Amell in Dresden

Zum Geburtstag hier gewesen. Sehr leckeres Essen, das beste Kimchi und zum Abschluss ein kleines Geburtstagslied und Präsent. Rundherum gelungen.

Unsere Erwartungen waren hoch, da wir aufgrund einer Empfehlung gekommen sind. Der erste Eindruck war durchaus positiv: Das Konzept mit dem Schuheausziehen, die entspannte Musik und die familiäre Atmosphäre wirken charmant und persönlich. Leider wurde diese Stimmung schnell durch die sehr eng gestellten Tische und die spürbare Hektik im Service getrübt. Die Kellnerin wirkte überfordert und unorganisiert, und wir mussten sowohl auf die Aufnahme der Bestellung als auch auf die Speisen ungewöhnlich lange warten. Irritierend war zunächst, dass auf die Nachfrage nach etwas zusätzlicher Schärfe direkt mit „Wir nutzen hier kein Chilipulver“ reagiert wurde. Im Nachhinein war es doch möglich, dennoch wirkte die erste Reaktion wenig flexibel und etwas befremdlich. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass unsere Gerichte zeitlich stark versetzt serviert wurden. Teilweise lagen bis zu 30 Minuten dazwischen. Für einen gemeinsamen Abend ist das wirklich ein no-go (wir waren zu viert). Positiv hervorzuheben ist der hausgemachte Kimchi, einer der besten, den ich bisher gegessen habe. Das Japchae hingegen waren geschmacklich leider sehr enttäuschend und wurden erst durch die extra scharfe Sauce etwas aufgewertet. In einem anderen Gericht fanden sich zudem größere Knorpelstücke. Auch der Mangosaft für 7 € wirkte leider stark mit Wasser verdünnt. Insgesamt war der Abend für uns dieses Mal enttäuschend. Wir wissen von anderen, dass das Restaurant deutlich besser sein kann, umso bedauerlicher, dass an diesem Abend sowohl Service als auch Qualität nicht überzeugen konnten. Daher vergeben wir drei Sterne.

Es ist ein schönes Lokal, eher ein Erlebnis. Man fühlt sich fast wie bei Freunden zu Hause. Getränk und Vorspeise waren lecker. Das Essen war okay. Ich war am Valentinstag dort, deshalb musste ich sehr lange auf mein Essen warten.

Das in Worte zu fassen, was wir heute im Amell erlebt haben. Es fühlt sich kein Stück nach einem Restaurant an, ohne Zweifel ist es eins, dich eher wie ein Besuch bei Freunden. Es ist alles so unfassbar liebevoll, dass man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Und wenn man dann versteht, dass es eine one Woman Show ist und die Leidenschaft und Liebe dieser Dame spürt, fühlt man sich irgendwie auserwählt, das Sie einen bekocht. Man ist hier wirklich zu Gast, als Teil des Lebens der Inhaberin. Und das ist spürbar und umwerfend. Doch zum Essen. Wir kommen aus Berlin und haben unzählige Male koreanisch gegessen. Das Amell hat alles übertroffen, wo wir je waren. Ich würde für unser heutiges Erlebnis gern 7 Sterne geben. Geht nur nicht. Wir sind Regelmäßig in Dresden und somit nun auch immer im Amell.

DIE SPEISEN & DER SERVICE - SPEKTAKULÄR! Da wir uns nicht auskannten, wurden wir liebevoll von Heinrich in die Koreanische Küche eingewiesen. Unsere Speisen waren dermaßen lecker, da komme ich direkt ins Schwärmen. Wir sind maximal zufrieden! Das Restaurant, ein Familienunternehmen, ist im Homecooking-Stil sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl & durch den hervorragenden Service sehr willkommen. Die Preise sind auch fair! Entsprechend der Koreanische Kultur muss man vor Betreten des Restaurant die Schuhe ausziehen. Hausschuh stehen ausreichend zur Verfügung & der Fußboden ist angenehm warm. Vorbestellen ist durchaus sinnvoll.

Wirklich alles grandios dort. Ambiente, das Essen und der Service. Einfach nur Balsam für die Seele! Just a little food heaven in Dresden.

