We love going here. The restaurant is right on the water near the lock, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the kids can play on a bouncy castle.

A truly delicious Indian restaurant. Every dish features plenty of meat. Beautiful views of the lock from the garden. Very busy, so be sure to make a reservation on weekends.

The food was okay. The ambiance at the lock is, of course, fantastic. Service could be improved, especially for groups; food would be forgotten. Drinks had to be refilled several times because they were forgotten. What is completely unacceptable is that service staff are reprimanded in front of guests. That's unfortunately not appropriate for a restaurant like this.

We come here regularly and are always very satisfied. I highly recommend it.

I have to say, it was really lovely at BAPU. The ambiance speaks for itself. I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful Indian restaurant in Berlin and the surrounding area. The service was really attentive. The food itself was also very tasty. However, I found it a bit oily. Despite that, I would still say the food was delicious. I recommend this restaurant, simply for the ambiance, but also for the service. Thank you for the kind service 😁

The restaurant was almost empty, yet we still had to wait longer than usual. The numerous service staff were so inattentive that the overall impression was negative, despite the restaurant's nice location. The food was okay, but rather expensive. The drink size (lassi) was smaller than stated on the menu. No one asked us if we wanted a second drink. Not worth a second visit.

Today we were a little disappointed. We've eaten here several times because the food is so incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, the service today left a lot to be desired. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else. We definitely would have had more drinks and even dessert if they hadn't ignored us for so long. We hope it was just bad luck and will be back anyway.

Can't recommend it. It's very tasteless, and one bowl of rice for four people is simply ridiculous. We even had to pay for the second bowl. We were visiting Potsdam, and there was no comparison at all in our hometown. Sorry, never again!

We were there for lunch. It was a very authentic restaurant, but it was a bit dated, with cobwebs on the ceiling and chairs that needed a makeover. The food and service were very good. The prices were great, but perhaps it would be better to raise the prices slightly and invest more in maintenance.

The food is incredibly delicious. It was our first time at an Indian restaurant and we received super friendly service. We sat outside in the lovely garden, and the food arrived very quickly. We were so impressed that we went back twice during our stay. We'll definitely be back next time.

Visited this place for lunch. The food was okay, the service was good. The best thing about this restaurant is the ambience, both inside and outside.

It was very pleasant and delicious. I've already ordered online once or twice and wasn't disappointed. Less perfume (including on the guests) and clean tables would be an improvement.

Ordered via Lieferando. Unfortunately, the delivery took two hours. The quality of the food was "only" OK. Nothing special, and the delivery time, which was previously stated as 50 minutes, actually took 120 minutes. Overall, therefore, only a less than OK rating.

Absolutely disappointing! The burly waiter was by far the rudest service employee I've ever encountered. No "hello," no "thank you," no "goodbye." They simply treated you like air. No smile, no interest, nothing. Questions were answered rudely, almost making you feel like you were disturbing them. You go out to eat to have a good time – here, you feel completely unwelcome as a guest. This kind of behavior is simply embarrassing for the restaurant industry. It was my first and definitely my last visit. Anyone who wants a little friendliness and respect should definitely avoid this place!

Service was poor. A €10 tip, no thank you, and no goodbye, even though you said goodbye yourself, was absurd. The food wasn't great. The location was top-notch.

Very tasty Indian dishes. Large selection of vegetarian options. Large outdoor area yet very quiet. Hardly any street noise. Parking directly at the restaurant. We'd happily go there again. Highly recommended.

From entry to the food being served took 1.10 minutes. It was definitely worth it. It was absolutely delicious. Indian food has never tasted so good!

The food isn't particularly large in portions, but it's quite expensive and sometimes doesn't look very appetizing (mashed vegetables, slapped-together bread). The side dishes aren't easy to identify from the menu. The service is attentive and works well even in stressful situations. The ambiance, with a view of the Teltow Canal, is very nice. You have to like children, playground equipment, and colorful lighting to find it cool.

Delicious, nice atmosphere, charming staff

As always, absolutely delicious! Very nice atmosphere there by the canal around Grünen. The service is fast and friendly. Our food was fresh and delicious. The dishes are more authentic and spicier than perhaps elsewhere.

Delicious food and something different on the menu

Disappointed. We have eaten here several times and were very impressed by the food and service and were looking forward to the meal. We ordered a starter and two main courses. After the starter the long wait began. The dishes at the neighboring tables arrived even though the people arrived about 10 minutes after us. The other guests who arrived later also received their food. After I spoke up, the food finally arrived after another 10 minutes, with the tip to order the starter with the main course and there were a few casual remarks. A simple apology would have sufficed, but we felt a bit made fun of, to put it nicely. Somehow you could tell from the butter chicken that it had to be served in a hurry. It's a shame because it tasted bland, where have all the delicious spices gone? We can only hope that today's experience was down to today's staff, for us today's visit was a reason to avoid the restaurant in future.

We wanted a nightcap. The service was very attentive and friendly. The outdoor area was busy, considering it was Mother's Day. The mango lassi and a bread with three different dips were delicious. It's a pleasant place to linger under the shady trees. Highly recommended.

