Friendly service, delicious food, but it was very noisy upstairs.

A lovely Bavarian restaurant with appropriate decor. A good selection of vegetarian dishes, too. The service was very friendly and attentive, even though it was really busy.

I ordered a knuckle of pork. I specifically asked before ordering if it was tender. The knuckle was unfortunately tough, so I sent it back and ordered something else, which was no problem, and the other food was good. Thank you very much for that. While I was in the restroom, the waitress came back to our table and told my companions that I should not order a knuckle of pork in any restaurant again, as the knuckle I sent back was "butter tender." In my opinion, that's outrageous. And the knuckle was unfortunately really tough, otherwise I wouldn't have sent it back. I also felt really sorry for that piece of meat. It doesn't grow on trees.

The Andechser offers comfortable seating, a very pleasant atmosphere. The service is friendly and prompt, and the food is of excellent quality. It's a place you'll gladly return to.

Ambience: Traditional, yet modern, clean, and spacious. Well-suited for parties. Service: Very competent Food: Nothing out of the box, hardly any convenience food. For example, the spaetzle are homemade, and the sauce is definitely not made with MSG. Good portions and quality. The desserts are also highly recommended.

I'm sorry to have to say it like this. I've been there three times in total, but I personally don't think the price-performance ratio is good. Today I ordered roast pork with dumplings and obviously got the two leftover pieces that had more fat on them than meat. I don't understand why so many restaurants with good, home-style cooking always want to put on a show and offer expensive food that, while relatively good, isn't really anything special. Also, I don't understand what a Thai curry is doing on a menu in a home-style kitchen? Unfortunately, you won't find a simple breaded schnitzel with fries or cordon bleu; instead, they only serve the expensive veal version. I find the butchers in Wulfertshausen to be much better tasting, and while the prices aren't exactly cheap, they're still reasonable overall. By the way, we waited 50 minutes for the food. And as you can see from the response to my review, they're not open to criticism either... what a shame!

The whole package is extraordinary. Your eyes and palate are pampered to the highest standards. Service is impeccable. The ambiance epitomizes Bavaria. We'll definitely be back.

This was the third time we've been to the restaurant with the kids – it was simply perfect. We're all incredibly happy. Everything was just perfect. I don't really like Kaiserschmarrn, I never have. But our son ordered a portion today. I tried it with him, and I have to say: I've never eaten better Kaiserschmarrn. Yes, the prices are high, and it's not for people who want to eat a lot and eat cheaply, but every portion is so beautifully and harmoniously presented, and that counts, especially these days – you don't find that in every restaurant, even the well-known ones in the big cities. Very nice. Thank you!

Typically Bavarian, very good restaurant

The four of us ate outside on Sunday lunch. The seating is comfortable, and there are both shady and sunny spots. Unfortunately, the road is right next to it, and the table has holes in it (if anything drips, it'll go straight onto your pants), but otherwise, it was great! Everyone loved the food; you can even order smaller portions if you're not that hungry. Even special requests, like the cheese spaetzle with the roast pork, were no problem!

Luckily, there was a table without a reservation, the ambiance was nice, and it made a very good impression. But the only bright spot for the food was the meat, frozen vegetables, and croquettes. There were also spaetzle, which shouldn't have had that name. The waiter came to order and take the payment, but unfortunately, they weren't very attentive when the glasses were already empty. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't really match up. I'm happy to answer that, because the broccoli and cauliflower were definitely frozen, and the croquettes should have been left out altogether. And when you don't have staff, you unfortunately have to politely turn down guests sometimes. A shame

The price-performance ratio isn't right. The portions are far too small and quite expensive. We waited almost an hour for the food, which is really cheeky. Every two years, I give this restaurant a chance and am disappointed again. Reply to the owner: I ordered a side salad, which the waitress considered an appetizer. She realized this after 45 minutes. It had nothing to do with the thunderstorm, and I understand that. I don't understand the statement that they can't imagine the portions being too small. The schnitzel for €19 is eaten in 5 bites, and it only comes with a handful of fries. It tasted okay, but honestly, it didn't blow me away. As I said, the disappointment wasn't unique, but it will be the last time.

