Baan Sukhothai in Recklinghausen

Ich war im März zum ersten Mal im Baan Sukhothai essen. Bereits vorher hatte ich schon viele positive Berichte gehört und war gespannt es selbst nun einmal auszuprobieren. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend im Baan Sukhothai und das Restaurant war dementsprechend gut besucht. Den Tisch hatten wir im Voraus reserviert. Bei Eintreffen wurden wir auch sehr freundlich und sofort an unseren Tisch geführt und die Getränke- sowie Speisebestellung erfolgte kurze Zeit später. Beides wurde zügig serviert. Das man an einem Samstagabend bei vollem Haus vielleicht mehr als 5 Minuten warten muss, sollte jedem bewusst sein. Trotzdem empfanden wir die Wartezeit als vollkommen ok. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker! Es werden u. A. Gerichte angeboten, die aus drei verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen bestehen. Tolle Idee, so kann man mehrere Dinge ausprobieren! Mir haben alle Gerichte sehr gut geschmeckt. Alles in allem war es ein toller Abend mit sehr gutem Essen in angenehmen Ambiente. Es war mit Sicherheit nicht der letzte Besuch im Baan Sukhothai!

Food was good but expensive. My friend ordered Thai spice, I don't like anything spicy, I was able to eat his dishes without any problems. Zero sharp

Ordinary Asian food like 'Chinese'. But a very quick serving of food and no stomach pain.

The service was friendly, the food was ok! We found the portions very sparse, and we didn't find the vegetables in our dishes to be fresh or crunchy either. The price/performance ratio doesn't fit!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the waiters are super friendly! The food has always been well prepared and delicious! You will be asked beforehand about the level of spiciness. We would come here again and again!

All in all, it's nice to sit quietly. Cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, our drink request could not be fulfilled and was only reduced when we asked for the invoice and it all took a little long, so the service was deducted and we only liked 70% of the food.

35 Minuten vergingen, bis zunächst Getränke bestellt werden konnten. Das lauwarme Essen war teilweise nicht gemäß der Bestellung, das Servieren des Reis dauerte dann nochmals 10 Minuten. Wie bei fast jedem Besuch wurde mit Personalengpässen argumentiert. Qualität des Essens hat sich au h verschlechtert. Nach dem heutigen Besuch würde ich es nicht mehr empfehlen.

The food was excellent and the stylish decor of the restaurant creates a great atmosphere. It is a real highlight, especially for lovers of spicy dishes. However, you should choose the level of spiciness carefully. The service was friendly, even if we had to wait a little longer on Sunday evening due to the high number of people, but that's understandable 👌 The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable because the quality of the food is excellent. Since I have been to Thailand myself, I can confirm: the taste is authentic and reminds me directly of my experiences there 🇹🇭🥘🍛🫕🌶️

The restaurant is a recommendation for very large groups but also with small groups, it is very child-friendly and it is very comfortable to sit here. Encouraged by our voucher book, we went to Baan Sukhothai today. All of our dishes were very tasty and well prepared. In terms of food, we were absolutely satisfied. BUT, the waiting time of more than an hour and a half is unreasonable. And there wasn't even an apology when paying. Considering the many other good reviews, one would hope that today was an exception and that there aren't always such long waiting times at Baan Sukhothai.

I had the house recommendation, a dish made up of three small dishes mixed together. It was very tasty

Animiert durch unser Gutschein-Buch waren wir heute im Baan Sukhothai. Alle unsere Gerichte waren sehr schmackhaft und bestens zubereitet. Essenstechnisch waren wir absolut zufrieden. ABER, die Wartezeit von mehr als anderthalb Stunden sind eine Zumutung. Und beim Bezahlen gab es noch nicht einmal eine Entschuldigung. In Anbetracht der vielen anderen guten Rezensionen will man hoffen, dass das heute eine Ausnahme war und es im Baan Sukhothai nicht immer so lange Wartezeiten gibt.

edit: After another visit in November 2024, the prices have increased significantly, which is normal in these times. Personally, I think the quantities on the plates are far too little in relation to the current prices! Lots of decoration and little food somehow?! It's still delicious! _____ We felt very comfortable all around! Nice and attentive service and of course really delicious food! Gladly again!

If you have a passion for Thai cuisine, you shouldn't miss this restaurant. The menu is diverse. The dishes, prepared with individual levels of spiciness, are sophisticated and absolutely tasty. The staff is attentive, competent and super friendly. This restaurant with its pleasant ambience is a culinary enrichment for Recklinghausen and definitely recommended.

