Fantastic place. Incredible food, great and friendly service, quick without being rushed. The complimentary ouzo & salad & coffee was a really lovely touch. And the fruit juice shot for our daughter so she wasn’t left out was incredibly thoughtful. Can’t fault this place, wonderful quality food, reasonable cost, top service. Recommend!

Two of us ate here. The staff were generally pleasant, but after being shown to our table, we were forgotten for a moment, and neither the menu nor our order was brought to us. Later, after placing our order, we received the wrong food. When we pointed this out to the staff, they said they had entered a number incorrectly into the machine. The waitress told us to be more careful next time to make sure the number was entered correctly. It was her responsibility to take our order accurately, and she never apologized for it and even blamed us. We won't go there again. The food wasn't particularly tasty, and we find it extremely brazen that we, as customers, were blamed for the waitress's poor job.

It was not the first time that we dined there and everytime we get out you can see a happy smile! The food is beyond perfect and the staff was very nice. If you decide to visit Berlin you must visit this place! The atmosphere was fantastic and the owner was a true gentleman for asking us everytime for anything! We will come again and this is a promise! 🥂

I ate here in 2018 and wasn't happy with the prices. The restaurant deleted my review, in which I tried to be extremely accurate. This distorts reality, and only positive reviews remain. Make up your own mind.

We ate at this Greek restaurant today, and it was simply fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, especially the appetizer—pepperoni with garlic—was a real highlight. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the ouzo was generously refilled 😉. An all-around successful afternoon/evening—we'd love to come back!

Great Greek restaurant. The price is right, the gyro is juicy and delicious, the portions are generous, and the ouzo is often refilled. After our Greek restaurant unfortunately declined in quality, this is now our favorite Greek restaurant! We've had absolutely no bad experiences so far. The service is also super friendly!

WE SAW A RAT From the moment we arrived, the waitress wasn't friendly, but the food was good. The problem started when we saw a rat hiding between the chairs in the middle of the dining room. When we reported the situation, they told us it was normal since they were in front of the train. They never apologized for the situation, but instead said it was normal and that rats usually leave. We were quite shocked and couldn't eat anymore. Again, no one apologized or seemed surprised; they offered us takeout and charged us for it.

RATS INSIDE THE RESTAURANT - MUST READ!!! We had just started eating when we suddenly saw a rat running around inside the restaurant, hiding between the chairs and tables. We were so disgusted we couldn’t continue eating. We immediately complained to the waitress, and shockingly, she told us that it was “normal” because the restaurant is near a train station. Are you serious? There was no apology, no responsibility taken — she only offered to pack our food to go and still made us pay the full price, without even a small discount for the situation. If there are rats walking freely in the dining area, I can only imagine what goes on in the kitchen… We asked to speak to the manager. He was standing at the entrance, smoking and watching videos on his phone, and said the same thing — that “it happens” and that there was nothing he could do. Again, no apology, no compensation, no professionalism. We should have refused to pay. Instead, we spent €50 on one of the worst dining experiences of our lives. We will never return, and I will make sure none of my friends ever go there. I strongly demand a full refund and recommend others stay away from this place.

Arriving at 9 PM with a reservation only to find no staff around was certainly an unwelcome start, and having to wait for someone to eventually appear and casually tell me to "pick any table" set a rather chaotic tone. It was frustrating when something as basic as receiving menus took an unreasonable amount of time, and it sounded like the waiter who eventually took our order was completely out of his depth, especially regarding questions about sides. The complimentary Ouzo, a small nod to the Asteria I once knew, must have offered a fleeting moment of hope before the long wait began. With a half-hour passing and still no sign of drinks, salads, or any other part of our order, it's clear the service was completely adrift, especially considering the restaurant wasn't even busy. Discovering our waiter fiddling on his mobile phone while genuinely surprised that our drinks hadn't arrived simply added insult to injury. I had to wonder who he expected to serve them if not him! We left. I'm questioning whether this is even run by the same owners, given the complete lack of familiar faces and the significant drop in quality. What was once a nice neighborhood Greek has, unfortunately, become a truly dreadful experience. I won't be returning, there are so many better restaurant options in Prenzlauer Berg.

