Banh Mi & Bubbles in Stuttgart

Lecker, cooler Service, aber etwas laut. Werde wiederkommen und was veganes probieren.

This was the third and final attempt at Banh Mi and Bubbles. The first time I booked, we showed up and there was a sign on the door, announcing the restaurant was closed that day. The second time, the restaurant cancelled my booking for 20+ people on the day of the actual booking - a Christmas Party - and we had to scramble to find a new place. The final attempt, last night, the restaurant was actually open! Everyone had to order separately through an app. They then brought our drinks and one friend's food and we didn't see staff again until I had to flag someone down over half an hour later. They then told us the system didn't register the food orders for the others, just the drinks. Surely, seeing the price we paid in the system and that only one person in the group was eating would make you check in? They eventually brought the rest of the food 45min after our friend was served and gave us a salad to share as ways of apology??? Never again. The food might be good and the location may look nice, but the service is an absolute mess and clearly hasn't improved beyond managing to be open.

Cool restaurant, you have to order the food online which is easy. You can reorder without any problems. Large selection of Asian dishes. My friends and I had ramen, mozzarella sticks, sweet potato fries and bao buns. Everything was very tasty.

The food is good, the prices are a bit higher. The service was very friendly. The restaurant is modern.

Good food at a fair price. The individual “main courses” are relatively filling and an appetizer for two doesn’t hurt. The self-service takes some getting used to. The selection of cocktails is outstanding for a restaurant!

Banh Mi is okay, but doesn't taste like it usually does. Lemonade has too weak a taste. The bartender isn't particularly friendly, but the blonde waitress was very friendly.

Authentically delicious and really nicer store

Heart recommendation: The bottomless special is a must have - fresh smashed cucumber salad, ultra delicious bao burgers with crunchy tofu (optionally with chicken) and a sushi taco, with as many bubbles as you can drink? It doesn't get much better than this! Incredibly attentive service, definitely go!

A really very interesting concept. Stand-up comedy in Stuttgart. We were very enthusiastic about the artists and those who want to become artists. Reserve online and take a seat. We had a great evening and will definitely come back soon. Ordering and paying for food and drinks online also went smoothly.

The entire crew is always extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is always very good! The vegan options are also highly recommended. The ordering system is very practical and should be introduced by more restaurateurs.

This restaurant offers a lot of different vegan dishes, but also something for the many meat lovers among us. The service is very friendly and accommodating! The food is simply outstanding! (I had the Asian Style Burger with Fries) But my personal favorite was the Vegan Oyster! Not just something to enjoy, but also something to experience! Always happy :D

Great recommendation!! We shared two different Bahn Mis and both were delicious! The service is also super accommodating and the ambience definitely invites you to stay longer. To drink we tried a Papaya Spritz, which was also very tasty. In addition, the food came really quickly and everything looked and tasted really freshly prepared! We'll definitely be back!

I expected more from the reviews I had already read, I don't know if it was an unlucky day but the waiter was very arrogant, he didn't bring us tickets (which they gave to everyone on our side for free), regarding the food there isn't much What to say, it hasn't changed my life, it seemed pretty simple to me. The food took almost 50 minutes to arrive, and the restaurant was not that busy, so if you want a nice place to eat and talk this is your place, because it took too long to bring the order, we didn't try the cocktails but the people around me tried them. they asked. I think that in relation to the price I would expect a little more.

Great food, fun restaurant, a bit slow service but worth it

This restaurant if you can even call it one is the perfect example of when expectations don't live up to reality. We pulled up to the restaurant and had to wait more than 5 minutes at the front desk with waiters just flying by and not paying any attention to us. Off to a good start ! Inside the restaurant, the design is okay but jeez the music was really obnoxious. It was disco music but really badly mixed. The bass was just firing so hard, causing almost a headache. We ordered with the qr code and then waited over 30 minutes to get the food. While we were waiting we decided to go to the restrooms. They are visually nice but not functional and not the cleanest. The whole thing was dark. Did I miss a light switch ?! At least the toilet part had additional lighting to even be able to see. Now to the food. The food tasted like it was made a few days ago and not made fresh. (Even though we waited so long !) The banh mi : supposed to be made with a baguette with a crispy crust - actually the bread was soggy and like the small soggy sandwiches they serve for free in planes - at least the content was ok. The bowl bathing beef : noodles were soggy and crumbled, clearly not fresh - soggy lettuce - extremely salty and the amount of vinaigre in there, oof ! At least the people working there were nice. Overall a really poor experience and do not recommend.