What a lovely restaurant! We passed here by chance on a hike to Potsdam and will probably dine here more often. Super nice, charming, funny people, delicious food, delicious drinks and a very nice atmosphere in the garden. We felt really comfortable here! Thanks also for the nice conversations!

Nice restaurant at the Machnower Schleuse. There is the option to sit either inside or outside. Covered shaded areas are offered. The service team is happy subtle and attentive. You may or may not like Indian food. My chicken and our other dishes were all good. I think if you like Indian cuisine you will find it here. Price/performance fits well. The ambience outside is simple

The food was ok but not great either. The room wasn't particularly comfortable. I found it a bit annoying that the staff didn't speak German well. We'll go back but if we can, we'd rather sit outside. The garden seems somewhat suitable for this.

I was amazed by the food and service at Bapu restaurant. The lamb was absolutely delicious, and our kids loved their kid meals! 🙂 The staff is very friendly and helpful, they did everything possible to make us feel comfortably and happy. There’s also a very lovely playground for children, which makes a huge difference when you are dining out as a family, especially when the weather is nice. Highly recommend!

I eat Indian quite often and found the food very tasteless. It was missing something. Won’t be ordering food from their again.

Nice ambience. Pleasant reception and service. We had ordered at 6:00 p.m., but had the feeling that it had to be done quickly. After a quick order, the drinks and warm appetizers arrived. We were still eating the starters when the main courses arrived. The table was simply too small for that. We then decided not to eat any more of the starters. The food was ok. but not according to expectations. After requesting the bill several times, we waited 20 minutes for it. But we'd like to try it again here.

If Indian food, then authentic Indian food, and only in the Bapu Restaurant.

We made a reservation for 12 people here for our child's birthday. The desired spot was reserved as agreed. The table was also set and welcome drinks were provided from the house. Service very courteous and nice. As usual, portions were very generous and the food was very tasty. Were here for the second time and were satisfied again. There are sufficient parking spaces on site. Due to its proximity to our home, we will visit the restaurant again soon and recommend it!

For us the best Indian far and wide, The journey from Berlin is also worth it. Large selection, very tasty starters and main courses. Decent sharpness. Fresh drinks. Very quick preparation even though almost all tables were occupied. Very friendly and courteous staff. The ambience is awesome anyway. Clean sanitary facilities. The bouncy castle is something special, Great fun for the little ones. Price-performance ratio is more than ok. Everything is really right here. Gladly again 👍

I often order there through Uber Eats and always really good food. And if you go there to eat in also great. High quality food and friendly waiters. Just sometimes a bit long waiting times but I don’t care that much about that

Surprisingly good. Among other things, because of the imaginatively designed starters! People seem to have learned from the mistakes of the past. Sometimes the volume in the rooms is a bit high.

I've been there several times and have nothing to complain about the food, it tastes wonderful! The service staff is also friendly and accommodating. However, I have to make a critical comment and it has more to do with exterior design: sometimes less is more! The statues of Gandhi are very attractive. But please, when are you going to remove the out of place red “Gandhi head”?

Good food with the most beautiful room interior.

I was there with my boys, food was ok but very small portion when we wanted to order more the employees were busy with their cell phones. The waitress came to take the order with a device in her left hand and her cell phone No Go in her right hand. Rice for three people was very little, we wanted to order more, the gentleman who served us stood at the bar with his back to us and was busy with his cell phone the whole time. I called him to order more rice. He brought us rice, rice was very solid and lumpy, it wasn't warm either. For the money, the food should be better and the service should be the same. Next time we'll go to our Indian restaurant.

Unfortunately, the food was catastrophic (Chicken Korma & Bata Chicken), everything else was fine, the rice smelled really disgusting for whatever reason, like a cigarette

The food always tastes great and it's worth stopping by.

A nice evening with several people, the meal took a while. But the taste is very good. A little warmer would be great. Dessert was also a long time coming.

After my wife told me about the nice passengers who work here, we decided to just go eat there. We sat in a well-heated pavilion and felt quite comfortable. The menu is extensive and the decision wasn't easy because everything sounded good. We'll definitely come back

We had reserved a table in the restaurant for the correct number of people for our birthday over two weeks ago. When we arrived there was a large wedding party and we were almost surprised. A table for 4 was converted, which was of course too small, always with the message that there would be a lot going on today and that we could finally go into the tent. If I reserve a table specifically in the guest room and the reservation is confirmed, it must be honored and, if at all, an apology would be appropriate and not "deportation to the tent". The fact that the dish we wanted wasn't available was just the icing on the cake. It was also nice that we had to tell the waiter to clear the table, which was much too small. I've been there before and know that there are other ways to do it... but if I'm overwhelmed - for example by a large group of people - I'm not allowed to accept every reservation. It's a shame. Maybe it'll be better next time.

What a delicious meal we had here! This restaurant is highly recommended! Real Indian flavors, received and served well and friendly. Atmosphere is good, as are the chairs (not unimportant if you sit for a while). Price is not too high either, just reasonable.