Our last visit there was not very pleasant. When we entered we stood around for about 10 minutes because no one greeted us and assigned us a table. The boss was rude and clumsy when serving. The rest of the young staff, however, were noticeably nice. That's why we get the two stars for service. The main course was not served until 45 minutes after the soup. And that's probably just because we complained. The food could be ordered in different spiciness variations. This information was apparently lost in one of our two dishes. The next day we both had diarrhea and stomach problems. Conclusion: We won't be visiting this restaurant anytime soon, even though the soups are really excellent.

Beautiful decor, fast service and really tasty, fresh food

We used to like going to the Thai restaurant in Haltern. We probably missed that there is such a great restaurant in Recklinghausen. We had 4 different dishes and everything tasted very good. Great selection for vegetarians too. Great ambience and friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

Very good Thai food! Since our Thai restaurant in Haltern is unfortunately closed, we were looking for a new favorite restaurant! Now we have found it! We'll definitely be back! Sate skewers and red curry, fantastic.

Unfortunately, for the second time in a row, food was not delivered to the table as ordered and online orders are processed like customer orders on site, i.e. depending on which order is placed first, it will also be processed chronologically. Shouldn't the guests have the process here? This meant we had to wait a very long time. Otherwise, separate processing would be recommended. The taste and ambience are still very good, but I won't visit again for now. In addition, the toilets were definitely not clean

The service is underground! Very long waiting times 1h 45min. Waiters (supposedly none of them responsible for the area) were very, very inattentive. Other guests also complained. The food was tasty but too expensive for the portions. The atmosphere is cozy.

Very very tasty food. We had menu selections 101 and 106.3 different foods, which were really delicious and will definitely fill you up. I chose the Chardonnay, which was also delicious. Highly recommended!!!

Were there for the first time and we liked it. The starter plate and the dish with three variations gave us a first insight into Thai cuisine. We chose something slightly spicy, which was completely sufficient. I wouldn't choose the two subsequent levels of spiciness variations and I tolerate the hot lion mustard very well.

We, as big Thailand fans, were here for the first time today. And first of all: We cannot understand the good reviews. Above all, the service was subpar. We had to wait 20 minutes just to order a drink. The food had nothing of Thailand at all. Hardly any spices, no spiciness, everything totally bland and boring. We were really disappointed

Very very pleasant, atmosphere and food very tasty. Well, we had to wait a little longer for our first drink. Appetizer was rather there. You apologized and it was fine. But no deduction for that. At Dreierrlei you have three “smaller” dishes so you can simply try more. Very nicely prepared. I was wary of the spiciness. I thought savory should be enough the first time. Don't do it if you like spicy food. So choose at least the 2nd level. Gladly again!

Super nicely furnished, spacious and well-equipped restaurant with upscale Thai cuisine and a huge selection from all parts of Thailand. The ability to combine 3 dishes in particular sets it apart from other Thai restaurants. The food looks fresh, colorful and delicious. They were also very delicious in taste. Unfortunately, the service staff couldn't convince us on this visit. No glasses for the drinks, just 2 plates for 4 guests. Only 2 cutlery for 4 guests etc. Some of the starters only came with the main course and unfortunately this time they were not convincing in terms of taste, they were seasoned tastelessly, and the vegetables and starter salads mostly only consisted of thick and raw onions. Add a little pepper and some carrots. It's a shame, we probably won't be traveling from Essen again. Photo 3 shows the onions alone from the cucumber salad. There was nothing missing in the washrooms, they are in a condition commensurate with their age. The corners and doors could use a detailed cleaning and the toilet a new toilet seat, but scratches at least tell me that they are cleaned regularly.

Jedes kleine Detail der Räumlichkeiten erweckt den Anschein man wäre in Thailand. Abgesehen von dem wundervollen Interieur lädt aber auch die Terrasse dazu ein sich zu entspannen und das wirklich göttliche Essen zu genießen. Grade mit mehreren Personen lohnt sich ein Besuch um die kulinarische Vielfalt Thailands, die hier sehr gut repräsentiert wird, erleben zu können.

We were here again with friends. The food was again simply delicious and exceeded all of our expectations. There is still a lot to choose from and the dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and Thai-style. All in all, it was another fantastic dining experience and I can highly recommend this restaurant. However, it would be desirable for the different levels of spiciness to be explained again.
