Augustiner Bräu in Eisenach

Went there with friends and loved it! There wasn't a menu in English, but that wasn't a problem at all, as the nice staff member was very open and friendly, understood all the questions and was able to answer them. The food and service was great! Many thanks to the chef and the great team!!

We weren't even greeted in the restaurant, we were just left standing there, ignored at all, all three waitresses heads down, no one asked if we had a reservation or spontaneously came to eat, nothing. Then you just go to the next restaurant "Split" a little further and is warmly welcomed.

We were registered with a group of around 25 people. The food was pre-ordered. Starter soups were served after the main course, the soups were almost cold. The Käsespätzle were nowhere near what Käsespätzle are. A liquid sauce, the quantity was little for the price. The plates were cold and the greasy traces of wiping were still visible on the edges of the plates. I haven't experienced anything this bad in a long time. The service was nice, tried hard and put up with the complaints. The reason is probably the kitchen. Absolutely not recommended!

We were in Eisenach on a holiday and visited the Wartburg and then walked through the city and finally had a meal here. Service was super friendly, nice and accommodating, we reserved a table in the hall because everything at the front was full. The ambience wasn't that great, but it's not included in the rating because we were given this opportunity despite the store being full. Goulash with dumplings, schnitzel and pork medallions - really good German cuisine. 👍👍👍 Thanks and keep it up.

Since many restaurants only open from 5 p.m. or close in the afternoon, this hospitality is one of the few opportunities to receive friendly service and eat at an excellent price/performance ratio. Gladly again and keep it up! I deducted a point from the ambience because it's not my taste. But the owner can't do anything about it.

It's a shame about the money and the time. We traveled a long way for a crispy grilled knuckle but were totally disappointed. NO taste and the skin is like rubber...not worth the money

We came especially for Reformation Day to get to know the beautiful city of Eisenach... and to end the day we reserved a table at "Augustiner Bräu"... The impression of the evening: pub, of the worst kind with drunks at the bar, loud card players at the neighboring table, attack dogs in the hall, plus sticky naked table tops, dirty toilets, etc. We had to wait 35 minutes for a pretzel with a beer, over 90 min - on the main course (!) and endure pat excuses. Deer goulash, red cabbage, dumplings - from a can, plus the wrong bill! Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended! Where is the supervisory duty of the Eisenach city authorities!? It's all ok! Delicious food, good and nice service, delicious food, nice beer garden.

The food was rustic and good. Augustinerbräu is very tasty anyway. The service was very nice and attentive. Of course, we would have preferred to eat original Thuringian specialties in Eisenach, but that's just the way it is at 3 p.m. Warm food is served here all the time, which is of course ideal for visitors.

Food lukewarm to cold, came out of the microwave judging by the potatoes. We wanted to warm it up again - no thanks -, the flippant answer was: we tried it, it was warm. We then paid for our drinks and looked for something else.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis eigentlich auch. Allerdings wurden bei unserer Gruppenreise (30 Pereonen) Seniorenportionen serviert und der volle Preis berechnet. Auf Nachfrage wurde dies durch den Verantwortlichen auch bestätigt.

Bavarian restaurant in Eisenach, Thuringia, which also serves “Wiesnbier”. Probably a little over 10 euros, a little cheaper than "at the Wies'n" itself. :-) Frequently visited by locals and tourists alike.

I've been to the Augustiner a few times now. The last visit with colleagues was disappointing. Food just average. Service was also better. Apparently there was a change in staff here. Ambiance fits so far. 8-10 months ago the service was friendlier and the quality of the food was significantly better. There was also more on the plate! During our current visit, all the food portions were smaller than before. The apple strudel for dessert was only half as big as before :-( (maybe different chefs or different kitchen staff, as some others also note) Conclusion: I was honestly disappointed and can only recommend the Augustiner to a limited extent. Price/performance is just about.... Previously average, now rather worse.

Had a reservation and the service was friendly. Food came quite quickly and we enjoyed it very much. I don't know whether the red cabbage comes from a can, as stated in some reviews. Of course it could be, but I think it's completely fine. Price performance fits. They also responded to special requests and made my daughter 3/4 chicken nuggets instead of fries. Super. It's also nice to sit in the beer garden. Made the best of it due to the location.

One of the most beautiful locations in Eisenach. Hearty German dishes for small or large appetites are offered. There are also plenty of options for vegans. The Bavarian beer tastes very good. Service is very nice.

Maybe not the best idea to order Thuringian dishes in a Bavarian chain. Not really clean, the dishes of the food served were - let's put it politely - moderately clean. The taste of the food itself was rather average (Thuringian roulade) and we couldn't tolerate it either. Was it due to kitchen hygiene? On the way to the toilet there is a very strange smell, the stairs there are in need of repair, the toilet is not really in good condition.

It's not easy to find a restaurant with German food in the city. Luckily we asked a friendly employee of the public order office who recommended it to us. Portions plentiful and good. Staff doesn't get any better. Big praise.

The beer garden is very nice. The guest room is less so. Too bright light and no ambience.

Very unfriendly staff. I just wanted to ask if you could sit in because of the wasps. Then I was spoken to so stupidly and yelled at. I would say career misplaced.

We sat in the beer garden, which was quite friendly and inviting. For dinner we ordered the venison goulash and the roulade. An hour after we ordered, the waitress came to us and said she had forgotten about us and hadn't passed the food on to the chef. So we had to wait another half hour. As compensation, the drinks were on the house. We found that very nice. The food was definitely not freshly cooked, but, as already mentioned here, tailored to the mass. But you can't expect anything different for the local prices (roulade with red cabbage and dumplings €16.90). However, we wouldn't come back on another vacation.

