Moderate prices, Bavarian flair!

Simply great, typically Bavarian food with large portions. very good change from the constant Italian/Asian/Greek etc. And extremely friendly staff.

Today we went to the Augustiner in Potsdam because I wanted to eat real Bavarian food again. Roast pork with crust. Well, we sat nicely, but didn't eat that well. The piece of roast pork was very good but the sauce was run-of-the-mill mush and the dumplings were mush from a department store bag. It's a shame, I know the Augustiner in Munich, but you probably wouldn't be able to offer this dish to a real Bavarian in Potsdam.

Nice beer garden to relax in the inner courtyard, we felt comfortable and will come back.

They have been guests in the small Bavarian embassy in the heart of the Prussian state capital for a long time. Today we once again had a delicious knuckle that is absolutely unrivaled in our latitudes. The staff is on their toes and creates a family atmosphere. We'd love to come back, as we have so often. Thanks to the team.

Excelente opción para comer en el Barrio Holandés. Disponen de terraza a la calle y un patio interior muy agradable. Comida de estilo bávaro. Sabroso codillo, y bien de precio (unos 18 euros una pieza de un kilo, que agradece que se comparta). Y bastante bien de precio. Dos personas con un entrante cada uno, el codillo, dos cervezas y un refresco 50 €.

I find 4.2 as a rating very surprising, which is why I'm writing something here now. We were there in April last year and the food was perfect. The crowning glory was the dessert. Nougat dumplings that were so good on their own that you immediately wanted to go there again. So this restaurant should have at least a 4.7, even if 4.2 isn't bad.

The schnitzel wasn't bad, but I think there are better ones, so I took off one star. I think the atmosphere is nice.

We ate schnitzel. It may be expensive, but it was delicious. Also, many restaurants do not take reservations, but we found a very comfortable place here and the atmosphere was nice.

They refuse to take our order at 20: 50, even if it's written that the last order is 21:00. We came very tired from a trip to Berlin, with two kids. Very, very unpleasent..

Rustic and Bavarian in Potsdam. It's been a long time since I've had such delicious food and such nice service.

Not recommended. Customer service is non-existent in this place. Unfriendly to non-smokers. We went to this restaurant with high expectations, but it turned out to be a terrible experience. We waited by the door to ask someone for a table; waitresses walked by and ignored us so we walked up to a waitress at the bar and asked her for a table. She showed us the patio in the back of the restaurant, which is a nice area but the guests were smoking while eating (which for non-smokers is disgusting). We explained to the waitress that we preferred to sit inside because of the smokers, and also because all the tables were empty, she replied that there were only 3 waitresses working and they don’t serve inside. As we asked again if we could sit inside, she then in an annoyed tone told us: “okay, sit inside”. She came to get our orders with a rude, unfriendly and arrogant semblance. Every time we said “vielen Dank”, she didn’t answer anything. We had the feeling that she was doing us a huge favour. The food itself was good but it’s not worth if you have to be treated UNWELCOME. It’s important to say that we spoke German to her and all the staff. Even though we sat inside, all the windows were wide open, therefore, the smoke from the guests that were sitting outside, by the windows, were brought in with the wind. We didn’t dare to ask them to close the windows as it was 35 degrees Celsius inside. Finally, when the bill came, we were uncertain about the price for a drink. We politely asked the waitress to check (was a different waitress, not the same). She also made an annoyed face and full of attitude she went to the bar, picked up the menu, showed the price at the menu (without saying a thing), then she closed the menu abruptly and walked away without answer anything after we say Dankeschön. Our day had been pleasant until we entered this restaurant, as we were visiting Potsdam, but the good mood was completely destroyed thanks to the Augustiner’s staff.

Beautifully rustic decorated restaurant with a quiet courtyard and very friendly, fun staff. 🍻 We each drank a beer or non-alcoholic beer that we liked.

