The food was really good (even without salad), the staff were super friendly, but no ouzo to welcome or finish, a bit disappointing, otherwise everything was great.

After all the traditional restaurants were fully booked, we stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant. Very friendly service, a cozy atmosphere, and really good food at reasonable prices. A definite recommendation, and thank you very much.

The good news first: The food is delicious! Otherwise, no Greek flair or hospitality, for example, ouzo. Somehow overwhelmed. Well, the staff. You ask, they forget, another doesn't know, the next one doesn't react, and the other says that's just the way it is. You get brushed off. The owners won't care if new tourists arrive every day. It's just on the edge of the cathedral square with a view of the cathedral.

I expected more from a Greek restaurant. At my Greek restaurant, it's top. I can't say that here. Also, the fact that you can't just pack the food you paid for is unbelievable. Google will delete this post again. But it's the truth.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best restaurants in town, with a beautiful view of Erfurt Cathedral. The food is typically Greek; if you're looking for a market, you won't be disappointed, so stop by. Life could certainly be worse.

The food arrived quickly. However, we wanted to take the leftovers with us. That cost another 3 euros for the packaging! We'd never had that before. The waitress said it was normal. We left it there. It's a shame that the food has to be thrown away like that.

The food tasted really Greek, besides I don't eat Greek at all

The staff was extremely unfriendly (especially the black-haired woman). The food was far too expensive for the small portion and it was also too salty.

That was nothing. Last night, before the open-air event, we had a bite to eat. Ordered, delivered incorrectly, replaced without apology. An appetizer platter—they're supposed to be the kitchen's calling card—was: one olive, one stuffed vine leaf, one pepper, one-eighth of a tomato, three bowls of sauce... plus two slices of fried eggplant and four slices of fried cucumber, and a mountain of unimaginative salad. It's clear that prices have to rise, but does that mean the quality has to decline? Under some time pressure, we asked to pay. But instead of honoring our request, we were greeted by friends, then brought an ouzo, and then chatted. When I remembered the payment request, the waitress noted that she had informed us inside. The colleague inside knew nothing about it. Ouzo before or after is at the discretion of the host. We weren't among the chosen ones with our appetizers. Compared to my visit two years ago, the quality and service had significantly deteriorated. Top location, but disappointing in every respect

The meal didn't match what I ate. It was the shredded meat with white wine sauce, vegetables, and rice. The sauce was lumpy and thick, and it was more of a cream sauce than a white wine sauce. When I expressed my criticism to the waitress, she immediately took offense and said it was the same sauce as on the menu. In any case, it seemed to me like Maggi sauce. I don't recommend this meal.

Everything was great value for money, with a standard selection of Greek dishes. Note: Tzatziki must be ordered separately.

Overall, it was disappointing. Sure, it was crowded, but waiting over an hour for our food and having to remind them repeatedly that we wanted to pay was still annoying. Especially since we were seated right next to the counter, so we had to endure clinking bottles and glasses, clinking ice cubes, loud conversations, and sometimes arguments from the wait staff. We didn't receive a particularly friendly welcome either; we didn't feel welcome. The food was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, they didn't serve ouzo. We probably won't be back.

The location, waiting time, and quality of the food were generally acceptable. What was surprising was that taking leftover food home was apparently not possible, and the staff even attacked each other for doing so. The way this was communicated to guests was also unacceptable.

Not recommended. My daughter's Coke tasted stale, as if the bottle had been open forever. The draft beer also tasted like something was old (the keg?). The meal came without salad and was rather small. There were only two onion rings on the grill and the souvlaki plate! Everything was cooked rather carelessly and overcooked.

Positive: The service was friendly, the fries were good. Negative: The gyro in Metaxa sauce was completely overseasoned and salty, the Metaxa was not noticeable, the meat was simply tough and dry, the food wasn't hot, the baked cheese was already hard, no tzatziki, no side salad or coleslaw. It wasn't nicely presented; there wasn't a single slice of tomato or cucumber on the plate. We've never experienced anything like that before, and we've never had it served like that at a Greek restaurant. There was also no schnapps to welcome us or leave.

I ordered an appetizer plate (mese platter): 90% cheap leaf salad (from a bag?) and fried zucchini. A single olive...😂. Poor Greece!

