It's a shame, it's simply not Spanish anymore! Things are quite different under the new owners. First off: the service is top-notch, absolutely fantastic. But the food had already declined in quality and become somewhat more expensive towards the end of Miguel's time, and now the quality hasn't improved at all. The prices have been raised again, and the portion sizes are rather small. All in all, it doesn't have much to do with Andalusian cuisine anymore. Perhaps it's acceptable for people unfamiliar with authentic Spanish fare. I wish the new owners all the best, as they are truly excellent hosts.

After more than 50 years of regularly visiting Andalusia, right on the Costa del Sol, I thought it was time to try out this Remscheid institution. In my opinion, and based on my experience, this one and only visit was disappointing. It has very little to do with Spanish tapas culture, in my opinion. Visually and in terms of taste, it missed the mark so completely (prawns in a simple frying oil, stingy with garlic, the dishes ruined with basic squeezer sauces, the tortilla made almost entirely of eggs – you had to search for the potatoes, hardly any seasoning, presented without care and in a bland manner, and so on and so forth) that you could almost think (and unfortunately, that's how I felt) you were sitting in a third-rate American diner. I feel sorry for the owner. For someone unfamiliar with the scene, it might be culinary heaven, but for me, sadly, it wasn't; I found it an ordeal.

I come here regularly with various colleagues and friends. The food is always very good and of very high quality. The service is very friendly, and the new owner is also very attentive. On Friday, there were five of us, and we were all very satisfied. The value for money is excellent, especially with the special offer. Highly recommended. Examples of dishes we've eaten: - Eggplant in batter with honey - Strips of beef fillet - Prawns in chili and garlic oil - Fritata with shrimp - Bacon-wrapped dates - Cold appetizer platter And much more. I'll be back soon.

This is a tapas bar, so I don't understand some of the reviews. I don't expect top-notch food in a tapas bar. The prices are high. If it's too expensive for me, I'll just have to go somewhere else. Of course, there's room for improvement, like everywhere else. I enjoy coming to Andalucia. I hope this iconic little spot stays with us for a long time. Keep up the good work...

A place where you can spend a good time and receive friendly and courteous service. The menu is extensive, and everyone will find something to their liking. It's worth noting that the kitchen serves hot tapas after 8 p.m. Orders are taken promptly, and the food is served promptly. I enjoyed the food and will be happy to visit the restaurant again.

Although a little out of the way, this place is well worth a visit as the tapas are good. The service lets them down a little, as despite the place only being 25% full, the two people serving (one of which I thibnk was the owner) struggled to get the handful of drinks made and served in a timely fashion. That said, they were friendly and the place has a nice atmnosphere. If I were ever to go back to Remscheid, I'd revisit here.

The food was delicious. The price/performance ratio was okay. We were a little disappointed with the grilled vegetables, which consisted of only peppers and onions. The service was friendly, but the place was quite busy. The omelet and goat cheese we ordered were forgotten. When we asked, we were told there was no goat cheese. We canceled the omelet (since our order hadn't arrived in the kitchen yet) because we were full from the tapas that had already been served. The chicken skewer was very tender and tasty. All in all, a very nice, delicious evening.

Delicious tapas. I liked that there are different packages, and you can choose from two to an unlimited number of tapas within the chosen package. I thought the quality was very good. The owner was very nice and took the time to personally serve us, always having a funny joke on his lips.

