Balboa in Regensburg

This is a great place for a younger hip crowd but I also enjoyed it being an older person. The pizza was good with no complaints. Similar to the pizza I eat in my local restaurant at home. The price for a margarita pizza 🍕 is €14 and my Quattro Salami cost €19. I think for a city like Regensburg the prices are ok.

Pizza is very nice, although a bit expensive, even for Germany. But they have a lot of options, which is nice and not easy to find here! The staff is super friendly, but the environment is quite loud. In summer sitting outside is great, but in winter when you have to sit inside it's even hard to communicate with people at your table. I would recommend to slightly turn the music volume lower 😅. But overall, been here twice and always had great pizza! Can only recommend if you're looking for quality pizza in Regensburg.

Pizzas tasted okay, but definitely not worth the price of €17. We were charged €14 for 2 bottles of tap water. Sorry in the price range we would have eaten much better at another place!!!!! Please stay on the carpet, if you only offer pizzas and they aren't particularly good, you can't charge prices like that. Ambience is poor.

Food: The taste of the pizzas is okay. The menu is very tiring to read due to the design. A drinks menu is only available online (or upon request??) Prices for the pizzas are mostly okay, sometimes very excessive!! Service: Staff is very overwhelmed. At first we were given the wrong food, but then it was taken back and the correct one was served. Ambiance: Due to the design, the noise level in the restaurant is generally very high All in all, unfortunately we will not visit this restaurant again.

Unbelievable: We had reserved, got there early and were still supposed to take a seat where someone couldn't have sat properly, even though there were enough other seats still unoccupied. They preferred to let us go again...

I think it's excellent value for money and very tasty pizzas! My favorite Pizza Bella Balboa.

I was eating and drinking here with friends and it was a fantastic evening, we laughed a lot and felt very comfortable. The menu is extensive and the dishes are very tasty, the service is friendly: clear recommendation!

Pizza: 4/5 (dough not crispy, should someone like eating their pizza that much) Service: 3/5: They bring the food. Knife: 1/5. Two forks would have helped me more than these knives. Waiting time: 1/5 Price: 2/5.

I've eaten pizza there twice so far, both times the pizza was amazing! Pizza Ravanelli and also Pizza Vitello Tonnato are highly recommended 😋

If you want to reserve a table at 8 p.m. on December 31st, 2024 and then just want to eat something (duration approx. 1 to 1.5 hours) you have to transfer a minimum turnover of 50 euros per person in advance, so 2 people 100 euros. I don't think that eating pizza in this establishment is a star restaurant. No thanks, I'll never go there again (I've been there a few times...) So no recommendation. But if you want to get ripped off there, you are welcome to do so...

The food is really very tasty & the staff is super nice! Unfortunately, it is far too crowded inside and therefore very loud. So if you want to have a conversation you almost have to shout at each other. Still 4/5 stars, the pizza was simply convincing!

Didn't get a seat despite a reservation. Even though we had made reservations for 4 people and had chosen not to sit at the bar, we could only be offered one seat at the bar. We then had to look for another location.

Best pizzeria in Regensburg. I ate the Bella Balboa for €17.9. The ambience is nice but unfortunately too loud and therefore only 4 stars. We'll still be back, thank you very much for the evening :)

Another place you don't want to miss in Regensburg. Come, eat, drink and simply enjoy and have fun. The service is very pleasant and kind, the food is great.

I was visiting the restaurant with friends and the tomato sauce on our pizza was unfortunately completely over salted, we kindly told the waiter about this and unfortunately we weren't taken seriously, which is a shame, it's generally not a problem if mistakes happen, It would have been nice if this mistake had been taken seriously.

We had an evening reservation at 8:00 p.m. When making the reservation it was already pointed out that there are two reservation slots, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. We were there around 7:50 p.m. and the table we got was a joke. A bar table with two stools, between the side entrance, storage and passage. When we asked if we could get another table, we said no. The table we had really can't be given away. You constantly had to get up when people wanted to walk through. The staff and delivery services are constantly jostled. Regarding the service: due to the reservation change, we were not served for 15 minutes, only after we asked twice. In the meantime, due to the hectic nature of changing reservations, the staff placed things on our table as if the table was unoccupied. 10 minutes after ordering the pizza arrived, unfortunately only lukewarm to cold. The drinks weren't there yet, they were forgotten. Quality of the pizza was good, but that was it.