Immer wieder toll! Wor lieben das Essen von Amell!

Das erste mal bei Amell gewesen. Die Idee und Geschichte, die hinter diesem Restaurant steht, ist sehr schön. Als würde man zu jemanden nach Hause kommen. Uns kam es vor als sitzen wir in einer Küche, sehr hell, gemütlich ist es dort nicht. Amell, bedient und kocht gleichzeitig, also Zeit mitbringen. Das Essen war geschmackvoll, ob alles frisch zubereitet war, bezweifeln wir, man konnte ein paar mal die Mikrowelle hören. Zum Preis, Leistungsverhältnis, für so kleine Teller.....viel zu teuer. Mein Mann ist dort nicht satt geworden. Nun wir haben es probiert, noch einmal auf garkeinen Fall.

Ich bin begeistert. Wie lecker! Und eine schöne Atmosphäre; sehr zu empfehlen.🫶

Hausgemachtes koreanisches Essen, sehr lecker.

After a week in Crete, my wife was desperate to go to a Korean restaurant because she'd finished her Korean Netflix series after six months. Since she had cleaned the apartment so nicely on Sunday, I reluctantly complied. We shared a large appetizer and ate three main courses between us. We drank rice wine and a mango lassi. The life story of the lady of the house and her son is impressive. Thank you for this wonderful experience, the hospitality, and the pleasant background music.

Very delicious food and very friendly service. Authentic cuisine. Very lovingly decorated. The garden was just perfect in late summer. Some of the drinks and food were unusual for Europeans, but authentic and delicious. You should allow yourself some time, as it seems like only one person is cooking. Prices are reasonable.

It's hard to believe: We're familiar with the term "one-man show," but here it's a friendly Korean woman who answers the phone, takes orders, prepares the (incredibly delicious) food, serves, and collects the money. Only the "goodbye and have a nice evening" came from her incredibly sweet son, who is only 7 and was grateful to have the opportunity to chat with us. A very small restaurant with only five tables, and not just because you actually swap your shoes for slippers at the entrance, you feel like you're at home. We had three courses and went home very satisfied and well-fed.

Absolutly in love for this restaurant, one of my best memories from Dresden. Merci encore Amell.

For our second visit to Amell, everything was once again delicious. Bulgogi and Bimbimbap highly recommended! Family atmosphere and soft music. We will be back again!

Very tasty. Expect a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.

This is a place I visited every night during my several-day business trip. The dishes were pork ssambap, bulgogi ssambap, and pancakes. The portions of rice, meat, and vegetables were generous, and the perilla leaves that came with them were especially special. The owner personally prepares the food, and his skills are top-notch! Everyone is friendly. I would definitely return.

This is our third time there, and it's been a delight every time! The owner is incredibly friendly, and the food is really, really good at a fair price. I haven't noticed any difference between the dishes I've tried so far and my visit to South Korea. We can therefore recommend Amell without reservation, and it's no comparison to, for example, the Korean restaurant in Dresden Neustadt on Königsbrücker.

A discovery! Totally unconventional and incredibly delicious. You just have to give it a try!

Highly recommended. If you like peace and quiet, high-quality food, and delicious Korean dishes and drinks, this is the place for you. The owner/chef and her son are true treasures. We were on a date and (thanks in part to her son) left their restaurant with full stomachs, small sweets in hand, and a big smile. :) The decor is very personal and has a living room feel. If you're in a hurry or prefer a neutral atmosphere, you'll probably have less fun here. My tip, at least for sweet drinks, is the rice punch!

The two of us were at Amell on Tuesday and felt completely at home, the service was very nice, the food was fantastic and the small restaurant gives you a very "homey" feeling. We would be happy to make the journey from Dipps again!

