The food was too greasy and tasted like a fast-food joint; maybe they should change the oil. On top of that, what I wanted to take away cost extra… not worth it. I felt sick after eating. I'll never go to this place again… not recommended!

Neither the food, nor the service, nor the ambiance justifies the price. I have rarely been so dissatisfied.

Delicious... But the opening hours are wrong. Google says Monday until 10:30 p.m.! They don't let you know that it's last round! We're closing in a few minutes... My beer was "snatched" out of my hand, meaning I was just about to open it and it was taken from the table right in front of me! I don't like the fact that you have to get your own drinks and there's no proper table service. It's all self-service. The price is too high for that. You pay for service and food... But here, only for the food... The ambiance is okay, but nothing special. Last time I visited, I even thought about the food twice, if you know what I mean. We were invited today, otherwise we wouldn't have come back. I can't give it more than 3 stars.

I thought the drinks selection was very good. It was definitely worth it for the price, as the selection is also extensive. I would just recommend eating there before 8 p.m. so the food is constantly being refilled. Considering the selection, I thought it was really tasty. The service was also very friendly.

Hello. The buffet was good so far. Some items could have been a bit warmer.

We were there with a larger group and chose the package with drinks. However, children had to pay full price, even if they only ate one plate. Service is nonsensical here. Plates aren't cleared, no one asks if everything is okay, and the staff are generally unfriendly. While the food selection is plentiful, much of it was cold and didn't seem fresh or appetizing. When paying (over €400), we decided to pay by card. However, the manager, who was presumably in charge, practically insisted on cash payment and harassed my grandparents. When they insisted on paying by card, the employee became so rude that he stopped serving anyone, didn't say a "thank you" or "goodbye," and didn't give out the previously promised fortune cookies. Conclusion: This is my last visit. I will never go to this restaurant again and can only strongly advise against it. In addition, I will inform the tax office about the conspicuous pressure to pay in cash, a behavior that is not only dubious but also extremely questionable.

We enjoyed visiting Asia Palace back then. Since our last visit on September 2nd, we will be avoiding Asia Palace. Totally unfriendly, the food was terrible. The fruit was full of flies and rotten (in the evening). When we didn't leave a tip, the cashier said, "Poor people..." and then turned around and walked away. CATASTROPHIC!

I understand the term "gourmet temple" to mean something different than this Asian restaurant. The buffet is like any other, but the selection isn't as diverse as under the previous owner, only about two-thirds the size. The dishes themselves taste like those in most other restaurants of this type, but you can clearly taste the abundant MSG, so it's not for sensitive stomachs. I only drink cold tap water with my meals, and I ordered half a liter of that. At first, the waitress was quite rude and tried to persuade me to get still mineral water. After I refused several times, she finally agreed, and I got a glass, albeit lukewarm. I think it's absolutely outrageous, to put it mildly, to charge €4 for this. In all the other restaurants I eat at, they charge a euro for this or serve it for free.

The food is no longer edible! We used to love coming here. Since the new owner took over, unfortunately, it's been forgotten. We won't be back!

On December 16, 2024, the kitchen was inspected by the city of Oldenburg: "Food stored under disgusting conditions," "Staff restroom: overall unsanitary condition" + no towels, 46 contaminants + other complaints.

The food was good, and the service was very friendly. There was a new buffet offering, including "all you can drink" options from the refrigerators provided for this purpose. Nothing was left to be desired!

Unfortunately, the owner seems to have changed!!!??? The buffet selection was unsatisfactory. The duck and chicken were dry and not fresh. Fewer staff, less service! Furthermore, the restaurant, and especially the restrooms, were not very clean. We won't be going back!