The service wasn't the best. Normally this wouldn't be so bad as long as the food tastes good. But unfortunately it wasn't very tasty either. The potatoes weren't cooked through yet, the sauerkraut was way too salty and the meat was just shaggy. When the waitress cleared away the half-filled plates, we weren't even asked if everything was okay or if we liked the food. The ambience, however, was very nice! While paying at the counter we were able to take a look into the kitchen... not so tasty. My recommendation is to simply mop the floor or keep the kitchen door closed! At the bottom of the rating form you are asked which food you can recommend: The juice spritzers were very tasty.

You can see here how poor service can influence a rating. Everything actually started well: the first drinks didn't take long, and so did the food. Everything's fine so far. And with the next drink order came the overwhelm: nothing came. We sat on dry land for 20 minutes. No one else from service came by to ask. The restaurant was simply understaffed.

Typical Bavarian restaurant with a clear menu, food was ok, service staff friendly. The ambience will be cozy if, in the future, the trash can with food leftovers is not driven through the dining room onto the street during opening hours (9:45 p.m.).

Classic Bavarian restaurant with typical dishes, friendly service, we enjoyed it, we'll be back.

Simply a culinary disaster! Beer is perfect though 👍🏻 There is no cooking here, just warming up. Our goulash was chewy like chewing gum!!! Explains that the goulash, salad, dumplings and other products have industrial origins. Anyone sitting in the courtyard can watch the “products” being transported to the kitchen. Our inedible goulash was not charged after a legitimate complaint.

I couldn't believe it but it was a really bad experience. I have to say now that I come from Upper Bavaria, south of Munich, and the bar is therefore pretty high. I went there with other people because we wanted to have a decent beer. The measurements were also completely ok and couldn't have been better. But the rest was an absolute disaster. Why don't you just take your employees to the Augustiner in Munich and see what it's like there? What you see in Potsdam has nothing to do with a Bavarian restaurant (except perhaps for the seating). No dirndl, not a word of dialect, no suitable music. I felt dialectically completely out of place there. But I was at least expecting suitable music and Bavarian coziness, but nothing was there. Well, at least the beer was great, Augustiner, you can't really go wrong. Overall it was a failure.

Very nice restaurant, very cozy beer garden. It was a great experience for our group. The waitresses were both very nice and accommodating (and despite our Bavarian dialect, they understood us to some extent😅). The food was also great, but a bit too expensive, I'm more used to it from home🥲. But all in all 5 stars, keep it up

We sat very comfortably at the back in the beer garden. The service is friendly and quick. However, the food is a little quicker... From ordering to serving it took almost exactly 4...minutes! The taste was okay, but unfortunately far from freshly cooked.

The Augustiner Potsdam is a Bavarian restaurant located in the city center, a few steps from the Nauen Gate. Nice quiet place, with a great back garden. Very attentive and friendly staff. Food was amazing and the portions were big. Traditional bavarian cuisine in modern setting. You can pay with card.

Very comfortable to linger for a long time. I just wanted to eat something quickly, but it turned into several hours. Of course I will come back.

We ate there as a group...sat nicely in the courtyard. The service was nice, attentive and quick. We had different dishes...roast pork, black pudding, sausage salad, pork cheeks, liver, roast beef and yeast dumplings with nougat...everyone was happy. We would love to come back here.

I don't understand the bad reviews as had a lovely meal here - the menu is meat heavy but you expect that in Germany. Service was fast and efficient and the food well cooked and excellent value - or at least I thought so!

I can't go past an Augustiner anywhere in Germany. Here again everything was great. Nice service staff, delicious food and you don't have to say anything about the beer.

The food, like in every Augustiner, is a delight. Only the restaurant manager on the 4th and 5th afternoon was a snippy catastrophe. A woman who has probably missed her job. She actually wanted to charge €1.50 for additional plates. So please...we'll be happy to forego that and go eat somewhere else in the future.