Food is good. Since it is homemade, but involves a long waiting time. For me it took around 50 minutes. The atmosphere seems a bit chaotic/thrown together. So it's like eating in a guesthouse. But it seems very familiar and friendly. Will come back and test more. Because of the slightly higher prices, I would prefer banchan as "sidedish" which you don't have to buy separately. Very good food in a pleasant atmosphere. The food tasted very good and you can tell that everything is freshly prepared. The portions are completely sufficient and the prices are fair. The owner serves you herself, which is why it takes a little longer. She is very friendly and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy. You have to take your shoes off when you come in, which isn't a problem as everything is very clean. There is an extremely cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and you feel very comfortable. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, so you feel at home. Although there are some Christian sayings and symbols that may not appeal to everyone.

Amell is a very loving person. The food almost becomes a minor matter. ❤️

Very cute restaurant with a friendly owner in a somewhat hidden location. We had the restaurant to ourselves on a Wednesday evening and felt very welcome. The waiting time to eat is certainly longer than in other restaurants, but due to the nice atmosphere and the good company, that wasn't a problem for us. It's the most delicious Korean restaurant I've ever eaten at!! They cook it with great care, just like a home-cooked meal, and everything from the food to the kimchi is really, really delicious. Above all, the seasoning of the dish is not spicy, so it is easy to eat after eating, and it is more refined and delicious than the Korean food eaten in Korea❤️ Thanks to the always kind owner, my husband and I had a delicious and enjoyable New Year. One of the few restaurants that offers authentic korean food in a great and warm atmosphere. Everything seems very welcoming and the food tasted always tastes delicious! One of my favourite restaurants since I have moved to Dresden.

Very good food. The preparation can also take a little longer, but you should be prepared for that. You don't get fast food here. The owner cooks and serves herself, at least that was the case when we visited in the evening. She speaks English very well. She is currently learning German. We have no problem with that :-) and are happy to recommend your kitchen.

The operator is very nice and friendly, but since she is alone in the kitchen and the waitress doesn't understand much German, the service unfortunately falls by the wayside. The food is very good, although the portions could be a bit larger. It is not a place for a long, cozy get-together. Too bad.

The food was delicious and everyone was very friendly. The service is still a bit lacking in routine, but everything went quite quickly considering that it was relatively full. The prices are a little higher than you would have expected given the location, but ok for the quality. Portions are not very large, if you are very hungry you should order side dishes. The ambience is rather simple and functional. Shoes should be removed. What no one has mentioned here yet, but I think it should be known because it also has a strong impact on the ambience and personal taste: There are very intrusive Christian sayings and symbols everywhere.

We would like to give 10 stars. Komasemida thank you thank you thank you for giving us the extra space including family connection. We felt very comfortable and welcome. The excellent food, which was prepared and explained with a lot of love, was perfect and extremely tasty. Thanks to the owner's son for his company, he's a great, great boy. If we are in Dresden again we will come back, then with a reservation.

The Amell is a small, cozy restaurant in Dresden that impresses with its authentic Korean cuisine. You immediately feel welcome, not least because of the nice gesture of swapping your street shoes for slippers. The selection of dishes is limited, but each one is prepared with a lot of love. The homemade dumplings and soups are particularly delicious! The service is always friendly and makes you feel completely comfortable. For me, Amell is a wonderful place to enjoy great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Absolute recommendation!

As a Korean, I'm always looking for the authentic taste of Korean food and this place was definitely one of the best places in Saxony that offers authentic Korean dishes. The owner was very friendly and kind. It was worth a visit from far away for the home food. Thumbs up!!

I've been here twice and everything tasted fantastic every time! The landlady does both the service and the cooking herself, so it can sometimes take longer. But the wait is worth it every time :)

We absolutely loved it! I went with a friend, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food? Beyond amazing! We ordered Japchae (highly recommended!) and Bibimbap, and both dishes were bursting with flavor—simply delicious. The owner is such a kind and lovely person, and hearing her inspiring story about coming from Korea to Germany just added to the charm of the place. My daughter and I went to Amell for the first time on Friday. A small, sweet and lovingly decorated restaurant. The food and also the starter were very tasty and lovingly prepared and served. The mango latte was delicious iced. The service was very nice and quick. And if you consider that the boss prepares everything herself and freshly, the waiting time was OK. It was definitely a culinary delight for my daughter and I. We'll definitely be back.

