Today we ate at Athos Palace for the first time since the change of ownership and we were thrilled. The service is friendly, considerate and accommodating. The food was warm and on point. The price is almost too cheap compared to the excellent service and quality of the food. We would like to thank you very much for the evening, especially Taransit Singh, and look forward to the next time. Great recommendation!

Phew... I don't even know where to start. We ate here in a larger group and what can I say: it was a complete disaster. For a long time there was neither ouzo nor anything normal to drink for the descendants. One had to hope that a waiter would come to our corner to order. After repeated inquiries about the ouzo, they said there were no more glasses. (?!) But then they were so friendly and put a half-open bottle of ouzo on the table. When the food was brought, the scampies were forgotten in one meal (despite the fact that this dish was ordered 3 times (!)) and another was simply completely forgotten. When this was brought in, the food wasn't quite cooked yet, so it had to be taken back to the kitchen. When the dessert was brought, one was forgotten again and after repeated inquiries they suddenly said there were no more plates. (?!) It was then served on another plate. To say something positive: The food itself was very tasty and the portions were completely sufficient. The atmosphere is very cozy and invites you to feel good. All in all, this was my first and last visit.

Friendly welcome, Ouzo as a greeting, prompt service, great ambience (live music!), Ouzo as a farewell, well and the most important thing: mega delicious food!!! We're not from Freyburg, but we'll definitely come back!

We were here today for the first time since the reopening, due to the good reviews and a recommendation. Unfortunately, we really can't make any recommendations here. The cards handed out are dirty and seemingly ancient, dishes with chipped corners, tables wobbling, different music is played in the front part of the restaurant than in the back, which is extremely annoying after 5 minutes. Unfortunately the food was a disaster, pork fillet, fish, gyros, calamari were all fried so dead that the sole of a shoe would have been easier to eat. Spices have not seen meat or fish. The branding on meat and fish tasted bitter, indicating an unclean grill/grate. The salad tasted like the container in which it was stored, and there was only a mini dollop of dressing. We will therefore not be coming back

Today we were six adults and a small child and were very enthusiastic: delicious and very plentiful food, freshly prepared and very tasty. Service was super friendly, very attentive and accommodating. Now this restaurant is worth visiting again, the change of operator was definitely worth it. We'd love to come back.

Yesterday we were in the restaurant with 9 people, we were divided into 2 tables even though we were a group and had made a reservation. Regarding the service, yes it was ok with small weaknesses. The food actually tasted good but unfortunately all of the food was cold when it was served. Really a shame! Regarding the ambience, the interiors turned out great. There's a lot of rubbish outside, mainly in the car park - you could cover it up with privacy screens and put away the old kitchen appliances that are there next to the rubbish.

Unfortunately my food wasn't that tasty. Personally, my Suflaki skewer was too well cooked and therefore very dry. I don't even know the Suflaki skewer. Otherwise the service was good.

We sat very nicely, with a view of the Unstrut. The staff is super friendly and we were immediately greeted with an Uso. The food- bifteki, gyros with metaxa, Athos potatoes and rollo as a starter. Everything is super delicious 😋. Big praise to the kitchen team! If we go back to Freyburg, we will definitely come back to Athos. Thanks to the team for the lovely evening.

Hello Achim, thank you very much for your super friendly and competent service/catering this evening. The appetizer platter was outstanding! Many greetings from the “4 wine glasses” after the after work.

We used to eat there with the club, the team and the board. With a few exceptions, we were always satisfied. On September 21st We went to dinner again with 7 people. We booked a table for 6:30 p.m. The first round of drinks came pretty quickly. A little later we were complete and the orders were taken. - Starters and main courses. An hour later... some of us went out for a smoke, 2 waiters walked past and it looked like our starters, they went to the wrong tables, luckily no one there had ordered anything like that, we pointed out to them that the dishes were ours Heard the table...the tzatziki was great. Luckily the main course didn't take long to arrive because we were hungry. The pork fillet I had was dry, unseasoned, the herb butter was tasteless, Athos potatoes used to be better too... well seasoned but very soft and mushy. There was a lot of ouzo, but that didn't make the whole experience any better. The whole team is completely restructured and disorganized, but always friendly. However, as a trained man in this industry, it hurts my heart to see something like this. 4 different waiters taking orders at one table is too much...

Excellent service, excellent food and structurally (from the ceiling height and the overall ambience) a palace. After being assigned our seats, we were immediately greeted with an ouzo for our good friends. The drinks were generous throughout the evening. I had the Poseidon plate. Everything was cooked perfectly, the tzatziki was great and the garlic potatoes are recommended to anyone who praises garlic.

Last night we had dinner at the Athos Palace at the end of our annual visit to Freyburg. However, I have to say that we were torn about whether we should really eat there. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience there last year, but that was still the old owner. That's why we thought we'd give the new owner and the restaurant a chance and it was the best thing we could do. When we got there, a small live band outside started entertaining the guests. The boss greeted us very friendly and we felt very welcome. The food came at very pleasant intervals so that you could eat your starter or salad in peace. The main courses were simply great and the meat was really on point. There was always ouzo in between and the waiters were in the mood for jokes. We can only recommend everyone to stop by there and see for yourself. We would be happy to visit this restaurant again

This is not a restaurant, it's a complete disgrace! We had reserved as a group of 15 people. And despite repeated requests that the two of them had to leave at a certain time, they actually got the food almost last and then of course left without eating! We also had to wait forever for the food. When the food came for us, some of it was almost cold, a lot of it was completely wrong and two of the meals were completely forgotten! We then found out during the meal that some of the food was spread out on other plates?! We also had to wait a long time for subsequent drinks and had to remind us several times. The waiters conveyed a complete chaos, hectic pace and pure stress! Everything is totally chaotic and nobody knows what they are actually doing. They don't listen to you! Now it's definitely enough and we'll never go here again!!

