Ankerklause in Berlin

A local restaurant with cozy seating outside for a beer in the evening sun, or a conservatory overlooking the river. Very friendly staff and an exceptionally delicious breakfast.

The location and the place itself are top-notch. Cult, no doubt about it. The service is unfortunately random, depending on who's there. Last Friday, the guys had everything under control. Two days later, a different crew, not so much under control. After 30 minutes of departure, we weren't able to get anyone from the service to even say hello. It's clear that this isn't equally easy for everyone, but even a friendly inquiry at the bar asking if we could perhaps order directly there was arrogantly dismissed. Ahoy...

Hands-down best currywurst in Berlin. Right on the canal. Superb atmosphere, just a spectacular dirty spoon!

The 3 stars are because I miss what used to be the most fun part of Ankeeklause: the incredibly awesome and unique queer parties, where the whole place was dancing, and even outside, there was an inspiring and contagious party atmosphere that even "normal" people passing by wanted to come up and come in and join in the party. 🎉🏳️‍🌈🌈💃🏻🕺🏻💞 What happened to that? Now there's a disco on the first Thursday (?) of every month... Okay? Word is, the owner(s) are abroad, resting on their laurels and the greatness of their past—is there a comeback from the still-great mediocrity to one of Berlin's best locations? ♥️🙏🏻🏳️‍🌈⁉️

Lovely place where we have eaten breakfast, among other things.

It was quite hard to find a table but the vibe was pretty nice. People coming and going. It is really nice for beginning the night 🤘🏾

Great place, whether you're looking for something to eat or drink. Busy, but that's what makes it special. With a bit of luck, you might get a spot on the "inner balcony" in a beach chair. Prices are also completely reasonable. The fish and chips were delicious. I'd gladly go back.

There's a lot of traffic! We stopped there after a stroll through the market located nearby. No seating on the terrace or inside, but there's a back seat overlooking the canal. 2 spritzers and 2 sodas, about €20 Bar service; they're focused on serving everyone quickly. Friendly Berlin atmosphere with locals.

Great atmosphere, authentic, democratic Berlin

Great place for a drink! We came here on a Sunday afternoon and stayed late to round off a big Berlin weekend. Staff where nice and were helpful despite out bad German. A few of us ate and the schnitzel was really good. And the berliner weisse! what a great drink!

The Thursday Club at Anker is particularly great: on the first Thursday of the month, Olli Goolightly DJs and rocks the place.

Service has deteriorated significantly. Employees are grumpy and the food is from the freezer. Waiters are no longer serving food. It's self-service only.

Cozy spot right on the water – the atmosphere at the Ankerklause is truly unique! We could have done without the loud guy at the next table, but that's not the place's fault. We had fried eggs and scrambled eggs with cheese – both deliciously prepared, nice and moist, and well-seasoned. The portions were absolutely perfect; you'd leave feeling full and satisfied. The cheese in the scrambled eggs was melted and evenly distributed, just as it should be 🧀. Service was friendly to very friendly and prompt. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch in Kreuzberg – we'd gladly go back!

Nice place with seating indoors by the river and outside on the street summertimes. A lot of cars passing by thought but hey it's in the middle of Berlin so what can you do 🤷🏼. Played som liquid dnb indoors when I was there and had plenty of dogs around that I could greet ❤️ (Entschuldigung, darf ich den Hund begrüßen?) Toilets left a bit to be desired though, but totally survivable. Smoking allowed at outside tables and a small "outside" bit under roof.

The food at the Ankerklause is good value for money. There's a good and extensive selection of drinks. Now, about the ambiance – I think it's simply fantastic. You can also sit on the terraces and by the water. Simply fantastic. I definitely recommend the place – the Ankerklause in Berlin. You should go there sometime.

Ankerklause is a super popular place to hang out for both tourists, students, and Berlin's more alternative, and perhaps creative class. Atmosphere all day long and especially in the evening. A slightly sloppy and unpolished place, where you have to put up with a bit of shade and stains and conviviality. The space is almost always cramped, but then the guests just hang out on the street. If you're lucky during the day, there are seats with a view of the Landwehr Canal. An installation with newspaper-wrapped cobblestones is a nod to Kreuzberg's rebellious BZ past, which many still remember with sadness. Ankerklause is located on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln. Also known as Kreuzkölln, and there are many small galleries and cafes. But here too, the price per square meter is rising and is gradually displacing the most talentless artists, and those who remain have difficulty paying the rent. The neighborhood and Ankerklause are a small island in the middle of Neukölln, which is otherwise largely dominated by immigration from the Middle East, Pakistan, Turkey and North Africa. On market days, the Turkish market is right outside the door.

