Very good food, including vegetarian/vegan dishes. However, the store is not particularly large, so it is strongly recommended to reserve in advance.

Durch Zufall sind wir auf das Ba Bao gestoßen, da unser eigentliches Ziel in der Nähe unerwartet geschlossen hatte. Die Inneneinrichtung ist heimelig und selbstgemacht. Mittlerweile etwas abgenutzt, aber mit Charme. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aber überhaupt nicht aufdringlich. Die selbstgemachten Limonaden sind lecker und eine Empfehlung wert. Wir hatten als Vorspeisen Wantan und Hanoi Rolls und als Hauptgang Ginger-Chili Beef und Mango Duck. Alle Speisen waren frisch, überaus schmackhaft, frisches Gemüse, komplett selbstgemacht und hübsch angerichtet. Wenn man bedenkt, dass wir für Limonaden, Vorspeisen und Hauptgang pro Person nur ca 26€ bezahlt haben, ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis mehr als gewährt. Ein Geheimtipp würde ich sagen und würde beim nächsten Mainzbesuch gerne wiederkommen :)

Very friendly service and good food. I've eaten the vegan curry with tofu here several times and the homemade lemonade is also delicious. If you wish, you can also get the food extra spicy with fresh chilies.

What a nice place! Such lovely people who will change a dish to accommodate allergies or special wishes and a really good menu with food to match, both in quality and presentation. Standout: Deep fried avocado slices as a starter. Stunning. Very good value for money. And when we said "Auf Wiedersehen", we meant it.

It is a small restaurant and unfortunately has very uncomfortable stools without backrests. The service is really very friendly. I thought the food was good, but not that special. Unfortunately they use cream where I would prefer coconut milk. But there are many good vegan alternatives.

If you like Vietnamese food, you should definitely stop by Ba Bao on Gaustraße. The food is really delicious! The atmosphere inside is cozy and really nicely decorated. There is also a lunch menu with great dishes. Clear recommendation and I'm sure it won't be the last time there. 🍽️ Food First about the drinks: We had the two lemonades from the lunch menu. Unfortunately these weren't that good and were too sour for both of us. Although my companion really likes sour drinks with lime, it was still too sour. No recommendation for this. It's better to use the “normal” homemade lemonades. The food was super delicious! We had the pepper beef and the Bun Bo noodle bowl. The meat in both dishes was very tender and plentiful. The salad tasted fresh and delicious, even the individual components themselves (cucumber and carrot, for example) were delicious. The rice and noodles tasted good. Our special requests (without onions) were taken into account. The only complaint is the amount of sauce in the noodle bowl, which is why the noodles quickly became soggy. But if you eat faster, you don't have this problem. Above all, the portions are absolutely sufficient to keep you full for a long time. The price/performance ratio is definitely right! We couldn't manage a starter or dessert. Unfortunately. 🖼️ Ambiance Beautiful place. Very stylishly furnished. The seats were very comfortable. Craziness. Price-performance 1a. It's been a long time since I've eaten something so tasty. We ordered lots of little things. Everything was delicious. More than delicious! The beef in pepper leaves is out of this world. There is also this enormous friendliness. I hope word of this restaurant continues to spread. We will be back!!! Update: Suddenly card payments are no longer possible... regression. Too bad.

We came across this little gem by chance. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the owners made a lot of effort to accommodate us nicely. Great, extensive and authentic menu - and the food tastes great. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back ☺️

Small intimate place. Drinks are delicious I had a lime mint sparkling drink. Food was incredible i had the chicken curry and the chilli beef (we got it without rice) It wasn't heavy just right. It is CASH ONLY though I had to run out and get money to pay. So bring cash!

Ein kleiner Laden in der Gaustraße der früher nur ToGo angeboten hat. Heute haben Sie ein paar Plätze im Innenraum. Hier kann man kuschelig sitzen. Das Essen ist sehr gut und mit dem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmig. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.

This is a Vietnamese fusion restaurant which has nice decoration and convenient location. Food quality is about average ~ service is slow ( only one waiter at lunch time) ~ a glass of hot water costs 2 euros 😱~

Auf keinen Fall werde ich zu sehr loben, denn am Ende will ich was essen und bekomme keinen Platz mehr.

Wirklich sehr sehr gut und ist eigentlich 5 Sterne wert ich muss aber 1 Stern abziehen, da die Preise wirklich vergleichsweise etwas zu hoch sind. Unabhängig davon, ob alles teurer wird. Aber wenn man zu 2 - 2 Gerichte zum abholen bestellt zahlt man meist über 30 Euro und das finde ich schon etwas viel. Dennoch danke für leckere, authentische, vietnamesische Küche. Ach und die Frühlingsrollen ebenso super lecker, aber auch hier sind 2 für knapp 5 Euro doch etwas viel. 🤍

Das Gericht mit Ente ist leider nur mittelmäßig. Das Fleisch sehr trocken und kein großer Genuss. Für den Preis hatte ich etwas anderes erwartet

Pho war gut, der Reisnudelsalat auch. Der Laden hat eher einen Imbiss Charakter, dafür allerdings recht teuer.

Das Ba Bao ist nur ein kleines, sehr schlichtes Restaurant mit wenigen Tischen und leider ohne Terrasse. Es gibt dort auch keinen Alkohol. Großgeschrieben ist hier vor allem Liefer- und Abholservice. Das Ba Bao verfügt über eine große Speisenauswahl. Was wir dort von einem sehr netten Service geboten bekamen, war ausgezeichnet.