Yesterday we had family dinner with you and were again given a very friendly welcome, thank you... After an ouzo, our drinks arrived quickly, the food was freshly prepared so we were happy to wait 20 minutes. In the meantime, the nice waiter kept checking and asking about our well-being. My in-laws, who were in Athos for the first time, were very impressed by the friendliness, the great view of Unstrut and the wonderful sunset. When we are in Freyburg we are also in Athos. This is not a restaurant, it's an imposition! We had reserved as a group of 12 people. Had to wait forever for the food. When it finally came, one part was cold, another part was burnt and the fillet was so fried that you could no longer chew or cut it. The ambience was characterized by dead flower pots and plenty of cobwebs including builders in the windows. Never again!!

A nice restaurant with a good atmosphere in a good location. The menu is quite clear, but there should be something for every taste. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and the service seemed very chaotic. My chicken had hardly any flavor and was somehow quite tough, as if it wasn't cooked properly. The starter salad was also very tasteless. The food for six people arrived at a very different time, we had to ask three times for ketchup/mayo for the children's fries and the service seemed a bit disinterested and annoyed. The manager of the house was very nice and accommodating. Since the owner has just changed hands, we would give the restaurant another chance, everything will definitely have to come together a bit.

First the positive: The ambience is really nice and cozy. In addition, the boss was very friendly and accommodating. Now for the not so nice part: The service from the young lady left a lot to be desired. First the drinks came very late. The food, calamari was fried to death, came at long intervals. In addition, the poultry meat had no taste and was rather watery. We had to ask three times for ketchup for the children because they kept forgetting it. When the children had almost finished their food, the ketchup finally arrived. The young lady who served us didn't seem particularly motivated and seemed rather annoyed right from the start. It's a shame and we should work on it. The whole thing may still have to settle in as the restaurant has just been taken over. You should definitely give it a second chance later.

We wonder how this store managed to get the last few good reviews. We have never experienced such a bad Greek. No spices were used, the meat was not of good quality, the side salad looked different for each of us, and there was no dressing. We CANNOT recommend this store.

Typical Greek restaurant located right on the water. The selection was extensive, the service was good and the ouzo was tasty. It's definitely not a bad decision to eat here.

The visit to the Greek restaurant was the end of a very nice bike tour on the Unstrut. We are enthusiastic about the location of the restaurant right on the banks of the river, the very tasty food, the fast and attentive service and the ambience of the restaurant. Lange angemeldet kamen wir dann doch ungeplant ins Restaurant, da hier der Besitzer inzwischen gewechselt hatte. Jedoch recht unkompliziert war es möglich am Samstagabend für 10 Personen einen Tisch zu erhalten und wie man leckeres griechisches Essen kennt, mit Vorspeisen, Getränken und Ouzo serviert zu bekommen. Das Team des Restaurant Athos war sehr eifrig, machte einen netten, jungen Eindruck. Als Überraschung zum Geburtstag, welcher unser Anlass war, gab es Platten mit Eiskugeln, Melone, Orangen und Kerzen! Das war ein sehr schöner Ausklang! Wir sagen "Danke" und wünschen dem Team zum Neustart "Alles Gute".

A nice restaurant with a nice ambience. The food tastes delicious. Unfortunately there are some problems with the simplest orders, which is a shame and makes me never want to go to this restaurant again.

The food was okay, it took some time (about 45 minutes) until the starter came. The main course came pretty quickly. The service from the employees was great. However, some of the group wanted to go smoke in between. The boss offered us a table to sit down while smoking. The second time we went to smoke we were turned away from the terrace and told by the boss that we were not welcome. An absolute “no go” if you offer seating beforehand. Not recommended.

A Greek as you would expect. In the rear winter garden you have a fantastic view and the food is typically Greek. The 2-3 ouzos on the house don't hide the fact that courteous service isn't exactly a priority.

Absolutely subterranean behavior and endless waiting times. But we didn't even get to eat because the managing director was so arrogant, cheeky and disrespectful. We love going out to eat often, but I have never been treated in such a condescending and completely unfriendly manner!!! Apparently you as a woman, even as a paying guest, are not worth much to this gentleman. With a man at the table you will definitely be treated differently. This person has completely missed his job. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

We just wanted to eat something, but unfortunately it was a very unpleasant experience. The manager was very unfriendly to us (we were 4 women). He probably has a problem with women. He is arrogant and arrogant and when we asked if he could open a window on the terrace things got out of hand. He answered arrogantly that we should pay €5 and didn't open the window. This wasn't a joke like we first thought. He continued to be unfriendly. We decided to leave the restaurant because the food we ordered took a long time to arrive. It was just too much and everything wasn't hospitable. He even apologized when he realized we were leaving. Very bad service. That's not how you treat guests

This is a great place to stop off and choose from a variety of dishes. The service was perfect and everyone was friendly. The portions were generous and each meal came with a salad plate.

It's a shame, we experienced a very unfriendly reception in the restaurant, which was 70% full, after we sat down at a free table (no reserved sign): "Have you reserved?" Our answer: "No, but we are hungry and thirsty and have money with us." The waitress promised to find us another table, but suddenly didn't have time for us. With an apology for our harassment, we said goodbye to the boss and took our money to the nearby “Zum Künstlerkeller”. We felt very comfortable there...

We came here with 8 people on Saturday evening before a concert. The staff was friendly and helpful. The dishes we ordered were really delicious and the price-performance ratio was right. Here you can really feel comfortable and enjoy your time.
