Service was friendly in conversation but rather lackluster. We ordered the Olympo plate and the Byfteki. No salad, tzatziki and the usual amenities of a Greek restaurant. Since we are from North Rhine-Westphalia, it may be that we are a bit spoiled, but gastronomy can be done differently and much better, that would be standard for us in a so-called chip ranch. And even they can do it better. Never again for us.

Unfortunately, Greek hospitality is missing. My first Greek where there was no ouzo. You had to ask for drinks. Service a bit lackluster. SHAME

Conclusion: very good service & excellent food We had reserved in advance and there were five of us. The waitress immediately came to us and took us to the table. Each of us ordered something different, from regular gyros to leg of lamb to casserole. All of the dishes tasted really excellent and the quantity on the plate was completely sufficient. We definitely recommend the Athos and would be happy to come back.

Unfortunately a disappointment in terms of food. The tomato and cucumber salad was a sliced ​​cucumber + a diced tomato. No salt, no dressing, no oil. Pure and without anything. The calamari were okay, but the price was just sad for the quantity.

First of all I would like to explain my two stars for the food. The dishes were very tasty, but very small for a Greek. There was no salad. Not before eating, not with eating. The main course was fries and meat. And there were a lot of fries. I know tzatziki with yogurt and cucumber - here it was a dill dip. Our starter was really great - grilled pepperoni. Great with garlic. But here too, too little. Overall I was disappointed. Overall it was too expensive, even if it was tasty. There was no ouzo, as we know it from the Greeks. I wouldn't eat here again. The ambience was too classy for me personally. I love it more rustic. 😉

I ordered salmon and had a salad. She ate half the salad and then discovered a large black hair, called the waitress, she said it wasn’t her hair, didn’t apologize, took the salad, didn’t bring a new salad in return, and didn’t reduce the bill. Bei schönem Wetter auf der Terrasse einen Tisch gefunden. Bedienung war schnell zur Stelle und nahm die Bestellung auf. Getränke kamen im akzeptablen Zeitraum. Das Essen kam in Etappen und der zusätzliche Salat ganz zum Schluss, da war das Gyros schon fast kalt. Die Mesesplatte beinhaltete u.a. eine Miniportion Tsaziki, der leider sehr geschmacksneutral daherkam und von Zucchinis, ebenfalls geschmacksarm , dominiert wurde, Die Grillgerichte waren okay aber nicht mehr. Ein Ouzo zum Abschluss wäre schon nett gewesen, so kennen wir es, aber wir konnten auch ohne leben…….

Today around 5:30 p.m. after a long day of swimming in Erfurt at Lake Albstedter, which is highly recommended, we wanted to stay in Erfurt and have dinner. Food was very good! However, I find it very cheeky to charge 60 cents extra for ketchup for a meal with fries! For me, when it comes to Greek food, the ouzo is a must. You also have to pay extra for this, which I also find very sad!

We were guests in Erfurt for the first time 10 years ago in 2014 and visited this restaurant back then - back then it was still without a rating from me, today it is. :-) Due to a change in the weather, we didn't sit on the terrace to eat, but instead secured a place inside. It was still relatively quiet at this time, even though it was already 5 p.m. We were greeted and assigned a table (table 09/01). We saw on the wall there that it was totally stained - it doesn't look so great for the guest in the rest of the beautiful guest room, so points are deducted here. An order: > grilled pepperoni for €5.90 > Garlic bread for €4.50 > Coleslaw for €5.00 > Suvlaki for €17.50 > Pork fillet for €19.50 > Mineral water 0.7l for €6.50 > Mavrodaphne 0.2l for €6.00 > Samos 0.2l for €6.00 The service and the food along with the price-performance ratio are acceptable for today's times and we would recommend the Athos der Greek restaurant.

Besuch am Dienstag, 18. Juni 2024 abends Das Restaurant "Athos der Grieche" in Erfurt, in idealer Domlage, ist ein griechisch-internationales Restaurant im alten Fachwerkhaus mit Stuckdecke, Gewölbekeller und Terrasse. Vor 10 Jahren 2014 waren wir bereits das erste Mal in Erfurt zu Gast und haben damals ebenso dieses Restaurant aufgesucht - damals war es noch ohne Bewertung meinerseits, heute schon. :-) Aufgrund eines Wetterumschwunges, sind wir zum Essen nicht auf der Terrasse gesessen, sondern haben uns im Innern einen Platz gesichert. Es war um diese Zeit noch relativ ruhig, obwohl es bereits 17 Uhr war. Wir wurden begrüßt und ein Tisch uns zugewiesen (Tisch 09/01). An der dortigen Wand haben wir gesehen, dass diese total fleckig war - sieht für den Gast nicht so toll aus, in dem restlichen schönen Gastraum, daher hier Punktabzug. Bestellung: > gegrillte Peperoni für 5,90 € > Knoblauchbrot für 4,50 € > Krautsalat für 5,00 € > Suvlaki für 17,50 € > Filet vom Schwein für 19,50 € > Mineralwasser 0,7l für 6,50 € > Mavrodaphne 0,2l für 6,00 € > Samos 0,2l für 6,00 € Der Service und das Essen mitsamt dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis kann man für die heutige Zeit durchwinken und wir würden das Restaurant Athos der Grieche weiterempfehlen.

