Balboa in Regensburg

Ich habe Samstagabend einen Tisch im Innenhof reserviert. Vorab telefonisch geklärt, ob das mit dem Event so passt. Als ich gestern angekommen bin, wurde mir gesagt, dass der Pizzaofen kaputt sei und es eventuell in 1,5 Stunden wieder essen gibt, ich habe gesagt, dass einige etwas essen möchten und sie bitte Bescheid geben sollen, wenn er wieder funktioniert - leider hat nie jemand bescheid gegeben und wir haben zufällig 2 Stunden später gesehen, dass ein paar Tische Pizzen hatten… Außerdem wurden scheinbar kurzfristig die Tische draußen entfernt, weshalb wir zuerst keinen Platz hatten und uns anschließend an einen Stehtisch stellen konnten, nachdem welche gegangen sind. (Wir hatten das Angebot bekommen uns alleine in den dunklen Durchgang mitten in den Weg - nicht beim Event - zu setzen) Es hieß auch, dass wir bedient werden und nicht zum bestellen reinkommen müssen - was wir nett fanden. Die Bestellung die aus Cola, Bier und Spritzgetränken für 12 Personen bestand - kein Essen - hat 50 Minuten auf sich warten lassen und ich musste 2 mal reingehen und nachfragen, weil es immer hieß „noch ca 10-15 Minuten“. Ich finde, wenn jemand seinen Geburtstag in einem Restaurant feiern möchte, kann man den Gast schonmal anrufen und Bescheid geben, dass es kein Essen gibt! Es war zwar viel los, aber dann sollte man keine 12-Personen-Reservierung annehmen oder muss sich besser koordinieren, die Bedienung hatte einen Orderman, aber auf dem Block mitgeschrieben, wir hatten keine Karte bekommen und fragen konnte die Bedienung nicht beantworten, weshalb wir dann einfach so was bestellt haben. Ich hatte dazu gesagt, dass es auch noch mein Geburtstag ist und meine Gäste warteten durstig bei knapp 30 Grad, 50 Minuten auf ein einziges Getränk… Samstag Abend für 12 Personen spontan was anderes zu finden gestaltet sich in Regensburg eher schwer… Wir waren wirklich sehr enttäuscht, obwohl wir alle bislang regelmäßig ins Balboa gekommen sind. Das Event an sich war sehr cool und die Musik besser als alles, was man in Regensburg sonst so kennt, aber der Rest war leider so schlecht, dass wir nicht bleiben konnten, um ein weitere Stunde auf das 2. Getränk zu warten. Um 23.30 Uhr wurde mir meine Reservierung nachdem wir schon weg waren dann komischerweise noch storniert? Habe ich bzw. wir so noch nie erlebt…

als wir dort waren, war irgendein Event im Hinterhof im Gange - wir haben mit Müh und Not noch einen Platz im Gang zu besagtem Innenhof bekommen. Komplett überfüllt. Die nächsten 2h die wir ohne jegliche Updates von KellnerInnen auf unser Essen gewartet haben, wurden wir ununterbrochen von Mädels in kurzen Partyoutfits umringt, die um unseren Tisch standen, als wäre das Lokal nicht noch zur Hälfte Restaurant. Wir saßen ewig zwischen diesem Partyvolk und man vergaß uns komplett. Nach 1.5h kam mal eine Bedienung und entschuldigte sich, dass das Essen wohl noch 45min brauchen würde… An diesem Punkt wäre es auch zu spät gewesen Restaurant zu wechseln, da alles besetzt war - also warteten wir. Sie versicherte ebenfalls, dass wir, um die lange Warterei zu entschuldigen, unser Essen aufs Haus bekommen würden. Wir waren etwas besser gestimmt und als das Essen dann kam, war es wie immer 10/10 - die beste Pizza in Regensburg. An der Kasse mussten wir dann trotz Dikussion unser Essen zahlen und lediglich die 2 Schorlen die wir hatten waren umsonst. Fazit: - nicht behaupten es ginge alles auf‘s Haus, wenn am Ende doch bezahlt werden muss … unverschämt! - kein Event abhalten, wenn man die Kapazität an Arbeitern nicht hat und die Location noch zu Hälfte Restaurant „sein soll“

Wir wurden trotz Reservierung um 19 Uhr wieder weg geschickt da die Küche Minimum 1,5 Stunden keine Bestellungen mehr annehmen konnte und wir somit nichts zum Essen bestellen hätten können. Der Kellner war sehr nett und konnte ja im Endeffekt nichts dafür aber diese Organisation ist inakzeptabel. Drinnen an der Bar standen reihenweise Abholer für Essen to go und im Restaurant kommt man dann nicht mehr mit den Bestellungen hinterher. Lieber mal auf Qualität statt Quantität achten.

