Highly recommended restaurant! The food was fresh and delicious, the portions just right. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable. We felt at home.

We went to Pizzeria Balboa today. The pizza itself was delicious, but in my opinion, extremely expensive for its size (a Margherita, for example, was €14). The service was a huge disappointment: Initially, we were seated promptly, and the pizzas arrived quickly. However, after that, no one was at our table for over an hour, no one asked for anything – we ended up having to get someone ourselves. Meanwhile, the staff sat inside, chatting... Additionally, the neighboring table was completely messy for an hour, which didn't exactly contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. The courtyard is very unsightly anyway, and when you have to pay €7 for treated tap water, the value for money is completely out of my reach. The pizza was good, but we won't be coming back because of the price and the abysmal service.

Truly excellent pizza and a great selection of vegetarian and vegan pizzas. Unfortunately, the service staff were quite overwhelmed during our visit. We had to wait a really long time for our drinks, so a second round wasn't even possible. The courtyard is cozy and quaint, but there were pigeons nesting between the roof above the back tables and the tarpaulins stretched under the roof, and they occasionally stuck their butts out over the tarpaulins, which made me a little nervous. But this place really has a lot of potential and is definitely worth a visit.

We ordered three pizzas for pickup at 7 p.m. Despite it being a Tuesday evening, we had to wait over an hour – the pizzas weren't "ready" until 8:20 p.m. After just a five-minute walk home, they were already cold, even though it was warm outside (in summer). Perhaps they had been forgotten in the kitchen and left lying around. We still had to wait at the restaurant for up to half an hour after the order was announced to be ready. The dough was rubbery, not at all what you'd expect from a fresh pizza (reminiscent of frozen pizza), and even burnt in some places, which, combined with the cold pizza, tasted simply awful. Some of the toppings were okay, but the rest spoiled the overall flavor so much that the meal was very disappointing overall. We only ate it because we were hungry. Considering the prices of the pizzas, the value for money isn't even half the price, but rather terrible.

The food and service were very good. The courtyard has plenty of seating, but it's not very inviting. It could be a bit more welcoming.

So: Basically, one of the best/better pizzas in Regensburg. BUT, a tuna pizza now costs €17, and today there was really little topping on it. Will we really go there again or would we rather go to the smaller branch, which is much cheaper? Oh yeah, for two really small slices of bruschetta without the topping, you also pay almost €6. The pizza itself was delicious, but the price-performance ratio is definitely not right here. The burrata was cold and carelessly placed on the pizza, and it didn't even melt a bit. We were at least asked for chili and garlic oil, which is definitely a plus. In my opinion, there was simply too little cheese on it (see picture) and too little tuna. The cheese distribution could have been a bit better. For the price, I think this criticism is entirely justified. In Italy (Napoli), you can get the same pizza for €7. What I have to criticize, however, besides the long wait, were the glasses for the drinks. The ice cubes were already 1/4 melted, and there was quite a bit of water in the glass, which I had to get rid of a bit because I don't want to drink my Coke straight down. Today, as a group of 6, we had to wait quite a long time for food and drinks. One waitress wasn't in a great mood toward the end of the evening, which we could sometimes sense. Drinks were forgotten, and so on. We had a reservation for Sunday. The courtyard looks really awful, and depending on where you sit, it stinks terribly of toilets and drains. We suspect the smell is most intense after every flush. But that's not possible if you just want to sit and eat with a group... Regarding the restrooms: some of them are truly horrible. A disgusting stench, something's not right. Drugstore soap was diluted with a lot of water by the sink. You could only dry your hands with an air dryer. Cleanliness was okay, but could be better. I also noticed afterwards that some inquiries came from our friends (it was a birthday boy or girl today), and they made absolutely no effort here either. Yes, I'm not expecting candles or a jump for joy in the short term, but at least don't make the customer feel like they're asking stupid questions. Final note: Some people paid by card, and friends were told that Visa cards are crap because they feel like they have to pay 0.00004% (to put it bluntly) or something like that more than with Mastercard. I don't think that's appropriate for the customer, and it shouldn't be mentioned so negatively when paying. PS: I just noticed that my photos are very well taken :) Don't be fooled.

