Schöner Biergarten unter Bäumen, direkt an der Trasse gelegen. Häufiger Live-Musik. Es gibt eine kleine aber feine Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken - Selbstbedienung. Die Mitarbeiter*innen sind freundlich und die Atmosphäre besonders in den Abendstunden sehr lauschig und relaxt. Auf einer Freifläche stehen einige Liegestühle, von denen aus man mit einem kühlen Getränk wunderbar dem Sonnenuntergang zusehen kann.

Schöner Ort, gutes Essen, Kartenzahlung möglich, guter Ort.

Sehr schön und liebevoll hergerichtetes Fleckchen Erde mit hohem Wohlfühlfaktor. Preislich auch in völlig akzeptablen Rahmen. Inzwischen eine echte Konstante und ein Geniess-Ort.

Leider war der Salat schon braun, aber ohne Umstände zurück genommen.

Lieblingsbiergarten an der Nordbahntrasse...heute den Pulled Pork Burger gegessen. Sehr lecker, klasse gewürzt, Pommes prima, Krautsalat auch töffte! Burger hätte etwas größer sein können, vielleicht lag's aber auch dran dass er so lecker war...😎

Es ist Selbstbedienung, von daher kann ich keine Sterne vergeben, gegessen habe ich nicht, also dito. Ansonsten eine nette Location direkt an der Trasse mit schönen Schattenplätzen- zunehmend wichtiger.

Ganz schöner Biergarten, direkt an der Trasse in Wuppertal.Allerdings finde ich es etwas zu teuer dafür das dort Selbstbedienung ist. Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort waren freundlich. Außerhalb des Biergartens befinden sich zwei Toilettenwagen. Fand auch die Musik etwas zu laut ,empfindet aber jeder anders.

Lage? Top Preis? Top Essen? Top Was soll man da noch groß sagen.

Kurz auf der Radtour einen Kaffee getrunken. Sehr nette und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Komme sicher wieder vorbei.

Toller Biergarten, man kann im Schatten oder in der Sonne sitzen . Es gibt immer ein paar Tagesgerichte zu der üblichen Karte, die Weine sind auch gut, lecker und nicht so teuer.

Unsere Lieblingsanlaufstelle wenn wir auf der Trasse unterwegs sind.

Ein gemütlicher Ort für einen Sommerabend. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer freundlich und das Essen lecker. Ein paar mehr vegane Optionen wären toll! Und wenn die Mitarbeiter selbst immer Bescheid wissen würden, was vom Angebot vegan ist, wenn man sie fragt. Es gibt auch immer mal Veranstaltungen wie z.B. Live-Musik.

Da der Biergarten sich gerade in der Startphase befindet, soll die Kritik als Anregung verstanden werden. Das Setting an der Trasse ist klasse und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die Getränkeauswahl ist sehr gut. Benediktiner Helles vom Fass, top! Ich bin kein Weinkenner, vermute aber, dass Weintrinker auch voll auf ihre Kosten kommen. Speisenangebot: Als Snack zum Getränk ist das Angebot gut, aber sicher nicht für den "großen Hunger" (bayerisch inspiriert). Es scheint derzeit noch alles für kurz verweilende Radler und Spaziergänger ausgerichtet zu sein. Wir sind gespannt, wie es sich in puncto Service u. Angebot u. Innenausbau weiter entwickelt.

A pleasant location along the route. A stop on a bike ride is always worthwhile. Chilling in a beach chair. We only had a drink.

Nice place for a short stopover

Great beer garden, with mature trees, right on the railway line. The menu is quite extensive for a beer garden. Very friendly service! And - they're about to renovate the old train station, bringing it back to life. It's exciting to see what's coming! A great destination for your next bike tour!

Good quality food, decent portions at reasonable prices. Located directly on the Nordbahn line, you can sit here in a lovely green setting, surrounded by hedges and trees, making it ideal for a break from your tour. The restrooms are located in a service car, clean and well-equipped, but not accessible to everyone due to the stairs. No waiter service; you have to pick up everything yourself and return the dishes.

A very nice beer garden, always worth a visit – unfortunately, the food today was very bad, and the service at the food truck was overwhelmed and unfriendly. Unfortunately, the man doesn't know hygiene either. He eats cake while preparing food at the grill, almost touches the money without washing his hands afterward, and continues preparing the food. His colleague made the best of it. Too bad, we're used to it differently.

Today we had a delicious apple pie. Good coffee, various beers, and soft drinks. It's a great place to relax (there's a bike path), and the little ones can have fun on the playground.

A very nice beer garden on the Nordbahntrasse in Wuppertal, with a wide selection of drinks. There's something for every taste: wine, beer, and various non-alcoholic beverages. The food options include currywurst with fries (not the usual, but rather crisp-style), salads, tarte flambée, and the like. The prices are reasonable. A truly great place to stop on a bike ride or for an after-work beer.