Das Essen hat wirklich gut geschmeckt und auch das Ambiente im Restaurant war sehr angenehm. Man merkt, dass auf Qualität und eine schöne Atmosphäre Wert gelegt wird. Leider mussten wir aber sehr, sehr lange auf unser Essen warten. Die Wartezeit war so lang, dass wir das Essen am Ende gar nicht richtig genießen konnten. Statt Vorfreude und Entspannung war die Stimmung eher von der langen Wartezeit geprägt. Das hat den insgesamt guten Eindruck leider deutlich getrübt. Schade, denn geschmacklich war das Essen wirklich überzeugend. Wenn die Wartezeiten verbessert werden, würden wir gerne noch einmal wiederkommen.

Leider hatte ich eine wirklich schlechte Erfahrung. Ich kam allein und sehr hungrig in das Restaurant und hatte eigentlich gute Erwartungen. Am Ende saß ich über 40 Minuten an meinem Tisch. Der Kellner ging mindestens zehnmal an mir vorbei und sah mich sogar an, kümmerte sich aber überhaupt nicht um meine Bestellung.

Also meine Pizza hat schon sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte aber beim (per Telefon) bestellen extra gefragt wie lange es dauert und musste dann aber trotzdem dort noch mal über 20 min warten- was ich finde der Service/ die Küche besser abschätzen können muss. Zum anderen finde ich es persönlich sehr störend und unangemessen wenn weibliche Kellnerinnen halb nackert (gefühlt im Bikini & Minirock) rumlaufen und die männlichen in kurzer Streifenshorts mit Glitzerschühchen. Ist mir persönlich absolut unseriös. Aber ich habe die Pizza dann kurzerhand bezahlt und habe an der schönen Donau schnell die Pizza genießen und das befremdliche vergessen können.

Essen: Die Pizza schmeckt lecker aber was mich diesmal wirklich beeindruckt hat, dass sie durch die gehobeneren Zutaten (ganzer Büffelmozarella, ungarische Salami) auch etwas Besonderes hatte. Ambiente: Vorne im lokal etwas crowded, die Nische in der Mitte und die Tische weiter drinnen sind definitiv romantischer. Leider wurde ich schon das zweite Mal gebeten vorne Platz zu nehmen, obwohl hinten für die Zeit meines Aufenthalts komplett frei war, deswegen ein Abzug bei Service und Ambiente. Service: Ansonsten tadellos, schnell und sehr freundlich!

Der Innenhof ist ein Traum, Tisch in der Gasse gibt einen Straßenflair wie im Süden. Wobei Tisch und Stühle einfach sind. Das Essen ist sehr lecker ich hatte Aioli mit Pane und Paella. Der Hauswein (weiß) ist vollmundig und mild. Ich gehe sehr gerne dorthin.

Mega gute Pizza😋 Waren Spontan dort schneller Service und Essen war auch schnell da.

Ich fand die Pizza überragend und das Ambiente auch sehr gemütlich. Bar Style, mal was anderes. Ja klar bisschen teuer aber mir war’s das Geld wert.

Coole Location in der Regensburger Altstadt mit entspannter Stimmung und guter Auswahl an Pizza und italienischen Gerichten. Ideal für einen lockeren Abend mit Freunden oder ein paar Drinks am Wochenende. Das Essen kam schnell und das Ambiente hat gerade abends richtig was.