It wasn't our first time at Balboa, but this time we were really disappointed...we were almost the only ones in the restaurant and it took forever until we got our drinks or the food...they also felt like they wanted to serve us Not unfortunately, the service was really unmotivated. Since we are vegetarians, we simply wanted mushrooms instead of bacon, which only worked the second time we asked in the kitchen, and then with an annoyed tone: but only because there wasn't much going on, the chef said. Oh ok. You top a pizza one way or another, or did that seem to be a problem somehow?? Pizza was good, but I also like this type of pizza. Nevertheless, both were really watery, especially in the middle, and also way too light.

We had pizza. Highly recommended. The price is decent though. But you can treat yourself to it sometimes. My pizza was so big that I had half left for the next day. So the price was for two meals.

We found the food to be consistently delicious, the pizza was just a bit too thin on the inside and not “stable”. Child-friendly is different (see separate point). In addition, you can hardly have a conversation in the restaurant because the music is just too loud. Very unfortunate.

As an Italian, I know that Neapolitan pizza tastes and looks different. We were at Balboa last night with nine people and unfortunately we have to say that we are disappointed. I had already ordered a pizza to take away once and remembered that the crust was too thin. However, since our group was headed there, I wanted to give the pizza a second chance. Now we all agree: never again Balboa! The ingredients of the pizza were okay, that's why it gets one star. But the pizza dough in the middle was extremely thin, almost non-existent. You couldn't even eat the pizza with your hand. The thick crust was reminiscent of a Neapolitan pizza, but the quality was far from that. The prices are also exorbitant; How can you charge up to 20 euros for such pizzas where the ingredients fall off due to the defective base? The service was also disappointing. Two of us sat at a very shaky table. When we pointed this out to the waitress we were given a bunch of beer mats to fix the problem. The table couldn't be moved either because it was fixed with screws and one screw was obviously broken. This is simply unacceptable. We ended up being asked to leave at 8:20pm in a rude tone as the next group was already waiting. It would have been helpful if we had been informed half an hour in advance that we had to leave soon so we could have ordered dessert. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The price-performance ratio is not right and I wish that pizza makers take a trip to Naples to learn that pizza not only needs thick crusts and ingredients, but also a solid base!

Das Lokal ist an sich gut. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich. Leider wurde 1 essen vergessen somit konnte man nicht gemeinsam anfangen. Aber ok, kann passieren. Preis Leistung stimmt in meinen Augen leider gar nicht.

Service super slow. Telephone orders are only made when you arrive at the pick-up appointment, so you just sit around in the store again. You wait at the table for 15 minutes until you are noticed, even though the shop is not full. Pizza wasn't pizza, it was almost soup. This was my first and last time eating at Balboa. The service is terribly bad, there were 4 of us eating there and one meal was completely forgotten, we had to ask 3 times and then it was ordered again. We had 2 pizzas that were completely raw Not recommended.

The pizzas are very good, salt and pepper at the table would be nice as we eat relatively salty. Garlic and chili oil were offered, although the garlic oil only tasted faintly of garlic. The service was very personable and friendly, but not very attentive. We always had to draw attention to ourselves quite vehemently. We like the atmosphere and yesterday the volume of the music was also pleasant. We recommend the restaurant, especially for a visit with teenagers who think it is “cool” there.

Do you know those summer evenings that should never end? We enjoyed one of these at Balboa yesterday! As we know, tastes are different, but yesterday ours were 100% met: antipasti platter, pizza, white wine & the limoncello sour were a dream! The service was also super nice. We sat outside, in the alley in front of the restaurant, and it was like sitting in an alley in Italy... We'll definitely be back!

A mild summer evening. So we sat outside on the street. Car free. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had pizza and both loved it. A Pizza Polly and a Pizza Truffle. The quality was very good. Definitely in the top ten.

