Super delicious food, huge portions. A wide selection, and the price/performance ratio is definitely right. Elsa and Tadi are super friendly and welcoming hosts. If we're ever in Hamburg again, we'll be back.

The food is wonderful and the service is very good!

We were there as a family and ate in the beautiful garden – a truly wonderful atmosphere. The food was freshly prepared and very aromatic. The injera, dessert, and Ethiopian coffee were absolute highlights, and we also loved the red wine. We thought the price was very fair for the great quality. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to come here once a month – it's becoming our little family ritual!

My girlfriend and I went to the Ethio Restaurant and had a wonderful evening. The food was fresh, flavorful, and sharing the large platter was a real treat. The injera and Ethiopian coffee at the end were particularly special. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy – we'd love to come back!

An excellent experience of east africa 🌍 Ethopia. Truly they brought the culture in the west of Europe. I felt so Home since the cuisine is exactly like east indian. The chicken curry with egg is 💯 the same as my hometown. They have the plate for 2 or more to share. Surely for us it was too much. I recommend to take it if you vising first time. The service is out of the chart. The waiters are friendly and patient. The colorful designs are eye-catching. The Meister visited us specially to check how we are doing if anything is required!!! We loved the evening 🌃. I recommend visiting. As I am going to visit again.

The food was amazing and the potions are really good we got really full but we also feel that every euro spent was absolutely worth every bite. My girlfriend and I Share the Starter and We Got the Mix Platte for Two and I can Only say the starter was phenomenal full of fresh fruit, and a lovely green salad with the most amazing dressing. The mixed platter for two was really nice because you got to try a little bit of everything on the menu. My girlfriend isn’t a fan of parsley, but I love parsley so if you are a parsley lover, they don’t go overboard, but the Flavas are really balanced, and if you are not a parsley lover, then I would recommend asking the chef to skip the parsley But overall, an awesome experience, a very welcoming adventure into a new food, culture and excellence service, and customer orientated Restaurant. I would have loved to give a bigger tip, but they only accept tips in cash so take that into consideration because I wish I had more cash on me

We received a very friendly welcome, and since we'd never eaten Ethiopian food before, we asked for a recommendation. They recommended what I thought was the best. A platter for two people with a wide variety of items from the menu. Of course, they also accommodated our other requests, like not spicy or lamb. We'd love to come back next time we're in Hamburg :)

A true highlight in Hamburg! Friends recommended this restaurant to us. The restaurant not only offers incredibly delicious and authentic Ethiopian food, but also a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Visiting feels more like an experience than a typical restaurant meal—almost as if you're being invited to a friend's home. The many vegetarian options and surprisingly good cocktails are particularly great—the Gin Basil Smash and Espresso Martini are highly recommended. The owners take great care of their guests and make the evening truly special.

Last night I had dinner at Ethio, and I have to say: it was really a great experience! As soon as you enter you can feel the warm atmosphere - cozy and inviting. The interior is lovingly designed, with many traditional elements that immediately make you want to try Ethiopian cuisine. The menu offers a nice selection of dishes and I opted for a mixed platter so I could try as much as possible. The various lentils, vegetables and meat dishes were extremely seasoned, had an intense taste and were served on the typical Ethiopian flatbread, injera. I found the spicy lentil sauce particularly tasty – I could have easily eaten more of it! The service was also great: very friendly, attentive and always with a smile. You felt completely at home and were happy to explain something about the individual dishes. If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, Ethio is definitely the right place. I'll definitely be back!

Eight of us had dinner and it was simply fantastic! Although we arrived a little early and our tables were logically not ready, we received a warm welcome. Within seconds the tables were prepared for us. The food was excellent and so were the drinks. You really feel welcome here! When the wonderful host heard that our friend was celebrating his 40th birthday, he played “Happy Birthday” in the background, quickly set out glasses and offered us a bottle of really delicious Prosecco. We clapped, sang and the host was happy for us. We have never experienced such hospitality! This experience went far beyond good food, it was balm for the soul. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back.

We went with the recommendation of our friends, although I don't like Ethiopian cuisine very much, the food was more delicious than I expected, the environment and the backyard are very nice.

Syphatic owner who honestly recognized a booking error (overcharge) himself and corrected it without being asked. Price-performance ratio is also very good👍

We were just here for the first time and we loved it! Excellent food, lots of it, the two of us were full and didn't manage to eat anything! We were welcomed very courteously, looked after and introduced to the customs (eating with fingers). But cutlery is also available upon request. “It tastes best with your fingers,” they said WE WILL COME BACK and bring friends with us!

Huge drawback, however: we ordered a mixed plate for three (for around 60 euros) and unfortunately I can't describe the amount of vegetables and legumes served (really not expensive products) as anything other than outrageous. Maybe the other dishes are bigger, but I can't judge that.