Wenn ihr vorbei lauft und nix los ist und ihr dann auf die Karte schaut und denkt, dass die Preise ganz schön ordentlich sind: lasst euch nicht abschrecken! Das Essen ist absolut spitze und der Service super nett!!! Wir kommen wieder

Die Pizza sieht fantastisch aus! Aber die Lasagne war der absolute Wahnsinn! Der Käseklumpen oben drauf ist einfach himmlisch! Das Lokal ist sehr ruhig und gemütlich, und der Kellner war sehr aufmerksam! Sie sprechen Englisch und akzeptieren Kartenzahlung! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder, um die Pizzen zu probieren! :)

Kreative Pizza & mächtiges Dessert mit kleinen Schwächen ​Ich war vor kurzem im Balboa in Regensburg und habe die neapolitanische Pizza mit Pastrami sowie das Tiramisu probiert. Hier mein detailliertes Fazit: ​Die Pizza: Die Kombination mit Pastrami und der speziellen Sauce war eine wirklich tolle, kreative Kreation und geschmacklich sehr lecker. Der Teig an sich war aromatisch, allerdings war der Rand leider etwas zu kompakt und teigig – mir hat hier die typische Luftigkeit einer neapolitanischen Pizza gefehlt. Zudem hatte ich extra Chili dazu bestellt, das aber leider überhaupt keine Schärfe hatte. ​Das Dessert: Das Tiramisu kam in einer sehr großen Portion und war extrem mächtig und schwer. Es war geschmacklich zwar absolut in Ordnung, hätte für meinen Geschmack aber noch deutlich mehr nach dem klassischen Tiramisu-Aroma schmecken dürfen. Hier gibt es auf jeden Fall noch Luft nach oben, da es eher kompakt als luftig-italienisch wirkte. ​Fazit: Insgesamt ein guter Besuch mit tollem Service. Wegen des zu festen Pizzateigs und des eher untypischen Tiramisus ziehe ich einen Stern ab. Wer Lust auf ausgefallene Pizza-Kreationen hat, ist hier trotzdem richtig!

Wir waren diese Woche dort und sind absolut begeistert! Die Pizza war einfach bombastisch – sowohl geschmacklich als auch optisch eine klare 10/10. Auch der Nachtisch war echt gut und hat das Essen schön abgerundet. Der Kellner war super, aufmerksam, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Insgesamt eine richtig tolle Erfahrung – wir kommen gerne wieder und können das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Das Personal ist nett. Die Bowls (Pizzabrotschüssel mit Salat und Gemüse drinnen) sind lecker. Große Portionen.

Wir waren dort wegen der Pizza und es hat uns wirklich gut gefallen. Die Pizza war sehr lecker und die Atmosphäre hatte so einen lockeren, studentischen Bar-Charme. Der Service war okay, etwas langsam, aber die Bedienung war alleine für das ganze Restaurant zuständig, daher war das verständlich. Ich würde 5 Sterne geben, aber der einzige Grund dafür sind die Preise, die ich zu hoch finde. Wir sind schließlich in Regensburg und nicht auf den Champs-Élysées in Paris oder im Empire State Building. Eine Salami-Pizza kostete 19,50 € und eine Pizza Margherita 14,50 €. Auch die Getränke sind sehr teuer, z. B. 4,99 € für eine 0,33-Liter-Cola. Die Preise passen auch nicht wirklich zur Atmosphäre und zum Service. Es ist sehr entspannt und locker, die Speisekarte ist nur ein Zettel auf dem Tisch und die Angestellten tragen keine einheitliche Kleidung (nur so ein Eindruck). Für mich wäre es perfekt, wenn die Pizza etwa 3 € günstiger wäre.

Einen Salat Mista für 9,90 anzubieten, der nur Salat beinhaltet ist eine Frechheit tut mir leid. Pizzen sind gut aber leider auch vie zu überteuert, da an Belag leider viel zu sehr gespart wird.

Das Essen war zwar sehr lecker, allerdings wurde der Gesamteindruck durch mehrere Punkte getrübt. Wir mussten etwa eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten. Zudem wurden wir rund zwei Stunden nach unserer Reservierung (ohne vorher darüber informiert worden zu sein) gebeten, den Tisch zu verlassen. Dadurch entstand spürbarer Zeitdruck, und beim Abräumen wurden teilweise schon Teller weggenommen, obwohl noch etwa die Hälfte des Tisches am Essen war. Das wirkte leider ziemlich unorganisiert und wenig rücksichtsvoll gegenüber den Gästen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist lediglich, dass das Personal trotz der Situation freundlich geblieben ist.