One star is still way too many. We had reserved a table two hours before the Roland Kaiser concert. Drinks took more than an hour to arrive. The food was still nowhere in sight after an hour and a half. To avoid missing the concert, we paid for the drinks and ate a bratwurst on the concert grounds. The wait staff was overwhelmed.

...service and kitchen completely overwhelmed by the number of guests, catastrophic wait times of almost 1.5 hours, food OK, but gyros with only 3 onion rings and no tzatziki is "different" Greek; when ordering a refill of drinks, despite a steady/nice(!) hand up, I was repeatedly overlooked... or ignored - service could have been better... overall, just getting started, with plenty of time and patience... for me, definitely the first and last time, and not recommended!

The wait for the food was unusually loooong. The soft drinks weren't chilled, which was particularly unpleasant given the current temperatures. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the overall experience unfortunately didn't live up to our expectations. There was also no ouzo like we're used to.

The worst. Unfriendly waitresses who have no idea about hospitality or customer service. In the middle of ordering a drink, you're rudely escorted away from the table because the table is supposedly reserved. We specifically asked the lady beforehand. Even when we were trying to resolve the issue, she was unfriendly, rude, and grumpy. No interest in guests. Working is too much for them.

We ordered two coffees and one ice cream cone. The coffee was okay, and the wait was only about five minutes. Unfortunately, the ice cream cone wasn't ready after 30 minutes. Due to time constraints and repeated inquiries, we asked an employee if it was possible to cancel the ice cream. The response was rude, and they even added, "Talk faster." It was an unpleasant experience.

The worst visit to a Greek restaurant in Germany so far... There were five of us, and we were all disappointed. Service: You're served and processed as quickly as possible so the table can be freed. Special requests (I wanted a different side dish) weren't fulfilled despite asking. The staff weren't friendly either, and they wore such overpowering perfume that you'd wear to a club at 2 a.m. But worst of all: there was neither ouzo nor salad with the main course. And the prices are steep... The quality of the food was mixed; my bifteki tasted bland, and the cheese wasn't feta, but some kind of cream. The frozen schnitzel was good, as was the vegetarian vegetable pan, but the portions were all rather small. The best thing about the place: the location and the view of the cathedral. Conclusion: Better try another one; this reminds me of typical tourist traps.

The food was okay, but I'm used to much better from my trusted Greek restaurant. What I did miss, however, was that there was no salad with the meal, no ouzo, and the biggest surprise was this: we couldn't finish our food... we even left something on our plates so that everyone could have had another small meal... there were quite a few fries... a small portion of salad, almost all the rice, and tzatziki... We asked for it to be packed up, and they did... but we only got the raw meat... everything left on the plates wasn't packed up... but we paid for it anyway... I wonder why they do that? Where did the rest go? Questions upon questions... it was our first and last visit there! A plus point... they were friendly, and the food came quickly!

Since a large group had ordered before us (the information came from the neighboring table), it took about an hour for the food to arrive. The food was okay, but not the best gyro I've ever eaten. The portion sizes were rather small for a traditional Greek restaurant. Unfortunately, there was no ouzo as a welcome drink.

Yesterday we were 8 people. The restaurant looked well maintained. One of the waitresses (Anja, I think her name was) was really nice. Food: it was the worst food I've ever eaten at a Greek restaurant! All 8 people can confirm that the meat was either fried so tough or was way too cooked that it was dry. The garlic bread wasn't really garlic bread - somehow it was even spicy and burned your throat. We were all extremely disappointed. We also told the waitress - she couldn't help it. But we returned our plates with the meat.

Good Greek restaurant! Good menu with many dishes that Greeks themselves often eat. Had a starter platter / meze with eggplant, tzatziki, pepperoni, olives and saganaki, Greek giant beans, keftedes and of course stuffed grape leaves and taramas! A culinary highlight!

When clearing the table, the obligatory question came: "Did we enjoy it?" While my partner was answering the question, the waitress turned away to talk to another waiter. Very professional. The place is doing well, certainly because of its central location. Certainly not because of the good food or the attentive staff. Bottom line – we definitely won't be back.

Unfortunately I have to correct my review from 3 years ago. we definitely won't be coming back. We are only in Erfurt sporadically and always ate at the “Athos the Greek” restaurant, it got worse and worse and is unfortunately only below average. I hope the team can turn the corner and get back to that Restaurant becomes what it once was.

