Ein unglaublich unfreundliches Servicepersonal. Wir sind nach dieser "Ansprache" gegangen. Der Betreiber sollte sein Personal in einen Kurs schicken !

Zum wiederholten Mal ein grottenschlechter Service. Die Bedienung ließ uns 20 Minuten sitzen um uns dann zu sagen wir sollen reingehen weil draußen geschlossen wird. Gesagt getan saßen wir im Innenraum wieder 20 Minuten, die Speisekarte haben wir uns selbst geholt. Von besagter Bedienung wurden wir gekonnt ignoriert obwohl sie nicht im Stress war. Wir sind dann gegangen und kommen sicher nie wieder

Grundsätzlich gute Lage, schöne Auswahl und tolle Räumlichkeiten, aber... ...inzwischen alles etwas heruntergekommen (Speisekarten zerfleddert und Veranda renovierungsbedürftig) und eine Servicewüste (ewig lange Wartezeiten trotz wenig Gäste, unaufmerksame und zu wenig Servicepersonal). Preise für Heißgetränke ubd Limonaden zu hoch. Essen ok. Für den Gesamteindruck ist das aber zu wenig!

Tastes wonderful. Ambience very nice. You would like to stay here longer. Service is just Munich charm (no smile, no taste, no question, everything fits and no recognition even when saying goodbye).

Was there for breakfast. It was super tasty, lots of vegetarian selection and sweetly decorated. It just took a while for my order to be taken

It's simply beautifully decorated, generous portions, nice service. The perhaps slightly higher prices can be easily justified. You don’t go here every week 😉

absolutely unfriendly service. Deliberately misses you 100 times - even though you've already waved about 3 times. Only when other guests draw her attention does she “notice” you. The café also comes from a fully automatic machine for €5.90 (large) and is a terrible mess! The prices are extremely overpriced. Absolutely NOT a recommendation - Munich has other nice cafés to offer ;-)

We used to go to the Backspielhaus a lot. Now visited again after almost a year. Unfortunately, a few things have changed: first and foremost, the operation. We had to wait 15 minutes for the menu and about 45 minutes for the food. Then the food came incomplete and was only delivered upon request. In my opinion, the waitress did not react in a service-oriented manner: the delivery was simply delivered later, without an apology or a comment as to why the child had to wait so long in our case. The restaurant itself smelled of old grease, which further worsened the impression. I hope it was just a stupid chain of events. But not worthy of 5 stars today.

Sure, this is a snapshot... ....but: The way the staff treat each other is very, very strange. The table service is also very rough. For these prices I expect more attention and more friendliness. Maybe everyone was just having a bad day, but it was as written above.

Here you get the best brunch in Munich. However, it wasn't exactly cheap and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and rather annoyed. Too bad.

Not what it was 3 years ago, now all that's left is the Instagram hype. Quality and service have become significantly worse while prices have doubled. We were there for brunch last Sunday, with a reservation. The place was full, only 2-3 waiters on site, long waits to place the orders and have the food served. The women's toilet was a disaster, worse than the one at the main station - totally blocked - there are also children who have to go to the toilet! The quality of the vegetarian menu 'Tower' has deteriorated, there were also only a few cakes to choose from at the counter, only a small selection overall, but the prices have gone through the roof: 9 EURO for a San Pellegrino, 5.80 EURO for an espresso macchiato, now far too much for the service and quality! Don't go if they don't improve soon. I'm pretty disappointed at how quickly things went downhill there!

The 4 of us were really excited about the two brunch times. It definitely won't be the last time either.

Unfriendly staff. Only those behind the take-out counter are partly friendly. But rolls are usually dry or rubbery.

Very nice atmosphere in an old factory hall. Old radios and kitchen appliances are displayed on the shelves. However, the prices are very steep. Probably depends on the location. Everything is more expensive in Munich...

A table was reserved due to a birthday. On site we waited for the waitress to seat us. In a harsh tone we were told that we could sit anywhere. We chose a quiet table in the shade and were immediately seated away. It's a shame, that's not how you imagine your birthday to be. You don't expect anything for free, but a "congratulations" would have been included. The taste was very tasty, but the wasps were very annoying while eating.

Very large breakfast and friendly staff - really recommendable

Quick service, relaxed atmosphere, food is presented with imagination. At the end; the breadbasket liner ist a bag for you to take the leftover bread rolls home.

It doesn't taste bad, but given the prices, your appetite will be limited. Extremely expensive even for Munich. 3 pancakes cost over €16...