Die Pizza war Geschmacklich gut, der Preis aber nicht gerechtfertigt. Man sitzt innen teilweise sehr eng. Der Service ist sehr träge. 45 Min warten für eine Pizza ist zu lange.

Sehr außergewöhnliche Pizzen sehr gut gemacht. Service hätte besser sein können

Zum Abendessen hatten wir einen Tisch zu viert reserviert und bekamen einen Platz in der Nähe des Eingansbereichs zugewiesen, der sich zum Glück in einer Ecke befand. Die Pizzen und die Salat-Bowl in Pizzateig waren gut und hoben sich von den klassischen Speisen ab, die man so kennt. Hervorzuheben ist vor allem die große vegane Auswahl, 3 Salate, eine Salat-Bowl und 5 Pizzen fanden sich auf der Standard- und der Spezialkarte. Mir persönlich war nur eine Pizza zu fettig - die Pizza Luca vegan. Die hausgemachten Limonaden haben hier echt noch faire Preise! Die beiden Servicekräfte waren freundlich und aufmerksam, die Getränke kamen nach wenigen Minuten, die Hauptgerichte nach etwa 20 Minuten. Gestört gefühlt habe ich mich durch die Fahrer von Lieferando & Co, die im Minutentakt ein und aus gingen. Da zwischen der Theke und unserem Tisch eine lange Tafel platziert war, haben sich die Boten mit ihren großen Rucksäcken teilweise so durchgequetscht, dass unsere Begleitungen fast am Rücken gestreift wurden. Hier wäre eine neue Ausrichtung der Tische empfehlenswert! Die Toiletten der Damen sind renovierungs- und säuberungsbedürftig.

Cooler Treffpunkt und Kaffee in der City

Essen war super, Kellner war sehr nett, hätte etwas öfter mal nach dem Rechten sehen können, aber nicht schlimm und es wurde uns der Hochtisch reserviert, die Barhocker dazu sind ungemütlich und es ist ne dunkle ungemütlich Ecke. Aber im Großen und ganzen war alles fein. Danke

Es war sehr kalt zum sitzen. Am Anfang hatten wir einen Tisch an der Tür da hat es sehr gezogen. Als wir uns umgesetzt haben war es hier auch noch sehr kalt. Die Pizza war alles andere als warm. Beim zweiten Stück war es schon alles kalt. Als wir eine Nachspeise bestellt haben, mussten wir lange warten. Als wir nachgefragt haben, ist sie nach 5 Minuten gekommen. Wurden wir anscheinend vergessen. Bei Nachfrage was eine extrazutat bei der Pizza kostet, konnte die Dame keine genaue Auskunft geben. Sie meinte zwischen 50-90 Cent. Am Ende als ich gezahlt habe, waren es 2,50€. Finde ich sehr unverschämt

Wir waren heute nach langer Zeit wieder im Balboa. Leider war dieses Mal das Erlebnis sehr ernüchternd. Vorweg ein großer Respekt an die Servicedame die am Samstag (17.01.2026) mittags alleine Telefon, Service und Bar erledigt. Sehr freundlich war sie zudem auch! Jetzt zum Essen. Wir hatten 2 Pizzen bestellt. Leider geschmacklich eine 0. Weder der Teig noch der Belag waren essbar. Ich weiß nicht warum die Pizza einfach nach nichts geschmeckt hat. Durch war eine der Pizzen auch nicht und völlig überladen mit Standard Käse der ebenfalls nach nichts schmeckte. Von 2 Pizzen haben wir mehr als eine liegen gelassen. Das tut bei einem Preis von 20€+ pro Pizza schon weh! Räumlichkeiten waren leider zu kalt es war zwar ein Heizlüfter aufgestellt aber viel zu klein für so einen großen Raum. Das Restaurant selbst wirkt abgenutzt und dreckig. Die Toiletten waren vor allem bei der Damen wirklich Ecklig. Preis Leistung absolut nicht im Einklang. Schade!

