We ordered goulash...the meat needed to be cooked a little more...but the place is good

Warm beer and Bavarian sausage salad with tomatoes, peppers, and balsamic vinegar don't belong there—the mountain cheese was completely forgotten from the menu. Radio music instead of Bavarian music... oh well. Better to eat at the original in Munich! Or train the (quite friendly) staff at the main restaurant.

The service leaves much to be desired. Berliner Leber (a German for "Berliner Leber") has nothing to do with "Berliner Leber" (a German for "Berliner Leber"). If a mistake was made during cooking, that's just the way it was, but an apology would have been expected. Payment is not made at the table; guests must come to the table to pay.

Unfortunately, the response to the ordered dish was not appropriate. Instead of two roulades, I received one. When I inquired about it, I was told it was supposedly an oversized roulade, and also made of veal. I didn't receive this information until the meal was already served. As the plates were being cleared, I again pointed out the rather unusual fact to the waitress, who, however, seemed helpless. Ultimately, the situation could not be resolved to my satisfaction, which left an overall bland impression of the restaurant.

We didn’t eat here — this review is about the first impression. We arrived without a reservation and asked if a table for three was possible. From the start, the staff were rude. We were told (sharply) that only outside seating was available, but when we went outside there were no tables. When we asked again, we were rudely told we could only sit at a cocktail table and would need to fetch three chairs ourselves. At that point we left. I’ve lived in Germany for three years and I speak German — this wasn’t a misunderstanding, just plain bad service. We won’t come back and we don’t recommend it.

They didnt have pork knuckles due to a kitchen fire but oddly saw a few on people's tables. Food portion was great.

A lovely spot in Potsdam's Dutch Quarter. The food is hearty German cuisine. It has a small back garden, which is especially cozy in summer. There's also seating upstairs, although it's not always accessible due to staff shortages. The downstairs area is more comfortable anyway.

The food was delicious and the staff had everything under control despite the restaurant being very busy. When we walked in we were told that the food would take about an hour. We were prepared to wait but we were lucky that it only took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive. It was worth it; it was delicious. The staff were friendly and as already mentioned the place was very busy. Keep up the good work, if we're ever in the area again we'll be happy to come back.

The food is really good compared to other, especially larger, Augustiner beer gardens. The service could still be improved, but we would go back.

It was okay, but nothing special. Definitely not original. The goulash was very dry and sometimes tough. The Leberkäse (liver sausage) was good, but the fried potatoes could have been left in the pan a bit longer. The service was slow, but friendly nonetheless.

A small Bavarian gem in the heart of Potsdam's Dutch Quarter. Only the many smokers in the small courtyard are a bit annoying if you don't want to be smoked while eating; you have to sit at the front, facing the street. Those looking for a younger crowd can head to the Augustiner beer garden in Golm, where the food is also a bit cheaper.

Typical German food at reasonable prices. It has a lovely terrace, and the waitress was friendly and kind. She even tried to speak to us in Spanish. The place was quiet and well-located. Recommended.

I've visited Augustiner Restaurant three times over the past few months, and while the food consistently delivers on quality, the service experience has been disappointing each visit.The cuisine itself is well-prepared and enjoyable, though it does come at a premium price point. However, the service issues significantly derail from the overall dining experience. During my visits, including today (July 21st, 2035), I've encountered several concerning patterns: (1) Extremely long wait times for both ordering and receiving bills. (2) Staff appearing distracted, often smoking or engaging in personal conversations rather than attending to tables. (3) Unprofessional behavior including aggressive handling of menus and coasters. (4) Dismissive and curt responses when asking questions (5) Generally unwelcoming body language from service staff... These service issues have been consistent across multiple visits and with different staff members, suggesting this may be a training or management oversight rather than isolated incidents.The restaurant has potential given the food quality, but the service experience makes it difficult to recommend until these issues are addressed. Management attention to service standards would go a long way toward improving the overall dining experience.

A lovely and relatively new spot in Potsdam for Bavarian pub culture. Here you'll find everything an Augustiner heart desires. Good beer and Bavarian delicacies. Friendly service, too.

You can choose with peace of mind

Beautifully located Augustiner pub in the Dutch Quarter of Potsdam. The beer is beyond reproach; Augustiner tastes good in Brandenburg too. The food—we had a white sausage and a currywurst—was rather below average. The white sausage was quite okay, but the currywurst and its sauce weren't very tasty. The fries served with it were good. The conditions are such that you should dress in dirndls and lederhosen, which is certainly befitting of a Bavarian inn, but the staff seemed a bit "in costume." During our visit, a knuckle of pork and other Bavarian specialties were being consumed at the next table—the weather was a bit too warm for us. The guests were quite pleased and obviously satisfied with the quality offered.

