I went there for the first time yesterday and had pork knuckle and their home-brewed beer. Everything was delicious, so I highly recommend it.

I was there on January 12, 2026, and ordered the Brauhaus Burger. The burger was great. I had fries as a side dish. However, they were very pale and half-raw inside. I complained about this and received new fries. But the second time, the fries were exactly the same as the first time – half-raw. 🤷‍♂️ The staff were very friendly and attentive. Top marks! 👍

The restaurant itself looks very cozy and modern. Unfortunately, neither the food nor the service were convincing. The food wasn't particularly tasty, and the service left much to be desired. We were very surprised to find that we had to pay €2.50 per plate for eating a cake we had brought with us. While the owner was accommodating and only charged us for six plates, we still found it odd to charge guests extra for plates. We were also not allowed to light a candle on the cake, which we couldn't understand, as no explanation was given. Overall, our visit was disappointing. Due to the poor quality of the food, we won't be returning.

Traditional German food, top-quality and varied craft beer brewed right there in the restaurant—an authentic experience I highly recommend to everyone. We love going every time we travel to Germany (Göppingen). The interior design is spectacular, and you can see the stills where the different beers are brewed. I also recommend the beer tastings...they're fantastic!

We were there on Good Friday. The reception and service were very friendly and efficient. The gadget with the beer sample was especially great. The food could have been warmer and there could have been a bit more of it. It's also a shame that you can't take all the beers home with you. Normally it would be 3.5 stars.

We went there for lunch today. The food was okay, but in some parts, the price wasn't justified. The onion roast beef from the rump weighed an estimated 150g raw. It went straight from the refrigerator into the pan. It was cooked to the correct doneness, but the meat was very rubbery. The Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) were good, but the potato salad unfortunately wasn't. I suspect it sat under the heat bridge for quite a while; at least it had a slight skin on the surface. Taste-wise, it was a mix of poorly seasoned and store-bought. The lentils and schnitzel were good, but if the menu lists Spätzle (egg noodles) and they serve Knöpfle (small dumplings), then that's simply not acceptable for a Swabian! The burger with a store-bought bun and cheap fries is, unfortunately, a complete no-go for 20 euros! Conclusion: Average, and it doesn't make me want to go back.

We went to the Barfüsser restaurant in Göppingen today for dinner – we ordered, among other things, pork tenderloin with Spätzle (€18.50). What arrived was a joke – one whole and one HALF piece of tenderloin, about 1 cm thick. The Spätzle were sufficient, but seriously, what was the point of that meat? Absolutely unacceptable! The server was incredibly friendly and apologized profusely, but she really can't be held responsible for what's ordered from higher up. It's a shame, we've always enjoyed the food, but this was definitely the last time. 😢

I was there today with my siblings. The food looked good at first glance, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm and didn't taste as good as expected… The salad and chestnut soup were, for once, okay! After half an hour, we started experiencing stomach problems, so we'll have to cross this restaurant off our list. The staff was friendly but not very attentive, as we waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken! There are significantly better Swabian restaurants in the Göppingen area (in the same price range). What a shame…

After several disappointing visits with our group of six, I have to vent. The service and processes here simply don't work. The restaurant is at most a quarter full, and you wait forever for service. The food arrives before the drinks, ordering more requires a lot of waving, and parts of the order are forgotten. When you ask, you get poorly made-up excuses, very politely explained, and when it comes time to pay, the expected reminder about the possibility of leaving a tip is never omitted. And then they never forget it. For the next two years, we'll definitely be eating elsewhere. It's a shame. The food was always delicious, but when the staff is very polite but does a poor job, it's just not worth it.

The ambiance here is more modern than at the "Andechser." But by no means better, just different. Overall, it's like this: "Andechser" is traditionally Bavarian, while Barfüßer is more for a younger crowd who might want a specialty hamburger. The food only gets 4 stars here because there are always a few mistakes. One roast beef was medium, the other well-done (also ordered medium). Was the schnitzel even homemade? The breading wasn't crisp at all. I've also had hard, dry bread dumplings there (thawed?). My "Winter Duck" was excellent! The service hardly ever asks if you'd like anything else to drink! There's definitely room for improvement!

Review of Barfüßer Göppingen Unfortunately, my visit to Barfüßer in Göppingen was a huge disappointment. The roast beef I ordered (medium) was tough as leather, the gravy tasted worse than any store-bought sauce, and the spaetzle had absolutely no flavor other than butter. It was as if the spaetzle had been kept warm on a hot plate and were only ever stirred with butter. The salad was also served on a warm plate – completely inappropriate. Furthermore, the menu listed potato dumplings as available, but they couldn't be ordered with the roast beef. Overall, a very disappointing meal that in no way justifies the price.

It definitely offers plenty of space to eat in peace and quiet, without being crowded at the next table. The cuisine is typical of the area, and we were very satisfied. There's a bit of that chain vibe, but otherwise, we had a good time.