The service was friendly. What is absolutely not possible is that you are asked to leave after 1.5 hours because the table is reserved for the next guests.

This place is phenomenal. The dishes were delicious and the staff was super accommodating. We arrived with 10 people about 30 minutes before closing time. The staff made it happen and extended their hours that day. Easy to get to by tram (Strassenbahn). I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I contacted 'Arthos' by phone on Saturday 11/9/24 and ordered seats for Tuesday 11/12/24 at 11:30 a.m. The order has been taken and confirmed. When we arrived at the restaurant today, we found the door closed. No information on the door and according to the internet it should also be open. When we asked in the neighboring restaurant, we were told that the 'Arthos' only opens at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. We were very disappointed and upset. If the employees don't know their opening times, then it would make sense to at least update the website. Therefore only 1 star, if at all for the service. Luckily, there are many other options to eat well in Erfurt, which we took advantage of.

I've often had Greek food in different cities but I've never experienced a Greek where you don't get any ouzo at all, let alone a salad, the food was like that, so I see no reason to visit this restaurant again when I'm in Erfurt

That was just great, all around a great evening, food fresh and delicious. The meat was juicy, the salad was fresh and crunchy, and the tzatziki was one of the best I've ever eaten. We'll be back.

A nice, cozy atmosphere in the restaurant. The service was attentive and noticed and corrected a mistake in the kitchen itself. The food was tasty, but not a big taste explosion, rather average. Unfortunately the beer we ordered (from the bottle) was warm, which was confirmed the second time. The “usual” Greek ouzo was not served before or after the meal, but every “jeck” is different. All in all, a satisfactory visit, but not a must for a second time.

The Greek classics in perfect quality, not dripping in fat, potatoes crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, calamari buttery tender, scampi large and juicy grilled in the shell, fresh mushrooms with the vegetables... that's so Ouzo here 👍😎

Service was friendly in conversation but rather lackluster. We ordered the Olympo plate and the Byfteki. No salad, tzatziki and the usual amenities of a Greek restaurant. First of all I would like to explain my two stars for the food. The dishes were very tasty, but very small for a Greek. There was no salad. Not before eating, not with eating. The main course was fries and meat. And there were a lot of fries. I know tzatziki with yogurt and cucumber - here it was a dill dip. Our starter was really great - grilled pepperoni. Great with garlic. But here too, too little. Overall I was disappointed. Overall it was too expensive, even if it was tasty. There was no ouzo, as we know it from the Greeks. I wouldn't eat here again. The ambience was too classy for me personally. I love it more rustic. 😉

I ordered salmon and had a salad. She ate half the salad and then discovered a large black hair, called the waitress, she said it wasn’t her hair, didn’t apologize, took the salad, didn’t bring a new salad in return, and didn’t reduce the bill. I will never go there again or recommend it to anyone. I understand that anything can happen, but at least you can apologize, and not say that it’s not my hair.

Bei schönem Wetter auf der Terrasse einen Tisch gefunden. Bedienung war schnell zur Stelle und nahm die Bestellung auf. Getränke kamen im akzeptablen Zeitraum. Das Essen kam in Etappen und der zusätzliche Salat ganz zum Schluss, da war das Gyros schon fast kalt. Die Mesesplatte beinhaltete u.a. eine Miniportion Tsaziki, der leider sehr geschmacksneutral daherkam und von Zucchinis, ebenfalls geschmacksarm , dominiert wurde, Die Grillgerichte waren okay aber nicht mehr. Ein Ouzo zum Abschluss wäre schon nett gewesen, so kennen wir es, aber wir konnten auch ohne leben…….

tzatziki Nachbest. musste 3mal gemahnt werden, essen war dann schon kalt, auf Anregung das Essen schmeckt nicht griechisch, Antwort des Kellners: es ist eben deutsches Fleisch. Athos ist eine Schande. Das schlechteste Restaurant griechischer Art das ich kenne. NIE WIEDER

Food was very good! However, I find it very cheeky to charge 60 cents extra for ketchup for a meal with fries! For me, when it comes to Greek food, the ouzo is a must. You also have to pay extra for this, which I also find very sad!