The food was good and tasty, the service was very nice, very helpful, the service was there to give you advice and assistance, and you were always asked, WITHOUT seeming intrusive, whether everything was OK, whether you wanted/needed anything else and whether it tastes good. We have already announced that we will visit again next week. Mmmmmmmhhhhh ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)!!!!!!!

Very nice restaurant with a cozy courtyard. Because everything was reserved there, we sat outside on the street. The restaurant is in the Dutch Quarter, so there is almost never any traffic. The service is very friendly. The price-performance ratio was optimal and we enjoyed it very much. We were completely satisfied and would like to come back

Pretty nice, sorry, but not anymore. The staff really friendly and competent. The roast pork wasn't convincing, and the sauce and dumplings didn't knock me off my chair either. I don't have to go there anymore. The Kässpatzen is overpriced and just mediocre. The pork knuckle was quite good, according to my colleague

The knuckle is too dry and very, very salty. Rind not crispy either. Never again

Cozy and comfortable restaurant. 1 kg knuckle, spectacular, the rest of the food also exquisite. Quick service with a very nice waitress. Totally recommended. To give it a small but, water is very, very expensive.

Eine Katastophe der so Kaiserschmarrn weder Butter noch Rosinen wie angekündigt noch selbstgemacht ein Convinience Produkt insgesamt 13 fertige Teigquadraterl lieblos nicht akzeptabel die Reaktion des Ober sehr pampig wo man nur darauf freundlich hingewiesen hatte. Da kommt man nicht mehr gerne her. Ambiente wäre eigentlich nett aber so leider nicht! Servus.

What an evening! Not only the food but especially the service (as always I was lucky and caught the blonde young man) were completely convincing. Everything was exactly as you would expect from a brewery. I'll definitely be back, hoping to get this service again ;)

It's a shame, it's a nice shop...it smelled so much like a deep fryer/kitchen that my eyes burned and my clothes had to be washed afterwards! Christmas decorations can also be slowly removed!

La comida estaba muy rica. Los platos eran muy grandes y te quedas más que saciado. El local muy bonito y típico bárbaro. A la hora de pagar quisimos hacerlo con tarjeta, en la pantalla del datáfono nos obligaba elegir un 10, 20 o 50% de propina. Nosotros estábamos hablando en la mesa de cuánto dar y la camarera no paraba de hacer presión, hasta el punto de incomodarnos. Al final le dimos al 10%. Una comida que ya de por sí valía 130€ (éramos 5 personas a unos 25€ por persona) la cuenta subió 13€. Desde mi punto de vista, hemos pagado bastante por 5 platos y tenemos el derecho de elegir libremente la propina que queramos dar y no en porcentajes. Hemos estado en otros lugares que también va la propina por porcentaje pero empieza con un 5%. Nos sentimos estafados y presionados a la hora de pagar por eso no recomiendo este local.

There was a lot of wear and tear, a good half of the menu couldn't be ordered. The staff are only assistants, the sausage salad was subpar, 2 extra slices of bread cost 2 euros. If it weren't for the beer the store could close. Very unfortunate

We went to Potsdam for an afternoon change of scenery, and since we were hungry we started looking for a place for a decent lunch. After checking out a few restaurants, all were rather disappointing (weird smells, no tables or only outside in the cold or just not open) we came upon Augustiner Potsdam. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. I had the Haxen burger (chopped Schweinshaxe with caramelized onions on a nice bun, with fries and sauerkraut) while my wife had a potato chowder and after a yummy dessert. For the burger it is not a used your hands sort, you must use the provided knife and forks. The food was excellent, and well worth it. Unfortunately the table near us had a rather loud patron and thus the 4 stars for atmosphere. Will def go back when my dad visits us and we make it a day on the other side of Berlin. Highly recommend. Parking can be something of a challenge, if you are just visiting for the day I would recommend using the nearby car park

That was nothing. The menu has been decimated, and not since yesterday, but it should take another 14 days until everything is back to normal. There wasn't anything that was interesting. In order not to upset guests, the Augustiner should be closed during the time with the kitchen problems

I was wondering how the food could be so quick and cheap. At the first bite I realized it didn't taste like anything. To pay, we had to go to the checkout despite telling the waiter. Not recommended although the Dutch quarter is very nice.