This was our last visit. We'd been there several times 4-5 years ago. Today, four of us were there, around 7:30 p.m. The food wasn't replenished once the entire time we were there. Items that ran out at the buffet remained empty. Despite the place being only half full, it was extremely loud. Additionally, the tables were dirty, and the metal clips used to fry food were covered in old grease. The staff seemed listless and not really in the mood. Plates were cleared late, and glass bottles were simply ignored and piled up on the table. And the price topped it all off: €31.90 per person for the buffet and all-you-can-drinks. And that for a buffet that wasn't even fully stocked. Everything was on a shoestring. You're welcome to pay the price, but then I'd like a clean environment, plentiful food, good service, etc. The outdoor area is also very run-down and is sprouting up (weeds, etc.). I won't be eating there again.

We went there for the buffet with three small children. Everything was spotless, the service was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and there was a huge selection. The price/performance ratio is unbeatable. The kids loved it too, and everyone found something to enjoy. We'll definitely be back, and thank you for the amazing experience!

Extremely disappointed, I'd give it negative stars if I could. The staff was so unfriendly, the food all tasted the same, it took a really long time to cook your own food, and it was completely overcooked every time. This was our last visit.

Unfortunately, it's no longer edible since the name change. Many of the dishes are spoiled, and you can see and taste that they've been reheated repeatedly. With the baked chicken, it was clear that fresh chicken had simply been thrown on top of the old batch. Afterwards, I had terrible stomach pains all night! Never again!

A truly fantastic buffet. Wonderfully designed to avoid queues. Very spacious. And the food was delicious, with a wide selection. I find the flat-rate drinks option very interesting 👍 All in all, a successful evening 😊 I'd love to go again 🥂👍

It was a subterranean buffet with terrible food, greasy duck, and rubbery nuggets that were so disgusting. I've never had anything worse at a Chinese restaurant. Everything before was better and cheaper. I simply can't recommend it.

I won't eat there again. It's way too expensive and the food is of very poor quality. Only lukewarm food. There was hardly anything there. There were only two other guests in the restaurant with us!

There are probably new owners in there. We don't like it that way at all. There are watchdogs there, if you open a new bottle and there's another one left, you pay a fine of €2.50. No, we're not going there anymore.

Since the name change, there have probably been other chefs too. Nothing tasted as good as usual. It's a shame. Paid €31.90 for an almost cold buffet. We'll look for something else.

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was anything but positive. When I entered I was greeted warmly and immediately shown to a table. However, I was quickly pressured to order something to drink straight away, even though I wanted to see the menu first. The drinks menu was hastily handed to me and I continued to be urged to finally order, with many people repeatedly saying "we have almost everything there". When I asked for a menu, I was turned away with the message that the buffet was “just as expensive and you could eat anything there.” Since I don't eat much, I first wanted to know how much the buffet cost - I was told €12. I decided to give it a try but was unfortunately disappointed. The food was unimpressive: the chicken was dry, the beans were tough, the salad dressing no longer seemed fresh, and some pickles were very vinegary. There was an unpleasant surprise when paying: Suddenly the buffet cost €14.90. When I pointed out that I had previously been quoted a different price, all I got was, “Sorry, I’m new here.” If the actual price had been clear from the start, I would have preferred to order something off the menu and have the leftovers packed up at the end as planned. But I was denied the menu from the start. The cleanliness also left a lot to be desired. The women's toilets were in very poor condition: loose door handles, doors that were difficult to close, damaged toilet seats and visible yellow and brown dirt on the toilet seats. There was no water for the ice cream spoon at the buffet, which meant that leftovers of different types were mixed together, which didn't look very appetizing and was visually reminiscent of black mold. Additionally, the floor was sticky and my table could definitely have been wiped down before sitting down. Overall, my visit was unfortunately disappointing. The price-performance ratio is not right and both the hygiene and the service left something to be desired. It's a shame, but I won't visit this restaurant again.

Negative Restaurant Review Today we wanted to celebrate our child's birthday with you, but the party was ruined. It was a buffet, and unfortunately, some of the dishes were spoiled. The sushi had an unpleasant smell and taste, and the wakame salad was clearly not fresh. Our older child got a stomachache afterward. We are very disappointed with the quality of the food. You expect a restaurant to at least do basic product freshness checks, but there seem to be major problems here. We hope management becomes aware of this situation, because food poisoning is no joke.