Popular café with a nice courtyard, winter garden is also nice to sit in, rather loud and restless inside, extensive breakfast menu, service could be more attentive, prices too high, leftover rolls in the bread basket to take away

Habe nach 30 Minuten das Lokal verlassen, da wir nicht bedient wurden. Trotz mehrmaliger Nachfrage haben wir leider nicht mal die Speisekarte bekommen und sind dann aus dem Lokal gegangen. Aus unserer Sicht ist der Service sehr enttäuschend und spiegelt auch die angebotene Preiskategorie nicht wieder. Es handelt sich hier allerdings um unsere persönliche Meinung und Eindruck. Unsererseits findet hiermit keine. Weiter Empfehlung statt. Wir werden dieses Lokal auch nicht mehr besuchen . Das Lokal war nicht mal zu 30 % gefüllt, und trotzdem ließ der Service so zu wünschen übrig, aus unserer Sicht waren genügend Servicekräfte da allerdings fühlt sich keiner für uns zuständig.

Food was quite tasty (although barely warm) Service was a nightmare to put it lightly. Unfriendly indifferent service. When I asked where my bacon was, the lady at the service just shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know." You felt more like a burden than a guest. As if the restaurant was stuck in the Soviet times. Well I have to stop writing, I think my bacon is coming soon

Das Frühstück mag ja ganz gut sein aber das bringt einem nichts wenn das Restaurant so schlecht gemanaged ist, dass die arme Servicekraft mit zu vielen Tischen total überfordert ist und man erst mal 45 Minuten warten muss bis man eine Getränk bestellen kann. Wenn man zu wenige Mitarbeiter hat darf man aus Geldgier nicht alle Tische besetzten.

Super rude “service”. I say that in quotes cause they didn’t even give us service 🤷 Sandwiches were ok, but I would recommend anyone that is not German to stay away from this place.

to preface, I work in restaurants. Ive managed restaurants for almost 30 years so I have a level of patience and empathy for slower services that most don't have. I "get it" and it takes alot for me to even care to leave reviews when i do have a negative experience. so we came in with 6ppl including our 93 yr old grandmother. it was a treat for her to be with her grandkids and great grandkids. we sat, (I wish I was exaggerating) for literally 60mins with zero attention. no sorry, be right with you, no eye contact, nothing. the only reason we waited was because of grandmother conversation and her enjoyment of our company. but deep down, I was full on distracted by the lack of service and even asked 3 times, very politely to be served...it was beyond my comprehension as a normal adult. literally 2 other tables in and out while we waited for any acknowledgements. after all was said and done, zero service, zero attention, we were simply in the way, and when the food finally arrived 90mins later, terrible. Just terrible and did not sit well at all. 200 euros later, (I still don't know for what), it was simply the worst experience and food I have ever been subjected to. locals are maybe treated differently, but as a tourist, don't go!! offensively awful services and food.

On Sunday, July 14th, 2024, we met for a birthday brunch and were very enthusiastic about the atmosphere. However, disappointment quickly set in when, after half an hour, we were finally allowed to order our drinks from rude staff. After repeatedly pointing out that we would finally like to order our food after 1.5 hours, we were finally allowed to have brunch... Not recommended!

Ambiance is good, unfortunately very very rude and unfriendly staff. You don't feel welcome. I would definitely not recommend coming here

The worst place what I saw in München.Service is horrible.

Horribly unfriendly service, as far as the older lady and the receptionist are concerned, although we were uncomplicated, yet remained very polite and friendly and were happy to spend a lot of money on good food. You felt like a parasite the whole time. Very unfortunate. I was also expecting an apology from the waitress since we are already regulars. But this never came, which was reflected in the tip. We won't be coming back anymore.

It's worth a visit here. A special kind of breakfast with a wonderful selection and a wonderful, inviting atmosphere. I have never experienced such a detailed and at the same time sustainable, in short, well-rounded concept with bread bags in which you can pack leftovers in Berlin. Since the restaurant is very busy and the seating options are very spacious, it is worthwhile for everyone involved to discuss with the service team where their own seat is suitable. Then everything goes smoothly, you eat deliciously, have something with you for later and have a wonderful experience that you will remember fondly. I really enjoy coming back alone or with friends. :-D

Food is great.. but look at the receipt.. what kind of water is charged - in my opinion that should be forbidden for all restaurateurs - it is a basic food - no bottle of water should ever cost more than 3-4 euros.. just think in the overall concept.. #thanks