Das erste und letzte mal!!! Das einzig positive im Balboa ist das Essen, das wirklich gut war. Angefangen hat es mit unseren Freunden. Wir waren eine 6er Gruppe und 2 von uns waren früher da, teilten den Namen auf den die Reservierung lief mit und da hieß es, es sei auf den Namen keine Reservierung da und man hat sie einfach kommentarlos stehen lassen und ging weg. Als wir dann eintrafen nochmalige nachfrage und siehe da, die Bedienung war einfach zu blöd zum lesen. Am Tisch angekommen mussten wir selber erstmal 2 Tische zusammen schieben, weil sonst eine Person ohne Sitzmöglichkeit essen hätte müssen... Bestellung aufgenommen, Getränke ziemlich schnell da aber essen hat ewig gedauert. Es kam dann auch niemand mehr und fragte nach. Wir mussten gute 15 minuten dem Personal, das komplett hinter der Theke versammelt rumstand und sich unterhielt winken und das uns ignorierte. Dann kam endlich mal eine lustlose weibliche Bedienung und räumte ab. Wir wollten alle noch eine Nachspeise, nach der dritten Person hat sie versucht die restlichen zu ignorieren, ging dann in die Küche, kam wieder zurück und teilte mit, dass die küche vor 5 minuten geschlossen hat - wir hatten 21:50 Uhr. Danke für nichts - die Rechnung bitte!!! Absolut schlechter Service und somit auch kein Trinkgeld. Bei diesen Preisen erwarte ich dementsprechenden Service aber das scheint den Inhaber auch nicht zu interessieren sonst würde man was ändern (siehe andere Bewertungen)! Nie wieder und definitiv nicht zu empfehlen.

The ambiance was nice, but the service was slow. The pizzas were made in a Neapolitan style with fancy names, but were actually nothing special, especially considering they sometimes cost over €20. The price-performance ratio wasn't right for me. The cherry tomatoes in the salad and on the pizzas, for example, were mushy and tasteless. The service was inattentive and slow. Too expensive for what you get…

I couldn't—and didn't—order or eat anything. The server was quick to come to our table, but how am I supposed to order a drink or a meal when there's no menu to be found or even offered? The paper placemat on the table seems purely decorative, not a menu or informational tool. There's no menu available online either. !! Unfortunately !! ... Disappointing

We dined here on Monday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had reserved in advance, but the restaurant wasn't very busy. We received a warm welcome and were able to peruse the menu, which is very concise. The meals are on the pricier side. We opted for the salad bowls and the pizza napoletana. Our only complaint is the wait time of over an hour. But once the food arrived, we couldn't stop raving about it. Thank you for the wonderful evening! We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy excellent pizza!

The pizzas were very good. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is pretty standard these days: dark, uncomfortably furnished, and the music a tad too loud.

Without exaggeration, the best pizza I've ever eaten! Service can be a bit slow at times (but I'm willing to put up with it for such great pizza), but I wouldn't recommend ordering online! (It doesn't taste as good as eating in, especially for the price). I can highly recommend the Hot Ivan Pizza for €17.50. The Burrata Pizza is just under €20, but also worth it! I always enjoy coming here and am a regular customer.

Eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants. Teuer ist es in Regensburg überall, aber hier bekommt man wenigstens was für sein Geld. Die beste Antipasti-Platte weit und breit.

I had the scampi pizza (without arugula), absolutely delicious! 😍 One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The crust was super fluffy, the shrimp were fresh, and the lemon and tomato combination was really good. The service was also fast and super friendly. I highly recommend it 🫶🏽 I'll definitely go back. 🍕🔥❤️

Top Neapolitan pizza at a fair price

We ordered a salami pizza and a quattro formaggi pizza last week, and it was outstanding. One of the best pizzas in all of Regensburg. Service was impeccable, and it didn't take long, even though it was quite busy. We'd gladly go again.

Best pizza in the region! Good selection for vegetarians and vegans. I highly recommend Luca's vegan pizza.

The service is very good. They have a vegan pizza, which I liked partially, but the vegan cheese wasn't quite my cup of tea. The Gin Basil Smashed cocktail was particularly good 👍.

Delicious and generous antipasti platter. Friendly service. Excellent pistachio cheesecake.

