Bao Bao in Hamburg

Ich habe über die App „The Fork“ für 13:30 reserviert. Auf Instagram steht, dass sie ab 12 Uhr geöffnet haben. Wir standen vor einem komplett dunklen Laden, die Tür war zwar nicht abgeschlossen, aber es kam niemand, man hat keinen gesehen & auch als wir reingerufen haben…keine Reaktion. Wir haben 15min gewartet & auch versucht dort wen telefonisch zu erreichen, leider ohne Erfolg. Sehr schade, da ich dafür 40min gefahren bin. :‘)

Die Atmosphäre im Bao Bao fand ich akzeptabel, das Ambiente war ansprechend. Auch der Service war zufriedenstellend. Das Essen hingegen war eine Enttäuschung 😟. Ich hatte den veganen Hähnchenspieß probiert, der aber geschmacklos war und mich nicht überzeugt hat. Ich habe etwa 20-30 € für mein Essen ausgegeben 💰. Es gibt definitiv bessere Alternativen 🤷‍♀️.

Tolle Möglichkeit um veggie essen zu gehen, einfach toll

Das war leider eine ziemliche Enttäuschung. Das Essen war nicht frisch, es gab viel zu wenig Gemüse und das Erdnussgericht war eine Katastrophe – mit original vietnamesischer Küche hat das nichts zu tun. Dafür war es auch einfach viel zu teuer. Wir mussten beide die ganze Nacht vom Essen aufstoßen, obwohl wir keinerlei Magenprobleme oder empfindliche Mägen haben.

Wir waren gerade im Bao Bao essen und es hat uns wirklich außergewöhnlich gut gefallen. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker, frisch und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Besonders die vegane Ente war ein echtes Erlebnis und absolut empfehlenswert. Auch die Vorspeisenplatte war richtig gut: vielfältig, frisch und geschmacklich toll abgestimmt. Man merkt sofort, dass hier nicht einfach mit Fertigprodukten gearbeitet wird, sondern wirklich Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Dazu war die Kellnerin unfassbar freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können das Bao Bao wirklich von Herzen empfehlen.

Ambiente war klasse, sehr entspannt. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen war wirklich sehr gut. Highlight für alle die Kimchi mögen ist auf jeden Fall die Kimchi-Suppe

Wir waren dort zu unserem Dritten Jahrestag und wollten schön Asiatisch essen. Da wir seid neustem Vegan sind, stellte sich das als Herausforderung raus. Doch bei Bao Bao wurde wir absolut nicht enttäuscht. Leckeres essen, tolle Atmosphäre, netter Kellner und das gesamt Paket stimmt einfach. Wir können das wirklich nur empfehlen!

Hervorragender veganer Vietnamese.

Ein nettes Lokal mit veganer vietnamesischer Küche. Beliebte und besondere Gerichte werden mit pflanzlichen Alternativen serviert. Da es sich um ein eher kleines Lokal handelt, empfehle ich eine Tischreservierung.

Einfach toll! Bin selber kein Veganer, war aber dort mit Veganerin und Vegetarierin und war restlos begeistert. Super lecker, toll angerichtet, rundum zufrieden! Danke!

Ein ganz niedliches kleines Restaurant mit wahnsinnig tollem Essen. Wir hatten sehr leckere knusprige Spieße mit Dip und dann eine Suppe. Letztere war wirklich geschmacklich der Knaller und die Portion groß. Überhaupt hat uns hier Preis-Leistung positiv überrascht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und empfehlen das Bao Bao weiter.

Wir haben hier mittlerweile 2x gegessen. Einmal bestellt und einmal selber angekohlt. Beide Male hat es einfach nicht geschmeckt. Die Nudeln waren matschig und das gesamte Essen war irgendwie nicht gewürzt. Mein Mann und ich haben beide unendlich nachwürzen müssen. Leider kann ich Bao Bao nicht empfehlen. Auf der Karte klingt alles total toll, aber alle 4 Gerichten sagen ungenießbar. Super schade!

Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war auch sehr gut, wir hatten die Nummer 26, 52b war sehr viel Knoblauch drin und das rote Curry mit Tofu. Alles super und Getränke auch gut, bisschen süß. :)

Vegan Heaven - the BEST (vegan) restaurant!!! The food is absolutely amazing! It was almost unbelievable that the food was completely vegan! We ordered some of the main dishes again because they were just WAY too delicious. We can truly recommend this restaurant to anyone (even with a dog).