It's a lovely place to sit outside on the market square with a view of the maypole. In summer, it's best to make a reservation for the evenings!

I was there for lunch today with my husband and daughter. We reserved a table in advance. The restaurant looks very appealing, and we enjoyed the food immensely. We had Andechser Filetpfannenchen (pan-fried filets), roast pork, and spaetzle with sauce. The taste was truly outstanding. The price was also completely reasonable. We lost one star for the service, which is why we barely tipped. We waited over an hour for our food, and there was no apology or explanation for why it took so long. After the meal, we weren't even asked if everything was okay. They just cleared our plates away without a word. Unfortunately, the friendliness overall left a lot to be desired.

Friendly staff, excellent cuisine, reservation required

The Andechser has been beautifully restored after the fire. The Käsespätzle is as delicious as ever, and the Kaiserschmarrn is a dream, and the chocolate cake with a liquid center is also wonderful! Prices are a bit steep for the portion size, but it's warm in winter. Unfortunately, in the summer, you have to smoke inside, too, as the windows are all closed, and without air conditioning, it was very hot (air conditioning has actually been installed since the fire). Therefore, one star deducted.

Everything's good, but not very good! What bothers me most are the dogs in the restaurant! That's a no-go! We'd go out to eat more often, but it's limiting for us.

A very nice terrace, with plenty of shade from the trees and parasols. The service was super friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and plentiful. You're practically sitting in the middle of town, overlooking the square, and enjoying life. Lovely restaurant in the center of Mering. There's a small parking lot nearby, but parking is also available in the surrounding streets. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating. There's a wide selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately, there are few vegan options. The quality of the food is very good, and the portions are a good size to fill you up. The staff is super friendly and tries to accommodate all your requests. The prices are a bit high for the quality of the food, but they're okay.

We were invited to a birthday party. The food was from the menu, I really enjoyed it and there was plenty of it.

As usual, very tasty Bavarian cuisine. Today we ate good farmer's goose with friends. Everything was super tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce alone was a dream, without the usual chemicals! We actually wanted to go to Andechs. Then found the Andechser on the internet. The menu is small but nice: not overloaded. Now we just hope to cook and prepare ourselves. On site: construction site, noise, smell and lots of dust. Good: the operators can't do anything about that. We decided on a Pfanderl and a roast pork. Plus a dark Andechser and an apple spritzer. Requests to change the Pfanderl from croquettes to wild garlic spaetzle (from the daily menu) will be accepted and will not be added to the bill later (WOW!). The girl from the service: nice, attentive and friendly. Fits. Quality of the food: Between 1 and 2: Roast pork great. Two potato dumplings, enough meat. Homemade coleslaw. Crust separated from meat (you can do this). But it's just too flimsy for that. I expect more from that. Pfanderl: Meat fried to perfection (nicely pink). However, the service here didn't ask us how we wanted it. Pork fillet should be done, of course. But there are gradations to this. There is room for improvement! Wild garlic spaetzle is super delicious. We have the impression (i.e. hobby chefs): everything here is well cooked and homemade. We paid €60 for two people for a great evening, great home-cooked food including a tip. Fits! We'll be coming here more often from now on! A little insider tip for us!

Great as always! Sure, expensive, but good quality! However, with a two-person bill of over €170 including champagne, you might still want a small gesture “on the house”. Always my pleasure!

The last two times it was simply disappointing and looking back, the prices were outrageous for the quality that was sometimes offered. Some dishes are really good, others are just plain wrong. Unfortunately, the friendliness is not always what I expected. We won't be going there again for a long time.

Very tasty food, friendly service, authentic, rustic atmosphere. The prices are high, but appropriate for the food.