Great location and good Bavarian cuisine. But above all, the service was extremely friendly, and she was still in a good mood even when the restaurant got very full and she had to serve alone. Nevertheless, we were well looked after. We will come back in any case.

Unfortunately, about 2/3 of the dishes on the menu were not available. Apparently due to problems in the kitchen ("cooling problems"). What was served was warmed up lukewarm. In my case a very small amount of fish and a disproportionately large side dish. The staff was nice, the atmosphere was nice. A pity.

NEVER AGAIN! Visited the Augustiner again after years - and was completely disappointed!!! We ate worse than ever before. Half of the dishes were not available, this was communicated with a "we don't currently have" additional menu (1 A4 page). These included, for example, "rarities" such as salad with chicken strips, fried potatoes and Obazda. The food came within 7 minutes - definitely fresh. The sausage salad without marinade, just dry hunting sausage cubes - with a touch of cucumber and onion. The crusty roast was so dry that it became more and more in your mouth - speaking of which, where was the crust?! Plus tasteless threads (supposedly sauerkraut) and instant sauce. The only good thing was the beer and the gentian - and the waitress was friendly and professional - We didn't have to pay for the "sausage salad" - it was completely returned.

Very delicious dinner. The service was very friendly and attentive. A piece of Bavarian home feeling. The knuckle with sauerkraut was very successful. The dessert, Kaiserschmarrn, was excellent. We'll come back here if we want to eat the best knuckle in Berlin.

Great restaurant. Friendly and communicative staff, multilingual. We were also seated without a reservation, but it is advisable to reserve in advance. The food was simply delicious, the beer was typically Bavarian. Simply great. Highly recommended.

Klasse Gaststätte mitten in Potsdam. Augustiner selbst bedarf natürlich keine Bewertung, da weiß man was man hat. Essen war auch gut, waren mit 16 Kollegen vor Ort, alle waren zufrieden.

Schönes rustikal eingerichtetes bayerisches Restaurant. Wir waren als Gruppe dort. Service war top, aufmerksam und freundlich. Beim Essen war es leider durchwachsen. Haxe, Ente und Vesperplatte waren super. Große und sehr gute Portionen. Das Hähnchen war dagegen leider nicht so doll und ging dann sogar zurück. Wir kommen aber gerne wieder.

Nos ha encantado, la comida es espectacular y los postres exquisitos. Las raciones son muy grandes. El trato muy bueno. Si vienes a Potsdam no puedes dejar de visitarlo. 💯 recomendable.

Meine Bewertung ist eventuell nicht ganz fair. Wer als Vegetarier in ein Bayrisches Wirtshaus einkehrt ist wahrscheinlich selbst schuld. Das einzige ernst zu nehmende vegetarische Essen (wenn man die gebackene Kartoffel mal außen vor lässt) waren die Käsespätzle. Diese waren auch sehr lecker, aber die Portion war winzig und der Preis dafür wirklich frech. Die Fleischportionen im Gegenzug wahren sehr üppig und, wie ich hörte, auch sehr lecker.

Die halbe Ente mit Klößen und Grünkohl hat gut geschmeckt und der Preis stimmte auch. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Wer Asthma hat überlebt den Abend in dieser Gaststätte nicht. Den ganzen Abend stank es nach verkohlten Holz, Fenster öffnen half nix. Nach Hause gekommen sämtliche Klamotten erstmal in die Waschmaschine. Das Essen ist in Ordnung, alles zwei Minuten länger kochen lassen, dann wäre es fast perfekt. Für mich war es der erste und letzte Besuch in dieser Einrichtung.

Super lecker und auch noch bezahlbar.
