A good, large, and beautiful restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere. The value for money could be better. €5 for a 0.4l Sprite is too much in my opinion, especially when the dishes are already quite expensive. The Athens platter pictured costs €19.50.

We spontaneously visited Restaurant Athen on a Thursday evening and were completely thrilled! The service was exceptional: three friendly and attentive employees looked after us. You rarely experience such warmth and attention these days. The food arrived quickly and tasted excellent. We particularly appreciated that the portions weren't oversized – so there was even room for a delicious dessert. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and simply delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting; we felt very comfortable. If we're ever in Eisenach again, we'd definitely love to come back. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates delicious Greek cuisine and great service!

I attended a birthday party at Restaurant Athen and, as always, was very satisfied. The food was exceptionally delicious, fresh, and plentiful – just as I've come to expect here for years. The restaurant also offers a great option for larger groups, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The convenient parking on-site is also convenient. A lovely place for cozy evenings as well as parties – highly recommended!

The service and food were very good. Overall, the ambiance was nice, but I was always a bit bothered by the bright lighting and the loud conversations in the restaurant.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while passing through. The staff knows all of their regulars. But even we, as complete strangers, received incredibly warm service right from the start. Highly recommended! It's truly old-school when it comes to treating guests. The food was plentiful and very good. Top-notch!

We ordered a gyro salad because it was very warm...it came with a side salad and a small portion of gyro...only €16.00! Luckily, we'd ordered bread with it, so we were somewhat full. The only person who was friendly was the cashier...normally, you get asked if you were satisfied, but no such luck! So we decided not to get into a pointless discussion. Nobody cares. But maybe the next guests will be warned. We relied on the positive feedback...unfortunately!

The restaurant is very popular, so it was very busy. We had made a reservation, which I would recommend to anyone. Despite that, the staff are very attentive and friendly. It would be even better if there were no parking fees.

We went out to dinner with friends and brought our almost 2-year-old child with us. The food was very good, and despite the crowd, the service was very quick. However, I still deducted some points because, unfortunately, there wasn't even a changing table, so I had to change my child on the bench behind the table.

Hello, The three of us ate here today Unfortunately we were very disappointed, the starter of beans with cheese gratin was unfortunately only beans and cheese in the form of 5 crumbs of feta on it but not gratinated. Unfortunately, the main course didn't meet our expectations at all, the liver was tough and the pork was dry, the rice was, well, you could use rice with ketchup and that's it. For me there is more to it. Even an apology for this misdeed was probably asking too much just to say that everyone eats it so it's always the same every day. Maybe I'm too spoiled by good restaurants, we definitely won't be coming back.

Ended up here by unfortunate coincidence - absolutely thrilled! We didn't make a reservation because we actually wanted to eat somewhere else and thought it wouldn't be that difficult for two people to find a place to eat at short notice - we were turned away at the other Greek restaurant and ended up in Athens...what can I say? We were absolutely thrilled! A table was made available for us at short notice, the service was super friendly and the food was on the table quickly - despite the crowd in the restaurant! And also absolutely delicious and recommended. Price/performance ratio absolutely okay! Since we travel from Lübeck every year for the Eisenach summer prize, we already know where we will reserve a table from next year 😉 Thank you for the great food! We'll definitely be back! You can't fault the food. The service is quite nice and the atmosphere seems a bit too Greek

I would have liked to give more stars but unfortunately that would be far from the truth. The four of us had dinner there on New Year's Eve at 8 p.m. The reservation was uncomplicated. It was uncharacteristically empty, but that made it more harmonious. After we had finished with the good food, we were ignored for an incredible 43 minutes (other tables had long since wanted to pay) and everything was empty of drinks. There really wasn't enough going on at that point for us to understand. So long story short, food expensive but great. Service was very bad for that day. If this is not the rule, we can recommend this restaurant.

Ich war schon Ewigkeiten nicht mehr in diesem Restaurant, ist halt nicht mein bevorzugtes griechisches Restaurant. Nun war ich von Freunden eingeladen worden und war deshalb hier. Ich muss sagen, das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Service war gut, es waren sehr viele Kellner im Restaurant unterwegs und man hatte nie den gleichen Kellner am Tisch. Der eine nahm die Bestellung auf, der nächste brachte die Getränke, leider den falschen Wein. Aber es wurde sofort korrigiert. Der große Raum des Restaurants erinnerte mich eher an einen Wartesaal statt an ein Restaurant, dadurch war es in meinen Augen etwas ungemütlich.

It's time to rate this restaurant...our favorite Greek restaurant for 30 years. The food is always great and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Even under stress, when all tables are full, they give their best. Whether we come as a couple or have a family celebration, we are always very happy

Since it was busy, the many waiters made a very sedate and hectic impression. It's also a shame that the variety and ingredients of the salad have shrunk significantly. No more corn, no more olives, no more pepperoni.

Even late in the evening there are nice words with the team.

The waiters usually talk VERY loudly in their local language and are quite intrusive, which is quite annoying. Food was carelessly slapped onto the plate and after eating we were told quite clearly that we had to leave the restaurant so that the table could be passed on. Mass processing... Not suitable for staying

We have been eating there every time we are in Eisenach for 30 years and it has always been very good.

