We received friendly service, but then had to wait over an hour for our food. The mussels and the pulp were not satisfactory in taste. When we were somewhat full from the side dishes, we left the rest. Conclusion: Never again...🥲🤢

We celebrated with 16 people and everyone had a wonderful evening, thank you very much. Even though the restaurant was full, every course was served promptly. The food was great, the wines were great and the service was incredibly attentive, patient and friendly. Absolutely recommended, we always enjoy coming here.

I was there with a friend who I hadn't seen for a long time. The suggestion came from me because I had been there for lunch two weeks before and saw that they offered mussels, which my friend wanted to eat. The evening actually went very well, the food was very good, and when it came to wine, I recommended the Riesling to my friend, which I like to drink myself. The service staff was nice, up to the point where we asked for the bill. Since everyone wanted to pay their own share, we looked closely at the billing and lo and behold, there was an item with an abbreviation that we couldn't do anything with. We called the waitress and asked for an explanation: it was a glass of Pinot Gris. We explained to the young lady that it must have been a mistake since we had neither ordered nor drunk that glass. Then she went away and came back with a new receipt on which she had removed the glass of Pinot Gris, but had charged an additional glass of Riesling for it (the Pinot Gris was a little more expensive than the Riesling). We explained to the young lady again that it had to be a mistake because we had neither ordered nor drunk that glass, regardless of the grape variety. She then became upset when she realized that we wouldn't change what we said and insisted on correction. She walked back to the counter with both receipts and began chatting with the other two servers present. I don't like to judge whether one of you was the leader. They were definitely older than her. They kept advising each other, then doing something else (cleaning glasses, serving other people, typing in the cash register), then advising again, etc. It took quite a long time for the male colleague to come to us with the correct billing. However, we had to hear that the cash register doesn't make any mistakes, if something was typed in then it must be correct, etc. We logically stuck to our statement because it was the truth. Interestingly, this man turned to me because my girlfriend had drunk 2 glasses of wine, but I had only 1. The fact that I had drunk an espresso was ignored. Moral of the story: If you go to eat at this restaurant, do it the old-fashioned way: ask for a beer mat and have the waitress write down each drink you actually receive. This will save you trouble.

Good food in a nice atmosphere. The predominantly French one Kitchen is expensive, but what is still cheap these days? As a small gift from the house there was a glass of pumpkin soup, which had a nice velvety texture and was delicately seasoned. As a starter there was fish soup, which was very good and beautifully prepared. For the main course I chose mussels, which were also very tasty and plentiful Unfortunately the service was a bit inattentive. We weren't served at the beginning and had to point out that we would also like a card and would like to order. I also had to ask for the bread for the mussels. The Auberge is beautifully furnished and I felt comfortable despite the Christmas decorations. But the toilet is terrible, dark and uncaring. This is really getting better now

We visited the Auberge Rouge with six people on a beautiful summer day (weekday) and were therefore able to sit outside. The manageable menu was presented to us on a blackboard. The dishes on offer are not run-of-the-mill, but you can tell from the prices... baked vegetables with sheep's cheese and tabbouleh salad for 22 euros is decent. Unfortunately there was no side salad with the Iberico cutlet for just under 30 euros. Probably because of the “vegetable” (a piece of zucchini). The side salads for the other meat dishes had little to no dressing, so we had to order more. The portions are manageable and the plates sometimes seem quite empty. But everything tasted great. We also really enjoyed the dessert (sorbet ice cream). The service was nice and attentive.

We wanted to have a pleasant time. It went quite well during the meal, despite the high prices. When the boss presents us with the bill, even before paying, she asks us 5 times in a row if tipping is included in France, and insistently. We are always in the habit of paying the bill by card and leaving a generous tip but a patonne who, instead of asking her customers if everything went well, asks them for a tip, this has not happened to us for 20 years . Making us look ungrateful is unacceptable. Wasted evening, we would have done better to go eat next door.