If Germany (it was just the European Championship) doesn't win gold, then the shop here will 🥰🌟 The bread was crunchy, the filling was juicy, and the gold dust? Feel like a millionaire without ruining your bank balance? Come here. Hats off to the team! If you want a bit of glamor and a full stomach, then Rich Kidz is for you.

I really enjoy this place, the staff is super helpful and friendly. The food is delicious, of course I always go for the meat options. They have a lot of vegan options, but I have only had a few things and those were also very well prepared. The drinks are always good and the atmosphere is usually very lively.

Very cool, every Sunday and Monday there is Stand Up Comedy for Free. Great to do something on Sunday evening.

The food is amazing, the drinks are great and everything is worth its price! Some of the staff only speak English, but they'll be happy to get someone talking German, too. Also you should have your smartphone ready - I appreciate the specials and the up to date online menu where you order via smartphone, so you will always see what's available and what might not be. The vegan chicken bahn mi was awesome, I highly recommend it (if you like cilantro). Another plus point is that they serve the vegan crispy chicken in a separate bowl if you order the ramen, so it doesn't get soggy over time. The music is a tad too loud for my personal liking, but everything else was great! It feels like they really put a lot of thought into making this space what it is - awesome!

Visually very cool, food wise disappointing. We were here spontaneously on Saturday evening. It was quite empty and we quickly got a table for two. The service was nice, even if we personally don't really like having the individual dishes presented in a mini lecture (but don't see that as a negative point, there are certainly guests who appreciate that as very attentive). Ordering is done via QR code. The food was very nicely prepared, but to be honest: it just didn't taste like anything. You can't even say it tasted bad because it was just bland. The chicken strips were fried until crispy, but you didn't taste anything. The soup, the noodles, the vegetables (which were heated rather than blanched)... Not a hint of salt or spices or any other flavor. The only thing that really had any taste was the sauce on the rice paper that was served as a welcome snack. Given this, we didn't think the prices were appropriate either. The drinks were OK. We didn't try any cocktails, so we can't say anything about that. This location may be known more for the trendy atmosphere and events (there is probably stand-up comedy from time to time) than for the food. Conclusion: stomach full, something pleasing to the eye, but unfortunately no pleasure for the tongue.

The store tries desperately to be hip and trendy, but it's very inauthentic. The balancing act between ostentatiously upscale and iconic is rather semi-successful. The furnishings are without much love, bare walls and cafeteria chairs cannot be made up for by jungle graffiti (?) and candles. The food sounds upscale on the menu and is also prepared in a fancy way. But here too, the gold dust cannot compensate for anything. The bowl was a tasteful mess of ingredients that didn't harmonize. And once you got through the completely over-salted tofu and way too large pickled ginger, you were left with bland noodles with a sauce that wasn't properly emulsified. The Banh Mi was also announced as fancy with truffle mayo and gold dust and tasted like... coriander.

This evening at 8:31 p.m. we arrived. So many people and we were waiting for the waiter. I saw the basement needs a lot of work. I understand all of this but only ordered dinner late. Unfortunately the wait was a bit long. We were very hungry. Ordered chicken vegan, sweet potato, burger, sandwich (hot name forgot at the moment :/). Chicken was cold and so was my burger :/. Sandwich bread was dry. Sweet potatoes are really tasty and also warm :) ... <— Luckily they were at least good 🤞🏻 Numbers Wait a minute, I also said: There are only 2 people working in the kitchen 💁‍♂️. Nevertheless the waiter was very nice. If you want to make people eat well you need more people pleaseeeeeee. Of course we would also like to sit and drink, but that's not possible :/ everything to eat is simply ruined. No desire and also angry, a lot of stress. Probably, drinking is better. However, I no longer visit...

