Very good food for a reasonable price.

Augustiner Bräu Eisenach: An absolute must! The quality of the food and drinks at Augustiner Bräu is outstanding. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, which makes the stay very pleasant. The prices are also absolutely moderate. I would particularly like to highlight the grilled knuckle. The portion was extremely generous - the taste was a dream, but even for a good eater it was difficult to manage as it was served with plenty of sauerkraut and boiled potatoes. This restaurant is highly recommended! A small drawback is the parking options. Here you may have to search a bit to find a parking space.

Oh well. Not recommended if you are traveling with more people. Recommendation: go here alone at most. The waiter, who tried to be friendly, told us that the kitchen and service were “overwhelmed” by more people. Therefore, please eat here alone if possible. The schnitzel was pretty tough. Fried potatoes instead of French fries are not possible because of the excessive demands. There was a side salad and it tasted very good, praise to the kitchen. Be careful when moving the tables! The floor is new. As a Bavarian, I felt very uncomfortable. I can't recommend this place at all. If possible, for groups of 2 or more people, please go to other restaurants because of the “overwhelm” according to the waiter. The restaurant here is overwhelmed with more than 1 person. Unfortunately I couldn't judge the food because after 1.5 hours we still didn't have any food. We then left without eating...we had reserved and the staff still wasn't able to serve us..

Wir wählten den Ort für ein Abendessen vor dem Kinobesuch. Der Biergarten ist neu und dort befanden sich die einzigen Gäste. Es war kein Problem, einen Tisch für vier Personen zu finden. Nach einer guten halben Stunde bekamen wir unsere Getränke und eine Stunde später unser Essen. Beim Essen mussten wir nachfragen, wie lange es noch dauert. Als es dann endlich kam, hatte ich tatsächlich das schlechteste Matjes, was ich jemals in einem Restaurant bestellte. 3 Filets 3 Kartoffeln und einen ungewürzten Salat. Obwohl ich beim Servieren darauf hinwies, wo denn die Kräuter-Rahmsoße wäre, kam nur: "Die wurde wohl vergessen". Kein Nachschlag oder " Entschuldigung, ich bringe es gleich". Wenn wir nicht unter Zeitdruck und ich nicht so hungrig gewesen wäre, hätte ich die Portion verweigert. Meine Mitstreiter waren zufrieden mit dem Essen, nur meins war daneben, deshalb 3 Sterne. Das lange Warten geht gar nicht. Wer preiswert essen will, keine Ansprüche stellt und viel Zeit hat, ist dort richtig.

We were there as a group of almost 30 people. Reservations were made weeks in advance. We waited almost 2 hours for the food. The kitchen was completely overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't fully occupied. The food was rather below average. We had the deer goulash. We have eaten much better dumplings in Thuringia. The service seemed unfriendly and overwhelmed. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the Augustinerbräu.

A great restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices... the knuckle of pork was pretty much the crispiest I've ever had... but it was impossible to finish. The roast pork was super tender, and the red cabbage and dumplings were excellent... The day before, we had goulash, which is also highly recommended. The service is friendly and authentic... We really enjoyed it and can happily recommend the restaurant 👍

Quaint location with delicious food and drinks

Finished our “summer win weekend” here. Food very, very tasty and service very friendly. If we are in Eisenach again, we will stop here again.

Not a bit of the charm of a Bavarian restaurant. At the weekend there was just one A4 page of dishes - including two schnitzels and one solyanka. No knuckle and no roast It's called Augustiner Brauhaus but Augustiner Non-Alcoholic... also not in stock. I had a solyanka which was ok. My “Paprika” schnitzel was simply a ready-made schnitzel fried in a pan with solyanka poured over it. The Schnitzel Jäger style wasn't that great either. Unfortunately no fresh cuisine and an impertinence for supposedly traditional Bavarian cuisine. Food was warm and beer was cold, there's nothing more positive to say. No recommendation from me. Either it was a really bad day or the other reviews are bought.

Totally recommended to end the day!! The food was delicious!! The service was courteous, really friendly, you could tell there was passion behind it!! We will definitely be there again the next time we visit Eisenach!!

We stopped in spontaneously. A brewery-style inn with friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. Everything is on the ground floor. We enjoyed the food. The liver dumpling soup was excellent. Dogs are welcome.

Went to a birthday party at the Augustiner for the first time today. The food and drinks were great, the service was super fast and very friendly. 🥰 1.3.25 update. Celebrated my own birthday last week. And again everything was perfect. Everything was uncomplicated, the food was perfect, the service grade 1+. My guests were very enthusiastic. Thank you very much ❤️

Very rare German restaurant with excellent food. Cozy and rustic interior, beautiful beer garden!