Unfortunately, a big disappointment, for the second time (even then, the four of us waited for more than an hour and a half until the order came). We had reserved three places for 7 p.m. on April 30, 2024. There were two chairs at a table for 4 outside on the Daarler market. All tables were occupied. I also organized drink tickets and the food table by 7:30 p.m. To date no order (not even for drinks) could be placed. At 7:45 p.m. we managed to order water and aperitifs. We placed our order at 8:15 p.m. One starter (coquille) and three main courses. At 9.15 p.m. the interior was now fully occupied and then the scallops arrived. Two "Lilliput specimens" drowned in oil. At 9:30 p.m. the head of the house came and served “the vitamins in advance” aka a side salad with the cordon bleu we ordered. 9.45 p.m. Patience has broken. We went to pay. All tables in the restaurant had been served (mind you, almost every guest came here after 7 p.m.). The waitress rushed into the kitchen and then came back shaking her head and asked "whether we want to have another dessert on the house?" I have to get used to the humor. 70 € for 2 apertifs, 4 Karlsberg Ur-Pils and drowned scallops. No dialogue in advance, no information, no regrets. That was it then. Conclusion: Staff overwhelmed, kitchen completely undersized for the number of guests. Having 6 to 8 fewer tables would help.

We were there twice; unfortunately the first and definitely the last time! The first time we waited over an hour for the food. But the last time, 2 days ago, we left after 2 3/4 hours, so after almost 3 hours we still didn't have any food. Our next table had also been waiting for almost 2 hours... No apology, no information and not even a discount on the drinks that we then paid for... If the kitchen and the staff aren't up to it, you can't accept so many tables! It was an outrage!!!

We were eating at the Auberge with a group of 11 friends. I was there for the first time. It was a nice evening. I really enjoyed it and found the portions to be large. Therefore a good price-performance ratio. As a starter I had the bruschetta (shared), as the main course I had the Zaâlouk and as dessert I had a cheese variation with 5 types (shared). The cumin dominated the taste of the main course. Since I also use cumin, everything is ok. Only those who don't like it could have a problem if the intensity is always like that. Otherwise it was well balanced. I would order it again. Since the restaurant was full, it took a little longer between the main course and dessert. Since we always sit together for a long time in this group when we meet, that wasn't a negative thing. The service was friendly. What I found negative was that when I reordered drinks, empty glasses and bottles were sometimes left standing. I expect it to be different given the demands of the restaurant. Therefore one point deducted. I deducted two points from the ambience, not because of the furnishings and decoration, but because of the noise and the poor exhaust air. Since it is relatively tight when all the tables are occupied, it was unfortunately very loud and conversations at a normal volume were difficult. I don't like it when I come out of a restaurant and feel so hungry for food that my clothes have to go to the laundry. Everyone experiences smell differently, so I can only speak for myself on this point, as well as the others. In summary, I would like to come back, but in the summer when you can sit outside.

Hello dear readers, friends and connoisseurs of fine dining culture. 😋 I was in Saarbrücken again at lunchtime today. Of course, I once again felt like enjoying the very good and always freshly cooked food at Auberge Rouge. So just go in and immediately enjoy the cozy atmosphere and the tasteful decoration on the ceiling - a warm welcome. 😊 As I often do, I ordered fresh fish, today it was turbot, with rosemary potatoes and real grilled vegetables. The whole thing prepared with fresh herbs and a lot of love. I say “real” because it is often called that, but unfortunately it is prepared in a pan. (As is often the case with the baked potato, which is just a simple, boiled jacket potato) All I had left on my plate was a squeezed lemon. 😋😀 The food, the friendly service, the atmosphere were and are always worth a visit here. And in summer we go back out into the very cozy outdoor area under large trees. For me it's always a little short vacation in France. 😊 Thanks to the bosses and your team💐

Kitchen and service overwhelmed Visiting the restaurant on a Saturday is a challenge for both nerves and taste buds. There were 4 of us in a hyped, pretty French style restaurant. Relatively expensive, but if it tastes good, you're happy to pay a little more. This is what happened before dinner. 4 main courses come, 1 of which is steak medium. Raw inside after cutting. When we kindly asked if it could be fried again on the grill, it wasn't a problem for us at first. After asking several times where the meat was, they said that it had been fried again... the remaining 3 were finished eating, then the steak arrived NEW and raw again. Then we showed this to the boss and he just shrugged and cleared away the food. I was served and didn't want a third steak anymore. No apology or at least explanation. We weren't served any more drinks afterwards, even though we weren't unfriendly. Very unprofessional handling of a complaint! Unfortunately we will no longer visit this restaurant.

Very cozy atmosphere at the St.Arnualer Markt, top wine selection, super attentive service, excellent cuisine, beautifully decorated for Christmas during Advent. We also went there on holy morning, there were oysters & fish soup 👍 and to protect us from the poor weather 💦 there was a pavilion with bar tables in front of the door. It was a pleasure. One of those places that you walk into and immediately feel at home.