We wanted to try out Andechser in Mering yesterday afternoon because the website made a nice impression and we are big fans of Andechs Monastery and its brewery. When we entered the restaurant, we first looked around and discovered that there was also seating on the first floor and wanted to take a look around there. As my husband and I walked up the stairs, a waitress shouted very loudly with an annoyed "Excuse me, what are you doing?!!!" I replied that we wanted to look around and look for a place to sit. The blonde waitress then asked us why we went upstairs when there were free tables downstairs. I then asked if we were not allowed to go upstairs and said we just wanted to look around and had never been to this restaurant before. She replied that everything was already set upstairs and that there was an invited party upstairs. We then came down the stairs like scolded schoolchildren who had been scolded and had committed a crime. I was very dismayed and the condition said that everything was okay and that we could look for something downstairs. She obviously realized that she had reacted extremely rudely and unprofessionally. Honestly, a small sign saying "Closed Society" would have worked wonders. Addressing guests loudly and angrily in this way, so loudly that the other guests look up, is not possible!!!! We did eat there, but everything, really everything, had a bitter aftertaste because of it. After the incident, there was fake friendliness on the part of the waitress. The food is also overpriced and my turkey strips weren't particularly tender. But portion was good. I hope that my husband's dark skin color wasn't the trigger for the waitress's behavior. The sound makes the music! Long story short: We'll never go to Andechser again!

How could I give anything other than five stars? My girlfriend and I enjoyed (by invitation - thanks to the noble donor) a pumpkin seed soup, the onion roast and my girlfriend also enjoyed a great dessert. I made do with two Willis since I didn't have to drive. Marietta and team thank you very much for the lovely evening 🥰

The location was nice and the seating comfort was fine, enough space and nice service, but some of it was incomprehensible and you had to ask several times. High interior noise level, no partitions between the tables, everything is open. Food just average. Side salad for 6.00 euros was bitter despite the good Caesars dressing. Cordon Bleue for 21 euros: Meat with no taste, probably unseasoned, breading only tasted like butter, it wasn't cross but limp and wasn't fried long enough. There was only a little flavor from the cheese and ham. Fries fried in old oil and mostly dry! The sauce that was specially ordered wasn't even served; There was also no employee to be seen after the meal service to complain or inquire. Roast pork for 17 euros: the taste was average at best, the meat was "scattered" and the sauce was not home-made pure pork roast sauce. The best were the cabbage side dishes and potato dumplings. All in all a disappointment, we will spend our money elsewhere in the future.

It was very good! We ate there with friends on a weekday with a reservation and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Attentive and quick service, food fresh, hot and tasty. Price-performance ratio top.

I just had the greatest burger in my life! I actually wanted to eat something “rustic”, but then I saw burgers with “100% ORGANIC Oxx’npatty” on the menu. And that's exactly how it tasted. Very high quality and tender meat. The whole thing with cheddar and chili, where the chili wasn't too spicy but gave the perfect kick. The patty was also crispy and perfectly browned. Even the fries: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside...rarely experienced like that. And the service was very friendly and dressed in “rustic” dirndls…that rounded off my perfect dinner. So if you like burgers, you shouldn't miss this

My friend and I like to go to the "Andechser". Delicious food with a changing daily menu. The ambience and the service are great.

We spent a wonderful evening at Andechser yesterday. Food very good, large portions, price absolutely reasonable. But I would particularly like to highlight the super friendly and attentive service. The restaurant was very busy and she had her hands full all evening. Nevertheless, she was extremely friendly and apologized several times that we had to wait for a short time, but that wasn't a problem for us at all. You could tell that she really puts her heart into the work :) Thank you very much and big congratulations to you (and of course the rest of the team)!

Nice atmosphere and very nice service. My Wiener schnitzel was good, but in my opinion a little thick and not baked with butter. The fries were very crispy, but overall a little dry. There was also a great burger and meatballs with potato salad at the table. Everything is very nice to look at and well prepared.

It was a great evening. Had a light tarte flambée and an onion roast which were excellent. Our service person Katrin was incredibly accommodating and in a great mood. Such a service is no longer a given today. Here you are still valued as a guest. Thank you for this lovely, unforgettable evening. We'd love to come back.