Nach ca. 2. Jahren waren wir wieder einmal ganz spontan im Andalucia. Wie wir der örtlichen Presse entnehmen konnten, sollte bereits im vergangenen Jahr ein Inhaberwechsel erfolgen und so waren wir natürlich gespannt. Aber die Übergabe hat sich verzögert und steht nun aber in Kürze bevor. Nach wie vor ist bis auf die drastisch gestiegenen Preise alles beim Alten, der Weißwein war deutlich zu warm und das Essen leider deutlich zu kalt. Früher haben wir schon mal erkaltete Gerichte/Tapas zurückgegeben und quasi unverändert wiederbekommen. Diesmal haben wir es gar nicht erst versucht, am Ostersonntag haben wir eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten müssen und die jungen Damen im Service erschienen arg gestresst und wenig aufmerksam. Kritik wurde lapidar entgegengenommen. Brot mit Aioli zur Überbrückung der Wartezeit, wie anderenorts oft üblich, wurde nicht gereicht. Ein geselliger Tapasabend zu zweit kann hier schon mal je nach Auswahl und ohne Getränke locker 70 bis 80 Euro kosten, ohne anschließend völlig übersättigt zu sein. Ein ordentliches Sümmchen, insbesondere wenn man bedenkt, dass Tapas nun mal keine großartige Kochkunst erfordern und auch viele zugekaufte Produkte zum Einsatz kommen. Ein Mini-Portiönchen Gambas al ajillo mit 5 Gambas schlägt mittlerweile mit 11,90 € zu Buche. Die Speisekarte (2022) der Website ist alles andere als aktuell. Zeitgemäße Gastronomie sieht für uns irgendwie anders aus. Das Roastbeef war leider am frühen Abend bereits ausverkauft und so fiel meine Wahl auf den Grillteller, für 30,90 € hätte ich qualitativ deutlich mehr erwartet als Chorizo, ein knorpeliges Lammkotelett, Schweinelummer und zwei!! Hühnerfleisch-Spieße, sehr dezente Röstaromen, Lummer und Huhn geschmacklich unauffällig und leicht trocken. Und warum zweimal Huhn und kein Rind?! Grillgemüse (in Teilen übergart und ohne Biss) und Kartoffelecken ebenfalls nur gerade einmal lauwarm und anscheinend vorbereitet und nicht frisch gemacht. Wenig Würze, Salz- und Pfeffermühle haben wir auf Nachfrage bekommen. Den warmen Weißwein habe ich mit Eiswürfeln gepanscht, bei einem einfachen Rioja nicht ganz so tragisch, aber natürlich nicht im Sinne des Erfinders. Vom Haus gab es noch einen Absacker, für uns Hierbas und Mono (dulce y seco gemischt). Mit dem neuen Inhaber soll sich nichts ändern, wie wir von einer der Servicedamen erfahren haben. Das ist wirklich schade, eine vernünftige Kühlanlage wäre doch schon mal ein guter Anfang. Aber der Laden läuft seit 1999 rund, in Remscheid gibt es nun mal kaum adäquate Alternativen. Nach unseren Erfahrungen und Erwartungen dürfen wir in diesem Preissegment etwas mehr erwarten, zumindest gut gekühlten Wein und ordentlich temperierte Speisen. Schaun mer mal! 2,5 Punkte gerundet auf 3!

After about two years, we spontaneously returned to the Andalucia. As we read in the local press, a change of ownership was supposed to have taken place last year, so we were naturally excited. However, the handover has been delayed and is now imminent. Apart from the drastically increased prices, everything is still the same: the white wine was significantly too warm, and the food, unfortunately, was considerably too cold. We've returned cold dishes/tapas in the past and received them back virtually unchanged. This time, we didn't even bother. On Easter Sunday, we had to wait an hour for our food, and the young ladies serving seemed extremely stressed and unattentive. Our criticism was met with a laconic response. Bread with aioli to pass the time, as is often the case elsewhere, was not offered. A convivial tapas evening for two can easily cost 70 to 80 euros here, depending on the selection and without drinks, without being completely overstuffed. A hefty sum, especially considering that tapas don't require great culinary skill and many purchased products are used. A mini portion of Gambas al ajillo with 5 prawns now costs €11.90. The website's menu (2022) is anything but up-to-date. Contemporary gastronomy looks somewhat different to us. Unfortunately, the roast beef was already sold out by early evening, so I opted for the grill plate. For €30.90, I would have expected significantly more quality than chorizo, a gristly lamb chop, pork loin, and two!! chicken skewers, with very subtle roasted aromas. The loin and chicken were unremarkable and slightly dry in taste. And why two chickens and no beef?! The grilled vegetables (parts overcooked and lacking in bite) and potato wedges were also only lukewarm and apparently prepared rather than freshly made. We were given a few seasonings, and a salt and pepper grinder upon request. I mixed the warm white wine with ice cubes, which isn't quite as tragic for a simple Rioja, but certainly not in the spirit of the inventor. The house served a nightcap: Hierbas and Mono (a blend of dulce y seco) for us. One of the waitresses told us that nothing will change under the new owner. That's a real shame; a decent refrigeration system would be a good start. But the place has been running smoothly since 1999, and there are hardly any adequate alternatives in Remscheid. Based on our experience and expectations, we can expect a bit more in this price range, at least well-chilled wine and food at the right temperature. We'll see! 2.5 stars rounded to 3!