Bao Bao is a real highlight – not just for vegans, but for anyone who appreciates good food. Everything on the menu is purely plant-based and prepared with great attention to detail. I was particularly impressed by the crispy skewers and the creamy peanut curry with crunchy vegetables – truly aromatic and perfectly seasoned. The non-alcoholic drinks are more than just an accompaniment: creative, refreshing, and truly well-chosen – you feel taken seriously even without alcohol. A special shout-out goes to the team: The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick – never hectic, but genuinely warm. You can tell that the people working here love their jobs. Bao Bao is a place where you feel completely welcome. I'll definitely be back!

I was here with a friend, and the food was very good. I had the Thai soup, and it was really deliciously spicy and had lots of toppings like tofu and vegetables. I thought it was great! My friend thought the vegan duck was very tasty. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was very simple, yet cozy for a relaxed evening. We would both come back to try more. I thought the restaurant was very nice, just a bit cold? The food was also amazing! I had the peanut lover with duck, the sauce was delicious and creamy, and it came with a mango shake. I didn't find that one as tasty, unfortunately.

The term "restaurant" is an exaggeration—more like a fast-food joint. The food was "okay"—but not so outstanding that it would have justified sitting on wobbly stools. The service doesn't deserve the name "service"—we actually disturbed the young man while he was on his phone. Not recommended.

Very good food, slightly more creative, different dishes than in other Vietnamese restaurants. The meat substitutes are delicious and the meat eaters were also enthusiastic about the food. The drinks are also an absolute 10/10, the cocktails are significantly better than in bars. I'm relatively sure that they have lowered the prices in the last few months, which I think is a good thing since they were already quite high before. My only criticism is the toilets - they could be a little more comfortable and warmer now in winter. The mini tables with the stools are not that comfortable either. However, the four-person tables with chairs are very comfortable. Reservations for the evening often make sense as it can be full :)

Delicious food and extremely good service! Definitely worth a visit 🤩 We tried some different finger food dishes, the udon noodle main dish and the sticky rice with vanilla ice cream - all of them very satisfying.

The restaurant is completely okay. It's great that it's vegan but it's not quite perfect yet. We had to wait over an hour for our main courses, even though people came after us and they had already finished dessert by the time we got our food. Unfortunately, that doesn't fit together. Have we been forgotten? Oh well. Food is ok, it's tasty but it could be even tastier and better. Service is nice and courteous. Ambiance is small, but nice and fine. Prices completely appropriate!

We arrived and our table was available for 1 hour and 25 minutes of use. There wasn't even time to eat, and when I mentioned this to the waiter he shrugged and told me I could leave.

I was able to make my reservation 45 minutes late. The food was served very quickly and in sufficient quantity. The kung fu panda is very tasty. There is an outside area. Full recommendation!

Phenomenally delicious food. We tried our way through the tapas section and were full and happy! Be sure to order the edamame, the tastiest we've had so far! Also very important: leave room for dessert. What Bao Bao conjures up on the table as a baked banana with soy vanilla ice cream is out of this world! But we completely cleaned up everything else and received excellent service. This shop belongs at the top of the bucket list of vegan restaurants in Hamburg!

The waiters are just so friendly and accommodating, wow! The main aspect, the food, is also just amazing. Especially since the drinks were really tasty. For dinner I had the vegan prawn skewers and the red curry, both of which were a 10/10. I love vegan shrimp 😍 I give a clear recommendation!

I'm actually a committed meat eater. However, since my godson is vegetarian/vegan, I invited him to eat here before visiting 'Alma Hoppe'. And what can I say: It's time to rethink. The red curry with vegan chicken was so delicious that I ate it really slowly for my standards and celebrated every mouthful. All attention! I'll definitely come back here and try out the menu!!!

A small vegetarian/vegan restaurant that we discovered by chance. The service was quick, professional and friendly. We enjoyed the food and the traffic-calmed location means you can also eat outside. The interior doesn't seem so friendly, bright and inviting due to the dimmed light in combination with the dark furniture, unless you sit right at the entrance by the large window. The biggest negative point for me personally was that you can't pay with Visa/MasterCard. We would love to come back to try the other dishes.

Never have I ever eaten such bland food. The interior is very unwelcoming and seating is very uncomfortable. Price ratio value is very poor in my opinion.

I've been here several times and the food is always really delicious. All vegan, which I think is fantastic! At Baobao I also ate vegan duck for the first time in Hamburg - very tasty! However, I have to deduct one star, on the one hand because I find the prices simply unbelievably high (€18 for red curry with vegan duck) and the atmosphere is somehow not that nice.