We really come here often. Now it's just mass production. Everything quickly so that the next paying guests can come. The portions are getting smaller and smaller, even though the prices have risen significantly. Things haven't been beautifully prepared here for a long time.

We were at the Athens restaurant on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy, but we had reserved. Actually. Unfortunately, despite being spelled out, the name was written down quite creatively when making the reservation, so finding it in the reservation book was a bit complicated and involved a lot of guess work. But we got a place. Without any big words, we were given a simple folding card that... the map on the internet and the map posted at the entrance was very much reduced. Our first thought was: Yikes - is the inside of the card missing? When we asked whether you could order a specific dish from the website menu, we were simply told "no, it's not possible". A short explanation why (e.g. because it's so full, because there are no staff or the fridge couldn't cope with the time change) would have been nice. So the only impression left was: There's probably a new, shortened map - and they probably forgot to publish it. There were three of us and everyone had to choose something new because the original dish they wanted wasn't available on the shortened menu. What ended up on the table could have been presented a little nicer, but it was tasty - and everyone was full. So we went home full, but not completely happy.

Wanted to eat there. We politely asked if a table was available even without a reservation. Whereupon we were told in an extremely unfriendly manner what would occur to us to ask such a thing. Therefore only one star. The food might have made it back, but we didn't get that far. Therefore the conclusion is unfriendly and impolite

Great Greek restaurant. Very good food and first class service. The guest has been king here for 30 years. Always a kind word on your lips. Empty glasses don't stay empty for long, despite a full house.

If you want to eat something after eating at home, you should go here. Take the starter for 2 people 16.00 euros. The woman had the fish platter for 20 euros and I had gyros in metaxa sauce for 17 euros. Pay and then eat your fill at home. FISH PLATE 2 pieces but completely dry, probably left over from lunch. Gyros in metaxa sauce in a flat, round 3 cm high dish covered with indefinable white, chewy mass. No, unfortunately this is a rip-off and for us there is no repeat factor. If you want to spend a lot of money for little performance, this is the place for you. Even people at the next table looked at each other and asked themselves whether this was still normal.

This evening we went out to eat again after a long time and were bitterly disappointed. We felt like we were in a fast food restaurant...food was lukewarm and not really seasoned in the typical Greek way...everything just tasted salty. A second drink didn't come even after repeated requests... Food was simply thrown away...service was zero and staff unfriendly...everything was processed quickly. There is absolutely no relationship between price and performance... You won't see us there again!!! Unfortunately we had to give it one star otherwise we wouldn't have been able to post it...negative stars would be correct.

Das Essen schmeckt wunderbar, die Portionen sind sehr groß, der Salat ist wirklich ein Hammer. Ich war schon 5 Mal hier, und das einzige was auffällt, dass die Kellnern leider nicht so gut auf Deutsch sprechen. Wir haben schon oft statt Reis Pommes gewünscht, leider noch nie erfüllt, aber immer versprochen. Aber wir werden zurückkommen, es ist wirklich ein super Restaurant, und ich kann nur empfehlen.

Best Greek Restaurant I've ever been in. We've been here 5 times already during the last 1 year and the taste is always spectacular. We usually order the menu for 2-people, which always makes us full. They also take suggestions (for example switching lamb for another meat). The prices are also alright. We will 200% come back later and already thought about holding our wedding in the restaurant as well, cause the service is top of the line. One tiny suggestion would be on our regards: We politely asked to switch the rice on our menu for more Fries, however unfortunately it doesn't go through, we're not sure if it's mandatory or not, but it would be a better experience (icing on the cake at this point). The service is one of the fastest I've ever experienced, so I wish great success for this restaurant in the future as well! :) Pay a visit, it's worth it! (The Restaurant also looks gorgeous, thumbs up for the design).

Ein ganz großes Lob an alle Mitarbeiter vom Athen. Wir waren gestern mit 22 Leuten in dem griechischen Restaurant und es hat alles super geklappt. Die Bedienung war freundlich und das Essen kam für alle fast gleichzeitig. Es war auch sehr lecker. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Wir gehen sehr gerne ins Athen zum Essen… war einmal mit meiner Freundin Samstags und einmal mit unserer Abteilung zur Weihnachtsfeier Freitags zum Abendessen dort… wir haben beide Male vorher reserviert, wegen Weihnachtszeit… auch sonst ist es dort sehr gut besucht und man sollte vorher vorsichtshalber einen Tisch reservieren… wenn es nicht zu viele Person sind, bekommt man, wenn man Glück hat, am Wochenende auch so mal einen Tisch… das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend, es wurde nachgefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist oder ob man noch Wünsche hat… das Essen kam schnell trotz vollem Restaurant, wir mussten nicht lange auf unser Essen warten… die Portionen sind reichlich und zu den meisten Essen bekommt man noch einen kleinen Salat serviert… klare Weiterempfehlung von mir/uns…

Waren in Eisenach auf dem Burg Weihnachtsmarkt, kommen aus Kassel und haben spontan in diesem Restaurant angerufen. Haben noch ein Tisch bekommen und sind mir dem Service und besonders mit dem Essen sehr zufrieden.

Unser absoluter Lieblingsgrieche in Eisenach! Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber und sehr schick und gleichzeitig gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Essen ist super lecker und es gibt eine große Auswahl, da ist wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei!
