We've eaten here before; the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice too. Today we had a reservation for 5:00, but at 5:30 p.m. the place was still closed, even though it said online that it was open. That's unacceptable!

The "time out" and especially the team are AMAZING. I was able to celebrate my milestone birthday here – and it was even more amazing than I could have imagined! The diverse tapas are absolutely fantastic (!), and the team really gave their all to make this day unforgettable! A huge thank you to you all!

Perfect location. Magical food! We were there for an Iberico special (5-course menu). It was simply fantastic. And to top it all off, there's a fantastic team behind it all. We felt truly well looked after during the four hours we were there. We'll definitely be back! 👌🏻💪🏻

For the first time in a long time, we stopped by the Spanish restaurant. The service and the welcome were friendly, warm, and very nice. The selection of tapas was simply fantastic, we thought that was wonderful. The beer was nice and cold. The wine was very good, and the advice was exceptionally good. So began an evening with many delicacies of the finest quality. So all we can say is... and we have nothing to complain about, ...keep up the good work and make many more people happy. We'll be back no question because we have nothing to complain about. You two are an asset to Waltrop.

We love going to "Auszeit" and are impressed not only by the excellent cuisine, but also by the very attentive and friendly staff. The ambiance is excellent, and guests feel very comfortable. We were always satisfied with our chosen dishes. The menu includes vegetarian dishes, as well as meat and fish dishes. The aioli is a definite recommendation.

This restaurant deserves full marks! Starting with a hassle-free reservation, the friendly welcome and consistently excellent service continued. Everyone in our group was able to find and enjoy their favorite dishes on the menu. Excellently prepared, in typical tapas quantities, and served simultaneously. The ambiance and subtle background music also added to the evening's appeal. Special mention should also be made of the cleanliness, including the amenities in the restrooms, which were excellent all around. The price was also impressive, appropriate for the (positive) service provided. Conclusion: We'll be happy to come back!

Great restaurant with a very nice ambiance. We had a variety of tapas, all of which were delicious. The service was very attentive. To avoid overcrowding, empty bowls were always cleared quickly. We will definitely be back, as there are still many things on the menu that we haven't tried yet. A definite recommendation for anyone who enjoys Spanish cuisine.

Food is good, lots of small different dishes. The prices are high. Ambiance is friendly. Service was very nice, but you have to wait a little longer for drinks to be replenished, which could be improved.

We went to the menu carousel at Auszeit, both the vegetarian and the "normal" menu were great, the wines matched the food perfectly, and the service was first class. Only the waiting time for dessert was too long. Overall recommended.

Update January 2025: I have to revise my review! The Tapas Bar has had a new owner for some time and we gave it another try and were not disappointed!! The service has improved significantly! We were warmly welcomed and served very attentively, friendly and politely throughout the evening. We really liked it, so now we have full stars! I've eaten there twice now and unfortunately I can only give it three stars. The atmosphere is really great and cozy. The food is delicious, but the selection is rather small for a tapas bar. The prices are also quite high for the small portions. The service staff is friendly, but often not very attentive and seems a bit disorganized. Sometimes dishes were forgotten or you have to wait a long time before you get the chance to order something. Both times different things were already out. In my opinion, there are still a few things we can work on so that it really becomes a place that's worth going to. Other tapas bars in the area can and do offer better and more.

We were there with a large group of over 20 people, and it was highly recommended. We pre-ordered the food, and there were incredibly delicious starters, a choice of main courses, and a typical Spanish dessert. The atmosphere is fantastic; they've brought out the best in the house. The service was very friendly; unfortunately, one of the servers was ill, so we had to wait a bit for drinks here and there. You can tell from the dishes that a Spanish professional puts heart and soul into the cooking. Truly fantastic and highly recommended! We will definitely be back.

I have already gotten to know many Spanish restaurants. This one is different. This one beats them all. The cuisine is absolutely outstanding. This kitchen works perfectly with the cooking temperature. This cuisine gets so much more out of simple dishes such as chipirones. Whether grilled or fried. Try this dish and you will taste the concept of the cuisine. All plates are created so lovingly. It is simply a pleasure to dine here.

A catastrophic evening and we also had guests. Ordering food went quickly, everything else took forever, and it was only partially delivered and not at all. The kitchen did not have the ordered dishes and was not informed a 'no go', bill was the only thing that went quickly and no accommodation whatsoever. We'll never come back here. Cannot recommend it. It was supposed to be a nice evening and we were annoyed for 2.5 hours.