Unfortunately, the service and the selection of food have decreased

There was no one to be seen who could offer us a place. Actively asked an employee if you could sit anywhere, he said yes. At some point we got a map. 15 minutes later a gentleman came to our table and rudely and rudely told us that we couldn't sit here. We told him very clearly that an employee had given us “clearance” and that he should please be friendly!! We were then not served for 20 minutes and found out that no waitress was “allowed” to come to us. When asked about this, things escalated relatively quickly and we left this customer-hostile piece of waste of space after the employee initially spoken to was afraid of the person in charge that day and said nothing more about his approval. The person in charge was tall, overweight (in all our eyes) and balding and the same person who had treated us so rudely at the beginning. He was later introduced as the managing director when I asked about this. Well, if that's the truth, the fish stinks from the head. If something like that happens to me again in my life, I will take a photo. I hope and wish that this review will bring an improvement for other guests.

Good breakfast slightly overpriced and staff very unfriendly. Long waiting times and waiters don't recognize you as a guest and you are insulted when criticism is expressed. A pity!

You can have breakfast until 5. The eggs are good and the rolls are also delicious, so it's a good breakfast. Worth a visit

To order Breakfast you have to wait 30 min and to eat 1 Hour. It’s not the waiters fault, they are 3 person and trying to manage around 160 people which is of course not possible. The Management has to do something about that …

High prices for breakfast and coffee

The food was cold and the juice was not edible. Prices are way too expensive. Not recommendable.

Extremely unfriendly and visibly stressed service that tends to bossily attack guests when they unknowingly get in the way. Also very expensive.

Price performance is just difficult

Very tasty food/breakfast selection there! There is something for everybody. Highly recommended, even if it's a little cheaper, it's worth it!

Actually we just wanted to have breakfast here and meet up with my girlfriend. But nothing came of it, because we were still sitting here at lunchtime, and only after "drinking coffee" were we kindly asked to leave because they wanted to close. Awesome... A great location, great ambience, very good food and great service force you to stay longer and enjoy it. I will definitely have breakfast here again. 😎

Absolute impudence to charge 8 euros for not even 1 liter of water. Water is imported from Italy by Nestlé San Pellegrino, we don't have enough water in Germany. The bottle wasn't opened at the table either. Food is good, but also very expensive, even for Munich. Don't know anything about allergens and only had to go to the kitchen twice.

Guests not welcome!!! The feeling stayed with you until you left the restaurant. Absolutely not recommended, cheeky comments and no attention from the service. Never again!!!

Arrived here as I visited München for Oktoberfest, we randomly stopped off here for something to eat and was pleasantly surprised to what we ordered. Food was fantastic, so much so we came back the day after 😁. I will return her when I next visit München.

Wir wollten reservieren. Es wurde uns am Telefon gesagt braucht es nicht. Als wir uns dann einen Tisch ausgesucht hatten kam die Kellnerin und meinte sehr unfreundlich der Tisch ist reserviert. Das Frühstück war nicht besonders. Als wir bezahlen wollten hat uns die Kellerin mehr als dreimal nicht auf uns reagiert. Eigentlich hätten wir gehen können. Nie wieder, dass ist sicher. Ich verstehe ja das wir in Deutschland überall Fachkräftemangel haben, aber wenn jemand nicht für den Service geeignet ist sollte er besser was anderes machen

I have never experienced such rude service from both waitresses! In the end, one of them was waiting for a tip. When I didn't give any and asked to buy some extra orange juice, she basically turned her back to me and said goodbye.

The waitress, the green-eyed one with the tattoo, treated us very badly. I don't understand how they allow themselves to work there and treat customers this way. Even though the restaurant is beautiful, the waitress didn't allow us to sit inside. They brought us the order without clearing the table even though I asked them before until I asked again...very bad experience

Shameless service, rarely experienced anything like that. We wanted to have breakfast with small children and a lady with walking difficulties and were ignored, driven away from the table, told that we would be seated, then left standing and then insulted in an absolutely unprofessional manner. “If you can’t stand for that long, why are you even going for breakfast?” “And you can wait forever, but no one will serve you today!” Absolute impudence. We just wanted to have a nice breakfast. Discriminatory for people with walking disabilities.

This is my first ever “bad review” that I’m writing. I have never experienced anything like it. Reserve a table for breakfast on Monday for the following Sunday (Mother's Day). I get a call on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. that there is no more space available at the desired time and that there is only brunch with defined compositions. My attempt to explain (information regarding availability and no reference to brunch when making a reservation) that this didn't go well (I think) didn't get through because I was told that “this has been the case for the last six years ”… dear Backspielhaus: I apologize for my ignorance. I'm finishing up now, I still have to find a table for Sunday. I think the chances of getting another one are good.