I have rarely experienced such disgusting and shameful behavior towards paying customers as in this establishment. We were friendly, quiet, drank normally, and even left a generous tip. Instead of receiving respect in return, we were yelled at, insulted, and threatened with a ban for absolutely no reason, just before we were about to leave anyway. We only had one more sip left in our glasses. The staff wasn't stressed; they were power-hungry, loud, and disrespectful. Their tone demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Treating guests like troublemakers while losing control of themselves? That's not service; that's a lack of character in uniform. Anyone who respects themselves and values ​​decent behavior should avoid this place. There are plenty of establishments that still understand hospitality; this one clearly isn't one of them. After this experience, I can only say: Disgusting behavior from the staff, absolutely off-putting.

OLD fat on the brewery schnitzel 😢😢😢

It was delicious, and the portions were generous. The children even got crayons and a coloring sheet. Excellent service, excellent value for money. We'll be back. Positive changes were observed, especially the great new staff and the menu adjustments, such as wider fries.

We were there for a visit. The atmosphere was very nice. But the food was okay. We ordered pumpkin cream soup and got a vegetable instant broth. It had nothing to do with pumpkin cream soup. They could have at least taken the soup off the bill as an apology when paying.

We were with 6 people. We had to wait 20min for our drinks. 1 person had to wait 50 min for soup. Other had to wait 20 min for main course. When we ask where our food/drinks are, they were very rude and disrespectfull. Really disappointed and angry.

The food was okay, but nothing you can't get on every other corner in Germany. Our waitress was new and made a few mistakes—understandable, and she even apologized. It's just a shame that it took almost 50 minutes to get everything right. But the way the rest of the staff yelled at us just because we asked about the missing dish?... completely unnecessary. The staff are running around like headless chickens. I honestly feel sorry for the new waitress. Not a good start for her, working in such a chaotic, obviously managerless place. Two wrong orders and then being insulted when you ask them to correct them—that makes no sense to me. And to top it all off: the bartender, who took 20 minutes to pour three wines and two beers, and in the process, showed us what "impudence" really means with his behavior. It was simply embarrassing and disgraceful.

I've rarely eaten such bad roast beef with onions. Instead of medium, as ordered, I got a bloody, tough piece of meat. We sent the food back. They asked us if we wanted a new meal, which we accepted, and after five minutes they returned our old meal, which wasn't much better. The server didn't even ask if the food was OK, and they didn't even ask us for drinks. Our negative comments were ignored. It was simply a complete disgrace!!!! We will never go to this restaurant again!!!!!!!!

We were there on Friday, September 19, 2025. The waitresses at number 3 successfully ignored us. We left and told the person who walked past us twice. She replied, "Goodbye." Apparently, they don't need to make any sales.

On Friday evening, with three people and no reservation, which could have been problematic, we were warmly welcomed by the competent gentleman at the reception, who made every effort to find us a table. This gesture deserves thanks in itself. The entire evening was extremely pleasant. Our waiter, Noel, was always in a good mood, friendly, and attentive. Even ordering drinks was a pleasant experience, especially the home-brewed beer, which was a delight and worth mentioning. The waiter clearly enjoyed his work; he was always attentive and communicative. Our special requests for food were easily accommodated and fulfilled. All in all, the evening was a positive one. The food was attractively presented, and the portions were generous and delicious. In summary, the concept at Barfüßer is well thought out from start to finish and is perfectly coherent. At the end of the evening, we treated ourselves to two bottles of the house liqueur as souvenirs; it was a shame the gift box was sold out. Thank you very much! Although the Barfüßer is not in our immediate vicinity, we will still see each other again because of this positive experience.

I spent a long time looking for a good German/Swabian restaurant and finally found it at the Barfüßer. Service: very friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Special requests were easily accommodated. Food: ox cheeks were tender and flavorful, roast beef with onions was solid, and knuckle of pork was juicy with a crispy crust. My only criticism: the schnitzel was a bit greasy. The fries and potato salad were excellent, while the spaetzle was rather average. Very good and varied sauces. Dessert: Datschi (a German pastry with a sweet and creamy pancake), a bit bland, but excellent thanks to the plum sauce. Conclusion: The Barfüßer is not a gourmet restaurant, but a brewery—and that's exactly how it should be judged. Minor weaknesses (e.g., with the schnitzel) are manageable given the overall picture and the fair price. Overall, a lively, good restaurant with solid cuisine, where you'll gladly return.

Tough beef. Lemon-lime soda is simply a sweet fizz. Fries, spaetzle, salad, chicken breast, and Maultaschen are good. Schnitzel is okay, but could be better. Potato salad is so-so. Nice location.

The food is very good, but in my opinion, some dishes are quite expensive. But I think there's something for every taste and every budget.

The food was a bit small for the price, but still okay. The taste was average. What I didn't like at all was the begging for tips using my debit card. If there's no clear cancel button, you're forced to leave a tip (not me, but my family member). I don't want to experience that kind of American experience. We visited today for the third time. The schnitzel and salad were – as usual – excellent and delicious. The wait for the food was also pleasingly short. Unfortunately, the spaetzle weren't impressive this time. We also had to wait about five minutes in the entrance area before one of the numerous employees approached us and escorted us to our table – even though several employees walked by without greeting us or acknowledging us. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Delicious beer. Good schnitzel. Large portions. Extensive food and drink menu. Large restaurant with plenty of space.