This used to be our regular! It was packed every day, and you could always get a seat. Incredibly friendly crew – but they've changed. It's crazy how a good restaurant can be run down so quickly. We were there twice now, and... It's just too bad!

No card payments possible at the tourist mile? It's fine with cheating the tax office, but it's simply lousy customer service.

Nice Greek dishes freshly made (may take some time, so this place is not for a quick snack in between) and the portions are large. I was hungry and needed to take half of my delicious Moussaka home because the starter was almost a full dish. Careful: they only accept cash, which almost bit me.

Delicious food, the dishes are very generous (we ordered takeout), the food was fresh, and the atmosphere is pleasant. You really feel like you're in Greece. I highly recommend it ⭐️

We were a bit skeptical due to the touristy location on Schönhauser Allee. The service was fast and friendly, the food was plentiful, and it was the best Greek food I've ever had in Berlin. Addendum: Even after several years, Asteria is highly recommended. The food is still delicious and the service is very friendly.

After a long day at the Berlin Zoo, this beautiful family owned restaurant is a great place for dinner. Beautiful atmosphere, great and friendly staff and the food is to die for. Menu in multiple languages. Special requests taken for picky children. A great place to relax and have a dinner.

This is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. The portion sizes are massive for the price. I had to ask if I misunderstood the price, it was that affordable. The food was lovely, very juicy and savoury. The staff were excellent, very kind and helpful. It is a cash only restaurant so make sure you bring enough but that's not a criticism because the restaurant is perfect.

Our service was incredibly friendly. We immediately felt at home. We had an appetizer and a platter for two. The portions were mind-blowing. Even though we were quite hungry, we couldn't finish it no matter how hard we tried. After the platter, we were given dessert on the house...🥰and then we were able to roll home feeling completely full 😁 Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Dry food. Has nothing in common with Greek cuisine. The staff explains that this is a German style of Greek cuisine.

So, as a group, we had a reservation at the Greek restaurant Asteria, where we'd been wanting to go for a long time, starting at 4 p.m. Absolutely super-friendly, attentive staff, ouzo flowing freely until you finally said stop, delicious food in oversized portions, a toilet up a flight of stairs, and a reminder of your water level... One minor drawback: it was hard to see that only cash payments were accepted, so no debit cards. Regardless, we had a great time and would gladly come back. EISERN

Puff pastry wasn't crispy, the meat was dry, and the gyro was full of gristle. Ordering instructions were ignored. A disaster, the worst Greek restaurant I've ever ordered from. What does the chef actually do for a living?

Huge portions but some of the meat was pretty overcooked. Tzatziki, on the other hand, is very tasty. Service was very attentive. If you want, you can have ouzo filled on the house, so you'll forget the doneness more quickly...

Food and service is top I don't understand why there is still a restaurant in such a tourist area where card payment is not possible?

I tried their veal liver which was really good. Their garlic and Cucumber yogurt is AMAZING. The portions are huge and they offered a small complementary salad at the beginning. They also offered us a shot in the beginning and a yogurt dessert at the end. The staffs are attentive and quick. True greek hospitality. Such restaurants are now scarce. Will definitely come back here!

Went to a Greek restaurant for the first time, food was good, dessert was a bit sweet but still tasty. They kept refilling the ouzo for free. Their staff were super friendly and always checking if we needed anything.

They only accepted cash but we saw the previous customers paying by card. The kind waiter told us where the nearest ATM was. So I went and came back to pay.

An all around fantastic experience! The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a typical Greek style - you immediately feel like you're on vacation. The atmosphere is perfectly accompanied by pleasant Greek music. The food is simply outstanding: very tasty, freshly prepared and the portions are really generous. We were particularly impressed by the many small touches from the house - a great gesture that you don't experience everywhere. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend this restaurant!