Leider wurde uns weder bei der Tischreservierung, noch beim Eintreffen im Lokal mitgeteilt, dass das Restaurant mit Zeitfenster arbeitet, wir hätten dann erst gar nicht gebucht. Nach Vor und Hauptgericht, was geschmacklich sehr gut war, wollten wir kein Dessert, nur noch zwei Kaffee. Es wurde uns dann nahe gelegt den Tisch frei zu machen und an die Theke zu wechseln was wir natürlich erst mal nicht verstanden, da wir nichts von dem Zeitfenster wussten. Nach einiger Verwirrung unsererseits sagte man uns dann, dass der Tisch schon 10 Minuten später wieder von anderen Gästen reserviert war....Da wir unseren Kaffee nicht an der Theke trinken wollten brachte man uns unaufgefordert die Rechnung, obwohl wir noch nicht ausgetrunken hatten, was ich persönlich wie einen Rauswurf empfunden habe.Der Inhaber hat Hausrecht, aber hätte man das nicht smarter regeln können....

Ein pittoresques klein wirkendes Restaurant mit kleiner, feiner Karte. Der Service ist zumeist zuvorkommend, das Ambiente in der Weihnachtszeit ansprechend, wenngleich bisserl überladen. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend im Team mit herausragenden, aus persönlichem Bezug vorbestellten kleinen Speisen. Ich komme wieder zu einer anderen Jahreszeit. Im Sommer stehen Tische vor dem Restaurant draußen auf dem (Markt-) Platz und verleiht dem ganzen sommerlich légèren Charme.

Wir waren begeistert. Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal in der Auberge Rouge essen. Die Speisekarte hat ins gefallen und die Preise schienen ok. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wahnsinnig gut. Die Portionen waren nicht zu klein und vor allem die Qualität hat gestimmt! Die saarbrücker Gastronomie ist inzwischen so arrogant geworden, was das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis angeht, dass man Glück hat, noch ein Restaurant wie die Auberge Rouge zu finden. Wir haben in der sogenannten "gehobenen Küche" schon für mehr Geld schlechter gegessen. Auch der Service soll nicht ohne Lob bleiben. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und waren nicht zum letzten Mal dort. Danke für den schönen Abend.

Bonjour j'étais aujourd'hui le 29 septembre 2023 à midi côté attente c'était pas trop long l'entrée la salade était excellent le copain et moi avons pris une escalope panée avec des frites les frites étaient beaucoup trop salé mes escalopes panées était bonne rien à dire on était que deux on n'a pas pris de désert on était là-bas environ trois quart d'heure au total cordialement

Der St.Arnualer Markt ist einfach ein magischer Ort und wirkt immer wieder wie aus der Zeit gefallen - das ist nicht nur für Saarbrücker Verhältnisse außergewöhnlich. Das Essen ist gut, das Bier eiskalt und das Personal höflich, liebevoll und engagiert. Und das in einer Zeit, in der das leider nicht mehr überall selbstverständlich ist. Chapeau - macht einfach so weiter … ich fühle mich immer sehr sehr wohl bei euch ✨✨✨✨✨

Die Örtlichkeit ist super schön, leider das Personal aber sehr unaufmerksam. Es wurde das falsche Essen gebracht und das Dessert, das eigentlich warm sein sollte, war kalt. Der Service schaut einen nicht an und vergisst komplett dass eine Außenterrasse besteht. Wir mussten mehrmals reingehen um für uns selbst zu sorgen. Also für den Service und das Essen sind die Preise leider zu hoch. Sehr schade, dass da anscheinend keiner Lust hat auf seinen Job.

enttäuschend und muss ich nicht nochmal hin die im Internet angebotetenen Speisen gab es nicht wenn man also wegen der Bärlauch-Gnocchi hin gefahren ist, hatte man schonmal Pech. Personal teilweise unaufmerksam, dem Wirt konnte man kein Lächeln entlocken, sah sehr genervt aus und servierte eher mürrisch ... die bestellten Froschschenkel waren nix Besonderes, ebenso wie das Cordon-Bleu aus dem eine klebrige Masse rauslief der Salat mit Ziegenkäse war aber dann der Oberhammer alles in allem zu teuer , keine Raffinesse , dennoch zwei Sterne, das Brot und die Tapenade waren lecker

It's quite good. There is something for everyone here for a small price. If you come home from work in the afternoon, are very hungry and want something decent to eat, this is worth its weight in gold. It's also very comfortable to sit there.