We went to Pizzeria Balboa today. The pizza itself was delicious, but in my opinion, extremely expensive for its size (a Margherita, for example, was €14). The service was a huge disappointment: Initially, we were seated promptly, and the pizzas arrived quickly. However, after that, no one was at our table for over an hour, no one asked for anything – we ended up having to get someone ourselves. Meanwhile, the staff sat inside, chatting... Additionally, the neighboring table was completely messy for an hour, which didn't exactly contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. The courtyard is very unsightly anyway, and when you have to pay €7 for treated tap water, the value for money is completely out of my reach. The pizza was good, but we won't be coming back because of the price and the abysmal service.

Truly excellent pizza and a great selection of vegetarian and vegan pizzas. Unfortunately, the service staff were quite overwhelmed during our visit. We had to wait a really long time for our drinks, so a second round wasn't even possible. The courtyard is cozy and quaint, but there were pigeons nesting between the roof above the back tables and the tarpaulins stretched under the roof, and they occasionally stuck their butts out over the tarpaulins, which made me a little nervous. But this place really has a lot of potential and is definitely worth a visit.

We ordered three pizzas for pickup at 7 p.m. Despite it being a Tuesday evening, we had to wait over an hour – the pizzas weren't "ready" until 8:20 p.m. After just a five-minute walk home, they were already cold, even though it was warm outside (in summer). Perhaps they had been forgotten in the kitchen and left lying around. We still had to wait at the restaurant for up to half an hour after the order was announced to be ready. The dough was rubbery, not at all what you'd expect from a fresh pizza (reminiscent of frozen pizza), and even burnt in some places, which, combined with the cold pizza, tasted simply awful. Some of the toppings were okay, but the rest spoiled the overall flavor so much that the meal was very disappointing overall. We only ate it because we were hungry. Considering the prices of the pizzas, the value for money isn't even half the price, but rather terrible.

The food and service were very good. The courtyard has plenty of seating, but it's not very inviting. It could be a bit more welcoming.

So: Basically, one of the best/better pizzas in Regensburg. BUT, a tuna pizza now costs €17, and today there was really little topping on it. Will we really go there again or would we rather go to the smaller branch, which is much cheaper? Oh yeah, for two really small slices of bruschetta without the topping, you also pay almost €6. The pizza itself was delicious, but the price-performance ratio is definitely not right here. The burrata was cold and carelessly placed on the pizza, and it didn't even melt a bit. We were at least asked for chili and garlic oil, which is definitely a plus. In my opinion, there was simply too little cheese on it (see picture) and too little tuna. The cheese distribution could have been a bit better. For the price, I think this criticism is entirely justified. In Italy (Napoli), you can get the same pizza for €7. What I have to criticize, however, besides the long wait, were the glasses for the drinks. The ice cubes were already 1/4 melted, and there was quite a bit of water in the glass, which I had to get rid of a bit because I don't want to drink my Coke straight down. Today, as a group of 6, we had to wait quite a long time for food and drinks. One waitress wasn't in a great mood toward the end of the evening, which we could sometimes sense. Drinks were forgotten, and so on. We had a reservation for Sunday. The courtyard looks really awful, and depending on where you sit, it stinks terribly of toilets and drains. We suspect the smell is most intense after every flush. But that's not possible if you just want to sit and eat with a group... Regarding the restrooms: some of them are truly horrible. A disgusting stench, something's not right. Drugstore soap was diluted with a lot of water by the sink. You could only dry your hands with an air dryer. Cleanliness was okay, but could be better. I also noticed afterwards that some inquiries came from our friends (it was a birthday boy or girl today), and they made absolutely no effort here either. Yes, I'm not expecting candles or a jump for joy in the short term, but at least don't make the customer feel like they're asking stupid questions. Final note: Some people paid by card, and friends were told that Visa cards are crap because they feel like they have to pay 0.00004% (to put it bluntly) or something like that more than with Mastercard. I don't think that's appropriate for the customer, and it shouldn't be mentioned so negatively when paying. PS: I just noticed that my photos are very well taken :) Don't be fooled.

