The food was brought to the table relatively quickly and still very warm. It was well seasoned and tasted quite authentic. The service is really commendable, the waiters are very attentive and polite. The restaurant has the very cozy atmosphere of a Bavarian inn and is highly recommended despite the slightly longer waiting times.

We were here on a Saturday. It was very crowded outside and inside. Of course there were sometimes waiting times but it was within limits. The food was good as always. We look forward to next time.

Great brewery with authentic charm! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the brewery. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy – exactly what you'd expect. The staff was attentive, friendly, and managed everything even when it was crowded. The beer: freshly tapped, truly delicious, and with a unique touch. The food was also impressive – hearty, homemade, and very tasty. However, the portions are huge, but also expensive.

Yesterday, I was there for the first time. It was very good, but also very crowded. A small menu, friendly and attentive service, perfect beer temperature, and the prices were reasonable for the old town. The only problem is the restrooms, which are a bit chaotic; they need to seat someone. We had a reservation, and I don't think it's possible these days, or it's very difficult to do without one. We really enjoyed it, and the Augustiner is sure to become a highlight of Cologne's old town. I'm deducting one star because of the restrooms. Once they get that under control, it'll be five full stars. Update: Unfortunately, I had to delete one star. You apparently can't get the restroom problem under control. We were there on March 28, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Such a poor restroom situation really detracts from the dining experience. No toilet paper, no paper towels, and the restrooms looked like a highway parking lot.

First, it was way too loud. Waited over an hour for the food. Then they told me to leave in half an hour. Food was cold when it arrived. Not recommended.

Always great food. The portions are generous and very tasty. Unfortunately, it is sometimes very loud inside, especially when there are “loud cultural events” taking place at the Heumarkt.

If you like the typical brewery atmosphere, this is the place for you. Delicious hearty brewery food and of course beer. We got a nice table by the window without a reservation and with a little wait. Our food was very good in quality and taste. We had roast pork with dumplings, sauce, coleslaw and pork knuckle with dumplings, sauce and sauerkraut. For sauce fans: order extra sauce, it costs extra but it's worth it. Our reorder of the sauce was completed very quickly. The prices are good and reasonable. The service staff are very friendly, polite and attentive. When we visited the brewery, all the tables were occupied but we still had enough to drink and the food came promptly. It was a lovely afternoon. Very tasty food and friendly service.

Very tasty, food came very quickly, but didn't taste like it had been warmed up. Service very friendly and on the ball. However, incredibly loud. A conversation is only possible if you shout at each other. The ambience is nice, but for me the volume is part of it, hence the deduction. It's just always full. Be sure to reserve. Otherwise there will be long waiting times.

Delicious food and refreshing beer ✌️

We were in Cologne on the weekend when FC played and there was a lot going on. Luckily we had reserved, the table was perfect, the service was quick and friendly. The food wasn't great due to the number of people in the restaurant, but it was ok. The beer is a bit bland compared to the usual Kölsch, but also drinkable. The prices are high, but standard for the old town.

Young, friendly and open-minded team. We were there spontaneously on a Saturday and got a seat at the counter. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. Watching the team work was very amusing and how quickly the drinks left the bar. All in all, a nice spontaneous visit.

There is a relatively small selection here, but the food is super tasty. Even vegetarians are catered for. The service staff is always at the table to ask if everything is okay or if there is anything else you would like. Very nice and polite employees. The prices are also completely reasonable. The portions are sufficient and super filling. The only thing we didn't like here was the volume. When it's full, it's quite loud. Otherwise great.👍🏻

If you don't feel like Rhenish cuisine, you're in good hands here at Augustiner. I had the roast pork with dumplings and had three large slices of roast pork on my plate in a delicious sauce with two dumplings and a delicious coleslaw. I can highly recommend the Augustiner. Especially for those who want to escape the Rhenish cuisine.

Soulful Bavarian restaurant. We visited twice during the trip. You won't find traditional Kölsch here, but the beer served is very good and at a great price. We booked a table through the form on the website. We were quickly placed inside. Although sitting outside in sunny weather would be a better solution. The service is attentive and very professional. A large number of waiters work like bees. Nice to watch. The icing on the cake is the food. Fresh, well prepared and divinely delicious. For lovers of traditional German cuisine, you should definitely come to this restaurant. Moderate prices for good food and drinks. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant.

Very nice restaurant with a cosy atmosphere that offers traditional German cuisine dishes. I had the Bavarian pork knuckle as main course, it was very good and big, I had a hard time finishing it. Service was very fast and attentive, prices are a little bit above average.

I had an amazing time at this place! I was craving German bread with beer, and it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was super chill too.

We had the pork knuckle and the daily menu dessert (shoko brownie).l, both to share (was more than enough for 2 small sized adults). Pork was excellent as expected, brownie was good. Our lady waiter was nice ans polite but took quite some time in between dishes. Would recommend, the place is well deserving of the high rating it has.

The security at carnival was a disaster. Don't pay any attention to who the stress makers are. The main thing is to eat a pretzel comfortably, they are good at that.