Solid visit to a modern Greek restaurant with a dark, purple ambience. The food was OK, the service friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a mess when serving - some plates were given to the wrong person, which we had to sort out ourselves at the table. The Greek music in the background was nice and added to the atmosphere. Lots of seating, which can make it seem a bit big and impersonal. There is a noticeable draft in the lower area when the entrance door is opened. Uzo came automatically and was refilled when requested. At the end there was a small dessert or espresso - all on the house.

I went to dinner with my boyfriend on March 21st for my birthday, and I was surprised with three scoops of ice cream 🍨 and two lit sparklers. I was so overwhelmed, I was speechless because I wasn't expecting it. The food was great, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. If I'm ever in Berlin again, we'll go there again. I've never met people like that on Lake Constance, where I come from. Thanks for the nice surprise.

Good food with large portions, good value for money. Ouzo is always given as a gift and at the end we have Greek yoghurt on the house. Ambiance a bit from the 90s, concept not entirely consistent with the design. The big negative point is the lack of card payment!!! This is not pointed out. Just a small sign somewhere on the window (not on the door). Something like that is out of date and then you actually ask yourself what the real reason for paying in cash only is. The criticism is then reacted somewhat stubbornly.

Nice Greek restaurant with some adult menus

On a snowy day I visited the restaurant with a friend and were immediately greeted with an ouzo! Didn't have to wait long for food and drinks. The food was very good and I have nothing to complain about, the meat “bifteki & grill plate” are particularly worth mentioning! Excellent!! I'll definitely be back so see you soon and thank you very much! :) P.S. Only cash payment is possible, please have the information changed to co on Google.

Ouzo is still available here! Top! The only star deduction is that payment is only possible in cash! #CashOnly And for dishes around 20 EUR, you should also offer card payment.

Food was terrific!! After a while we even got a better table, it was a bit cold at the door but that's due to the winter. Ouzo pot on the house, dessert on the house, music in the background. Nice atmosphere!! I can only recommend it..

That was awesome for you! The place was packed to capacity and we got food that was incomparable. Everything was cooked to perfection, tasted perfect and the meat was of excellent quality. Service quite overwhelmed but still very, very friendly and accommodating. Had to wait a little longer, but not so tragic. In the meantime we were basically filled with ouzo. Please do something on the menu, draft beer or black beer from the bottle, which was declared exactly as such, is not possible in a professionally run restaurant. Live music was very great and really gave us a little trip to Greece, thank you for this great evening.

A great address in Berlin The Asteria in Prenzlauer Berg is a highlight every time I am in Berlin! The food is sumptuous and of the highest quality, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. What's particularly nice is that the ouzo continues to be poured until you turn the glass over - a really charming detail! A small note: It can sometimes be a bit drafty at the entrance, but this hardly affects the cozy atmosphere and the great overall experience. Overall, a wonderful place that I can only recommend to everyone – I always enjoy coming back!

The restaurant is solid. The furnishings are quite nice, but also hall-like, so it can be loud at times. The service is friendly and attentive. The prices are a little higher, but reasonable in relation to the portion size. All in all, I personally didn't think the food was spicy enough, but that's a matter of taste.

When I'm in Berlin, this Greek place is an absolute must. Great and friendly service who attach great importance to service. There is plenty of food and ouzo here. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right. Always my pleasure.

Excellent Greek cuisine is offered here. The portions are more than sufficient and the service is clearly characterized by Greek hospitality and warmth. My tip is always garlic potatoes, if you like that sort of thing.

If you fancy a mountain of grilled food, you have to go to Asteria. Perfectly prepared, juicy, accompanied by a drink of your choice. The guys already provide almost too much ouzo for free. There are also other classics of Greek cuisine. In the summer outside on the Schönhauser. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to make a reservation...

Super friendly service, the food was served quickly and was very tasty. It was our first time there and we will eat there again next time we visit Berlin.

It was my first time in this restaurant, and I am totaly keep koing there, at the starting point we had to wait for around 5 minutes, and ofcourse I think it was because we were there on friday night but it was worth waiting. Super kind behavior of staff, great music, super delicious food would and special snaps that they keep bringing would definitly make the night. We enjoyed or night there, and strongly suggested. But dont forget to reserve a table before, cause they are busy.