Came in spontaneously today. They also had a spot available for us. We were given a great explanation of the ordering system and also given a recommendation. The food was good, but the finishing touches were missing. If you want to come just for the food, you might be disappointed. If you're looking for a stylish evening with friends, something to drink and a good meal at the same time... If you want to eat very well, this is the right place for you. Vegan/vegetarian selection is great!! You can also leave out the coriander if you wish ;)

Scan, order and pay using your mobile phone. Very well and simply implemented. Giving a tip in advance seems very awkward to me, but I'm actually rewarding my satisfaction "after" the meal. If you don't want to use electronic means of payment these days you should just go somewhere else, bad reviews for this are out of place. Otherwise it was delicious and we'll definitely come back.

I’ve been in Stuttgart a bit and walked by here many times but never stopped in. I did tonight with friends. Lovely place! The food was tasty. The cocktails were top notch. I really liked the ordering system! We had great service. Olga and the brunette waitress were very attentive and service was fantastic. I’ll definitely start making this place a regular. Thanks for a fun evening!

Everything I ate (and I go by often) was delicious! Sometimes too spicy for me because I'm generally sensitive to spicy, I still ate it because it was just so delicious)) my favorites are: vegan bowl and ramen, sweet/normal potato fries, salmon ceviche. From drinks - Vietnamese iced coffee and gua yuzu lemonade ❤️

Very complicated ordering system. There is a card on the table to pre-select your order, which you then place using your mobile phone. When ordering electronically, not all dishes are suddenly available. Without a credit card or Google Pay you are lost. Cash payment not possible at all. I'm supposed to round up my tip when I order without knowing what the service is like. The food was okay, nothing special. A note when reserving a table by phone that there was a comedy event taking place that evening would have been nice. Then we would have chosen another evening.

Popped in without reservation and was able to be seated at bar. The rice chips were interesting and very tasty with the supplied sauce. Had the tofu Bahn mi. It was bigger than I expected and the bread was pretty tasty, not perfect but very good. As noted on other reviews, a little light on the tofu but the veggies and sauce were fresh tasty and unique. Would come back.

The food is delicious, there are lots of unusual cocktails and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The prices are okay too. It's not necessarily cheap, but I found it reasonable. You order online, but you can also browse through the good old menu and see some pictures of the dishes here. The ordering system works perfectly and has the advantage that you can also pay there or call service, for example. We felt very comfortable, even with two small children, which doesn't always go down well in restaurants. It was perfect here! The next time we are in Stuttgart we will definitely come back.

The ordering system didn't work. Personally, this kind of thing annoys me because I had to ask the waitress about it three times. I was almost ready to leave the store. The order was then taken in the classic way. I had a bowl and a tiny Coke. Before the meal there were free crackers with sweet and spicy sauce. Very nice walks. The Bowl Kikeriki looked great, but there were way too many noodles in it. I would have liked more of the vegetables and chicken substitute for the price. The taste was delicious, but not so much that I had a WOW effect. The service was friendly, competent and nice. But everything is far too hectic and impersonal. The atmosphere seemed too cold and uncomfortable to me. They tried desperately to loosen things up with a few pop elements, but the industrial look remains the industrial look. There is a karaoke stage. Conclusion: there was something to eat and we were full, but nothing more.

Shortly after arriving, we were greeted by the very friendly English-speaking service lady with a free starter on the table. Ordering is done using a QR code and the drinks and food arrived very quickly. There's basically nothing wrong with the quality of the food, but we weren't blown away by the taste. From our position, you could say that some ingredients could have a better ratio between more and less to make it better. What unfortunately didn't appeal to us - but that's just their concept and maybe we're no longer the coolest among all the youngsters - was the location itself with the very dark staircase to the toilet and the difficult orientation. Not quite our comfort level. Reminds me of a nightclub. However, we wouldn't advise against it because everyone should try it out for themselves.

New 2024 - 4 stars: No more self-service, very friendly service who explained the concept of ordering via cell phone to us. You can even use Apple pay and co. pay. The Banh Mi and the aperitif were very tasty. The prices are higher, but there are also drinks and food that you can't find anywhere else in Stuttgart. You can also find great vegan dishes here. 2021 - 3 stars: I'm undecided. An attempt was made to implement the concept of a New York bar with self-service and a “cool” atmosphere, a bit too intentional in my opinion. I would come back to have a relaxed drink in a group with the option of something to eat. I also liked the music. Not really a meal for two, although the Banh Mi were really tasty! I would give 5* just for the sandwiches. Even if they are a bit expensive for not being served (mine cost 10.50).