The Asian dishes were delicious. Unfortunately, there is far too much “Western” on offer here too. Fries are still okay, but fried potatoes are. Chicken nuggets etc. have no place on an Asian buffet.

It seems to me that Asia Palace is under new ownership. It shouldn't be overlooked that there are significantly fewer visitors on Sunday than before, it's understandable €55 for two people, 2x lunch buffet + 2x water!, way too expensive!, people, it's still a buffet, right? The cook (self-service) swapped my dish, the waitress acted as if there was a communication problem, simply put my plate on the table and ran away, the swapped dish was also inedible, too much salt and completely acidic, just left it there. Ok, a few new dishes, meat selection and dessert have changed..., but me and my companion, we just wanted to eat quickly and cheaply, like before, we didn't want to order gourmet food, not with the atmosphere anyway, we waited far too long for drinks, aperitif was also missing, reception and table assignment were absolutely missing. About 10 months ago the store got five stars and thumbs up from me, now only two. It's a shame actually...

I've eaten buffet here several times, but today I was really very dissatisfied with the cleanliness/hygiene. Our table didn't seem to be cleaned and that at 12 o'clock, the floor under the table was very dirty. The floor around the buffet has stuck. Something definitely needs to change!! The eye eats too!! I won't be coming back for a while...

It was just terrible, I had invited my family. The staff was unfriendly, the tosch where we were sitting still stuck from the last guest and the food was a disaster. It was hardly refilled, the meat was cold and tough...It's not worth the money.

A horrible taste experience. The chicken was raw, fatty and cold. Everything was fried (even the herb baguette)! For dessert there was Jell-O, which retained its original shape after being eaten. When I bit down on it my teeth gritted because the ready mix was sprinkled on top. Definitely not a recommendation, complete disaster!

We were a large group in this establishment, we are foreigners and do not know German, the waitress who served us did not understand at all that I was speaking English to her, then she simply reacted dismissively to us, the impression of service was terrible!! I asked for coffee to go, she didn’t immediately understand what I needed, then they made it for me on the spot, then when she realized that I needed coffee to go, she offered to pour it into the tureen for me 🤬…. The food that was ready on the buffet could be eaten, some of it was even tasty, but the cooks prepare the food ready for you, it was terrible, it was disgusting!!! It was impossible to eat it, this was the opinion of all 6 people... it was as if it were in rancid oil... because of this, all seafood had a pronounced, identical unpleasant aftertaste. We won't go here again.

We've been to the restaurant several times and unfortunately we've recently noticed that it's getting worse and worse... it's a shame... We came from a little further away because we were really excited... From time to time it feels like the selection is becoming less and less, and unfortunately the quality of the food is also decreasing... And the price-performance ratio is no longer right... We loved having something freshly prepared for us... but the last few times it was completely over-seasoned and was almost inedible... The sushi corner almost no longer needs to be offered... There is obviously very little freshly packed... it's a shame our last visit ended in the little town... unfortunately that was the crowning glory... and made us decide not to visit the Asia Palace anymore to look for something else... It's a shame the staff was quite friendly...

We came especially from Bremen and I have to say we were impressed!! There is a wide selection of different dishes (no pizza or anything like that, but really exotic food!) and all at an unbeatable price. Plus nice service and consideration of individual wishes! We'll be back, and really happy!

One thing in advance: If you are looking for stylish and authentic Asian cuisine, you are in the wrong place here. Still, it tastes good. Everyone in the group tolerated it without any stomach pain. You like to get three plates full because it simply tastes good. The service is attentive and quick, even if a drink is cleared away too early.

A large selection of vegetables and salads rounds off the offering, as does a large selection of desserts, including ice cream. But it is a buffet restaurant, you have to take that into account. The buffet is constantly refilled and looks very appealing. Although the restaurant is run by Chinese-speaking staff, it is not entirely authentic, hence a few stars less in the respective categories. Nevertheless, it was tasty and the service was friendly. Therefore a clear recommendation!