The food and service were really great 👍. The one star deduction is because it was the first Greek restaurant in my life where I didn't get an ouzo on the house.

We ate there for the first time at the weekend. Unfortunately we were really more than disappointed - the portion was far too small for these prices! The only way we know it is that you get the salad separately as a starter and not on a plate with the main course. The tzatziki had to be ordered separately, which is actually rather unusual for a Greek. Some of the staff were unfriendly. The usual ouzo that you would expect from a Greek was not available here either. We wouldn't come here to eat again.

No vegetable decoration...😒 After we paid, we asked if there was no ouzo afterwards??? It doesn't exist, we can order one, which we then have to pay for. Where have we gotten to here? Lovelessly garnished plates and no ouzo afterwards... There are Greek restaurants where you can easily have an ouzo before and after and special vegetable plates, which are of course part of the meal. You'll be happy to go there again. For this you pay 21.30 euros with a small cyclist. Our CONCLUSION was: ATHOS once and never again.

Wir wollten gern mal zu dem griechischen Restaurant ATHOS. Im Restaurant fanden wir auch sofort einen Tisch. Die Bedienung ließ nicht lange auf sich warten. Eigentlich gehört doch zum griechischen Essen immer Tzaziki, in unserem Fall machte uns die Kellnerin darauf aufmerksam, dass kein Tzaziki dabei ist, falls wir das möchten, müssen wir dies extra bestellen 🤨 Gesagt - getan ...Wir bestellten EXTRA. Dann kamen die Suflakis. "Das Auge isst doch eigentlich immer mit" , die 2 Spieße mit ein paar großen Zwiebelringen, die Pommes und ein Dip lagen sehr lieblos auf dem Teller. Keine Gemüsedeko...😒 Nachdem wir bezahlt haben, fragten wir noch, ob es kein Ouzo danach gibt??? Den gibt es nicht, wir können gern einen bestellen, den wir dann bezahlen müssen. Wo sind wir denn hier hingeraten? Lieblos garnierte Teller und kein Ouzo danach... Es gibt griechische Restaurants, wo es vorher und danach anstandslos einen Ouzo gibt und extra Gemüseteller, die selbstverständlich zum Gericht gehören. Da geht man auch gern wieder hin. Dafür bezahlt man mit einem kleinen Radler 21,30 Euro. Unser FAZIT war: Einmal ATHOS und nie wieder

Das Restaurant liegt am Domplatz. Es hat viele Tische im Freien. Grosse Auswahl an Gerichten. Gute Qualität, Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Weinauswahl ist auch in Ordnung. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Friendly service, but it took far too long to bring me the menu. Delicious, freshly prepared food; I had a celebratory plate. The meat was perfectly grilled and well seasoned, the fries were also perfect. The portion was plentiful. Sitting outside is not recommended for those seeking relaxation due to the street noise.

There's no ouzo here... neither before the meal nor after... my grilled plate was ok except that there was no "sauce" with the dry meat... oh yeah, children aren't really taken into account either, if a small child approaches me as a plate pusher then they should I at least have the decency to react or answer. Overall, this was our first and last visit.

A visit to Athos, the Greek at the cathedral square in Erfurt is worthwhile, especially for two groups. For friends of Greek cuisine and for friends of architecture. The restaurant with traditional cuisine, which has everything a typical Greek promises, is located in a historic building that combines several centuries. There are several openings from the entrance to the rear, which are particularly effective in the basement. A passage to the neighboring house is visible, but curious guests can't get any further there. It is unclear why the path is blocked. In any case, the food is so good that hardly anyone would think of seeking salvation here. And even at lunchtime, shortly before the kitchen closes, guests are greeted in a friendly and attentive manner and served promptly.

Went to Erfurt for a quick visit and wanted to quickly grab something to eat. The lunchtime traffic had probably just ended, or at least that was the impression the waiter gave. The welcome was accordingly; it took a while before we could order something. Unfortunately my Alster was inedible. As usual in every Greek restaurant, there was neither a welcome ouzo nor a starter, which was okay. We had to wait quite a long time for our food and it wasn't that great. I was very surprised that we had to order everything separately. (tzatziki, sauces) No ouzo at the end. We probably weren't the appropriate clientele. It's a shame, there definitely won't be a second visit.