While visiting Potsdam, we strolled through the streets in the evening. The pubs were already closed, but the landlord understood our thirst and poured us each a light beer♥️ He was our savior in a pint. The beer garden was super nice, and the restrooms were extremely clean and smelled wonderful. We'd love to come back.

The salad with chicken breast consisted of a handful of lettuce with a few pieces of chicken on top. All for €17.50. We spoke to the restaurant manager, who became extremely rude and said we should eat somewhere else next time. The colleague was also very rude. We did get a small salad allowance, but that didn't save the situation for us. The guests are being ripped off. We shouldn't support a place like this. There are many nice restaurants in the Dutch Quarter with friendly service and good value for money. This restaurant should be avoided!!!

Great ambiance and super friendly service. It's not too big, so the noise level is perfectly acceptable for a place of this size. Hearty food at a good price rounds out a visit here. We'll be back ;)

The food was okay, but the "Krustenbraten" (roasted pork) didn't live up to its name – the crust was soft and anything but crispy. What really bothered me, though, was that I simply wanted to politely ask if they also served roast beef – but they didn't respond. Instead of a simple answer, I was simply left standing there, as if I'd asked something completely unreasonable. The supposed boss/waitress seemed very arrogant and dismissive. Listening was obviously not her strong suit – you feel more brushed off than welcomed. It's a shame, because service is at least as important as the food. Next time, I'd rather go to the steakhouse next door – there, at least, I was taken seriously and served friendly.

After a long wait, we were finally able to order drinks. They could have given us advance notice...

The food is really delictious. The place nice. The service nice too, until you dare to ask something. Monosyllabic answers and very impolite body language. This is not the first time we go there: it became pretty much expensive.

Delicious food and nice restaurant but BEWARE RIP-OFF!!!

There was very little beef goulash, the meat was completely tough and gristly! The roast pork wasn't particularly crispy, but it was okay! Much of the food seemed to be pre-made! Service was okay, just a bit rushed! The place is actually quite nice, but they could do more with it!

The waitress was very kind to let us in a bit earlier because we arrived 20 minutes before opening time. We initially wanted to eat, but the menu was quite expensive. When we decided not to eat and just have a cup of tea, the pin machine was thrown in front of us when we paid and the waitress walked away, leaving us standing there alone to pay. There was no more tjuus to be paid.

ich gehe bei München-Reisen auch immer sehr gern ins Augustiner, und so fiel meine Wahl auch in Potsdam auf das Augustiner. Es gibt hier frisch vom Fass das helle Augustiner Lagerbier und Augustiner Edelstoff. Ich hatte ein Back-Hendl „Steirische Art“ und war sehr zufrieden. Es gibt eine Terrasse vor dem Lokal sowie einen gemütlichen Innenhof. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam.

The food was delicious, but the service was a bit inattentive. Perhaps because we were sitting in the back corner, but we still would have liked to order more drinks. So, that's just a minor gripe. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly.

The food and prices are okay, but it's questionable that you have to pay an extra €1 for ketchup/mayo with your fries. The chairs are uncomfortable over time. In other restaurants, you'll receive a much friendlier welcome, and not with the words "do you have a reservation?"

The food was also on our tables without much of a wait. Very tasty! It was a very nice evening! Thank you for the service. We would be happy to come back.

It does say Augustiner outside the shop and they do serve Augustiner. But if you think you can get real Bavarian dishes here, you're wrong. I don't know if the main branch in Munich knows what is sold as roast pork here. A roast is called a roast because it is roasted and not cooked in some kind of steamer. The meat is not a roast, the sauce that actually makes a roast pork was a ready-made sauce with no flavor. The dumplings were also ready-made. The Obatzten was also missing spices like salt and caraway. What a shame. With the right kitchen it would be great. Perhaps the staff should take a trip to the main branch on Landsbergerstrasse in Munich to try what a real roast pork tastes like.

The restaurant is not bad but they should improve the staff. I looked at the kitchen and it looks dirty. The waiter Vittorio is excellent, nice, friendly and knows how to recommend dishes. He always has an excellent personal appearance. The food is good, but could be better, especially the asparagus is not great and the hollandaise sauce is not the best. This restaurant has potential, it would be nice to improve. Another detail are the sauces, such as: B.; Ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise should not be loaded. You should leave at least two pieces of each on the table. It's the little details that make the difference. We love it there, we are locals and with a little magic this restaurant will be the best in Potsdam. 🥰🤗💛 Kind regards. Teresa.

