A very nice and cozy restaurant in Munich. The service was unique and very commendable. The prices are slightly higher but they are justified for the location so centrally. The food is extremely tasty and the portions are also very large.

Ate very good sashimi and quinoa salad.

It was a bit too loud for me but everything else was great and I would give more than 5 stars for the food

Great food and friendly service. Interesting menu. Desserts are a a piece of art. Atmosphere is quite pleasant. Two negative comments: 1- we tried two different fried dishes. While the dish is super tasty, the batter is too thick and tough it is sometimes hard to identify the type of meat under the batter. The dish still wins but the batter definitely takes away from it. 2- we were reminded too many times that our reservation duration is two hours only. While we appreciate it is a busy spot and they want to be consistent for all clients, at some point it just becomes plainly rude or unwelcoming. The information is clearly stated during reservation, then mentioned again in the confirmation, then again at reconfirmation one day in advance, then again at the door upon arrival and once more already after we paid our bill. This just seems excessive and unnecessary and this policy leaves staff and clients in awkward positions.

The food was excellent, but the portions were a bit tight and the price was slightly overpriced. The service, however, was excellent.

My favorite restaurant in Munich. Amazing location, super nice service, great food. And all of this in a noble/stylish but cozy atmosphere. Not exactly cheap, but it was always worth it to me.

Location, location, location! This is really great and the atmosphere is very nice, inside and out. However, that is what you pay for in the first place. The food is visually appealing, the taste is average, but it's almost surprisingly good for such an "Instagram restaurant" where the look is the main focus. The service is also okay, not exceptional, both positive and negative. I recommend the place for a few drinks on the terrace in a nice atmosphere and maybe a small snack. But not for a real dinner.

One of the best Japanies restaurants in have ever been. The food taste and quality is superb. I have tried the papaya salad and the shrimp tempura and other things and all was excellent.

We were there for the first time last night. The waiter and the woman at reception were very, very nice and friendly. The ambience was really great. We only ordered drinks, but they were all great. Totally recommended 👌

It is very delicious and I recommend trying it. The food is fantastic. We ordered Chinese rice with chicken and it was delicious. All the dishes were considered beautiful and their service was delicious.

Food and drinks were great. Service was slow. Very slow. To get our first glass of water took an hour. Ambience is great. Interiors are stunning and toilets are clean.

Bored, somewhat annoyed service. The ribs and sushi were very good. But this time you could forget about the main courses. Way too salty, everything tasted and smelled like fish sauce, the CRISPY tofu was limp, the broccoli was limp. The reference to this was only answered with a nod 🤷🏻‍♂️ We won't be returning next year. Very unfortunate.

Service was disorganised, impersonal and not particularly friendly. “Sticky” comes to mind when I think of the atmosphere, the place didn’t feel particularly clean and atmosphere wasn’t cozy. Dirty paper towels all over the bathroom floor the whole time we were there shows lack of attention to detail. The food was mediocre but acceptable, however it was overpriced for the quality level and other factors mentioned above. My conclusion : The place has potential but needs management change.

Nice restaurant but we waited 45 minutes for two bowls. According to the waitress the kitchen was overwhelmed, but all the tables that arrived after us were served before us. No action on the bill was made. Bad experience

The food was tasty, although a bit sparse in quantity. The rice bowl was tiny. The service staff were polite and courteous. Our table was chosen suboptimally by the staff. This tilted and was a two-man table that had to serve three people. This led to my place being placed in the decorative planting without further ado. With annoying branches in the nod, a relaxed atmosphere could hardly be created. I was hoping for more.

We ate there today and service took forever. Starter pretty ok, grilled chicken cold, bowl with tofu greasy, price/performance not appropriate.

The restaurant is very centrally located and we liked the ambience. The food was okay, although in our opinion overpriced. With 2x glasses of wine, 1x cocktail and 6 cold/warm starters we were already at €160. Our highlight was the shrimp tempura; our lowlight the 2 summer rolls with beef fillet which you had to look for for over 21€ (!)

We were here for lunch during the week. The starter came after just 5 minutes. Unfortunately, after 40 more minutes the main course still wasn't there. Absolutely incomprehensible and really disgraceful as we ended up not getting anything to eat as our lunch break was over. That's why we wouldn't come back again.