Ich war gestern in der Pizzeria Balboa und war begeistert! Das Essen war absolut köstlich, aber was den Abend wirklich unvergesslich gemacht hat, war der hervorragende Service von dem Kellner Felix. Er war nicht nur unglaublich freundlich, sondern auch sehr aufmerksam und hat sichergestellt, dass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Seine Empfehlungen waren genau richtig und er hat sich stets um uns gekümmert, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ein großes Kompliment a das gesamte Team und besonders an Felix für diesen tollen Abend! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Unfortunately, soggy floors are not an isolated case. Always too much or extremely greasy coating. We gave the restaurant three chances (5 pizzas in total) and unfortunately we won't be going there again. The dough itself would be really fantastic, but the dough/topping ratio isn't right, at least for all the chefs we caught.

Pizzeria Balboa absolutely convinced me with their Neapolitan pizzas! The selection of toppings is huge and ranges from classics to unusual combinations. Every pizza I tried was a taste experience. The dough is baked to perfection and the ingredients are of high quality. The service was also very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for authentic Neapolitan pizza in Regensburg, you should definitely pay a visit to Pizzeria Balboa. I can highly recommend her!

Pizza OK, but not particularly tasty either. Unfortunately we had to wait 100 minutes for our food, which was a shame. We got our starter after the pizza, which was pretty annoying. Some people came an hour after us and they got their starter 10 minutes after we got our food... We didn't even give shots or dessert or anything like that on the house, but with friends who happened to be there that evening... Service was great very nice!!! (5 stars safe), the store is also very nice, but you have to rate everything overall, so unfortunately it's only satisfactory Edit: I was there again today, everything went really smoothly, nice service and good pizza. In the middle of the alley, calm. Pizzas are very tasty.

The pizzas are different from the usual offerings served in other restaurants. We were served in a friendly manner and the tables in front of the restaurant were also comfortable. The high prices alone are a bit intimidating.

It's a nice place, with cozy atmosphere and a space on both sides of the store which is very nice. The service was great and friendly with us, all great til this point. Then the food came, different 4 pizzas, and 4 different people had the same reaction. Tasteless. We tried a good selection and firstly there was little to no taste in the pizza. Secondly was extremely hard to cut, either the pizza itself was badly made or the cutlery needs a change. For the price they charge you would except decent quality food, but unfortunately we didn't receive that. Maybe pizza in general it's not a dish that people are good at doing in the area, but surely I won't try it again. Two stars, one for the great service and one for the nice atmosphere, that's all.

I celebrated my birthday here and initially made reservations for less but then got more which wasn't a problem at all. The food was great and so were the drinks. We had super nice service, Mucki, who made our evening even better.

Pizza very tasty and also in a good size. Price performance also fits. Definitely worth a visit. Dogs weren't a problem either, they even got water in their bowls.

It was my first time at Balboa with my family and grandchildren. We were welcomed very nicely and served straight away. The cocktails Sarti Sprizz, Aperol... are really great. Kudos to the bar, keep it up. We also ate very well, it was our best pizzas we had ever eaten so far. Also the salad, bruscetta, antipasti - kudos to the chef. What we also really liked was that the kids got a free margarita. I had never experienced that before. Finally, I would like to highlight our waitress named Muggi, you served us really well and we had fun with you too. Since the Balboa was so good, we went a second time and had another drink before heading home. We will definitely come back even if it's 70 km.