We were on a short vacation in Erfurt and were there on a Saturday evening. We called spontaneously and got a place for two people. The ambience in the restaurant is great. Of course, especially in the “basement” it’s something special. We were able to park right next to the restaurant. Service was very quick and very friendly. We enjoyed the food, even if my wife missed the tzatziki with the bifteki or I simply missed the classic plate that every Greek has, souvláki and gyros. So I had to choose one and took the souvláki. The appetizer of grilled pepperoni and garlic bread was very good. Garlic bread really deserves the name. The Bifteki was rather firm to the bite, but that wasn't a bad thing. The souvláki were relatively large, thick pieces, which is at least the other way I know it, but it was very juicy and tasty. The homemade dip was also very tasty. The portion size was absolutely sufficient. Absolutely ok in terms of price. For two people, each a starter, a main course and a drink less than €55. We would come again if we are in the area again.

I am impressed! I haven't had such good Greek food in a long time. The portions are just right, not too much and not too little. Company parties can be held very well here. There are additional options for this in the vaulted cellar, including a bar. We would love to come back.

Unfortunately there was no tzatziki with the gyros, which you had to order for 4.50 euros, which was a shame. There was also no ouzo like you would find elsewhere. Obwohl bei der Reservierung bekannt war, dass jemand mit Rollator kommt wurden wir in den Keller platziert.

Bin auf Grund einer Einarbeitung in Erfurt. Abendessen gehört dazu. Hab mich dann für diesen Griechen entschieden und muss sagen, es war echt super lecker 😋

Essen war ok. Tzaziki muss extra dazu bestellt werden. Kein Beilagensalat und nicht mal ein Ouzo zum Schluss. Da gibt es definitiv bessere griechische Restaurants.

Bei der Freundlichkeit vom Personal ist unbedingt noch Luft nach oben. Essen war geschmacklich gut. Preise aber unserer Meinung nach überzogen. Vorallem die Kindergerichte. Insgesamt war der Besuch ok.

Essen war ganz gut. Leider musste man Tzatziki extra dazu kaufen was eigentlich ich immer bei anderen Griechenen Restaurants mit auf dem Teller hatte. Nicht mal eine Salat Beilage. Auch kein Ouzo gab es.

Gutes Essen in tollen Ambiente, Portionen sind relativ klein. Leider gab es den wie in anderen griechischen Restaurants gewohnten geschenkten Ouzo NICHT, sondern nur gegen Bezahlung. Die Auswahl an Beilagen ist sehr dürftig. Es gibt lediglich Pommes, Reis oder Kartoffelspalten.

Kein Salat, keine Deko nur die Pommes und das Fleisch auf dem Teller war echt lieblos angerichtet. Geschmacklich war es ganz ok. Ich kenne es, dass man zumindest einen Ouzo zur Begrüßung bekommt, aber der war scheinbar alle.

Essen Geschmack sehr gut, Gyros hätte mehr sein dürfen

Der erste Grieche wo es keinen Ouzo gab, keinen Salat vorab. Wir hatten ein auf Paprika allergisches Kind mit uns, nachgefragt ob man das Fleisch nur mit Salz und Pfeffer würzen könnte. Kein Problem aber auf dem selben Teller neben und auf dem Fleisch, Pommes mit Paprika 🤷‍♀️😳geht garnicht. Essen war nicht wie ich es kenne. Muss dort nicht nochmal hin.

Leider waren die Portionen recht klein. Außerdem mussten Tzatziki und Salat extra geordert werden. Auch auf den traditionell abschließenden Ouzo mussten wir erst hinweisen. Geschmacklich war nichts auszusetzen und warten mussten wir nicht unüblich lange. Das Ambiente lädt zum längeren Verweilen ein. Wer also nicht ganz so großen Hunger mitbringt, wird vermutlich zufrieden sein.

Man muss viel Zeit mitbringen, Service und Küche sind ewig langsam. Hab (wie auch andere Gäste) etwa eine Stunde aufs Essen gewartet. Lammhaxe top, Grillgemüse flop.

Es war alles perfekt. Super Essen, große Auswahl und moderate Preise. Sehr nette Servicekräfte.

