosphäre. Bedienung flott und sehr freundlich. Gerichte auf der Karte deftig/rustikal, traditionelle Gerichte wie saure Leberle, die man nicht mehr überall angeboten bekommt. Meine Kalbsbratwürste waren sehr gut, die Röstzwiebeln etwas zu ‚al dente‘, die Bratensauce passte nach meinem Geschmack nicht dazu. Gemischter Salat groß und vielfältig. Eine solide Leistung.

The asparagus soup I ordered turned out to be a large soup, which surprised and pleased me very much. The fried potatoes were fried perfectly and the sausage salad was very well seasoned. Since 1815! A very charming old restaurant. I had a local white wine and Spargel Toast, since it was Spargel (asparagus) season. White Spargel on ham and toasted bread covered with cheese and Hollandaise sauce, along with a chopped vegetable salad that included pickeled radish slices. All very yummy.

We have been searching for a traditional German restaurant in Waldkirch at 9 p.m., most of them were already closing or had their kitchen already closed, so you could've gotten just something to drink. Gladly, we found the "Bayer Sepple", their kitchen is open until 9:30 p.m. and we have had some nice German beer and schnitzel. The waitress was really nice and friendly, the food was really good and the price was also fine. -------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------- We were out in the evening looking for something to eat in Waldkirch as we were in DE. Unfortunately, there aren't that many restaurants that are open at 9 p.m. or even open their own kitchens. Luckily we went to Bayer-Sepple, the service was incredibly friendly, food was available until 9:30 p.m. The food was very good and the value for money was also right! Highly recommended, especially at a late hour! :)

Ja das Bayer Sepple ,das gehört zu Waldkirch, die Küche ist nicht mehr das was es mal war ,die soßen aus dem päckche das schnitzel zeh oder nicht durch sowie auch das putenschnitzel ,wenn man für nehr leute tisch bestellt na ja überschlägt sie sich nicht gerade mit freundlichkeit ,und he mehr los ist um so unfreundlicher schaut sie trein ,ja schade des war einer der besten und dann noch direkt auf den Marktplatz schade ,ich bin jetzt zweimal mit vielen leute da gewesen aber das essen wo ich bekommen haben kann sogar mein sohn bessers da solte man auf keinen fall Schnitzel essen gehen geht garn nicht

Das Gutbürgerliche gefällt mir. Hier esse ich immer, auch an heißen Tagen die Tagessuppe, weil die Suppen beim Sepple sind super. Wir essen hier gerne da die Essen geschmacklich uns zusagen.

Ich kam kurz vor 14:00 Uhr, trotzdem erhielt ich noch ein Mittagessen. Fazit: sehr freundlich, Essen war ausgezeichnet, Suppe vorweg, Salat frisch zubereitet mit extra Salatgabel, Cordon bleu mit Pommes. DANKE

Wir waren nach einer Wanderung spontan hier. Bier und Rhabarberschorle mit einer Flädlesuppe und einem Salat mit gefüllten Kartoffelecken, ganz hervorragend. Anschließend noch einen schönen Espresso Macchiato . Der Service von der Tochter des Hauses super und sehr umsichtig 👍 Beim nächsten Urlaub hier ganz bestimmt wieder!

Ein altes Traditionshaus, das es noch gibt, habe nur was getrunken, die Dame im Service war sehr schnell, und wirklich freundlich, liegt direkt am Marktplatz.