Good food but the floor manager who worked evening of 31 July 2024 (a Japanese young man) was so rude he literally kicked us from our table with a piece of desert still chewing in the mouth because the next guests came and we were 15 min late... And the place had three free tables at that point! He ruined my experience of this otherwise nice place. He definitely needs to learn what hospitality means. Really pity!

Yesterday after the opera we had the perfect end to a wonderful day here. Although many people crowded into the gallery at once, the service remained friendly and relaxed. The Mai Tai tastes excellent here. I loved my sashimi salad. Lots of Asian herbs and a delicious miso marinade combined with the freshest fish to create a harmonious taste experience. The view of the State Opera was the icing on the cake.

I always enjoy coming here, fantastic food and great staff.

Price performance is not right for a carafe of tap water 7.90 euros is not intended for business purposes but is guest unfriendly and not recommended, especially in the very high price range

In the Azuki you can sit very nicely outside or inside. The ambience is really very nice. I can only warmly recommend the sushi for eating. But most of the other skewers are also very tasty. So definitely worth a visit.

The location of the restaurant is excellent, the service is terrible. The service is very slow and careless, it looks like the waiters are working for the first day. They mixed up the sauce: despite the request to bring teriyaki, they brought it spicy. The food is not bad, the cocktails are nice, but even for Munich the prices are too high.

Looks absolutely magnificent from the inside, just as iconic as the terrace outside is. The only drawback were the cigar smokers. Even though we were sitting far away, the smoke reached us. :( The food was excellent. I didn't like the sake cocktails.

I recently had dinner here with my wife. The quality of the food was very good. However, I have to say that for the price you can offer a slightly larger portion. The service was top notch from start to finish. It's difficult to rate the ambience, but it would definitely be 5 out of 5 stars. Outside the location is good but right on the street, so there is always a certain noise level.

My personal impression was actually not an exciting one... Of course the location and the location directly in front of the State Opera are great, but for the price the service and especially the kitchen could be much faster. You don't have that long of a break at lunchtime. Waiting almost 40 minutes for a papaya salad is annoying. And when it finally arrived I was a bit disappointed with the taste. Good but nothing exceptional except that this one costs twice as much as any other decent Vietnamese restaurant in Munich. So it wasn't an experience for me, unfortunately

Although the food was good, the entire experience was utterly ruined by the appalling service. To begin with, the waitstaff was shockingly unaccommodating when I requested a simple dietary adjustment to the lunch menu. I asked to substitute what would have been 3 pieces of raw fish with a vegetable, which should have been a straightforward switch. The waiter begrudgingly agreed to check with the kitchen only after I insisted multiple times, displaying a clear lack of willingness to help. When it came time to pay, the situation deteriorated further. The waitress announced the total and stood there in uncomfortable silence for about 15-20 seconds before rudely demanding to know why there was no tip. I explained my negative experience with the raw fish issue, expecting some understanding or an apology. Instead, she responded with a condescending remark about it being a sushi restaurant, delivered with a smug sneer. The poor service overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable meal. I will not be returning and CANNOT, in good conscience, recommend it to anyone who values decent customer service.

Overpriced restaurant because of the beautiful location, the Asian (probably Vietnamese) waitress is not a pleasant person and of course does not offer friendly service.

Good variety of Asian foods and very good quality. Young lady on front reception was friendly and helpful. Shame the waiting staff were not. Our waitress was unsmiling, brusque and unapologetic when she made mistakes. We had to ask for menus, ask to order, etc. Not sure the terrace seating is that great: you are overlooking a main street and big pavement. There are better options elsewhere.

Overall an outstanding experience - I highly recommend this restaurant!

Sorry, but completely overrated. The service takes forever to pick up the drinks and the dishes are simply overpriced. 30€ for a curry with dry chicken is just too expensive. 15€ would have been more than fair, especially since the portion wasn't very big!

Very high quality food in a unique atmosphere. By far one of the best restaurants in the city. The service is always attentive and friendly.