A very nice garden restaurant on the Nordbahntrasse (Northern Railway Line). Located a bit "at the back of the line," it's not as crowded as some other restaurants. The food is inexpensive and delicious, the portions very generous (only big eaters can finish everything 😉), there are plenty of seats, so you can usually choose whether you want to sit in the shade or in the sun, on a bench or a chair. Sun loungers are also available! Self-service, friendly service, and very quick food preparation. Highly recommended.

Super cool location and great atmosphere. Some lounge furniture certainly wouldn't go amiss, and the slide for the kids is unfortunately absolutely terrible because of the bump at the end. It could definitely be replaced with something else at some point. The kids regularly get a jolt while sliding down it. Otherwise, we really enjoy it here, and my personal wish would be some Bayreuther Hell on tap :D

We had excellent service, I believe from the owner and his staff. It's a relaxing and laid-back place to have a beer and catch up.

First of all: a beautiful beer garden. Delicious beer and good food. A nice gentleman and young man at the drinks counter. I was there alone with two small children (just 1 and just 3). I made an effort to quickly and correctly place our dishes in the returnable containers, but I didn't throw the trash (food paper) in the bin, whereupon a woman with partially dyed green hair approached me from behind (she was sitting in the middle of the beer garden with three colleagues) and snapped at me that "we could just throw that in the trash, too." Unfortunately, this impression will remain, but I will still come back and hope that management addresses this. Especially since I know I'm not the only one who is repulsed by these women's behavior.

Nice beer garden on the route! Relatively quiet today! But still, there were no burgers and no Brizza! I'll never understand why they can't manage their inventory! 6:00 PM was still relatively early! The food itself is okay, not great! Here, too, mediocre seems to be perfectly adequate! I also don't understand why the goal isn't always to be the absolute best!? So why do they even do it? Otherwise, a small menu that, if everything is well organized, is good! The beer was delicious and the atmosphere was clean! 3 stars, leaning towards 4! It's a very long way to a 5, though! Why do they always settle for mediocrity? 😔

Unfortunately the staff who pull the beer are very unfriendly, you get a warm beer and then you get insulted (they said that beer is always like that), you are immediately addressed informally and called a farmer.

Delicious food and a wide selection of drinks, service very friendly and professional. Unfortunately, it's not wheelchair accessible, and the bike racks (wheel rim killers) are useless. The dog boarding facility next door is annoying.

Nice atmosphere, beer garden, cakes very tasty. We were there on May 11th, 2025. Foottruck staff very unfriendly (especially the male one!!!) Ordered currywurst, which was ready after 30 minutes and then still cold. It's been like this on two different days now. It doesn't work at all!

I was along the route there with my e-scooter. I had a curry fries there. The fries weren't served normally, they were more like wedges and slightly twisted. The currywurst was delicious. It was a relatively thin sausage, of course it wasn't exactly cheap in terms of price, but it was a good stopover for a slightly longer journey. Well suited for meeting friends

The place is perfect to sit in the sun with a beer and have a good time with friends. Prices are ok. Food is really great. The food truck is impressive. The schnapps are also really good. I think the concept of sorting your dishes yourself is really cool.

Beautiful self-service beer garden on the main road. The prices are fair. The fries are delicious, and the currywurst is decent. There are also special offers on certain days of the week (e.g., Wednesdays for students).

Nice ambience, nice place to chill and pleasant atmosphere. I found the bowl with the fries/potato slices in it annoying... soft, fluffy, unsalted... ordered red and white, far too little mayonnaise and ketchup. And that for €5.40!... that's not okay! Service was friendly and quite quick!

Very nice atmosphere when the weather is good. You can sit in deck chairs or on benches. Play opportunities for small children. Storage areas for bicycles. Nice rest area after a tour on the route. Food is snack quality. Self-service. Friendly staff.

Been there 3 times - 3 times in a row completely understaffed. Finally, I waited 30 minutes for 2 potato pancakes, even though there were only about 6 people in front of me. Drink sales aren't much better either. Flame salmon was also cold and more raw than cooked through. If necessary, hire a little more staff or pay more so that more staff can be found. Seems to be a regular problem here.

Service organization could be improved, mulled wine lukewarm, bratwurst ok. 5:30 p.m. Mulled wine has to be reheated, it can be prepared better.

This is a very cool place on the Nordbahntrasse. A former train station whose outdoor area has been converted into a beer garden. The food is not mainstream, although the obligatory currywurst is a must. The food always tastes good. Beer and wine are also available and some mixed drinks are also available. In summer it is a rest area for countless cyclists, so there is also good parking for bikes.

We always enjoy being there again.