I chose the view of the Kaiserbahnhof. Wow! The service staff - let's say - know what they are doing. Super friendly and sometimes a little robust. I like this, it goes perfectly with a beer garden. I would have thought the street would be too loud, but it isn't. After the sumptuous meal, we definitely recommend a walk in the Sanssouci Park next door. Calories have to be broken down. Okay, maybe I should have eaten a salad with lettuce leaves instead of the fatty roast pork. It was tasty, but a little dry for my taste. I ordered more sauce, great.

Today we went to the tulip festival in Postdam. At the end around 3:15 p.m. we wanted to eat at Augustiner Bräu and drink a delicious light beer. When we told the waiter what we wanted, we were politely told that this was not possible because there were no clean glasses. Food orders could also be accepted again in about half an hour at the earliest. How can a company like this run out of glasses for an event in Postdam in the afternoon? And apparently there were no plates for food. Has our catering industry in Germany become so run down that we can't even find staff to do the dishes? The management of the Augustiner Bräu in Potsdam is probably in demand!

This is not recommended at all. I have never been rejected so rudely and unkindly in my life. Free tables and we were turned away with the words no staff and that's what it says on the sign, you can see, while 2 ladies stood behind the counter and did something. The worst Augustinian ever.

Always a Bavarian delight. Great food, great beer, great ambience, nice service. And prices that aren't completely ridiculous. I always enjoy going there.

A rather quiet and pleasant Saturday afternoon. The pork knuckle was crispy and easy to handle. Very good! Next time I'll just have black bread with it (the meat is 2 pounds!) The friendly lady suggested wrapping everything. Good idea to offer that! The Bavarian cabbage was good with lots of caraway, which I rather enjoy. I can also recommend the Williams Christ pear brandy for digestion. And the Edelstoff beer is delicious. Last but not least, the espresso was surprisingly good.

If you want to enjoy home-style and Bavarian food in hip Potsdam, you've come to the right place. Nice atmosphere, great location in the Holländerviertel, outdoor seating facing the street and a cozy beer garden inside. You have to be aware that this is system catering - but the food is OK. ! Had various dishes from roast pork, pork cheeks, Viennese schnitzel to goulash. Everything is served quickly and hot. Side dishes such as red dumplings and white cabbage as well as the potato salad are also delicious. The service changed three times but it was ok. Prices like everywhere else in the area are high but affordable. Beer was tasty carbonated and also cold. Dessert also ok, good apple strudel and delicious quark dumplings with vanilla sauce. During peak times it is advisable to pre-order - which can be easily done (by phone). No parking spaces!

Mit einem Kumpel wollten wir noch etwas Süßes essen, nachdem wir durch das Holländische Viertel spaziert sind. Also sind wir hier rein - und haben es nicht bereut. Sehr guten Apfelstrudel und sehr gute Topfen-Knödel mit einer schönen Vanille-Sauce. Richtig lecker - da will ich beim nächsten Potsdam-Besuch auf jeden Fall nochmal hin.

Unfortunate. Food was cold and unappetizing. Back courtyard seating had some smells that were not conducive to eating. This place needs a lot of work and there are many good alternatives nearby.

Our birthday evening, which was actually planned to be relaxed, was significantly marred by freezing temperatures and a person who was extremely unfriendly. It was a birthday dinner for 10 people and unfortunately it was very disappointing. The room was cold and we ended up eating with blankets and jackets on. When we asked, there had been problems with the heating for years. Unfortunately, given the size of the room, a mini fan heater wasn't enough. But the waitress's snippy reply that she wasn't cold didn't really make things any better. Forgotten drinks and a forgotten meal made the evening even more complete. Unfortunately, as a guest you are always held responsible for this and receive snippy comments. But this is clearly the fault of the waitress. The food was more like that of a large canteen and rather disappointing for the prices! The conclusion for us and also our guests - not again! Unfortunately, because it had potential!

Absolutely unfriendly staff, some of whom also come across as arrogant. The whole guest room was cold, when we asked if we could turn on the heating, only it had been broken for years. After further asking if we could get blankets, we got them. Patty answers to questions asked. Conclusion: food was ok, restaurant workers are absolutely wrong for their job. I come from the catering industry myself. And that doesn't work at all.

Unfortunately, when we made the reservation, we forgot to tell us that there have been problems with the heating for years. All women had to sit with jackets and blankets. But to make things nice again, the service decided to simply behave in a disrespectful, attacking and unprofessional manner. The bottom line is absolutely disappointing across the board. The customer was portrayed as an idiot. Thanks for nothing but high prices.

Four of us ate here on Boxing Day and had made reservations in advance. The food for the kids was quite salty (puree and sauce), otherwise it tasted quite good. Service was friendly and we would come again