The small terrace directly over the water is fantastic. You almost forget you're in the city. The restaurant is rustic. Self-service is the motto. The location is lively and very colorful. The restaurant is a highlight of the area.

This restaurant is very inviting due to the interior design, which gives the impression of being on a ship. The employees always keep an overview, even on turbulent days, and are very nice and attentive. The lunch special/daily special changes into creations. The dishes are prepared fresh and appetizing with great care. The cuisine leans more towards upscale home cooking. Many thanks to the crew. 😊

Was a guest there at lunchtime. The service was very friendly and reasonably quick. The schnitzel was very tasty and the portion including salad was very generous. I will definitely come back.

They said that I was loud, when I was talking on the phone when the music was playing at full blast, I asked to clear the table after other people, they threw a rag at me and told me to clean it up, although it was other guys who were sitting with us, this was said to me by a guy in a gray T-shirt with a medium hairstyle, that is, the bartender 👎👎👎, this is not respect for customers!!!!

It's a very interesting bar located in the canal, has a separate room for smokers and a good selection of food, very fast service. Very recommended to have a Bier or a quick bite.

They could improve their vegetarian dishes for vegetarians. Not everyone likes beyond burgers and potatoes with apple sauce is not appetizing at all…

A nice and friendly atmosphere to drink beer. The channel side balcony or front side is always full. Finding a place is a matter of luck. I wasn't sure about the food.

I love it here! On a Montag. It is terribly terribly difficult to find a table here on a sunny Freitag Abend. It is known. Do not bring your excited foreign visitor friends here on a sunny Freitag Abend. We will not be able to find a seat. Very in demand. For a reason. Would recommend.

Small room overlooking the canal, choice of burgers, Schnitzel, pretzel and other quick snacks. Perfect for a break during your stroll around the neighborhood.

I went three times, and all three times I had bad experience with the service. I also work as bartender and I don't understand why at Ankerklause when they spill a beer/serving you they act like they're doing a favour to you and making SUCH an effort... This is not how you work in this industry. If you dont like the job just go do something else but if you're there just to say to your friends "I live in berlin I work in bars" then move your 4ss IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Now I'm a little annoyed, I read Mr. Schallenberger's article in the Berliner Zeitung and was shocked today when I saw the representative prices of the beer and burgers. The beer went from €3 for a long time to €4.20, which was once 8 Mark 40, and the burger went down to €10, which ended up being 20 Marks. That's simply too expensive for an otherwise wonderful neighborhood pub on the edge of SO36. it annoys and disappoints.

The ambience in this harbor pub encourages you to consume the generous menu and the loving preparation of the drinks leaves you in a state of ecstasy. Also very smoker-friendly and extremely friendly among the staff and guests. A must-experience if you visit Berlin as a tourist.

A very tasty vegan Burger and vegan Curry Wurst

Waited 25 minutes for 3 drinks, quite a bit Lame shop there, the staff quite overwhelmed . Waitress only takes dirty glasses from the table when asked. I had the impression that the staff celebrated themselves rather than doing a good job wanted to do.

Haven't eaten there yet, but have been there several times for a coffee or drink. I really like the store! Very cozy right on the canal.

Piccolo bistrot, caratteristico, all'angolo tra Kottbusser Brüke e Maybachufer, con una caratteristica veranda affacciata sul canale. Ricche colazioni in uno spazio un po' stretto, sempre affollato. Si possono ammirare i cigni e altri uccelli acquatici che nuotano. Peccato le vetrate esposte a nord, quindi il posto in inverno è un po' freddo. Servizio abbastanza veloce, cucina buona.

A great cafe with traditional German cuisine! The menu offers classic German dishes that are excellently prepared. Particularly impressive is the beautiful view of the river - a picturesque setting made even more beautiful by the elegant swans gliding on the water. The portions are really huge, so you'll definitely be full. Everything was extremely tasty, and best of all: the prices are surprisingly affordable. A perfect place to spend a cozy and enjoyable day. Absolutely recommended!

Varied atmosphere, young and retired people, chips and fish eaten, 1 tasty meal, friendly people at the tap and in front of it, not far from Kottbusser Tor.