After waiting at the counter for almost 10 minutes, a second service person appeared at the counter after the first one skillfully repeatedly ignored me despite speaking to me. She then assigned me the reserved table. The ambience is appealing. Just a few minutes after guests arrived later, I also received the menus. The beer is delicious, the food was unfortunately very low in salt and spices and could have been a bit warmer and perhaps a few grams more. The highlight was the side salad, which only came upon request. Apparently because it is left standing too often. However, for me that doesn't justify announcing it on the menu and then not asking when ordering whether you would like to use it. The salad that then rushed forward visually corresponded to a defiant reaction. There was half a slice of potato salad (unfortunately not a joke) and a small piece of Chinese cabbage on the clearly arranged plate. Overall rating: more likely to go for a drink, the food rather lower middle class.

No, I cannot recommend this location. Our food arrived at a speed that suggested nothing was freshly prepared. What was much worse was that 2 foreign guests were turned away despite free tables. When asked by the employees, the boss replied that he didn't care that tables were free. A few minutes later, German guests who arrived without a reservation were assigned a table without any problems. That doesn't work at all! Unfortunately, I couldn't exchange a word with the boss about it because his employee cashed in on us. We won't go here anymore!

A really great place. We like to be here during the Eisenach Honky Tonks. The Augustiner beer is of course a pleasure. The menu largely consists of good, home-style Thuringian cuisine. Delicious. You can also book the “Catacombs” and treat yourself to a thievery feast. We really enjoy coming here

Very cozy Augustinian restaurant with very good traditional food. A must on every business trip just because of the beer. Service friendly and attentive. For me the pork knuckle was the absolute highlight if you like that kind of thing. We've already gone through the whole map...

Starter soup was catastrophic but was replaced after a complaint... Game goulash was lukewarm, unseasoned pork knuckles smelled and tasted like rancid fat from the convection oven, sauerkraut was overcooked... The only bright spot was the staff

Were there for a class reunion. Unfortunately we were placed in a side room that we had to share with another party. As a result, the noise level was so high that you could no longer understand anything. That's why there was no ambience. The food was very average. I'm used to something different from Augustiner. The service staff tried very hard to serve us. Therefore, for groups, decide in advance exactly where and how and with whom you have to share the guest room.

We ate at the restaurant today and were very pleasantly surprised. The cuisine is good, home-style, and we really liked the ambience and charm of the pub. The service was very nice, quick and empathetic, including to our daughter. The prices are also very good and the Augustiner Pils and Weizen draft beer were really tasty. We'll definitely be back. My friend likes to complain because she is a very good cook, but she was very happy here.

Went there with friends and loved it! There wasn't a menu in English, but that wasn't a problem at all, as the nice staff member was very open and friendly, understood all the questions and was able to answer them. The food and service was great! Many thanks to the chef and the great team!!

We weren't even greeted in the restaurant, we were just left standing there, ignored at all, all three waitresses heads down, no one asked if we had a reservation or spontaneously came to eat, nothing. Then you just go to the next restaurant "Split" a little further and is warmly welcomed.

We were in Eisenach on a holiday and visited the Wartburg and then walked through the city and finally had a meal here. Service was super friendly, nice and accommodating, we reserved a table in the hall because everything at the front was full. The ambience wasn't that great, but it's not included in the rating because we were given this opportunity despite the store being full. Goulash with dumplings, schnitzel and pork medallions - really good German cuisine. 👍👍👍 Thanks and keep it up.

We were registered with a group of around 25 people. The food was pre-ordered. Starter soups were served after the main course, the soups were almost cold. The Käsespätzle were nowhere near what Käsespätzle are. A liquid sauce, the quantity was little for the price. The plates were cold and the greasy traces of wiping were still visible on the edges of the plates. I haven't experienced anything this bad in a long time. The service was nice, tried hard and put up with the complaints. The reason is probably the kitchen. Absolutely not recommended!

Since many restaurants only open from 5 p.m. or close in the afternoon, this hospitality is one of the few opportunities to receive friendly service and eat at an excellent price/performance ratio. Gladly again and keep it up! I deducted a point from the ambience because it's not my taste. But the owner can't do anything about it.

It's a shame about the money and the time. We traveled a long way for a crispy grilled knuckle but were totally disappointed. NO taste and the skin is like rubber...not worth the money

We came especially for Reformation Day to get to know the beautiful city of Eisenach... and to end the day we reserved a table at "Augustiner Bräu"... The impression of the evening: pub, of the worst kind with drunks at the bar, loud card players at the neighboring table, attack dogs in the hall, plus sticky naked table tops, dirty toilets, etc. We had to wait 35 minutes for a pretzel with a beer, over 90 min - on the main course (!) and endure pat excuses. Deer goulash, red cabbage, dumplings - from a can, plus the wrong bill! Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended! Where is the supervisory duty of the Eisenach city authorities!? It's all ok! Delicious food, good and nice service, delicious food, nice beer garden.