When I thought of Munich, I didn’t generally think of it’s oriental cuisine options. Boy has that now changed! A sushimi offering that transported me directly to Tokyo and left me saying Sayonara! Don’t skip on the miso to start with. Some of my friends find it bland in other Japanese restaurants but Azuki not only changed their thoughts on Miso, but also their mindset and understanding of Japanese food and culture. A culinary pleasure!

Now it's time: gotta update this. Drop by spontaneously and get a seat on the beautiful terrace with a view of the National Theater at 5 p.m. Service impeccable, friendly, accommodating. I had a small appetizer and a bowl (which is actually only available until 5:00 p.m., but was also made for me at 5:15 p.m.). Food was really good. Ambience very nice. Thank you! - - - I would have liked to have given more stars here because the staff were very friendly and the restaurant is sophisticatedly designed and in a great location. But unfortunately a few things didn't fit. We were here for a business lunch, had made a reservation and were on time. There wasn't much going on when we arrived. Everything dragged on quite a bit. The two starters came relatively quickly (two types of dumplings), were of good quality, but the portions were a bit small. But it took half an eternity before the main course (udon noodles with tofu and wok vegetables from the lunch menu). Both neighboring tables, with guests who had come after us, were presented with their main courses earlier. Unfortunately, the main courses were also relatively small and tasted rather average. For the ambitious prices you simply expect more. Nevertheless, I'm giving it three stars because I can't judge the entire restaurant based on this one lunchtime experience. I couldn't try the sushi either. At least visually it looked very good. Maybe I'll try my luck for dinner next time. Or in summer, when you can sit beautifully on the terrace.

We visited the Azuki Restaurant before our ballet visit. We sat down for coffee and cake. The arrangement of the sakura cake was beautiful. The taste was very tasty, but visually it was a feast for the eyes. The service was nice, polite and accommodating. We just had problems finding a good spot at first.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food tastes excellent and the ambience is appealing. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.

Beautiful place, really taken care of in every detail. Very high quality cellar. Excellent food and presentation. Friendly and professional service, very helpful. Truly highly recommended, for an evening as a couple or a group of work colleagues or friends.

Not recommended to eat out. Staff was really strange and €33 for 9 chicken nuggets is really too much. Even a 0.75ml bottle that you can buy from Rewe for €1.50 costs an astonishing €7.90, very bad for the price a massive waste of money

Very expensive but also very boring sushi without any character, not bad but very very bland and average. Even the wine was bland and watery. Definitely not worth the completely insane price. Pretty disappointing.

Very nice, large restaurant with a very nice bar area with an outside terrace with a view of the opera on Maximilian Straße at Josefsplatz. The food and drinks menu is very good. The service was very friendly and professional. The ambience was very excellently decorated with the high ceilings and the open kitchen. Is currently the best Asian-Fusion restaurant in Munich. With a prime location in Munich and a great menu, Azuki leaves nothing to be desired. From sushi to wok dishes to fish and meat, everything is beautifully prepared and tastes fantastic. Prices are high depending on the location and interior, but it's still worth it. The service is very attentive and open to all requests. The tables could be a little more spaced apart, otherwise you can look into your neighbor's plates, but the restaurant itself is simply very nicely designed. We'd love to come back.

We really liked it! Very cool atmosphere and since the weather was good, almost all guests sat outside, so we had heavenly peace inside. Very attractively prepared dishes, which we really enjoyed. Good selection of sake, which we enjoyed trying. Service attentive and always concerned about our well-being. Always happy to come here.

Amazing food meets great service here. I have been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, both times food was great. Please reserve early and note that as the restaurant is just opposite the opera, there is no nearby street parking ( or very difficult to get one)

We had a wonderful dining experience at a high-end Japanese restaurant in Munich a while back. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the fresh and delicious sashimi variation. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and perfect for sharing during our reunion dinner. The restaurant offered a wide variety of food options, including not only cold plates like sushi and sashimi but also warm dishes like dumplings, wok, curry, and grilled options. The service we received was outstanding, and the decor was a tasteful blend of Asian and contemporary styles. We loved every aspect of the restaurant and highly recommend it to others.

Unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations. The staff was super nice, but the quality of the food was nothing special and not really worth the price compared to many other similar restaurants in Munich. A pity.
