Unfortunately, I can't understand the many good reviews. And also not why there is always so much going on. Is it really just the portion sizes? It must be like that! There is a salad buffet - but almost everything has no taste of its own. For example: you certainly wouldn't recognize the olives in a blind tasting; behaves similarly with the rest of the things. All cheap goods with no taste! The situation is similar with the dishes on the menu. Vegetables (frozen goods) tasteless. The ready-made hollandaise on top doesn't save it. Omlette with side dishes also not edible. Meat quality not good, cheap product. Etc. - I've tried a lot. You shouldn't have allergies! CAUTION! There is an allergen card, but it has no value. No labeling of lactose in cream, butter etc. in various dishes. When asked about this, you only get unfriendly feedback about what the problem is. So definitely don't rely on the fact that my choice of food would have caused me major problems because of the cream in the sauce. Was happy to question it again in advance. Service: 50% / 50% - you can be lucky and it will work. But unfortunately often not. Then you are treated like a troublemaker. And you're happy when you can get away quickly. Personally, I wouldn't be there regularly. But my father (over 80) loves “his” half & half. Unless the mince is still raw, then it is fried and comes back with the cold rice and fries and a piece of leather meat, which is no longer edible. There is no excuse or replacement. I probably have a few weeks off now before he wants to go there again - so thanks for his bad food ;-)

I was thrilled on Saturday. I ate tagliatelle with salmon there and it was very tasty. My daughter loved the turkey schnitzel and it came with a delicious and fresh salad. Everything perfect. Thumbs up!

An impressive amount of seating on two floors, and in summer you can also sit outside. Almost all dishes come with a salad, which you can put together yourself at the salad buffet. Many types of salad, several dressings and over ten different types of vinegar and oil make the starter almost a reason for me to visit. In addition to dishes from Croatia, the menu also lists “international dishes”, and the portions are large enough - even for good eaters. The staff is always very attentive and friendly, even on public holidays they have a joke on their lips, there is nothing to complain about here. All dishes can also be pre-ordered for pickup.

We took 2 plates home and we were more than full (4 adults and 2 children). Everything tasted very tasty.

We got a table for two hours without a reservation. The food and drinks were served quickly by the very friendly waitresses. The food was plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced.

Ich war mit einer Gruppe 20! Leute, hier zu einem Mitagessen vor einer längeren Stadtrundfahrt mein Seniorenteller war für einen Senior sehr üppig, geschmacklich gut Sehr fleißiger und freundlicher Service Ich hatte ein spezielles Problem Hatte im Bus mein Schlüsselbund verloren. Ein Kellner hat mir in dieser Sache außergewöhnlich toll geholfen Abends, Bus war weg und Schlüssel auch .Ohne die Hilfe des super hilfsbereiten Kellners (Herr Nikolai ?) Wäre ich total aufgeschmissen gewesen So aber hat alles ein gutes Ende gefunden .

We haven't been there for a long time, but recently we felt like going again, and what can I say, everything was tip top as always, the food was great, the service was great, the price was even a bit too cheap in my opinion, for the service and the food. I can only recommend it to everyone.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Balkanhof in Duisburg and I loved it! I would particularly like to highlight the excellent service, especially from the young waiter who may be the owner's son-in-law. His kindness and attentiveness made our visit a special experience. The Balkan cuisine in the Balkanhof is simply outstanding. The dishes are authentic, rich and incredibly tasty. The cevapcici and the steaks in particular are an absolute must. The quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere make the Balkanhof my favorite restaurant in Duisburg. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience excellent Balkan cuisine and first class service.

We were there after my daughter's civil wedding or dinner. I really liked the atmosphere and the furnishings! The service was excellent, we were just sitting down so we could order drinks and were given the menu. After that everything happened very quickly, we ordered and then the bread and butter arrived. There was a rich salad buffet that we could help ourselves to. The food arrived 5-10 minutes after the salad. ....it was so plentiful and very, very tasty, almost everyone didn't make it... It wasn't a problem to have the food packed! I give it a thumbs up 👍 and a clear recommendation...you definitely have to go there.... 👍👍

We were really looking forward to the food! I had a Cordon Bleu, unfortunately it was out of the deep fryer!!! Which, as a trained chef, I find very, very sad!!! My wife had a Prague schnitzel. Unbreaded, baked with a slice of ham and cheese substitute! It was as thick as a 5 euro note! The butter rice never saw butter and was hard. We were not satisfied!!!! The trip to Duisburg wasn't worth it.

Service an absolute disaster! 20 minutes to take a drink order, forgetful or ignored you don't know. Food was okay, hunter's sauce wasn't tasty. Fried potatoes were good. The older gentleman seems very strange and unfriendly and also very hectic. We won't be coming back again.