Food was super delicious. A court came too late. When we asked, we were told that a receipt had fallen down and that our order would be delivered quickly. The apology verbally and in the form of bread chips and an aperitif on the house was more than nice. I do have one small comment, however. Please stop being so stingy with the bread. For a large starter plate for 4 people, only 5 thin slices of bread is pretty poor. In general, a bread basket at the table for the delicacies with sauce would be desirable and really good service, especially since the food overall is at a good price. Every time we are absolutely thrilled with our visit during the break. The food is super tasty and fresh, you won't find convenience here. The chicken skewer in the brandy sauce is a poem. The entire menu is appealing and far away from the run-of-the-mill tapas offerings of other locations. The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the food is brought to the table and presented in a pleasant rhythm. In addition, a lot of effort was put into the interior design. We were taking a break with friends today and were looking forward to a lovely evening! My wife has visited the restaurant several times and I was only there for the second time. I don't know exactly what went wrong, but if one person is the only person waiting 2 hours for the food they ordered and doesn't get anything after asking three times, then something is definitely wrong. The subsequent orders also took a good 45 minutes. When the kitchen actually signaled to serve the food I had ordered, my wife was no longer hungry and was extremely disappointed!!! The food itself and the wine were good, but here the service has to respond to whoever messed it up. Furthermore, the restaurant was not fully occupied. Conclusion: The food is good and the ambience is good, but the service has a lot of room for improvement. Someone in charge of the bar could also comment here and not try to save the situation with a shot of schnapps. What a shame!!!!!!!

Tapas are really tasty, unfortunately we had to wait 2 hours for our order and then canceled it. It's a shame, great tapas, really good. However, there seems to be a communication problem between the kitchen and the rest...improve your service, then things will go in the right direction!!!!

On my first visit the food was really good, unfortunately the service was very unmotivated and gave us the feeling of being a nuisance. The younger employees seemed quite motivated, only the older one, who constantly interfered with her colleagues, was very unfriendly. Tried it again after a long time and now the food isn't as good anymore. Considering the prices are not so low, there are worlds better tapas bars with friendly service in the region.

After we were guests for the first time at the beginning of June, three more visits have followed. The tapas came quickly and completely. We couldn't find any convenience. The taste is very delicate and not drowned in garlic and oil. My personal favorites were the chorizo ​​with red wine reduction and the chicken skewer with brandy-lemon sauce. Compared to the quality, the prices are absolutely reasonable. During a visit the service could have been a little more attentive. In any case, full overall points from us.

Very tasty food, great ambience and very friendly staff. I've been there several times now and it always tastes great. The fact that I keep going there shows that I'm basically very satisfied. But please! There is no structure in the service. The ladies in service do their best, that's obvious. But it is very chaotic in terms of operation. Sometimes food & drinks arrive very late, only after asking, or the order is taken several times and then doesn't come... At some point it gets annoying.

The four of us spent a great evening here. Everyone ordered tapas wildly from the menu. And from the starter plate to the Creme Catalan, we were provided with high-quality delicacies. A matching Rioja. Great. We would recommend the Pimentos de Padron, chicken skewers with brandy sauce and of course the eggplant fries. We'd love to come back!

However, you could think again about the price performance 🙈🙈🙈 What I didn't like was that the tapas we ordered were unfortunately not served at the same time. We simply missed sharing the dishes. All in all, a lovely and delicious evening. The only thing we would complain about would be the chips fried in olive oil. We didn't understand that because it was like normal chips out of the bag and we assumed they were freshly fried potato chips. The anchovies were particularly positive because the heads were removed before they were fried. The Hierbas (schnapps) at the end was very tasty and was on the house and a positive surprise. Tried out the Spaniard in Waltrop today. Ambience is quite appealing and actually the only positive point. The staff is inattentive when it comes to drinks, for example. The whole thing also seemed very uncoordinated, dishes were forgotten to be brought out of the kitchen, and three main courses were not brought to the table at the same time but very far apart. Doesn't work at all. The majority of them weren't priced right either. 3 small bowls of aioli with 5 slices of bread for just under €12 is already well covered. The fried anchovies were more soggy than fried, and the number of them didn't justify the price. Overall, I left €120 there and didn't really get full. Other restaurants can do this better, even with the corresponding quality. For me and my companions, the conclusion is very clear: going to Waltrop is not worth it.

Neue Tapas-Bar in Waltrop. Sehr schöne Lage im Zentrum. Die Tapas sind geschmacklich hervorragend und perfekt angerichtet. Auch eine vielversprechende Weinkarte und Aperitifs werden angeboten. Das Ambiente ist stylisch sehr schön und einladend. Der Service lediglich ist sehr ausbaufähig. Wir mussten förmlich betteln, damit wir Getränke bekommen. Das Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis ist gut. Wir kommen her wieder. Klare Empfehlung.