The food was rustic and good. Augustinerbräu is very tasty anyway. The service was very nice and attentive. Of course, we would have preferred to eat original Thuringian specialties in Eisenach, but that's just the way it is at 3 p.m. Warm food is served here all the time, which is of course ideal for visitors.

Food lukewarm to cold, came out of the microwave judging by the potatoes. We wanted to warm it up again - no thanks -, the flippant answer was: we tried it, it was warm. We then paid for our drinks and looked for something else.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis eigentlich auch. Allerdings wurden bei unserer Gruppenreise (30 Pereonen) Seniorenportionen serviert und der volle Preis berechnet. Auf Nachfrage wurde dies durch den Verantwortlichen auch bestätigt.

Bavarian restaurant in Eisenach, Thuringia, which also serves “Wiesnbier”. Probably a little over 10 euros, a little cheaper than "at the Wies'n" itself. :-) Frequently visited by locals and tourists alike.

I've been to the Augustiner a few times now. The last visit with colleagues was disappointing. Food just average. Service was also better. Apparently there was a change in staff here. Ambiance fits so far. 8-10 months ago the service was friendlier and the quality of the food was significantly better. There was also more on the plate! During our current visit, all the food portions were smaller than before. The apple strudel for dessert was only half as big as before :-( (maybe different chefs or different kitchen staff, as some others also note) Conclusion: I was honestly disappointed and can only recommend the Augustiner to a limited extent. Price/performance is just about.... Previously average, now rather worse.

Had a reservation and the service was friendly. Food came quite quickly and we enjoyed it very much. I don't know whether the red cabbage comes from a can, as stated in some reviews. Of course it could be, but I think it's completely fine. Price performance fits. They also responded to special requests and made my daughter 3/4 chicken nuggets instead of fries. Super. It's also nice to sit in the beer garden. Made the best of it due to the location.

One of the most beautiful locations in Eisenach. Hearty German dishes for small or large appetites are offered. There are also plenty of options for vegans. The Bavarian beer tastes very good. Service is very nice.

Maybe not the best idea to order Thuringian dishes in a Bavarian chain. Not really clean, the dishes of the food served were - let's put it politely - moderately clean. The taste of the food itself was rather average (Thuringian roulade) and we couldn't tolerate it either. Was it due to kitchen hygiene? On the way to the toilet there is a very strange smell, the stairs there are in need of repair, the toilet is not really in good condition.

It's not easy to find a restaurant with German food in the city. Luckily we asked a friendly employee of the public order office who recommended it to us. Portions plentiful and good. Staff doesn't get any better. Big praise.

We sat in the beer garden, which was quite friendly and inviting. For dinner we ordered the venison goulash and the roulade. An hour after we ordered, the waitress came to us and said she had forgotten about us and hadn't passed the food on to the chef. So we had to wait another half hour. As compensation, the drinks were on the house. We found that very nice. The food was definitely not freshly cooked, but, as already mentioned here, tailored to the mass. But you can't expect anything different for the local prices (roulade with red cabbage and dumplings €16.90). However, we wouldn't come back on another vacation.

The Augustinerbräu in Eisenach is convincing across the board and is definitely worth a visit. The hearty dishes fit perfectly into the Bavarian ambience and are of excellent quality. In addition to Bavarian classics, there are also Thuringian specialties that taste very good. The solyanka was quite pepper-heavy, but still tasted convincing. The service is friendly, attentive, and the prices are absolutely fair. A highlight is the spacious beer garden with shady spots - ideal for warm days. Particularly noteworthy are the exceptionally clean toilets, which further reinforces the positive overall impression. Due to the popularity of the restaurant, a reservation is strongly recommended.

Very quick service. The beer garden was very simply designed. Ice cream sundae 0815. Prepared without love. Latte Macciato didn't deserve the name. Not even really milk foam on it, no taste. My tea, cup was only half full. We didn't order any more food here!

We were just in Eisenach for a stopover and found this great restaurant. Was recommended to us by locals. We had very tasty food and drinks, super fair prices and our dog was welcome. We sat in the beer garden. Very nice and recommended.

We ate there with 10 colleagues. We waited 1 hour for the starter and another hour for the main course. This was not an isolated incident that evening. The quality of the food was also poor. Therefore, we can definitely not recommend the restaurant

Great inn...great food...only 1 point deducted for the outdoor area at the back...you sit under a tin roof like a carport and the whole ambience is like that...I was missing a little more coziness

Zeldzaam slecht eten. Je weet niet wat je in je mond hebt. Kip of champignons. Zelfs de aardappelkroketten waren niet te hachelen.