Not recommended. In the entrance area there is a corner bar atmosphere, four drunks burping and singing. Did we just have a bad evening? Staff is inattentive and busy with smartphones. Some food was forgotten, the table was not cleared. Dessert that had already been ordered was also forgotten. Oh well. There were six of us. We would also have liked more attention to the drinks. We won't be coming back. Too bad

So well....wait 90 minutes for food? Next time maybe. Order when you make a reservation so that you get something that day. Not again

Wir waren nach 2 Jahren wieder im Andalucia, da wir immer wieder uns daran erinnert hatten, wie toll das Essen und der Service war. Nun haben wir die 1 stündige Fahrt auf uns genommen und waren wieder da. Die von uns ausgesuchten 10 Tapas waren alle hervorragend. Service, Lokation und Stimmung waren ebenfalls top. Gerne bald wieder.

Obwohl wir für 5 Personen reserviert hatten, wurden wir an einen Tisch verwiesen, der nur für 4 Personen eingedeckt war. Der fünfte sollte sich vor Kopf setzen, es würde noch ein Gedeck gebracht. Dazu muss gesagt werden, dass der Tisch schon für vier Personen viel zu klein ist. Das haben wir dann abgelehnt und uns an einen anderen 4er Tisch gesetzt, der gerade frei wurde und durch die Sitzbank besser für 5 Personen geeignet war. Der Tisch selbst war natürlich gleich klein wie der erste. Gleichzeitig sassen neben uns drei Personen an einen Vierertisch plus Zusatztisch !?!? Nachdem wir endlich bestellen konnten, dauerte es über eine Stunde bis wir auf Nachfrage endlich unsere Vorspeisen bekamen. Diese hatten wir noch nicht aufgegessen, da stand schon der Koch mit der Hauptspeise am Platz. Der Tisch war mit Speisen völlig überladen und es hätte gar keinen Platz gegeben, um etwas abzustellen. Während des Essens wurde weder mal nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist, noch gefragt, ob bei offensichtlich leeren Gläsern neue Getränke erwünscht sind. Auch das Abräumen der Teller nach dem Essen dauerte ewig. Das Ganze war absolut unorganisiert, unprofessionell und indiskutabel und somit mein letzter Besuch im Andalucia.

So where should I start? Food that was prepared with love, good value for money, very nice staff who respond to special requests, nice ambience, music a little too loud and leftovers lovingly packaged. Overall, highly recommended!!

I have only gotten to know Andalucia for a year. Even though I'm from Remscheid, I've never eaten there... Because from the outside it looked more like a bar. But I have to say when it comes to the food, the service, etc., everything is top! Now I don't even know how many times I've been there in a year😅. Wanted to try a Spanish restaurant again. Since there isn't one near me, I looked for very good restaurants on Maps. I wasn't disappointed. The waitresses were friendly and accommodating. The menu is very extensive and there are not only tapas but also other dishes. The tapas are very tasty. I had, among other things, the baked broccoli and the minced meatballs. It was very, very tasty. But after five tapas I had to stop because nothing was going in. The tapas prices are a bit above average, but worth every penny. An absolute recommendation from my side👍👍👍