The Augustinerbräu in Eisenach is convincing across the board and is definitely worth a visit. The hearty dishes fit perfectly into the Bavarian ambience and are of excellent quality. In addition to Bavarian classics, there are also Thuringian specialties that taste very good. The solyanka was quite pepper-heavy, but still tasted convincing. The service is friendly, attentive, and the prices are absolutely fair. A highlight is the spacious beer garden with shady spots - ideal for warm days. Particularly noteworthy are the exceptionally clean toilets, which further reinforces the positive overall impression. Due to the popularity of the restaurant, a reservation is strongly recommended.

Very quick service. The beer garden was very simply designed. Ice cream sundae 0815. Prepared without love. Latte Macciato didn't deserve the name. Not even really milk foam on it, no taste. My tea, cup was only half full. We didn't order any more food here!

We were just in Eisenach for a stopover and found this great restaurant. Was recommended to us by locals. We had very tasty food and drinks, super fair prices and our dog was welcome. We sat in the beer garden. Very nice and recommended.

We ate there with 10 colleagues. We waited 1 hour for the starter and another hour for the main course. This was not an isolated incident that evening. The quality of the food was also poor. Therefore, we can definitely not recommend the restaurant

Great inn...great food...only 1 point deducted for the outdoor area at the back...you sit under a tin roof like a carport and the whole ambience is like that...I was missing a little more coziness

I sat in the “beer garden”. But this lacks the beer garden atmosphere. Concrete floor and no old trees :-( The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is rustic, as expected for a beer garden.

Give this restaurant a wide berth! Service very bad, very slow and super rude! There were six of us there and half of the guests didn't like the food. For dessert I wanted an apple strudel, but I was refused to order it on the grounds that I would have to wait an hour

I was looking for a place on Google. Our expectations were exceeded. Food and drink great. Pleasant prices. Super nice and fit service (pink hair). We will come back next time we visit Eisenach. If it rains or there is too much sun in the beer garden, an awning is closed. Great rest of the inn.

Rustic place. I have visited this several times now. Food: I had already ordered the game as well as roulade and schnitzel as the main course. Red cabbage is clearly canned and you can taste it. The rest was also rather tasteless. Service: the staff can quickly become mushy when the store is full. Ambience: The outside area is nice and airy, rustically simple. Personally avoid the Augustinian. On the other hand, I don't like the service anymore and the dishes are very simply tailored to the masses.

Ich war im Juli 2024 im Restaurant. An einem Abend wollte ich Abendessen. Speisen und Service waren in Ordnung. Mit 28 Euro (Getränk, Vorspeise, Hauptgericht) ist man schon im gehobenen Segment, der Service war ok, obwohl ich zuerst die falsche Rechnung bekam. Die Kellnerin war aber sehr freundlich. Da mein Eindruck sehr gut war, wollte ich am darauffolgenden Abend erneut in das Augustiner Bräu. Leider sagte mir die Kellnerin freundlich, dass die Küche leider schon geschlossen sei (gegen 9 Uhr). Schade. Bin dann in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen.

This restaurant is highly recommended and a tip for every visit to Eisenach! I organize a Schlaraffia Eisenach club meeting there every month and have never had any reason to complain! There was another meeting like this last Monday (July 8, 2024). And one of our guests was dissatisfied (largely self-inflicted!). He left a negative review here, from which the club and I as chairman clearly distance ourselves!!!

Was at an event. I was there 2 hours earlier to eat. Beer garden was open. After 20 minutes still no service. I'm at the event after 60 minutes. No service here either. When I asked at the counter I was told I could eat at home. I left hungry and thirsty after 4 hours. Will never enter this restaurant again. Not recommended to anyone.

We were in the beer garden for the European Football Championship and were lucky to get a table without reserving in advance. Unfortunately the food was limited that day, we couldn't order from the regular menu, but it was delicious. Nice service.

My wife and I have been guests at Augustiner Bräu several times in the past with consistently good experiences. After the last time in 2017, we stopped there again on June 16, 2024 on the way back from vacation and were initially very impressed by the newly designed beer garden. The drinks came quickly and the food after just a short wait. The food (large chicken breast salad and hearty venison goulash) tasted very good. Unfortunately, I was very unlucky with the “goulash roulette”; there were four pieces of meat in the delicious mushroom sauce. The waitress said it was just bad luck, but that could happen when scooping with a ladle from the large pot. The next guest would then have more meat on their plate. By the way, my “stake” for the “Gulasch Roulette” was an impressive EUR 16.80. Tip: Order the senior portion, “Stake” EUR 12.80: One dumpling less, but with a bit of luck a little more meat.

At steak au four, the seasoned meat was a ready-made product, the steak was very small and the side fries were very few. All in all not justified for the price. Other dishes looked similar and were more like children's portions at adult prices. From my point of view, which can only be a snapshot, unfortunately it cannot be recommended.

A wonderful evening in a great atmosphere. The prices are completely reasonable, the food was delicious and the beer is to die for. The service is friendly and courteous and everything, including the sanitary area, is very clean. There's nothing to complain about (and you can believe me: that's the highest praise from a German, we're literally looking for something to complain about). Gladly again! 😊

We ate well and inexpensively here. Home-style cooking and a wide range of drinks leave nothing to be desired. Of course it is not a star restaurant. But we weren't consciously looking for that. The cozy atmosphere and the friendly service unfolded their charm as desired. We'll stop by here next time.

Wir waren mit 9 Personen im "Vereinszimmer" und obwohl das ganze Lokal sehr gut besucht war, wurden wir sehr freundlich und auch einigermaßen zügig bedient. Das Essen hat uns allen gut geschmeckt. Das Bier sowieso!
