By far the best oysters I’ve ever tried! It’s a perfect stop after a shopping spree in KaDeWe. I always get the Gillardeau oysters there🦪

Super Service, super Environment

Staff is extremely friendly and the selection of the very very fresh seafoods - especially the oysters, of course - is immaculate! Love coming here on a Friday after work to enjoy oysters and a glass of Chablis or Champagne.

As always, a fantastic taste experience up here on the 6th floor of KaDeWe! We'll be back!

As tourists, we wanted to eat oysters at KaDeWe. Despite wearing "normal street clothes" we were served very well and the chefs were very friendly. The oysters were really tasty. Price performance was right.

The oyster bar at Kadewe is unique. I've known the team since I was there for the first time in 2013 - everyone, especially Sven, works with an unmistakable passion and looks after you lovingly and professionally at the same time. An experience in a class of its own.

Tried oysters here for the first time ever. At first I felt like a bull in a china shop, but I have to say that the atmosphere is very down-to-earth and you quickly feel at home. Even if you're an obvious tourist and not a member of "high society", you'll receive polite and courteous service here. Great experience!

As a customer who visited the oyster bar as a student, you can certainly get the impression that things are slowly improving again after the completely messed up renovation. The oysters were delicious, the plaice was very good, and there was picpoul too. Mario, as a bright spot in the service, made the stay a positive experience.

Star level in the department store. You don't find that too often. First-class oysters, perfectly prepared. The cod ceviche is pleasantly spicy, and the beef tartare with oyster topping is also impressive. The wakamé salad with seared yellowfin tuna was to die for.

It's always a little highlight and you can treat yourself to something. Very nice and unobtrusive service. The oysters were excellent. Simply great.

Fresh sea food Visited in November 2023

I really wonder why people line up here to get a seat. The quality of the food during our visit was far below expectations. I've never eaten such a bad Civiche before. The fish quality was bottom drawer and the taste was masked by a huge amount of spiciness. Unfortunately, the service and cleanliness did not match the prices. Absolutely no recommendation!

Been here a thousand times. I love it. The oysters are great, you get good advice from the staff, and the atmosphere is lively and bustling. The oil with the bread is great and the onion vinaigrette with the oysters is also a delight. It's a shame that the cheese pumpernickel breads are no longer available. Hopefully the KaDeWe and oyster bar will stay as it is!

They're nice! You would like to think of KaDeWe, right at the top, oysters, champagne, appropriate clientele and then the hosts have to be like that too, right? I have to say, my assumptions were completely wrong. Even just before closing time, the last guests complaining, a lot of hustle and bustle, but still totally friendly and experienced. Without exception, every colleague was polite and courteous. The oyster tasted particularly good just before work and the champagne. I had the 6 Fines and a small selection of the other varieties. Recommendation? The Gillardeau oyster blew me away, slightly nutty, mineral, hints of seaweed and slight saltiness. Keep it up!

I've always wanted to try it! And so today I finally ordered six “Fines des Claires” and a glass of “Domaine serre picpool de pinet”! It was an interesting experience for a curious philistine like me, but it didn't mark a turning point in my diet. What I liked best was the service: down-to-earth Berlin boys who don't try to be more distinguished than the guest and give you very friendly advice. There's no chatter about it being a matter of taste, they say (of course only if you ask for advice!) plainly "Try this variety, it has the typical taste... and I would recommend this and that Recommend wine". Fortunately, the most expensive option is not recommended. All in all I left satisfied, but now I don't need it twice a week.

Great restaurant in KaDeWe for well-kept seafood, especially oysters of course 🦪. The food is top fresh and of high quality. Good wine completes the whole thing. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Always a happy place to go on every visit to Berlin. Highly recommended and guaranteed again and again!

Sehr schade! The service was unfriendly - our waiter seemed to be pouting and cracked neither a word nor a smile when we toasted happy birthday (with an overpriced bottle of Champagne) ... and the "manager" said that apparently we hadn't been back in years when we asked for pumpernickel / cheese to accompany our oysters... Plain white baguette, no butter... I recommend that the KaDeWe invest in a trip to France for their culinary team to see how oysters are served. Schade, dommage, too bad that an over 30 year tradition has come to an end for us.

Fresh products, attractively presented and explained by the service. The menu was manageable, but there is something for every fish lover. We initially chose the Pulpo, then a large oyster platter. Top quality and a beautiful, exclusive atmosphere. We will be back!

Considering that you spend a lot of money there, the atmosphere feels more like a cafeteria. According to the sign, the kitchen is open until 9:30 p.m. But at 9:10 p.m. the big cleaning begins and unpleasant smells of vinegar wafted over to our table, which we were still sitting with full plates. When we asked for a second helping of 6 oysters at 9:15 p.m., our wish was no longer fulfilled as everything had already been put away and clean. The food itself is excellent, the rest is still room for improvement

When we are in Berlin, the oyster bar at KADEWE is a mandatory visit. The oysters are fresh and taste very good👍. The employees are very friendly and helpful. You will receive excellent service. You can pay in cash or with card(s). We'll go there again next time we visit Berlin.

So really great location. The oysters taste extremely fresh. The ambience is also nice. However, I would definitely recommend a reservation for peak times.

Always an obligatory must when I am a guest in Berlin. The service is very courteous and friendly, but not intrusive! One star deducted because there were three components from the food and drink menu at our table. In my opinion, this shouldn't happen in such a high-priced establishment. We still had a very nice lunch with excellent food and drinks!

I wanted to eat there with 4 friends and the lady at the reception told me that I would have to be prepared for a longer wait. Since we weren't in a rush, that wasn't a problem; I also knew that it wasn't easy to accommodate 5 people. After waiting for more than 45 minutes, she came and explained that unfortunately she could no longer keep the seats that had become free (which we were actually supposed to get if two more guests had paid). I can understand if it's full and you can't get a seat. The fact that this only becomes apparent after three quarters of an hour shows the absolute incompetence of the staff. Unfortunately, the KDW is typical Berlin in this respect: big mouth, nothing behind it, but at least you can show it off on Insta.