Wir waren an einem Samstag Mittag die einzigen Gäste. Deshalb hatten wir die Befürchtung, dass wir aus der reichhaltigen Tapas- Karte vor allem Aufgetautes und Aufgewärmtes bekommen könnten. Nix da: auf den Tisch kamen lauter frisch zubereitete Speisen von hervorragender Qualität und leckerem Geschmack. Die Menge der einzelnen Tapas ist ok, einzig das gegrillte Gemüse war etwas wenig, vor allem, weil es so lecker war. Preise sind angemessen. Service war freundlich. Das Restaurant ist von außen eher unauffällig. Es liegt an einer stark befahren Straße, deshalb ist es eher ungemütlich, an einem der wenigen Tische am Straßenrand zu sitzen.

We had reserved a table for 3 people. We ordered the first round of tapas and drinks. The cold appetizer platter came promptly as did the drinks. It was really tasty. After that, nothing happened for 2 hours, it was hardly possible to order drinks and the first round of tapas didn't come either. Bread that we had ordered didn't come either. After we asked, the first round came. After that it became difficult to order the second round. At 11 p.m. the waiters wanted to cash in and call it a day and of course charged the full price of €40 per person: actually we had only had the appetizer plate and 2 rounds of tapas. (Normally 3 rounds of tapas are included). It was almost impossible to give up the food and it only came after hours. Was the food good? You hardly got anything for €40, but what we got was delicious! Unfortunately only 1 star due to the service.

Unfortunately I have to revise my review from two years ago: We were there on Saturday with three couples and first I would like to say that the food was great and delicious, as always. But unfortunately this time there were a few things that made the evening rather uneven for us. We had reserved a table (the round one on the left at the entrance) and the lady who made the reservation confirmed several times that we would also get this table and was assured each time that it would not be a problem. However, when we arrived it was occupied and we were given a table at the back, squeezed into a corner. That was very annoying and after they apparently noticed that we didn't think it was great, we at least got someone who stood a little more freely in the room. Shortly afterwards we all received a liqueur on the house as a small compensation for the table problem... All three couples chose menu four (per couple a starter platter with cold tapas, four warm taps of your choice and a dessert). When the appetizer plates came, there were only two with the waiter explaining that each plate had more on it, making it the same amount as three appetizer plates. None of us were enthusiastic about that, because on the one hand it is easier for two people to share a platter and on the other hand the idea automatically came to mind how to divide the amount of three plates into two so that it would be the same as if it were we would have gotten three records. If each couple had sat at their own table, they would have gotten three plates. Maybe it would be better to handle it differently. When the warm taps came, we received several that we hadn't ordered. We then complained and received the correct ones. Unfortunately, there were sometimes very long waiting times in between, so that some had something to eat and the others were still waiting and then it was the other way around. It's absolutely fine if not everything comes at once, but it's nice if you can eat more or less together. Every now and then people asked if we had everything. This also happened towards the end of the meal after we had been waiting for the last two tapas for quite a while. We said no because there were two strips of beef fillet missing. Shortly afterwards the waiter came back with the information that the beef fillet strips were out. Some would have gone out but apparently not to us and we were asked to choose two other tapas! I don't want to accuse anyone of anything and it could really have been that way, but it does leave a somewhat bad aftertaste when the tapas that were by far the most expensive of the entire menu are suddenly gone... Since we've all been there several times, there was something else that caught our eye: As we know, everything has become expensive everywhere, including here. That's just the way it is and there's nothing you can do to change it. However, if the portions of various tapas become smaller, it becomes twice as expensive. That is not how it works! One consolation was, and I already said this at the beginning, that the food was, as always, super delicious, but it was still a real shame that we couldn't enjoy the evening as much as usual... Another small note on the side: The menu on the homepage is from 2022 and the prices are no longer correct, it should be updated. Review from two years ago: Very nice Spanish tapas restaurant. Tapas are very tasty, the portions are good and the waiters are all very friendly. There were also no long waiting times, so it was a successful evening. The prices are also ok and if you go out for tapas, you basically know in advance that the evening will be a little more expensive than if you "just" eat a plated meal. We were satisfied and will come back.

