Rating for ΤΕΛΩΝΕΙΟ Greek Taverna – A successful spontaneous New Year’s Eve On December 31, 2024, my wife and I were looking for a spontaneous New Year's Eve dinner in Berlin-Spandau. Since we didn't start planning a dinner until very late, our only option was to look for an open restaurant locally. With the help of Google we found the tavern ΤΕΛΩΝΕΙΟ Greek Taverna and quickly decided to try our luck there. Ambience and reception When we arrived in front of the restaurant, we knocked on the door to ask for a free seat. Despite the busy New Year's Eve, we received a warm welcome from the waitress. She asked us to wait a moment and clarified whether it was still possible to accommodate us. After a short consultation, we were offered a place, with the information that time was limited - a completely understandable restriction that we happily agreed to. The restaurant made a very tidy and cozy impression on us. The atmosphere was typically Greek without being overwhelming. It was a welcoming place where you could immediately feel at home. Menu and drinks The menu was well sorted and clear, which we found very positive. There was a fine selection of starters, main courses and desserts, complemented by a selection of Greek wines and other drinks. For us, the offer was exactly right: not overloaded, but well thought out and focused on quality. Our order and the food We chose octopus and pepperoni as a starter and lamb crown and braised lamb as our main course. • Starters: The octopus tasted very good, but was a little tough. As someone who has caught and prepared octopus myself, I know how challenging it can be to prepare. However, this did not spoil our overall impression as the taste was convincing. The pepperoni was excellent and complemented the starters. • Main courses: The lamb dishes were the highlight of our evening. Both the lamb crown and the braised lamb were of first class quality, perfectly cooked and very tasty. The spices and preparation reminded us of the best Greek tavernas we have visited while traveling. service Particularly noteworthy is the extremely friendly and quick service. Despite the high occupancy on New Year's Eve, we were attentively and warmly looked after. The staff made us feel welcome, which further enhanced the entire evening. Price-performance The price-performance was absolutely fine. The quality of the food and the service fully justified the prices, especially given the spontaneous visit and the busyness of the evening. Conclusion Our spontaneous visit to the ΤΕΛΩΝΕΙΟ Greek Taverna was a complete success. The restaurant impressed with a pleasant atmosphere, high-quality food and extremely friendly service. Although we came without a reservation and at the last minute, we were warmly welcomed and were able to enjoy a successful New Year's Eve. We would like to thank the entire team at the tavern once again and can recommend the restaurant without reservation. We'd love to come back!

It's a really nice, cozy restaurant. The food is standard but good. The staff was great. I deducted a star because, because the restaurant is so small, the noise is louder than in a train station. You had to shout at each other. But I would still go again.

Very nice and friendly restaurant. The hospitality is impressive, courteous and friendly, special requests are fulfilled, the restaurant is very clean, there is no smell or smell from the kitchen. The food offered is fresh and very tasty. It is authentic, Greek cuisine without any ifs and buts. The entire atmosphere is inviting and radiates great satisfaction. There's nothing to complain about. I recommend Taverna Teloneio without reservation. A very good insider tip in Spandau near Berlin!!!

The food was really more than good, great staff, very cozy atmosphere. The only problem was that we could smell the toilet smell right up to our table. This is not possible at all and should be prevented at all costs.

Very good food with decent portions. Beer was ok, but nothing special. Unfortunately it's a bit reverberant, which quickly makes it very loud. But good food at a fair price. And very tasty ouzo at the end.

We came across this restaurant via Google search. However, we had to wait about 15 minutes because the indoor area wasn't actually open. But the wait was worth it, it sits so beautifully in the garden under the trees. And when it gets dark there are no bright lights, candles are simply put up and the light that comes in from the street is simply romantic. The staff was really friendly even though they were really stressed. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. I can only recommend the taverna. Wanted to go there again on August 24th, 2024. Unfortunately we tried in vain to make a reservation by phone the day before, so we tried the whole thing by email. Unfortunately we didn't even get an answer. Today we finally got through after 10 unsuccessful attempts and then unfortunately discovered that there were no seats left for the evening. The reservation process simply has to be better and especially if you write by email that you will get at least one cancellation. For this reason I will now deduct two points for the service

We were there last week before a concert at the Spandau Citadel and it was really great. Very nice atmosphere, super nice staff and the food was really tasty. Unfortunately, this "tavern" is not around the corner from us because it is 200 km away, otherwise we would eat here regularly. We were lucky with a free table but it's definitely better to reserve in advance.