Arrived at the store and wanted to order something to take away, all the tables were completely full. We had to hear that there was a lack of staff and that's why we couldn't get anything? Where's the logic in that? Were there enough cooks for the guests inside? If someone could explain this to me I would be grateful. However, there is nothing to complain about about the dishes we have tried so far. upd: really. If you had to wait a little longer for your order, it would certainly be understandable for many people. Instead, turning customers away without informing them about longer waiting times is simply not the best tactic. You shouldn't be bitter about any criticism ;)

Food, both the meal and vegetarian option were cold, paying solutions are not suitable for EC cards. The location was gorgeous.

Ich bedauere die Bewertung. Hatte ein Tisch für ein Geburtstagsdate reserviert, obwohl dann geschlossene Gesellschaft herrschte. Der Service bedauerte, dass die Reservierung durchging, half mir allerdings auch nicht wirklich weiter und wir fanden woanders ein Platz. Konnte keiner was für, und mit so einem Outcome kann ich den Laden wirklich nicht weiterempfehlen. PS: Das Date lief gut, von Stolpersteinen darf man sich nicht aufhalten lassen. ;)

Nice in and of itself with super good drinks and nice decoration. I'll definitely come back for that. However, the food wasn't really good. The ramen only tasted like ginger, which wasn't that great and didn't sit well with me either. I also find it a bit bold that you HAVE to tip.

The Banh Mi was delicious, but unfortunately the drinks there are really not that good, sorry 🙈. I've never had such an inedible Gin Basil Smash. There is a 👍🏼 for the food and a 👎🏼 for the drinks.

Found restaurant in internet and was excited. Reserved table and arrived, friendly waiter came and explained order process over QR code, worked fine but all food came at once, barely fit on narrow table. A good restaurant (I’ve eaten at a lot in Chicago) serves appetizer first, then main course, that’s standard. Fries with vegan meat as appetite was cold (nothing worse than cold soggy fries) on arrival coupled with it being served with our main course was disappointing. Keriki chicken bowl was good but as well lukewarm. Should have sent back to kitchen. Payment at bar due to shortage of wait staff assuming which I can understand. We did receive a complimentary juice/vodka shot for International Women’s Day. 🙂 Potential, but overall disappointing….

The food was very, very tasty. I would have liked more bread for the burger bread, but that's my personal opinion. A clear recommendation for aloe vera tea! The ambience is great and so is what is on offer. The staff are very friendly, I think the welcome with a welcome snack is a great idea. Will definitely come to a comedy show again.

Wir hatten beide eine Bowl bestellt. Die bestand mehr aus Nudeln, als aus den sonstigen Bestandteilen einer Bowl mit verschiedenen Gemüsen, Hülsenfrüchten und Salaten. Das fanden wir etwas enttäuschend, weil wir uns etwas anderes vorgestellt hatten. Die Himbeerlimonade schmeckte leider sehr künstlich und süß. Die Limonade mit Basilikum war hingegen sehr lecker auch das Kimchi war ein neues Geschmackserlebnis. Das Ambiente fanden wir sehr schön und der Ober sehr hilfsbereit und nett bei der Aufnahme der digitalen Bestellung, die meinen Begleiter leider auch etwas überfordert hat. Aber das ist wohl eher ein Generationsproblem.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Bubbles, anlässlich des 30. Geburtstags unseres Sohnes. Es hat uns allen sehr gefallen. Ein besonderes Ambiente, cool und lässig. Hatte nach einem vegetarischen Restaurant gesucht und wir waren begeistert von der Auswahl der Speisen. Asia Food richtig lecker. Insgesamt war der Geräuschpegel etwas zu hoch, aber es ist ja auch kein reines Speiserestaurant. Wir sind uns einig, kommen wieder, vor allem gefällt uns auch die soziale Idee, die dahintersteckt.

Bis auf die Bowl, welche aus 500g Reisnudeln bestand unter den wenigen Toppings), waren alle Speisen deutlich weniger umfangreich als in der Karte abgebildet. Da der Geschmack nicht besonders herausragend war fanden wir hierfür die Preise recht hoch. Das bereits vor irgendeiner Art von Service ein Trinkgeld aufgeschlagen wurde hat uns zudem nicht gefallen. Auf ein Gericht (frittiertes Tofu ohne Beilage) haben wir über 30 minuten gewartet, hier haben wir uns über das gegebene Trinkgeld ein bisschen geärgert.