We visited Balboa in Regensburg and ordered a pizza and a pizza salad bowl. Unfortunately, the pizza lacked a bit of topping, and the salad could have been a bit more substantial. However, both dishes were delicious – freshly prepared and well-balanced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant, and the service was friendly. Overall, a solid visit with good food, even if there's still room for improvement.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. We just wanted to eat quickly and move on... 😔 Although there were seven free tables outside, we were immediately turned away by a young employee – without any friendliness or effort. When a table for two became available, we asked again if we could sit there. The curt reply: "No, as I said, everything's reserved." No other suggestions, no question about whether we wanted food or just a drink. Instead of taking a solution-oriented approach, the tone was consistently dismissive and unfriendly. That's no way to treat potential guests – we definitely won't be back.

Wow, what an experience! When you have to wait over 40 minutes for dessert, you feel truly privileged. And as the icing on the cake, the employee tells you: "If you want fast food, go to Burger King." Of course, customer service is a top priority here. By the way, there were 16 of us, including 7 hungry children, so it was a hefty bill. But hey, who needs paying customers when you can just crack jokes instead? For anyone who has a lot of time and even more patience to spare: an absolute recommendation. Everyone else, save yourself the trip.

We were there for the first time today. It wasn't particularly busy, but the wait was still incredibly long. The kids were the last to get their food, which is completely out of the ordinary. We canceled dessert after 45 minutes because it was taking an unreasonable amount of time. The reaction was abysmal and abysmal! They told us to go to the Burger King down the street if it took too long. Never experienced anything like it!

Somewhat 'tucked away' in one of Regensburg's many small alleys, Balboa is a real gem. Even when it's busy on a Friday evening, the team is quick and friendly, simply on the ball. I can only praise the food as being top-notch: Have you ever tried 'Vitello tonnato'? Highly recommended! The dish, presented in Balboa's creative arrangement, is also an experience in terms of taste. Rarely have you had such a finely served dish. The pizzas are thin with a thick crust (as in Italia) and generously topped. The 'Pizza Burrata' caught my eye – I had to try it. And folks – you're going to make it to your knees! In the summer, sit outside in front of the restaurant or in the courtyard in the historic center of the city. We know from our old town 'home' in Passau that you're faced with small compromises as both host and guest in historic buildings. We found the ambiance to be appropriately rustic and therefore truly cozy. The interior is a bit dark, as Balboa is a bar that's frequented year-round, even into the night. Great evening, thanks.

Finally a great pizza in Germany! Music is awful, but if you sit outside, it doesn't matter.

Wir waren am frühen Nachmittag nur für Getränke im Balboa. Super Aperol und die Espresso-Martini-Shots, die es eigentlich nicht auf der Karte gibt waren Mega. Supetnette Bedienung. In jedem Fall sehr empfehlenswert 😀

Very friendly service, good food, and large portions. Inside, it's more of a bar/club than a restaurant. It's quite dark, so it's not a very pleasant place to eat. Otherwise, everything was good. I'd be happy to come back, but I'll sit outside.

Delicious pizza and the fact that the kids get a small pizza (ham or Margherita) for free (note the promotion times!) is amazing.

We came here with great anticipation on an empty afternoon, but we waited like crazy. We were the only guests in the restaurant, yet our order took about 45 minutes for five people. All in all, that's simply inadequate. About the pizza. The selection is relatively large, but no one option really appealed to me. The dough was solid, but nothing special. The sauce and toppings were absolutely standard. I had hoped for much more. As a passionate pizza maker, I can say that this isn't enough for me to come back.

Standard table reserved. Should get a high table on site. All places would be fully booked. But we didn't want to. Were then escorted into the backyard. Walked through unsightly hallways. Ambiance in the backyard was miserable. It was empty there. We were still assigned a table that wasn't nice and we weren't allowed to choose another table. Great pizza! Service good!

The pizzas are really a delight! Personally, I was particularly pleased that there is also a selection of vegan pizzas and salads. I had the vegan pizza with grilled vegetables and it was delicious. Since this restaurant does not appear in Google maps when searching for vegan offerings, I would like to emphasize that the restaurant is definitely suitable for plant-based eaters! Clear recommendation!

The pizzas and also the desserts are very tasty. Friendly and courteous staff. We had to wait a little longer for our dessert due to a technical defect. We apologized twice and got a drink on the house. This is something you rarely see today. Everything is just right here. We'd love to come back! :)

Discovered by chance, the backyard has a very special charm, the pizzas were just really amazing!!!! Any time!!!

The 2 pizzas were very tasty, unfortunately we had to wait 50 minutes for the pizzas on a Monday when the restaurant was half full, but a lot of deliveries were made during that time, so unfortunately only 3 stars for the service. The place and the menu were full of oil, there were even oil stains on the seat of the chair, which of course were also visible on the pants. The light in the restaurant was very dark which made it difficult to see the oil stains on the chair. Nevertheless, the pizza was one of the best I have eaten in Germany so far. The rest was a bit annoying...