The ambiance is very appealing, with comfortable seats and chairs, and everything fits in perfectly with the decor. The order is taken and processed by the very prompt and professional service staff. I ordered a roast beef with onions and was even asked how it was done. The meat was cooked to perfection and beautifully tender. The onions were braised real onions, which nicely complemented the flavor with the dark beer sauce. Spätzle was served as a side dish. Unfortunately, they generally skimp on the sauce, and the Spätzle are quite dry. I ordered this beer sauce separately for this. It was delivered promptly. However, it was a different sauce, which tasted strongly of a ready-made product, and you could see residue from the sauce powder in the sauce boat. Unfortunately, I didn't finish my Spätzle because the taste was unappealing and overpowered the delicious taste of the roast beef with onions. You can do better, and that's why I'm deducting a star. Anyone who prepares such a delicious piece of meat will easily be able to make some extra sauce themselves. Hopefully, it will work next time.

Yesterday we were at Barfüßer for the fifth time. I'm still absolutely thrilled with the restaurant. The food is always delicious (I had the Brauhaus Maultaschen again, and I've also had the tarte flambée and the Kässpätzle). The service is always very friendly and attentive. And, of course, what's also worth mentioning is the great ambiance. Very tasteful.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and always busy. We sat on the terrace and were served quickly. The portions are very large and the food came to us quickly. It tasted very good and I would come back at any time.

The food is delicious, but the spaetzle is actually Knöpfle, even though it's spelled "SPÄTZLE." Unfortunately, the tarte flambée has also been removed from the menu. The Kaiserschmarrn is incredibly delicious and highly recommended.

This evening we had dinner at the Barfüsser Brewery without a reservation. Very modern and chic furnishings. Nice and quick service. Usual menu for a brewery. We had the Wiener Schnitzel with spaetzle and a side salad. Very tasty, fresh and rich. Very good price-performance ratio. We'll be back!

The wild garlic dip was missing from my meal. Otherwise very tasty.

Beer is good, food is mass produced

We had to wait a while for the food but there was a lot going on.

Lukewarm food, allergy and additives not present in the menu. Is very important for people suffering from allergies. Like with us where there was nougat ice cream on the menu and hazelnut ice cream with the apple crumble. We should have asked if we asked. An absurdity. Otherwise everything is okay so far.

First the good. Ambiance is really pleasant. Service was overwhelmed and more or less ignored me after I expressed a request. Schnitzel was good. Spaetzle probably came from the bag but the potato salad took the cake. The fact that it comes out of the bucket and isn't homemade seems to me to be bad for the image of a "traditional" company. There really are also acceptable ones out of the box. Only this potato salad is an absolute no-go for me as a Swabian. Were there once and won't go there again.

The best schnitzel I've ever enjoyed, nice and crispy, juicy and huge! The cheese spaetzle was just so delicious and cheesy that I could come over every day! The peach-elderberry tea was also incredibly good and of course refreshingly sweet, not as sugary but nice and mild as it should be. The beer is also good to treat yourself to and is recommended, there are a few varieties to choose from. If you're in the area and want to treat yourself, you definitely have to stop by here!

Deftige süddeutsche Hausmannskost in guter Qualität und geschmacklich sehr gut, das gibt’s im Barfüsser Restaurant Göppingen. Rustikale Einrichtung mit viel Naturholz bietet ein gemütliches Ambiente. Service funktioniert prima und unaufdringlich. Uns hat es beim wiederholten Besuch wieder sehr gut gefallen!

Hearty southern German home cooking of good quality and very tasty, that's what you get at the Barfüsser Restaurant Göppingen. Rustic furnishings with lots of natural wood offer a cozy atmosphere. Service works well and unobtrusively. We really enjoyed our repeated visit!

Disappointing experience - long wait and warmed up food We ate at Barfüße with the family yesterday and unfortunately had a very negative experience. We ordered at 7:30 p.m., but even after over an hour - at 8:45 p.m. - our food still wasn't there. Only after we asked was it finally served. Unfortunately it was immediately clear that the food was not fresh. The fries were soft and reheated, the schnitzel looked like it had been fried again, and the onion roast was cold inside while the sauce was just poured over it. It seemed like they had forgotten our order and tried to cover it up with warmed up food. To make matters worse, communication within the team seemed to be poor. We were transferred between tables and suspicions arose that our food had originally been delivered to the wrong table. The employee in charge went into the kitchen several times and finally came with the statement: “Then we’ll just do it like this.” Ultimately, two dishes were taken off our bill, but we still had to pay over €74 for this disappointing meal. 1 hour and 40 minutes waiting time for warmed food - that is simply unacceptable. A truly disappointing experience that we have never had before!

Unfortunately, once again the food wasn't even remotely worth the money. Possibly the wrong choice on my part, but it has already been so bad several times that we have decided not to give the barefooted animal another chance.