Wir kommen seit der Eröffnung sehr oft und gerne hierher. Das Essen ist großartig - egal ob kalte oder warme Vorspeisen, Moussaka, gegrillter Fisch / Oktopus oder die Fleischgerichte - wir haben schon alles durchprobiert und waren immer begeistert. Der Service ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Im Sommer kann man wunderbar draußen sitzen, Reservierung wird besonders am Wochenende empfohlen.

The beautiful, small, cozy Greek restaurant in the old customs house is a recommendation! We sat outside - nice in the countryside next to a small stream. Unfortunately we didn't make a reservation and so we barely managed to get a spot. Due to the limited number of seats, it is advisable to register in advance by telephone. The service is extremely friendly and was able to respond competently to our requests and questions. In addition to the Greek house wine, we also recommend the appetizer of garlic bread with tzatziki dip. For the main course we chose gyros and bifteki with baked potatoes and fries respectively. All portions were plentiful. Extra requests were also responded to in a very friendly manner. This will definitely be our new “home Greek”.

Well then, nice waiter, nice boss...😉😁 But: No matter what order you made, it took longer than usual. The food was warm, edible and corresponded to the description on the menu. Nobody can help the smell of the adjacent river if you sit right next to it. However, it seems strange to me that out of 4 people who were allowed to dine there, 3 of them were immediately rewarded with thin anal pleasure... Otherwise the price-performance ratio is completely fine...

I was here from work on Tuesday. We had mixed platters as a starter, main course and dessert. Everything was really tasty. I'd love to come back here.

This has always been our favorite restaurant for Greek. You can still get over the fact that the prices have gone up and the portions have become smaller. But on the last visit the quality of the food was no longer the same. Unfortunately, I don't know whether the chef has changed or whether they are simply bought cheaper. It's just a shame... We will definitely try again and then make a final judgment. 🤷‍♂️

A short-term reservation for 12 people plus a baby worked great. The 79th BIRTHDAY was a complete success! Thanks! 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 for that... The food was super tasty and the portion was really big... We're happy to give it 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 for the kitchen... The staff / service was very attentive and super nice, also here like 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟... Conclusion: We will definitely stop by more often, in smaller and larger groups.... 😀😃🙂

It strikes me by sudden walking over the Bridge, the Colours, the Chair and Table , Arranged besides Flowers .asking . Me Am I in Greek ?, Sunshine, little , tiny Street , a Coffee would be fine. Myself Ordering in a cozy, welcoming , furnished Rooms. I enjoyed a Mokka besides a Syrup Sweet , Anise enhanced Digestive. My suggestion if you stop by for a Greek experience, and Ordering this Combination , I strongly suggest the Mokka , Kahve.... order "with NO Sugar" .

I especially missed typical sauces. For example garlic sauce or Metaxa. The food itself was tasty but a bit dry. If there is still room for improvement in this area, I would be happy to give the full number of stars. The ambience is what scores the most in this restaurant for me!

Full points. We were there with our dog for the first time today. We received great service, very pet-friendly store. We got a nice place by the water. I picked up a “to-go” meal. By the way, it was very tasty😋 (Gyros Pita) But eating there, directly in/on the restaurant (there is also an outside seating area directly on the water), I imagine it would be cozy and delicious!

Went there to order gyros takeaway but as there was a huge thunderstorm outside they kindly allowed us to stay and consume our takeaway (thank you). The staff were super kind and friendly. Our food was delicious and super tasty . I had the gyros which was flavourful and had good portion sizes. The atmosphere was nice and homely. Make sure you book at the weekends as it looked busy. They also take credit cards which is good in this day and age. ( You would be surprised how many restaurants still only take cash)

Four of us visited this restaurant on a Tuesday. It is advisable to reserve a table even during the week. The restaurant is small and cozy. The food and service were really top, as was value for money. We would love to come back here.