I was at Balboa. There weren't many people there, but we still had to wait a long time. The pizza arrived cold, the dough was like rubber - inedible. The middle was completely soggy, just mushy. There were no real pizza knives, so it was hard to cut the pizza - we had to tear it apart with our hands. Although the service was friendly, the food was simply disappointing. I don't know about others, but I definitely won't go again. I've been to a lot of pizzerias and know what good pizza should taste like - and this one was just nothing. And expensive too.

The pizza selection is wonderful, with basics and a few more unusual ones. The Neapolitan pizzas delighted my palate. The service was very attentive. The decor and style of the place are appealing. The acoustics are a bit difficult, as it can be quite loud.

Very tasty pizza. But the place is totally overcrowded. We were given a high table that was very inconveniently located in a niche right in front of the front door. The chairs had very small backrests and there was another guest right next to our feet. Surely that wasn't so pleasant for him either. Despite the reservation it was not possible to get another table. If you said that you wanted to take the food with you, you were given a pizza box and you were then allowed to transfer the pizza into this box yourself at a very small table where there was no space anyway.

This is a great place for a younger hip crowd but I also enjoyed it being an older person. The pizza was good with no complaints. Similar to the pizza I eat in my local restaurant at home. The price for a margarita pizza 🍕 is €14 and my Quattro Salami cost €19. I think for a city like Regensburg the prices are ok.

Pizza is very nice, although a bit expensive, even for Germany. But they have a lot of options, which is nice and not easy to find here! The staff is super friendly, but the environment is quite loud. In summer sitting outside is great, but in winter when you have to sit inside it's even hard to communicate with people at your table. I would recommend to slightly turn the music volume lower 😅. But overall, been here twice and always had great pizza! Can only recommend if you're looking for quality pizza in Regensburg.

Pizzas tasted okay, but definitely not worth the price of €17. We were charged €14 for 2 bottles of tap water. Sorry in the price range we would have eaten much better at another place!!!!! Please stay on the carpet, if you only offer pizzas and they aren't particularly good, you can't charge prices like that. Ambience is poor.

Food: The taste of the pizzas is okay. The menu is very tiring to read due to the design. A drinks menu is only available online (or upon request??) Prices for the pizzas are mostly okay, sometimes very excessive!! Service: Staff is very overwhelmed. At first we were given the wrong food, but then it was taken back and the correct one was served. Ambiance: Due to the design, the noise level in the restaurant is generally very high All in all, unfortunately we will not visit this restaurant again.

Unbelievable: We had reserved, got there early and were still supposed to take a seat where someone couldn't have sat properly, even though there were enough other seats still unoccupied. They preferred to let us go again...

I was eating and drinking here with friends and it was a fantastic evening, we laughed a lot and felt very comfortable. The menu is extensive and the dishes are very tasty, the service is friendly: clear recommendation!

If you want to reserve a table at 8 p.m. on December 31st, 2024 and then just want to eat something (duration approx. 1 to 1.5 hours) you have to transfer a minimum turnover of 50 euros per person in advance, so 2 people 100 euros. I don't think that eating pizza in this establishment is a star restaurant. No thanks, I'll never go there again (I've been there a few times...) So no recommendation. But if you want to get ripped off there, you are welcome to do so...

Didn't get a seat despite a reservation. Even though we had made reservations for 4 people and had chosen not to sit at the bar, we could only be offered one seat at the bar. We then had to look for another location.

The food is really very tasty & the staff is super nice! Unfortunately, it is far too crowded inside and therefore very loud. So if you want to have a conversation you almost have to shout at each other. Still 4/5 stars, the pizza was simply convincing!

I was visiting the restaurant with friends and the tomato sauce on our pizza was unfortunately completely over salted, we kindly told the waiter about this and unfortunately we weren't taken seriously, which is a shame, it's generally not a problem if mistakes happen, It would have been nice if this mistake had been taken seriously.

We had an evening reservation at 8:00 p.m. When making the reservation it was already pointed out that there are two reservation slots, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. We were there around 7:50 p.m. and the table we got was a joke. A bar table with two stools, between the side entrance, storage and passage. When we asked if we could get another table, we said no. The table we had really can't be given away. You constantly had to get up when people wanted to walk through. The staff and delivery services are constantly jostled. Regarding the service: due to the reservation change, we were not served for 15 minutes, only after we asked twice. In the meantime, due to the hectic nature of changing reservations, the staff placed things on our table as if the table was unoccupied. 10 minutes after ordering the pizza arrived, unfortunately only lukewarm to cold. The drinks weren't there yet, they were forgotten. Quality of the pizza was good, but that was it.