We visited Balboa in Regensburg and ordered a pizza and a pizza salad bowl. Unfortunately, the pizza lacked a bit of topping, and the salad could have been a bit more substantial. However, both dishes were delicious – freshly prepared and well-balanced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant, and the service was friendly. Overall, a solid visit with good food, even if there's still room for improvement.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We just wanted to eat quickly and move on... 😔 Although there were seven free tables outside, we were immediately turned away by a young employee – without any friendliness or effort. When a table for two became available, we asked again if we could sit there. The curt reply: "No, as I said, everything's reserved." No other suggestions, no question about whether we wanted food or just a drink. Instead of taking a solution-oriented approach, the tone was consistently dismissive and unfriendly. That's no way to treat potential guests – we definitely won't be back.

Haben sehr lange auf das Essen warten müssen. Die Bedienung war äußerst nett und hat, obwohl sie alleine gearbeitet hat, versucht es allen recht zu machen. Die Pizza, sowohl normal als auch vegan für knapp 20€ stehen in keinem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Leider kann ich das Restaurant nicht guten Gewissens empfehlen.

We were there for the first time today. It wasn't particularly busy, but the wait was still incredibly long. The kids were the last to get their food, which is completely out of the ordinary. We canceled dessert after 45 minutes because it was taking an unreasonable amount of time. The reaction was abysmal and abysmal! They told us to go to the Burger King down the street if it took too long. Never experienced anything like it!

Wow, what an experience! When you have to wait over 40 minutes for dessert, you feel truly privileged. And as the icing on the cake, the employee tells you: "If you want fast food, go to Burger King." Of course, customer service is a top priority here. By the way, there were 16 of us, including 7 hungry children, so it was a hefty bill. But hey, who needs paying customers when you can just crack jokes instead? For anyone who has a lot of time and even more patience to spare: an absolute recommendation. Everyone else, save yourself the trip.

Somewhat 'tucked away' in one of Regensburg's many small alleys, Balboa is a real gem. Even when it's busy on a Friday evening, the team is quick and friendly, simply on the ball. I can only praise the food as being top-notch: Have you ever tried 'Vitello tonnato'? Highly recommended! The dish, presented in Balboa's creative arrangement, is also an experience in terms of taste. Rarely have you had such a finely served dish. The pizzas are thin with a thick crust (as in Italia) and generously topped. The 'Pizza Burrata' caught my eye – I had to try it. And folks – you're going to make it to your knees! In the summer, sit outside in front of the restaurant or in the courtyard in the historic center of the city. We know from our old town 'home' in Passau that you're faced with small compromises as both host and guest in historic buildings. We found the ambiance to be appropriately rustic and therefore truly cozy. The interior is a bit dark, as Balboa is a bar that's frequented year-round, even into the night. Great evening, thanks.

Finally a great pizza in Germany! Music is awful, but if you sit outside, it doesn't matter.

Wir waren am frühen Nachmittag nur für Getränke im Balboa. Super Aperol und die Espresso-Martini-Shots, die es eigentlich nicht auf der Karte gibt waren Mega. Supetnette Bedienung. In jedem Fall sehr empfehlenswert 😀

Very friendly service, good food, and large portions. Inside, it's more of a bar/club than a restaurant. It's quite dark, so it's not a very pleasant place to eat. Otherwise, everything was good. I'd be happy to come back, but I'll sit outside.

Delicious pizza and the fact that the kids get a small pizza (ham or Margherita) for free (note the promotion times!) is amazing.

We came here with great anticipation on an empty afternoon, but we waited like crazy. We were the only guests in the restaurant, yet our order took about 45 minutes for five people. All in all, that's simply inadequate. About the pizza. The selection is relatively large, but no one option really appealed to me. The dough was solid, but nothing special. The sauce and toppings were absolutely standard. I had hoped for much more. As a passionate pizza maker, I can say that this isn't enough for me to come back.

Standard table reserved. Should get a high table on site. All places would be fully booked. But we didn't want to. Were then escorted into the backyard. Walked through unsightly hallways. Ambiance in the backyard was miserable. It was empty there. We were still assigned a table that wasn't nice and we weren't allowed to choose another table. Great pizza! Service good!

The pizzas are really a delight! Personally, I was particularly pleased that there is also a selection of vegan pizzas and salads. I had the vegan pizza with grilled vegetables and it was delicious. Since this restaurant does not appear in Google maps when searching for vegan offerings, I would like to emphasize that the restaurant is definitely suitable for plant-based eaters! Clear recommendation!