The Varresbeck train station is a very cozy location directly on the Nordbahntrasse that invites you to linger. The food is freshly prepared and tastes great. I only gave the service three stars because you have to serve yourself.

Cozy beer garden on the Nordbahntrasse. 4 cyclists for just under 15 euros was still acceptable. but self-service. We didn't see any charging options for ebikes like in other beer gardens on the route. That would certainly be good.

Self-service beer garden directly on the Nordbahn route. Here you can sit comfortably under chestnut, maple and linden trees, have a drink and/or order food from the food truck. The prices for the food are more than fair, the prices for the drinks are standard. For me as a cyclist, since it opened it has been the number 1 place to meet friends when the weather is good.

Unser gestrige Besuch bei bestem Biergartenwetter war leider überschattet von der enttäuschenden Speisenqualität, die aus der „Küche“ kam. Selbst bei einem Biergarten sollte ein gewisser Qualitätsanspruch bei einfachen Speisen gewährleistet sein! Nehmen wir mal in diesem konkreten Fall den Leberkäse mit Kartoffelsalat inkl. Salatgarnitur, Cornishons und Perlzwiebeln als Beispiel. Den Convenience Kartoffelsalat kann man getrost in die Tonne kloppen! Schmeckt nach Dachpappe und ist total wässrig! Wenn man schon Convenience Produkte zum Einsatz bringt, dann doch bitte nur erstklassige Qualität und nicht so eine minderwertige Qualität! Das muss an dieser Stelle leider so deutlich gesagt werden. Mittelmäßigkeit ist immer Ausdruck von mangelndem Anspruch und der Beginn abdriftender Qualität. Die überdimensionale Menge an K- Salat auf den Tellern müsste selbst dem Gastronomiefremden Mitarbeiter sofort auffallen. Mit der Menge hätte man locker 2-3 Mäuler füttern können. Quantität ersetzt Qualität?!?! Schon mal was von Food Cost und Food Waste gehört? Verschenkte Margen landen später in der Lebensmittel Abfalltonne an der Abräumstation!! Das hat nichts mit Wirtschaftlichkeit und Qualitätsbewusstsein zu tun! Es ist kein Hexenwerk, täglich einen frisch gemachten, bayrischen Kartoffelsalat anzumachen, ihn mit frisch geschnittenem Schnittlauch, Radieschen und Gurkenscheiben zu garnieren. Schmeckt nicht nur wesentlich besser, sondern ermöglicht einen besseren Margenbeitrag im Food-Umsatz, weil der Gast bereit ist, für gute Qualität auch gutes Geld auszugeben und sensibilisiert das Bewusstsein im Unternehmen für Qualitätsprodukte aus eigener Herstellung! Laugenbrezeln sollten frisch und knusprig schmecken. Es ist nicht immer einfach bei solchen Außentemperaturen eine gute Qualität der Backwaren zu ge- währleisten. Es ist allerdings auch kein Geheimnis, das ofenfrische Laugenbrezeln in einen Brotkorb mit einem Baumwolltuch oder einer Stoffserviette abgedeckt länger knusprig bleiben, als sie irgendwo offen rumliegen zu haben. Die Kleinigkeiten machen es aus. Eure Brezeln waren einfachen nur mangelhaft. Jeder eingefleischte bayrische Biergartengänger hätte sie Euch an den Kopf geworfen! Bei den „Käsknöpfle“ (mit Zwiebeln und Speck bestellt) sollte auch der verwendete Gratinkäse von guter bis sehr guter Qualität sein und nicht dieser geschmacklose Annalogkäse, den ihr zum Überbacken bei diesem Gericht verwendet. Meinem Gast war die pure Enttäuschung ins Gesicht geschrieben. Am liebsten hätten wir das Gericht umgehend wieder zurückgehen lassen, wenn mein Gast nicht darauf bestanden hätte, kein Aufhebens machen zu wollen. Als kleine Randnote ist noch Folgendes hinzuzufügen: Eine Halbe Benediktiner Helles, sollte frisch gezapft eine angemessene Schaumkrone haben und nicht vorgezapft und schal daherkommen. Schon gar nicht zum Preis von € 5,50! Auch die sanitären Anlagen sollten in regelmäßigen Abständen kontrolliert und ggfs. auf Vordermann gebraucht werden. (Papier- u. Seifenspender, Toilettenpapier, kurze Zwischenreinigung etc.). Alle Mitarbeiter, mit denen man bei Euch im „Customer Journey“ in Kontakt kommt, sind sehr hilfsbereit, immer freundlich und gut gelaunt. Das steht im krassen Gegensatz zur abgelieferten Speisenqualität, zumal ihr vergangenes Jahr zur Eröffnung erheblich besser wart, als Gestern. Wir haben gute € 100,00 bei unserem gestrigen Besuch bei Euch gelassen. Der Durchschnittsverdiener muss heutzutage im Schnitt €180-200 brutto verdienen, um €100,00 vom Nettoverdienst ausgeben zu können. Das sollte man sich einfach mal ins Bewusstsein rufen. Ihr habt ein ernsthaftes Qualitätsproblem, das dringend behoben werden muss, damit die Zufriedenheitsquote eurer Gäste nach oben zeigt und Wiederkehrer, positive Erlebniskommentare in den soziale Medien und auf Bewertungsportalen hinterlassen!