It wasn't our first time at Balboa, but this time we were really disappointed...we were almost the only ones in the restaurant and it took forever until we got our drinks or the food...they also felt like they wanted to serve us Not unfortunately, the service was really unmotivated. Since we are vegetarians, we simply wanted mushrooms instead of bacon, which only worked the second time we asked in the kitchen, and then with an annoyed tone: but only because there wasn't much going on, the chef said. Oh ok. You top a pizza one way or another, or did that seem to be a problem somehow?? Pizza was good, but I also like this type of pizza. Nevertheless, both were really watery, especially in the middle, and also way too light.

We had pizza. Highly recommended. The price is decent though. But you can treat yourself to it sometimes. My pizza was so big that I had half left for the next day. So the price was for two meals.

As an Italian, I know that Neapolitan pizza tastes and looks different. We were at Balboa last night with nine people and unfortunately we have to say that we are disappointed. I had already ordered a pizza to take away once and remembered that the crust was too thin. However, since our group was headed there, I wanted to give the pizza a second chance. Now we all agree: never again Balboa! The ingredients of the pizza were okay, that's why it gets one star. But the pizza dough in the middle was extremely thin, almost non-existent. You couldn't even eat the pizza with your hand. The thick crust was reminiscent of a Neapolitan pizza, but the quality was far from that. The prices are also exorbitant; How can you charge up to 20 euros for such pizzas where the ingredients fall off due to the defective base? The service was also disappointing. Two of us sat at a very shaky table. When we pointed this out to the waitress we were given a bunch of beer mats to fix the problem. The table couldn't be moved either because it was fixed with screws and one screw was obviously broken. This is simply unacceptable. We ended up being asked to leave at 8:20pm in a rude tone as the next group was already waiting. It would have been helpful if we had been informed half an hour in advance that we had to leave soon so we could have ordered dessert. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The price-performance ratio is not right and I wish that pizza makers take a trip to Naples to learn that pizza not only needs thick crusts and ingredients, but also a solid base!

This was my first and last time eating at Balboa. The service is terribly bad, there were 4 of us eating there and one meal was completely forgotten, we had to ask 3 times and then it was ordered again. We had 2 pizzas that were completely raw Not recommended.

The pizzas are very good, salt and pepper at the table would be nice as we eat relatively salty. Garlic and chili oil were offered, although the garlic oil only tasted faintly of garlic. The service was very personable and friendly, but not very attentive. We always had to draw attention to ourselves quite vehemently. We like the atmosphere and yesterday the volume of the music was also pleasant. We recommend the restaurant, especially for a visit with teenagers who think it is “cool” there.

Do you know those summer evenings that should never end? We enjoyed one of these at Balboa yesterday! As we know, tastes are different, but yesterday ours were 100% met: antipasti platter, pizza, white wine & the limoncello sour were a dream! The service was also super nice. We sat outside, in the alley in front of the restaurant, and it was like sitting in an alley in Italy... We'll definitely be back!

A mild summer evening. So we sat outside on the street. Car free. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had pizza and both loved it. A Pizza Polly and a Pizza Truffle. The quality was very good. Definitely in the top ten.

Ich war gestern in der Pizzeria Balboa und war begeistert! Das Essen war absolut köstlich, aber was den Abend wirklich unvergesslich gemacht hat, war der hervorragende Service von dem Kellner Felix. Er war nicht nur unglaublich freundlich, sondern auch sehr aufmerksam und hat sichergestellt, dass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Seine Empfehlungen waren genau richtig und er hat sich stets um uns gekümmert, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ein großes Kompliment a das gesamte Team und besonders an Felix für diesen tollen Abend! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Unfortunately, soggy floors are not an isolated case. Always too much or extremely greasy coating. We gave the restaurant three chances (5 pizzas in total) and unfortunately we won't be going there again. The dough itself would be really fantastic, but the dough/topping ratio isn't right, at least for all the chefs we caught.

Pizzeria Balboa absolutely convinced me with their Neapolitan pizzas! The selection of toppings is huge and ranges from classics to unusual combinations. Every pizza I tried was a taste experience. The dough is baked to perfection and the ingredients are of high quality. The service was also very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for authentic Neapolitan pizza in Regensburg, you should definitely pay a visit to Pizzeria Balboa. I can highly recommend her!