Disappointed for the third time today, chicken fricassee with 5 tiny pieces of chicken and canned mushrooms, that's not possible, that was it for me, there are enough good restaurants where you can get delicious food

The “classic” Balkan restaurant, but also Zurich Geschnetzeltes is available here. Everything was very tasty and a fresh salad from the buffet was included! Service and friendliness very good! Prices reasonable!

Today we were at the Balkan Hof again after 25 years (due to a work-related move to Hesse). Very friendly staff welcomed us, and even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were assigned a table with a smile in the fairly full restaurant. As back then, the food was very good, it came very quickly and the dishes were beautifully prepared. If we are in the region again soon, we will probably come back.

The first time we were there, everything was okay. When we were there for our birthday on July 6th, 2024, it wasn't so comfortable anymore, we had to wait forever when we wanted to order something, the table wasn't cleared after the meal, and we had to let us know that we still wanted dessert. Service wasn't good that day.

So we are a large group of 15+. Firstly, you expect a nice waiter. So what do we get a very arrogant and rude waiter please. If you don't feel like working then stop paying for a very high price and get a bad experience from a rude and arrogant waiter. Thank you for nothing, I would have preferred to ask for a discount. If I could give a rating of -5 for staff, even if you want to have a high-quality restaurant, the staff has to change.

We were there again after a long time and it was quite good. Service a smooth 1+.5 stars 🌟 Food was shared, my funny Bosniak was excellent. The pepper skewer, on the other hand, wasn't that good, there was also no pepper sauce mentioned. We were expecting a pepper skewer. Drinks were good too. What also bothered me were the guests behind us who came with a dog that smelled a bit like rainy weather. For me it doesn't belong in a restaurant.

We had a sharp piece of plastic in an ice cream cup. There was an apology, but in my opinion a schnapps on the house would have been the least. The waiters are obviously stressed (no problem, I can understand that on a Saturday with a full house), but that's no reason to react snippy and annoyed to questions when ordering - especially at a family meal with several elderly people. The food was (with a lot of goodwill) quite passable. Lots of bones in the fish, the meat was partly gristly, but the portions were generous, the taste was completely fine and the price-performance ratio was also right. All in all, a sobering experience. Best regards

The menu is pretty meat-heavy. However, there is also something for vegetarians and vegans. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The staff is very friendly and courteous and always gives the impression that they have everything under control. We'd love to come back. Absolute recommendation!

I have known about this restaurant since I was a child; We have had many family celebrations decorated here, birthdays and anniversaries. My parents regularly came and went here with the family. I too now carry on this tradition and often enjoy this great restaurant with my wife with polite and courteous service and excellent food.

Visited this restaurant again, this time as part of a mourning ceremony. It was eaten a la cart and as always it was delicious. No matter what you enjoy, the dishes are of good quality, whether schnitzel, steak or pork fillet. In this restaurant you will receive good, quick and attentive service. The prices of the dishes are by no means overpriced. The Huckingen balcony courtyard is highly recommended.

We visited the Haleh restaurant at 11:30 a.m. Before that we called and asked for a place on the terrace? We got a Balkan platter for two when I asked. Why did we get a Balkan plate now? I heard that the Cevapcici are on it! We took a few chips and paid. For us, the restaurant is not an option. Dear compatriots, at McDonald's you take a lot more time and are not nearly as arrogant. There are still 2.3 people on this earth who make good sales. It's not a reason for the people (compatriots) or others, but above all your own:-( The food can definitely be eaten well. Unfortunately for us, only take-away food would be an option from my side. Am 06.Mai 2024 wollten wir mit 5 Personen ein Geburtstagsessen mit 5 Freunden einnehmen.Der Kellner war sichtlich gestresst , Gedanken abwesend und unfreundlich. Das Essen war von unserer Seite korrekt bestellt aber der Kellner weiterhin gestresst, unfreundlich abweisend und brachte für das „Geburtstagskind „ 2. ein nicht bestelltes Essen. Beim bezahlen habt ich dem Kellner gesagt dass seine Bedienung eine Katastrophe war. Er versuchte nur durch lautes wirres, freches Antworten abzulenken. Wir waren im Balkanhof schon seit Jahren essen aber jetzt ist das Maß voll. Das war das letzte mal das ich dort eine gemütliche Zeit mit Anstand und gepflegtes Essen verbringe.

If you like huge portions, this is the place for you. Plates completely overloaded but many guests seem to like that. Restaurant was very well attended. We went to the restaurant with friends but won't be visiting again. Very stressed waiter who is just annoying. Everything just at a fast pace.

Anyone who likes something hearty will definitely feel good. The ambience may be a bit dated, but the friendly service and delicious food make up for it. The portions are almost too generous and the prices are good. The lamb fillet was grilled very well and the homemade herb butter went perfectly with it. But 3 instead of 4 fillets would have done it too, then you can also create a dessert. I will gladly come again!

Short-term reservations were possible, reasonable prices, fast service. The cevapcici were good, but the skewered meat was stringy and tough and I found the pljeskavica very bland. Personally, I would pay more for higher quality meat.
