Balkan-Grill Kosovo — Albanische Küche in Jena

I had to try a new restaurant on the market straight away. And no, I don't have to repeat that. The Balkan Grill Kosovo is part of the "Italian restaurant" La Venezia "da Pepe". We were expecting authentic, delicious Balkan cuisine. We had something like a Köfte/Cevapcici/Pleskavica/Qebapa plate and a grill plate with everything on it. We didn't like the kofta, it was kind of musty, oily and not well seasoned, and the meat wasn't well done either. The side dishes consisted of ready-made fries in a wave design, ajvar from a jar, ready-made coleslaw with a slice of tomato and limp bread. All in all, the Balkan region has delicious, fast, fresh, down-to-earth cuisine. This isn't available on the market in Jena.

The pite and the desserts were incredibly tasty, the mixed grill platter was okay... unfortunately everything was a bit very fast food style and well... a bit bland. The people in service were very nice and accommodating. Don't expect restaurant quality but for a snack or if you have a sweet tooth it's perfect!

I've been very interested in trying this restaurant for weeks. It was worth it! Very tasty food for cheap prices. Service was 10/10❤️They were all so nice there. I can only recommend it:)

Finally a touch of Albanian cuisine

After our Balkan vacation last summer, we grew very fond of the cuisine, so we were very happy about opening this restaurant. The Böreks with cheese were really delicious and the owners were very friendly. We will definitely stop by again. Absolutely clear recommendation!

An absolute recommendation! I love "Qofte". The "Qofte" are hearty minced meat balls that are refined with spices and herbs and are a real treat for the palate. The dough specialties such as "Fli" mmm and "Byrek" - a delicious dough pocket filled with tender minced meat, cheese or spinach - are also particularly delicious. In addition to the hearty dishes, there is a large selection of fresh salads and side dishes and, above all, dessert! "Trilece" an absolute must! The hospitality and friendliness of the Albanian people is also reflected in their cuisine. The love for food and the dedication to its preparation can be tasted in every single dish. I felt very well. Thank you very much and keep it up!

* The pastry - Bürek - is very tasty, we tried spinach and meat pie and were satisfied. * I was happy to see the trileçe dessert, we knew it tasted good. * The location is very central, right at the foot of the spring market. * I recommend tea as a drink. The tea is not bitter. * The store has just opened and we hope it continues like this. * The person in the store takes very good care of the customers.