Ideal for a stopover by bike on the Nordbahntrasse. There is plenty of food and drink selection. We had vegetarian vegetable stew and pulled burger with fries. Everything was freshly prepared, sufficient and tasty. Coffee and sweets are also good.

Great beer garden at the beautiful old Varresbeck train station. Super delicious food and really nice staff. We'll definitely be back!

Very nice ambience looks inviting when driving past. Unfortunately the worst currywurst fries I've ever eaten. Isn't worth the money. Since I only tried the currywurst fries, I'm still giving it three stars. As we all know, tastes are different. I would still like to come back, but please no more currywurst

Beer garden as you imagine it, under tall shady trees, but also with sunbathing areas and a small playground directly on the Nordbahntrasse at the old Varresbeck train station and also easy to reach by car. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. So far, catering from a food truck with different, sometimes alternating dishes, which are always fresh, very carefully and deliciously prepared. An indoor catering facility will be added after the station building is renovated, and we can look forward to this and the ambience.

Delicious food, nice selection of drinks, great beer garden, great crew, and then, like today, live music and sunshine. Perfect.

When the weather is nice, just great

Unfortunately it didn't leave a good impression, rather it was quite disrespectful towards us guests. We wanted to go to Woodstock & More today with 6 people and were then told - with a smile - that it had been postponed until tomorrow. No apology, nothing. There were many other guests there for this reason, all of whom were very disappointed. Why doesn't the restaurant's website say that it's being postponed? This is how you get your store full. We won't be visiting this beer garden again, there are plenty of others.

1st update after approx. 1 year. Just the right place for a stop. Even without bikes. The events are definitely worth attending. AMBIENCE: **** SERVICE: Pick it up and take it away yourself. I think it's good. This also saves personnel. EAT: Didn't try it this time. Maybe next time. Food has become more expensive except for Mayo, ketchup... and bratwurst, Krakauer. "Just why" Compare the menus yourself. Coffee with milk was very tasty. Further update to follow. ################ 2023 But more like something to drink... Just right for a bike tour. Food isn't that great. Nonetheless. I have hope that things will improve. It's still new on the route.

We zaten met goed weer buiten. Bestellen van gerechtjes en bestellen van je drankjes is aan twee aparte locaties. Naderhand alles zelf opruimen van je plekje en sorteren in bestek- afvalbakken. De muziek van The Blue Potatoes was waardeloos! Dat bracht geen sfeer en geen gezelligheid. Jammer, locatie kan zo leuk zijn met wat vlotte-gezellige-(zomerse)muziek.

The admission office meets partly fresh salad drowned in ready-made sauce. Self-service is implemented here using the well-known beepers from the registration office. A great idea, if a beeper didn't constantly sound a loud alarm. Fortunately, thanks to self-service, the incompetent service at the counter ends. He is busy preparing the salads with his fingers, which isn't a problem since the ready-made dipping dishes are disinfecting. Of course, you not only put away the used dishes yourself, but also put them away accordingly. The location is not suitable for the dog daycare center with loud barking, at least the barking sometimes drowns out the beeping.

Visited this beer garden for the first time, even though it is only a few kilometers away from where I live. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The drinks menu offers options for all tastes. The wine selection is remarkable. The menu is similarly varied. The tasty interpretation of the currywurst/fries was interesting both visually and in terms of taste. This evening there was public viewing (NED vs. ENG) with two large screens with clear, loud sound. If you arrive by car, there are parking spaces in the area. Given the location on the Nordbahntrasse, we recommend cycling, for example. There are bike racks for connecting. Conclusion: Recommended

Nice location to stop off on the western Nordbahn route. However, the prices are a bit too ambitious given the service offered (self-service). The cappuccino cost at least EUR 3.5. There should have been at least one biscuit and more milk foam than coffee. 😢

The fries are super tasty. You can see and taste that they are homemade. Truly by far the best! Ambient: typical beer garden, benches and wooden tables. I liked it. When the weather is nice it might be difficult to get a spot as Nordbahnstrasse runs next door. We were also lucky when the weather was nice. The drinks are self-service and next door you order in advance and receive a beeper when the food is ready to be picked up. There is a large selection of dishes including vegetarian ones. I didn't pay attention to vegan. I can recommend this beer garden!