The Andalucia is a restaurant which, thanks to the boss and his committed and friendly staff, creates a typically Spanish atmosphere in which I immediately felt at home. From the first moment I set foot in Andalucia, I felt like I had embarked on a journey into the heart of Spain. The warm, inviting atmosphere, coupled with the lively Spanish music in the background, immediately created an authentic ambience that captivated me. In addition to the tapas, Andalucia also impressed with a selection of high-quality Spanish wines that were perfectly matched to the food. The friendly and attentive service rounded off the culinary experience. The staff was always willing to make recommendations and tell more about the origins of the dishes, which further deepened the connection to Spanish culture. The prices were reasonable for the quality and experience offered. Each dish was not only a treat for the palate but also for the eyes as much attention was paid to the presentation. Finally, Andalucia is a gem for anyone who wants to experience authentic Spanish cuisine and culture without having to leave Germany. It is the perfect place for a social evening with friends. I will certainly return to embark on this delicious culinary journey again.

The warm meat tapas weren't so bad! I was pleasantly surprised because the first thing I tried was the sangria and it was terrible. The place is very chaotic, the staff overall is nice. The price is a bit too high in my opinion. I will go again, but maybe not for a dinner for two.

I was pleasantly surprised by the seemingly large number of regular guests, all of whom were greeted personally and in a friendly manner by the staff. That promised a pleasant evening and that promise was kept. It's nice to go there again. Satisfied repeat offender in March 2024: Food remains delicious. Service good. This time the sangria could have been a little richer in terms of alcohol. The small back room was full of happy guests...and a bit noisy.

We were there for the first time this evening and made a reservation for 7:30 p.m. about a week ago. We were there at 1910 and there was still no table available. OK no problem. We were too early. So we waited. After a few minutes a waitress came and said: Although we had reserved for 1930, it was not certain that a table would be available at 1930. Hm....Why do I make a reservation then? The young woman offered us a seat at the wine barrel (table) in the window facing Elberfelder Strasse. We did that even though neither of us like those stools. Then nothing happened except handing over the bottle of water. When after about 10 minutes no one wanted to take the order, we wrote the numbers on a napkin and handed them to the next waitress. After about 20 minutes the bread arrived and after another 30 minutes three of the four tapas we ordered. Conclusion so far: I never waited more than 45 minutes for tapas in Spain or Germany. The 5th tapas (the meat skewer) came another 10 minutes later. Since the patatas bravas, which were intended as a side dish, got cold, we had already eaten them before the skewer was at the table. And about the meat skewer it should be written: The meat was warm, the mushrooms were cold. I don't know if that's correct. When clearing away the waitress almost managed to throw all the plates on the floor. My wife just said: I've never worked in the restaurant industry. Apparently not them either. Summary: We paid 60 euros for generally decent food, but the service is one star too good. For me the evening was a waste of time. And I was so happy, especially because of the many good reviews. So, we won't be coming back.

We have been to the restaurant several times and have always been very satisfied. The ambience is appealing and service (Giuseppe & Paula) very presentable and very friendly. All around a lovely evening

We were there last week. The food was good, but at least the bread that was served was strange. It was cold and tasted a bit musty like the day before. In response to my complaint, new bread was brought to us. It was slightly warmed and tasted slightly better. In my opinion it lacks salt. It was a shame because it reduced the taste of the delicious dips that were served. The tapas themselves were good and the meat and fish very well cooked and crispy. There's nothing to complain about there. The ambience needs a bit of an overhaul for me. Inside the restaurant I found the bench uncomfortable. I didn't feel like I was in Andalusia. The service was friendly and quick. There is nothing wrong here

The food was excellent 👌🏼, friendliness is also very important here. Was a great evening. Gladly again.

There is always something going on here - a very successful combination of restaurant and counter shop which brings life into the shop. Very pleasant crowd, always busy.