Very good food and friendly service. In a change from most Italians, here you will find extremely fluffy and juicy pizzas, which are also topped with the best ingredients. Also worth mentioning are the chic furnishings and the casual music, which give a visit the right setting. If you have any special wishes, it's best to emphasize this, as it can sometimes be lost all too quickly in the busyness of the business. Prices are generally a little higher than what you're used to for pizza, but given the quality, they're more than justified. All in all, a very good address, especially if you are looking for something special. After 5 years, time for an update: Food remains delicious. No matter whether pizza, vitello tonnato, cocktails, salad, tiramisu or espresso - everything is excellent. This time we were there for the first time with our almost 2 year old toddler and it was super relaxed. I was able to walk around everywhere without doing anything and was able to get a child's high seat straight away. Gummy bears were already waiting at the table and the little one simply got a baby margarita for free, which, to be honest, was almost as big as an adult pizza (~26cm)... We could have actually ordered one less pizza. Above all, everyone enjoyed it very much, from grandchildren to grandfathers. And last but not least, thank you very much for the fun, most relaxed and friendliest possible service 1, a.k.a. Julian. Just really good service! The bottom line is that it is exactly the same good address as in the pre-Corona era 5 years ago without children. By the way, this time the (anti) extra request worked and the pizza came without rocket!

Das Essen ist gut. Leider war es so, dass ich anlässlich meines Geburtstags an einem Samstag um 20:15 dort reserviert hatte. Als wir um 21:30 noch eine Runde Drinks bestellen wollten, wurde uns gesagt dass wir nun gehen sollten, da im Anschluss noch eine Party stattfindet. Fand ich schade, außerdem kenne ich das von anderen Lokalen mit Restaurant-Bar Konzept anders. Sollte man meiner Meinung nach überdenken.

Essen war sehr hervorragend, Service war spitze, Ambiente auch sehr schön. Anfangs war’s etwas laut weil auch einfach viel los war aber man konnte sich dennoch gut unterhalten :) kann ich nur empfehlen wer gerne neapolitanische Pizza mag und auf Qualität setzt :)

Hier gibt‘s verschiedene Varianten neapolitanischer Pizza. Das Ambiente ist recht dunkel mit Reminiszenzen an verschiedene Sportler, vor allem auch Fußballer. Die Preise sind noch akzeptabel.

Took advantage of the family offer today. Very tasty and large pizzas for us parents and (absolutely sufficient) baby pizzas for the kids were included for free! The tiramisu was a great way to end the meal! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Very friendly bartender and lovely service staff! You have to like the somewhat dark club atmosphere - we do and our boys thought it was “cool” ;)

The pizza definitely tastes great when it is warm and has not spread independently in the box. I ordered via Lieferando. The dough looks good, tastes cold and soggy, I didn't have much left over. The tomato sauce also had a good tomato-like flavor. It's a shame, if the pizza hadn't been delivered like in the photo, I would probably be completely satisfied.

Tisch für 9 Uhr und 6 Personen reserviert Tisch nicht frei und anstelle dessen wurde uns ein vierer Tisch zugewiesen. Als wir auf die sechser Reservierung hinweisen, wurde der Tisch in den Gang manövriert und zwei Stühle rangestellt. Das ist der richtige Einstieg für eine Reservierung zum Geburtstag... Auf der Homepage steht, dass die Öffnungszeiten bis 2 Uhr sind allerdings war um 23 Uhr "Last Call". Den nächsten Geburtstag feiern wir sicher nicht mehr da.

Reserved for two people, showed up 10 minutes before reservation and consistently ignored by staff. When we were actively told that we had reserved, the employee was immediately annoyed (?!) and pointed his hand at the tables and replied smugly that there was "obviously" no more space and that if we "really wanted to stay" we could we try to get a spot at the bar, but immediately turned around and moved on. No "sorry", just really unfriendly behavior, as if we were a nuisance and not paying guests. The best thing: I received an email afterwards that I was a “no show” when making the reservation. LOL. Incompetent, but arrogant.