Totally casual, pizza delicious, service very attentive

The pizzas and also the desserts are very tasty. Friendly and courteous staff. We had to wait a little longer for our dessert due to a technical defect. We apologized twice and got a drink on the house. This is something you rarely see today. Everything is just right here. We'd love to come back! :)

Discovered by chance, the backyard has a very special charm, the pizzas were just really amazing!!!! Any time!!!

The 2 pizzas were very tasty, unfortunately we had to wait 50 minutes for the pizzas on a Monday when the restaurant was half full, but a lot of deliveries were made during that time, so unfortunately only 3 stars for the service. The place and the menu were full of oil, there were even oil stains on the seat of the chair, which of course were also visible on the pants. The light in the restaurant was very dark which made it difficult to see the oil stains on the chair. Nevertheless, the pizza was one of the best I have eaten in Germany so far. The rest was a bit annoying...

I was at Balboa. There weren't many people there, but we still had to wait a long time. The pizza arrived cold, the dough was like rubber - inedible. The middle was completely soggy, just mushy. There were no real pizza knives, so it was hard to cut the pizza - we had to tear it apart with our hands. Although the service was friendly, the food was simply disappointing. I don't know about others, but I definitely won't go again. I've been to a lot of pizzerias and know what good pizza should taste like - and this one was just nothing. And expensive too.

The pizza selection is wonderful, with basics and a few more unusual ones. The Neapolitan pizzas delighted my palate. The service was very attentive. The decor and style of the place are appealing. The acoustics are a bit difficult, as it can be quite loud.

Very tasty pizza. But the place is totally overcrowded. We were given a high table that was very inconveniently located in a niche right in front of the front door. The chairs had very small backrests and there was another guest right next to our feet. Surely that wasn't so pleasant for him either. Despite the reservation it was not possible to get another table. If you said that you wanted to take the food with you, you were given a pizza box and you were then allowed to transfer the pizza into this box yourself at a very small table where there was no space anyway.

This is a great place for a younger hip crowd but I also enjoyed it being an older person. The pizza was good with no complaints. Similar to the pizza I eat in my local restaurant at home. The price for a margarita pizza 🍕 is €14 and my Quattro Salami cost €19. I think for a city like Regensburg the prices are ok.

Pizza is very nice, although a bit expensive, even for Germany. But they have a lot of options, which is nice and not easy to find here! The staff is super friendly, but the environment is quite loud. In summer sitting outside is great, but in winter when you have to sit inside it's even hard to communicate with people at your table. I would recommend to slightly turn the music volume lower 😅. But overall, been here twice and always had great pizza! Can only recommend if you're looking for quality pizza in Regensburg.

Pizzas tasted okay, but definitely not worth the price of €17. We were charged €14 for 2 bottles of tap water. Sorry in the price range we would have eaten much better at another place!!!!! Please stay on the carpet, if you only offer pizzas and they aren't particularly good, you can't charge prices like that. Ambience is poor.

Food: The taste of the pizzas is okay. The menu is very tiring to read due to the design. A drinks menu is only available online (or upon request??) Prices for the pizzas are mostly okay, sometimes very excessive!! Service: Staff is very overwhelmed. At first we were given the wrong food, but then it was taken back and the correct one was served. Ambiance: Due to the design, the noise level in the restaurant is generally very high All in all, unfortunately we will not visit this restaurant again.

Hoher Tisch, statt wie bestellt Standardtisch. Der war dann auch noch wackelig und wir waren in eine Ecke gepfercht zwischen zwei weitere Gästegruppen. Das ist da halt so. Vorspeise kam zügig, Pizza dauerte sehr lange und war nicht mehr richtig heiß und dadurch der Teig „lätschig“. Für 1x Vorspeise, 4x Pizza, 5x antialk Standard-Getränk über 100€ - damit müssen wir uns mittlerweile wohl abfinden. Service war sehr freundlich. Ambiente dunkel und laut.

Unbelievable: We had reserved, got there early and were still supposed to take a seat where someone couldn't have sat properly, even though there were enough other seats still unoccupied. They preferred to let us go again...

I think it's excellent value for money and very tasty pizzas! My favorite Pizza Bella Balboa.