Spontaneously stopped in with my daughter. On Wednesdays it was no problem to get a table for several people. The buffet was still well stocked at 7 p.m. Taste good, but not outstanding. The liver dish was a bit very dry. Sushi almost looked like frozen food. The freshly prepared food was very good and had a good selection of meat and fish for the middle of the week. The dessert selection, however, was “bomb”. The service was nice, but the ambience was a bit tired. However, the price is a few euros too expensive for the quality

The service was terrible and the waitress was very rude with us, she was insisting that we have to order drinks with our food otherwise they add one euro per person on the pill and when we said we don’t want any drinks she completely ignored us afterwards and wasn’t responding to us!! There is a lot of room for improvement here with the food. That was basically nothing... The food was either overcooked or dried out at the buffet. The ice cream buffet was already cleared where I was so far. There was actually no service at all, only where money was involved. The buffet is far too expensive for such terrible food. I don't have to go there again, there are much better restaurants of this type.

I would prefer to give 0 stars. Unfortunately the food was terribly bad, you can eat much better and cheaper at the kebab shop opposite and the waitress was quite unfriendly. When asked if she could open the window or doors as it was quite hot and stuffy in the flophouse, she simply replied that it wasn't her problem and left. There was a stomach ache for free with the meal. That was definitely the last time at Asia Palast.

Service was very bad. Were forced to pay in cash... Were kicked out before closing time because they didn't want any more customers and wanted to get off work even though we hadn't finished eating. We then asked how long they would be open for but they ignored us. The food also left a lot to be desired. It was dry, almost cold and only leftovers. I don't recommend it.

So the food is really really bad. The quality was the worst I have ever had at this type of restaurant. There was a choice. Price basic Also OK for a buffet but unfortunately the food wasn't really good. Personally, I would neither visit nor recommend the restaurant again.

The food was great, but we paid too much for 2 buffets, 2 coke and 1 water for about €59. The waitress was unfriendly and didn't even mention it at the checkout.

We were there recently. No greeting, you are addressed directly with: “Buffet, yes?”… no, we wanted to order à la carte, as the buffet cost €24.90 per person (and we weren’t that hungry). Bami Goreng was ok but not that tasty and the curry and tofu dish was tasteless... you could only taste coconut milk but no curry at all. Ordered jasmine tea with it: very small amount of tea for two people. Very disappointing.

Horrible food I've never eaten so bad at a Chinese restaurant, everything tasted the same, one dish had soft-boiled liver in it... even the ingredients that were freshly prepared didn't look fresh. So Oldenburg, what's wrong that you're trashing him with such poor quality!!

Grausigen Essen so schlecht habe ich bisher beim Chinesen noch nie gegessen,schmeckte alles gleich,i n einem Gericht war weich gekochte Leber drin bäh...selbst die Zutaten die man frisch zubereitet bekommt sahen nicht frisch aus. Also Oldenburger was ist los das ihr ihm die Bude einrennt bei so mieser Qualität!!

It's the rudest thing I've ever seen in my life. They wouldn't let us pay with Mastercard because they don't issue receipts and they made a whole fuss about us not paying with cash but they only wanted cash, really never ever again in that horrible store, you all are rude

I found hair in the food completely rude staff they wouldn't let me pay with a card and made me go to the bank to get money when they had a card payment system I really don't recommend it the worst place in Oldenburg I have never seen anyone more rude in my life to this day than this particular staff...I'm sorry, this is the first time I'm leaving a comment, although I never leave negative comments. The waitress made me cry and spoke to me as if I had left without paying, she didn't want to accept my card.

The woman was very unfriendly. She made us pay in advance because we didn't want to order anything to drink. She then refused to give us the 10 cents (which we were entitled to). All in all very unfriendly and the food was also very unhygienic.