First of all, I think the atmosphere is really nice. The style is cool. The boss came to the table and told us what specials there were. The start was successful. As the process progressed, however, I found the service staff not really friendly, but rather a bit bored. The food was above average. Nothing special. So not particularly good and not particularly bad. I found kimchi quite bland and so did my wife's ramen. My food was forgotten, but it was supposed to be brought next. After 20 minutes I went to the waitress and asked how my food was going. My feeling from her was quite bored and unfriendly again. When she came back she said my food would be ready in 5-10 minutes. So 30 minutes after everyone else had their food. My sandwich was probably the least elaborate mind you. I then canceled my order and the amount was paid back to me in cash. No real apology, no niceness. At some point she came and offered us a schnapps on the house. Since we were just about to leave anyway, we politely declined. What struck me the most is that I HAVE to tip at least 7% (minimum selection in the ordering process). For an unfriendly and bored service person including forgotten food, almost 15€ for 4 people is really a disgrace. So I don't recommend it and you don't have to have eaten there.

Auch am Valentinstag war es schön und hat gut geschmeckt. Gerne wieder.

Saturday evening without a reservation and still received a friendly welcome and a seat. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is inviting. Homemade lemonades. Basically, I can only recommend that if you want to go out to eat in Stuttgart (or other big cities) on a Saturday evening, it makes sense to reserve a table. This is more relaxing for yourself and the restaurant. I will definitely go there again.

Etwas enttäuschend, die Bestellweise, die Tischanordnung, alles wirkte improvisiert. Restaurant öffnet erst um 19:00 Uhr…alles so, dass man nicht wieder kommen will..

Sehr nettes Restaurant, gutes Essen, Service okay. Essen und Getränke sind mit dem Handy zu bestellen, die Website dafür ist ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig.

We arrived to the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday on 12//30/23 and BahnMi & Bubbles was closed!! We had received a confirmation text the day prior to the reservation date and had NO indication that the restaurant would be closed. It was an enormous disappointment since I specifically chose this restaurant for my daughter's birthday. We ended up having to walk around for over an hour trying to find a restaurant that could accommodate our family of 6 without a reservation. It was a terrible way to celebrate her birthday.

Service war leider sehr schlecht. Die App für die Bestellung war nicht gut. Man konnte nicht zurück, man hat Sachen nicht auf Anhieb gefunden wie Wasser, war kompliziert, und die Gerichte waren nicht in der gleichen Reihenfolge wie auf der Karte. Habe leider ausversehen falsch bestellt.

Frische Bowls mit sehr leckeren Saucen - das vegane Hühnchen in der Bowl und auch die vegetarischen Gyoza waren wirklich genial!

This is not the place if you are looking for authentic Asian food. Everything is unnecessarily spicy without giving option. No high chair. Not recommended if you are with toddlers especially.

Bowls sind groß und lecker. Ramen eher lauwarm und haben mit klassischen ramen nichts zu tun aber kann man essen. Man muss selbst über einen qr code bestellen und soll auch direkt mit Trinkgeld online zahlen. Würde ich nicht empfehlen da Service echt unterirdisch. Braucht ewig,das essen am Tisch kommt auch nicht gleichzeitig für alle und wir mussten nach 20 minuten nochmal nach unseren Getränken fragen woraufhin es hieß wir hätten etwas falsch gemacht. Also haben wir der Dame in ihrem bestelltool gezeigt wo die Getränke stehen und dass sie ja sieht dass die noch fehlen. Sie entschuldigt sich und sagt sie bringt sie gleich. Ende vom Lied war wir sind selber an die Bar und haben die Getränke dort geholt damit wir nach 1.5 Std. Endlich was zu trinken haben,an der Bar wusste nämlich niemand für wen diese Getränke sein sollen. Also Service absolutes Chaos auch bei der Zuteilung von reservierten Tischen. Klamotten könnt ihr nach dem Besuch hier auch direkt waschen stinkt alles nach frittenfett.