Bavarian inn Price performance was too expensive

Nachdem der Andechser in Mering einen sehr guten Ruf hat, wollten wir auch mal zum Abendessen hin. Also Tisch für 2 bestellt, trotz fast leerem Lokal wollte man uns den Katzentisch geben. Zum Glück war draußen noch was zu haben. Ok. Bestellung bei mir, Vorspeise Salat 6,00 € Filetpfanne klein mit Gemüse, Spätzle und Kroketten 21,00 €. Bei meinem Mann Tatar 16,00 € als Vorspeise und Spanferkel mit Blaukraut und Knödel 18,00 €. Salat war halt ein paar Blätter Salat mit Rettich und Gelberüben. Ging so. Hauptspeise war eine Enttäuschung Filets viel zu trocken zu lange gegart. Kroketten aus der TK Gemüse TK mit ein paar Paprika angereichert. Spätzle gut. DasTatar war ok. Haben wir aber schon besser gehabt. Das Spanferkel war trocken und das Blaukraut ungefähr 3 Stunden gekocht und matschig. Knödel ok. Fazit mit Getränken 90,00 € wars nicht wert.

I was there for the first time today because I received the keys to my new apartment in the castle from my landlords. The weather was perfect, the service was great and quick-witted and you could tell she hadn't just been doing this since yesterday...🤗 My landlords invited me and we all decided on fresh asparagus. The asparagus cream soup was delicate and then the asparagus spears were perfectly prepared with hollandaise sauce and a cool Lugana... Anytime again and so a new beginning can always begin...

Sat outside with a group of 11 on May 8th, 2024. Staff very flexible when it comes to putting the tables together. Snack board was first class!

Cozy restaurant. Very nice service. The prices are a bit high (we are here in Mering and not in a metropolis...;-) but the portions are good. I just thought the 10 euros for a chocolate cake as dessert was excessive. In terms of taste, the dishes were absolutely fine, only the fillet was tough and the spaetzle that went with it was too salty. But we'd love to come back.

Wir haben an Karfreitag das Restaurant mit Freunden besucht. Der Service hat und sehr herzlich empfangen. Ich bestellte mir eine Tafelspitzbrühe mit Leberknödel. Die Brühe war schön kräftig und sehr gut abgespeckt, genau wie die Leberknödel die eine sehr schöne Konsistenz hatten. Als Hauptgang habe ich mir eine halbe Schweinshaxe mit Rotkraut und Knödel bestellt in Biersauce. Die Haxe hat alle Haxen die in den Brauhäusern in München verkauft werden, vom Thron gestoßen. Das Fleisch war sehr schön weich und saftig und wies keine trockene Stellen auf. Das Rotkraut und die Sauce waren ebenfalls sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Die Knödel waren der absolute Hammer, sie zergingen auf der Zunge. Als Dessert bestellte ich den Kaiserschmarrn mit Zwetgenröster ....ich sage es war pure Erotik auf dem Teller. Mein Endergebnis das Andechser in Mering hat eine richtig tolle bayrische Küche mit einem Küchenteam die Leidenschaft ihres Könnens auf den Teller bringen.

Went there yesterday for my mother's 75th birthday. Bitter disappointment. Cheese pezle warmed up in the microwave. Potato dumplings as hard as golf balls, the cheapest ready-made product. Roast pork 2 nice slices but on top a piece of indefinable. Breaded schnitzel not fried well, breading still half "raw" Yes, Andechser is more expensive but is happy to pay for the quality of a poor motorway rest area. Unfortunately my mother fell down the stairs to the toilet, she screamed loudly and there was no response from the staff. Unfortunately it has deteriorated extremely since the renovation, fortunately there are enough alternatives that are happy to have guests where the quality and service are right.

The supposedly “oven-fresh farmer’s duck” was far from fresh. The same dilemma with the dumplings. The food was only warmed up half-heartedly. The plate, sauce, meat, dumplings had a uniform temperature on the outside, as if everything had been warmed up together in the oven. The duck was cold and tough beneath the soggy skin. The dumplings were also cold and hard on the inside. The complaint to the service was only answered with a shrug of the shoulders. For just under €30 per dish, a Bavarian tavern should be able to put fresh food on your plate!