Pizza OK, but not particularly tasty either. Unfortunately we had to wait 100 minutes for our food, which was a shame. We got our starter after the pizza, which was pretty annoying. Some people came an hour after us and they got their starter 10 minutes after we got our food... We didn't even give shots or dessert or anything like that on the house, but with friends who happened to be there that evening... Service was great very nice!!! (5 stars safe), the store is also very nice, but you have to rate everything overall, so unfortunately it's only satisfactory Edit: I was there again today, everything went really smoothly, nice service and good pizza. In the middle of the alley, calm. Pizzas are very tasty.

The pizzas are different from the usual offerings served in other restaurants. We were served in a friendly manner and the tables in front of the restaurant were also comfortable. The high prices alone are a bit intimidating.

It's a nice place, with cozy atmosphere and a space on both sides of the store which is very nice. The service was great and friendly with us, all great til this point. Then the food came, different 4 pizzas, and 4 different people had the same reaction. Tasteless. We tried a good selection and firstly there was little to no taste in the pizza. Secondly was extremely hard to cut, either the pizza itself was badly made or the cutlery needs a change. For the price they charge you would except decent quality food, but unfortunately we didn't receive that. Maybe pizza in general it's not a dish that people are good at doing in the area, but surely I won't try it again. Two stars, one for the great service and one for the nice atmosphere, that's all.

I celebrated my birthday here and initially made reservations for less but then got more which wasn't a problem at all. The food was great and so were the drinks. We had super nice service, Mucki, who made our evening even better.

Pizza very tasty and also in a good size. Price performance also fits. Definitely worth a visit. Dogs weren't a problem either, they even got water in their bowls.

It was my first time at Balboa with my family and grandchildren. We were welcomed very nicely and served straight away. The cocktails Sarti Sprizz, Aperol... are really great. Kudos to the bar, keep it up. We also ate very well, it was our best pizzas we had ever eaten so far. Also the salad, bruscetta, antipasti - kudos to the chef. What we also really liked was that the kids got a free margarita. I had never experienced that before. Finally, I would like to highlight our waitress named Muggi, you served us really well and we had fun with you too. Since the Balboa was so good, we went a second time and had another drink before heading home. We will definitely come back even if it's 70 km.

Very good food and friendly service. In a change from most Italians, here you will find extremely fluffy and juicy pizzas, which are also topped with the best ingredients. Also worth mentioning are the chic furnishings and the casual music, which give a visit the right setting. If you have any special wishes, it's best to emphasize this, as it can sometimes be lost all too quickly in the busyness of the business. Prices are generally a little higher than what you're used to for pizza, but given the quality, they're more than justified. All in all, a very good address, especially if you are looking for something special. After 5 years, time for an update: Food remains delicious. No matter whether pizza, vitello tonnato, cocktails, salad, tiramisu or espresso - everything is excellent. This time we were there for the first time with our almost 2 year old toddler and it was super relaxed. I was able to walk around everywhere without doing anything and was able to get a child's high seat straight away. Gummy bears were already waiting at the table and the little one simply got a baby margarita for free, which, to be honest, was almost as big as an adult pizza (~26cm)... We could have actually ordered one less pizza. Above all, everyone enjoyed it very much, from grandchildren to grandfathers. And last but not least, thank you very much for the fun, most relaxed and friendliest possible service 1, a.k.a. Julian. Just really good service! The bottom line is that it is exactly the same good address as in the pre-Corona era 5 years ago without children. By the way, this time the (anti) extra request worked and the pizza came without rocket!

War wirklich sehr lecker & der Service sehr freundlich, nur nach dem Essen kam lang niemand mehr. Aber war auch verständlich da sehr viel los war.

Im Innenhof hat es immer wieder sehr sehr unangenehm gestunken. Am Schluss wurde es immer schlimmer. Essen hat uns dadurch gar nicht mehr geschmeckt.

Das Essen ist gut. Leider war es so, dass ich anlässlich meines Geburtstags an einem Samstag um 20:15 dort reserviert hatte. Als wir um 21:30 noch eine Runde Drinks bestellen wollten, wurde uns gesagt dass wir nun gehen sollten, da im Anschluss noch eine Party stattfindet. Fand ich schade, außerdem kenne ich das von anderen Lokalen mit Restaurant-Bar Konzept anders. Sollte man meiner Meinung nach überdenken.