The food was simply too expensive for a bit of carrots, broccoli, onions, the non-carbonated drinks and the beer were also asked for, but that was a shame and that's why there was nothing going on on New Year's Eve Didn't even get one handed out! Conclusion NEVER AGAIN!

Leider kamen wir gar nicht in den Genuss das Essen zu probieren. Ich hatte uns für heute um 12:00 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert, die auf der Seite angekündigte Bestätigung kam nicht. Wir standen dann kurz nach 12:00 Uhr vor der leider verschlossenen Tür. Wir sahen hinten (Küche?) Menschen. Ich rief an, keiner nahm ab. Stattdessen kam jemand nach vorne, wo wir vor der Tür standen und klebte einen Zettel an, der einen technischen Defekt vermeldete. Ich hatte erwartet, dass die Tür geöffnet würde und uns das persönlich mitgeteilt würde. So empfand ich es als ausgesprochen unfreundlich! Später, nachdem wir woanders gegessen hatten, sahen wir, dass mittlerweile Gäste im Lokal waren. Uns zieht es dort nicht mehr hin. Schade, wir hatten uns darauf gefreut. Einen Punkt gebe ich, da es veganes Essen anbietet.

Booking a table and then having the door closed can happen. Instead of a small, personal piece of information - despite eye contact - a piece of paper was stuck to the glass pane 30-50cm away from us. A few words could have explained the situation. Wan tan Suppe war mega wenn auch zu salzig, die Variationen aus Sommerrollen war eine Enttäuschung. 3 von 5 kann man nicht anders als fade beschreiben. Die Eingangstür ging nicht immer richtig zu und es zog extrem kalt rein bis ich aufstand sie zu zu machen. Und was ich wirklich nicht verstehen: WARUM 2023 immer noch keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist?! Ich musste im Regen Bargeld holen gehen. Absolut unverständlich, dass einem die 1% Ersparnis wichtiger ist, als Gästen ein angenehmes Erlebnis zu bieten.

Bestes asiatisches Veganes Essen in Hamburg! Liebe die "Ente" mit Erdnusssauce. Die mitarbeitenden sind auch super lieb und die Cocktails lecker! Leider geht fast nie kartenzahlung… also eigentlich noch nie, als wir da waren.

Super super leckeres veganes Essen zu einem fairen Preis! Die Speisekarte ist sehr vielfältig und ansprechend, sowie transparent gestaltet. Wir können unseren nächsten Besuch kaum erwarten!!!

Ein großartiges Restaurant! Hier gibt es grandioses Essen zu sehr fairen Preisen. Ich habe das letzte mal spaßeshalber „Allesfresser“ mit in das Restaurant genommen, um ihnen zu zeigen, wie gut vegane Gerichte schmecken können und sie waren komplett begeistert. Hier kommen also nicht nur Veganer auf ihren Geschmack. Da das Restaurant nicht das größte ist, würde ich zur Sicherheit im Vorfeld reservieren. Das Menü für zwei Personen kann ich auch nur empfehlen!

Man kann leider nicht mit Karte bezahlen, aber das Essen war sehr lecker.

Wir sind spontan zu 10. reingekommen und sie haben für uns die Tische draußen arrangiert, das hat uns sehr gefreut! Auch waren sie sehr freundlich. Es hat nur ziemlich lange gedauert bis wir bedient wurden, aber das ist zu verzeihen, da das Essen super lecker war, es hat allen geschmeckt „obwohl“ wir keine Veganer sind.

Freundliche Bedienung, bio-vegane Speisen die schmecken und guttun, was will man mehr. Klare Empfehlung!

Das Essen war soweit lecker, wobei es an Würze gefehlt hat. Die Atmosphäre ist leider nicht besonders schön und man sitzt eher unbequem. Draußen im Sommer ist es vermutlich besser :)

Wir waren ein ersten mal hier und sehr positiv überrascht. Alles war sehr lecker, auch für nicht-Veganer. Wir haben verschiedene Vorspeisen und Gerichte genommen um alles mögliche mal zu probieren. Besonders lecker waren die Veggie-Garnelen an Spieß und die Gerichte mit Veggie-Ente. Zum Schluss hab es noch Eis mit gebackener Banane, sehr zu empfehlen und dann waren wir auch wirklich satt. Kartenzahlung ist gerade nicht möglich, aber 100m weiter gibt es schon einen Geldautomaten, war also nicht schlimm. Ohne Reservierung hatten wir heute keinen Tisch bekommen, dies lässt sich aber bequem über die Homepage erledigen.