Great eggs Benedict, and great shakshuka. Everything was super tasty, and looked nice as well! The only thing I would change in eggs Benedict is that they were not runny enough, but the taste was amazing!

The restaurant is done in a “vintage” style, but also looks old and not well maintained. It's a shame and disproportionate for the prices charged there.

Very nice, charming service. Very well attended restaurant in the guest garden. Were there for brunch. 12 people and we were completely satisfied!!! A very pleasantly furnished location, which we all really like. Plenty of food: salmon, cheese, spreads, ham, raw ham, cream cheese, small muesli and, and, and....... Great♡♡♡♡♡

My binding long-term reservation. on April 30th was consciously and deliberately ignored by the person in charge (RASULI): “then you won’t be served”. Frustrated as a guest, intolerable ; No apology!! Thomas

Even one star for the outrageous and cheeky tone towards the guests is still too much! The fact that the customer is no longer king is in itself very unfortunate. But it is unthinkable that as a guest you have to put up with such arrogant treatment. We preferred to leave the tall building.

Would have been a 5 star rating, unfortunately the attendant was so unbelievably unfriendly that we didn't enjoy the whole breakfast anymore. First we waited 10 minutes, then we sat down somewhere. We were then moved again after 10 minutes even though everything was clear until we left. Very unfortunate.

“Find a place and be patient” was the greeting. Then two menus were handed to us and we weren't served for half an hour. The lady was obviously alone, so you can't blame her. But I would simply suggest to the operator that they hire more staff. Given the prices, he should be able to afford it.

It was cold outside last Sunday. We wanted to have a coffee break while the kids were competing basketball next door. This place was open (Sunday until 17:00!). We arrived at 15:58, the staffs were already cleaning up.. no one cared about us or pretended not to see us. Not a great start already. We have been finally noticed at 16:07. conscious of the time, we decided to order coffees on a To Go cup to avoid the staffs to wash 3 extra cups! We have been served at 16:14 as you can see on the receipt. We were 3 persons, 1 left to watch the game and 2 of us stayed at the terrace of this BackspielHaus. The cleaning lady stormed at us and told us to go away as we paid for take away coffee. That was mega rude! We paid for those coffees! Never ever again wouldn’t spend my money there

The ambience is actually nice, but it is completely overcrowded and the noise is anything but pleasant. More than €20 per person, excluding drinks, is a lot for breakfast. But the breakfast is really good. However, the fact that the store is completely understaffed should not be the case given the price. The fact that you have to wait more than 20 minutes before the waitress has time to take a repeat order is unacceptable at this price. Here, profit is maximized at the expense of staff and guests.

Except for the small, delicious rolls, a very simple “Backspielhaus” breakfast for €17. Far too expensive and I don't think the price/performance ratio is right anymore. Too few staff, therefore long waiting times. A few years ago, breakfast in the “Backspielhaus” was a highlight. For me "never again"

Weak service. Despite having a table reservation, we were completely overwhelmed. Was our last visit. The previous operators simply had a better handle on the store.

Seit Jahren besuchen wir zu bestimmten Anlässen immer wieder das Backspielhaus, aus Tradition meist mit Familie. Seit ca. 1 Jahr wird die Salami und der rohe Schinken viel zu dick geschnitten. Ich habe dies mehrfach moniert, leider erfolglos. Ansonsten schmeckt das Frühstück, Käse usw. recht gut. Bei diesen, doch sehr hohen Preisen, würde ich allerdings erwarten, dass die Toiletten sauberer gereinigt werden. Da ist noch viel Luft nach oben.

I have known about B. for years and have often been there with friends. There were delicious breakfast options. Expensive but worth the price. The ambience is original. Unfortunately that has changed. Too few staff, therefore long waiting times. The standard breakfast for €17.4 contained a cold, older egg (which was replaced), simple slices of sausage and cheese, a tablespoon of cereal in plastic, a tiny portion of herb quark hidden under a leaf of parsley. 1 small portion of butter in foil. Good jam. Enough small, delicious doll rolls (bags so you can take rolls with you. Nice touch). The grandson ate a pancake with popcorn and lots of cream on it. Drinks extra, very expensive. Good, we've had enough. I paid €74. The baking playhouse has lost its charm, as has the ambience. The breakfast quality. For us, never again.

Very nice. A reservation is necessary otherwise you may have to wait. Breakfast is always very nice with a lot of choice. The service is also great.