Schönes Ambiente mit durchschnittlichem Essen Wir sind spontan eingekehrt zu zweit zum Abendessen. Schöner Platz wurde sogleich angeboten. Ambiente im historischen Gebäude ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Bedienung war freundlich. Erst zum Ende, als sie frug, ob alles gut war, und wir konstruktive Kritik anbrachten, wurde Bedienung etwas eisig und demonstrativ uninteressiert. Was hatten wir zu bemängeln? Wir hatten eine Vorspeisenplatte (Meze für 1 Person) & einen Grillteller. Qualitativ alles ok ✅ Das sagten wir auch. Der Grillteller bestand konkret aus Pommes, Reis und verschiedenem Fleisch. Sonst nix, keine Soße, kein Tzaziki… Wir sagten, dass der Grillteller, zu dem meine Frau mir ihr Tzaziki-Schälchen ihrer Meze-Platte abgetreten hatte, so sehr trocken war. Die Bedienung meinte, man hätte dann Tzatziki o.ä. Extra bestellen sollen - wussten wir allerdings nicht, und wurden auch nicht gefragt. Nun war auch das Schälchen mit dem angeblich hausgemachten Tzatziki mit fragwürdigem Inhalt befüllt. Wir hätten es als Schmandcreme mit Trockenkräuter-Würzung identifiziert. Meine Frau frug also noch, was denn in dem Schälchen war, und tat ihre Verwunderung kund, dass dies Tzatziki gewesen sein sollte, nach angeblich gebräuchlich griechischem Rezept. Nun waren wir schon öfter in Griechenland, gehen zu Hause oft zum Griechen und haben sogar griechische Freunde. Das sagten wir auch, und dass trotz unterschiedlicher regionaler Küche in Griechenland doch ein Tzatziki meist besteht aus geraspelten Gurken 🥒(die da definitiv nicht drin waren), sowie griechischem Joghurt und eventuell Quark & Knoblauch/Gewürzen und reichlich gutem Olivenöl (hier hat es nicht mal eine einzige Olive 🫒 auf beide Teller geschafft). Die Beiden Bedienungen meinten, dass dies Joghurt gewesen sei nach ihrem traditionellem Tzatziki Rezept, und wendeten sich dann beide ab. Sie wollten noch wissen, woher wir kommen, und meinten, dass es in Bayern wohl andere Griechen gäbe. Dem ist auch so, die sind meist sehr herzlich, gastfreundlich, man bekommt so gut wie immer einen Ouzo vom Haus, und wir haben noch nie solche Ignoranz bei ihnen erlebt. Nunja- guter Lage und Tourismus geschuldet, hat es der Athos hier offenbar nicht nötig, auf Kunden ein zu gehen. Traurig genug, dass er mit seinem eindimensionalen, völlig einfallslosem und faden „auslandsangepasstem“ Speisenangebot ein Bild der eigentlich sehr vielfältigen und (natürlich auch regional betonten) griechischen Küche vermittelt, die dem Ursprung nicht annähernd gerecht wird. Wir sind zwar regelmäßig in Erfurt, jedoch werden wir hier nicht mehr einkehren.

Hatten den Grillteller und Gyros Spezial beides war ok aber kein Highlight. Beide Gerichte relativ fad. Getränke waren gut 👍🏽 Ambiente ist sehr schön und Bedienung nett

Es ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant Bedienung sehr freundlich kann man entpfehlen

Essen zu vernünftigen Preis. Hier hat man Ahnung von Gastlichkeit. Intresantes Gebäude innen und außen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, aber wie in Griechischen Restaurants gewohnt wird hier vor dem Essen kein Ouzo und kein Salatteller gereicht.

Wir waren heute spontan zum Abendessen dort hin gegangen. Haben auch gleich einen Tisch bekommen, das Essen selbst war gut, aber der Rest... naja. Als wir zum Anfang gefragt haben, ob wir mit Karte zahlen können, wurde dies bejat, doch als es dazu kam, ging das Gerät nicht und wir mussten doch bar zahlen. Man gut das wir noch vorher was geholt hatten. Dann als wir gefragt haben, ob sie uns den Rest zum mitnehmen einpacken können. Wurde das verneint. Sehr schade, da wir egal wo wir waren bisher den Rest mitbekommen haben. Dann stand auf der Rechnung, anstatt einem Alster gleich zwei. Obwohl ich nur eins hatte, danke für die Abzocke 🙄. Dann muss ich leider noch erwähnen, als wir auf dem WC waren, die Türverriegelung voll geschmiert war mit etwas, was ich sonst im WC hinunter spüle. Sorry aber dies ist für uns echt ein NO GO!!!!

Leckeres Essen, leider musste der Tzaziki kostenpflichtig dazu bestellt werden, ausserdem gab es kein Begrüßung-und Abschlussouzo. Sind es anders gewohnt. Schade. Bzgl des "übrig" gebliebenen Essens, ist es sehr schade das es nicht mehr mitgegeben wird. Auch wenn Packungsmaterial und Kosten eingespart wird , könnte das Essen mit geringem Aufpreis mitgegeben werden. Ansonsten schönes Ambiente und nettes Personal.