Ich mochte das Balboa bisher sehr gern, aufgrund des Gesamtpakets (sehr gutes Essen, guter Service, schöne Einrichtung und angenehme Atmosphäre), ob für eine größere Gruppe oder nur zu zweit. Wenn möglich empfehle ich immer, vorab zu reservieren, es ist immer sehr gut besucht. Dementsprechend ist es recht laut, man kann aber noch gut miteinander reden. Wie überall sind auch hier die Preise zum Jahreswechsel 2023/2024 etwas angehoben worden (Speisekarte siehe Bild). Was mich neuerdings jedoch sehr stört, ist die Tatsache, dass man den Tisch für nur noch 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten bekommt. Im Reservierungssystem online gibt es auch keine Möglichkeit, das Zeitfenster zu verlängern. Wir waren zu acht zum Abendessen an einem Freitag dort und die Zeit reichte gerade mal für den Hauptgang mit Getränk. Und das noch ohne Verzögerungen in der Küche. Auf Anfrage durften wir auch nicht für den Nachtisch bleiben, sondern mussten zahlen und gehen. Für mich stimmt das Konzept bzw. auch Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht mehr. Denn wenn ich zum Essen gehe, würde ich gerne gemütlich Zusammensitzen, Reden, Essen und meinen Aufenthalt im Lokal genießen. Sehr angenehmes Restaurant. Top Essen super Pizza gutes Tiramisu. Die Bedingung hatte viel zu tun der Laden war voll und war trotzdem !sehr nett und zuvorkommend! Gute Musik tolle Athmossphäre und Stimmung

Es war sehr laut. Die Bedienung war nicht besonders freundlich. Wir sollten plötzlich um 20 Uhr den Tisch befreien, weil er weiter reserviert wurde, und das wurde uns erst um 19.55 gesagt, obwohl wir unseren Tisch vor einer Woche reserviert haben.

Wir hätten uns über eine kleine aufmerksamkeit zum GB gefreut, da wir bei der reservierung auch GB angegeben haben.. ein stamperl schnaps oder ähnliches :)

On the occasion of the “Regensburg-tanzt” campaign, cheap drinks were advertised, but when paying, the regular (much higher) price was charged. When asked why the offered price could not be paid, the employee wanted to call the police. Apart from that, the employees were generally rather stressed and unfriendly. The waiting times were also a bit too long. Absolutely no recommendation!

Great pizza, friendly service and nice location. The size of the pizza is enough for one person. As a desert I can highly recommend the chocolate pizza boat

Toller Service, super freundlich und aufmerksam, leckere Pizzen!

Unfortunately not a good experience! My truffle pizza for €23 was topped with 3-4cm of cheese and the dough was completely soggy. When I pointed this out to the waitress (wearing a midriff-baring top), she just said "uh, that's normal, since it would be a Neapolitan pizza." Very tasty, fluffy pizzas and not overloaded with toppings, just right. At first we didn't know what to order because they don't have the typical pizzaria pizzas here, but rather more special ones, including many vegetarian and vegan versions. The pizzas were very tasty, only a wood oven could have improved the taste. The prices are justified for Regensburg city center and the quality you get. The service was okay, unfortunately they didn't even ask if everything was okay or if any more drinks were needed, but they reacted quickly and served, although the place was full. The ambience wasn't that appealing. There are a lot of high seats and in general it is very narrow between the tables. There is not much space on the tables for table decorations because they are relatively small. The three of us sat at a small table and there was only one card, or you can't call it a card, more like a printed sheet, which was annoying until everyone found their order. There was a QR code on the menu, but it only led to the drinks menu. It would have been much better if everyone could also access the menu. There is free WiFi for guests in the restaurant. You can pay by card. You definitely have to reserve in advance. All in all, I would visit this location again. I can recommend this location.

Essen war lecker, aber leider lauwarm. Es wurde einiges vergessen und durcheinandergebracht.

Service war hervorragend, die Pizza leider nur mäßig gut. Für Drinks hervorragend, Essen weniger.

Sehr gute Pizzen, sehr guter Service, Gutschein gewonnen, jedoch nie bekommen.

Die Pizza war kalt und einfach nicht lecker (18,90€) Wir waren zu 10. Ich saß mindestens eine Dreiviertelstunde dort ohne das der Service auf die Idee gekommen wäre mal zu fragen ob noch jemand was trinken möchte. So ist es nur bei einem einzigen 7€ Weinglas geblieben. Selbst schuld, war auf jeden Fall das letzte Mal.

Pizza sehr lecker, hochwertige Zutaten- alles in allem prima. Bedienung freundlich, einzig am Ende unseres timeslot kam unnötig Hektik auf.