The food was fresh and delicious. Big drawback: The portions weren't big enough to fill you up even for those who usually leave something left over, even if you ordered an appetizer AND an additional kimchi side dish, you could describe it as a snack or appetizer at best. By the way: €9 for a small bowl of cucumber kimchi/salad (according to the menu it was a large portion, a little bigger than a rice bowl) is a bit cheeky. The portions were particularly tiny for Bibimbap, where the material value of the ingredients is a few cents. There is really no good reason for this, especially since the prices are by no means cheap. Unfortunately the service wasn't professional at all, it took 15 minutes for an extra portion of rice and another request, the rest of the food was cold by then. Unfortunately, Ikea garden furniture has no upholstery to sit outside and is therefore extremely uncomfortable after 15 minutes. So if you know your way around a bit and order more right from the start (then you just need two main dishes per person and end up paying 40 to 50€ per person with drinks), then it can probably work out that you don't have to eat again at home have to eat. The food is delicious, but also extremely simple, so the price unfortunately doesn't match what you get. Unfortunately, the recent price increases are far above the general price increase and cannot be justified by inflation (as in many restaurants).

We went to Amell for lunch spontaneously and for the first time. In the outdoor area you have the feeling that you are sitting in the garden with friends. While you're waiting, you'll work up an appetite because it smells so delicious. The food is prepared very lovingly and you experience an explosion of taste with the first bite. In my opinion the spices are perfectly balanced. We had to wait a relatively long time, but considering that the landlady does everything herself, that's completely fine. In addition, enjoyment is the main focus when visiting a restaurant. We were so excited that we will definitely come back soon. In addition to the very friendly service, the quality of the food was excellent.

This wonderful restaurant is hidden inconspicuously in Trachenberge. I can't estimate how authentic it is, but I can say that it tastes very, very tasty. The only point of criticism: you have to take your time from ordering to eating. We waited 1 hour. For lunch you should perhaps concentrate on just 2-3 dishes.

I stopped by on my way to Dresden on a business trip~ Actually, it's not a tourist destination, but it's located in a residential area, so it takes a while to get there, but it looks like a remodeled home, and I really miss Korean food when I stay in Europe for a long time, but it was like a welcome rain during the drought. I had kimchi fried rice, tteokbokki, and soft tofu stew, and it really tasted like home cooking. I enjoyed it so much. It's a shame I couldn't take a picture because I was so hungry. Mainly German locals come here, but when Koreans come, they seem to put even more effort into the food. You are kind and your son is very cute haha. However, there is a distance, and it takes a while to make it if there are a lot of customers, so come when you have time. (I made a reservation in advance via message and ate there quickly, but there were also people waiting~) I enjoyed the meal ^^

Came to this place by chance! Shoes had to be taken off...there were only a few seats inside, which is why you probably have to make a reservation, especially on the weekend. The food was very tasty and was cooked by the owner herself. I can't confirm that it took a long time, like some reviews here. If you're in the area and like authentic Korean cuisine, you should definitely stop by. But there should also be cash with you because the card reader didn't work.

You have to have been there at least once. And I will do it again and again.

It's like a home. According to the owner, this is just a typical restaurant in Korea and not a gourmet restaurant. However, when you travel around Europe, there are many places that sell basic Korean food at high prices. I think this place is faithful to the basics, and the prices are cheaper than other Korean restaurants. I remember that the stir-fried pork rice bowl was 13.xx euros. However, what is disappointing is that the main customer base is local Germans, so the store is located far away from tourist attractions.

We were here for the first time last night and definitely not the last time. We were thrilled by the beautiful and quiet atmosphere, as if you were visiting good friends. The selection is plentiful and most are also available vegan or vegetarian. There are wonderfully delicious drinks. But the food was the icing on the cake - we all tasted fantastic and we would have loved to lick our plates :) From starter to dessert it was a dream. We will be back definitely! The owner is an extremely sweet woman and her child is also very nice and cute. The food was so good that I regretted eating a sandwich a few hours earlier. The service was quick, friendly and good. I sat in the outside area of ​​the restaurant and it was well maintained and relaxing to sit there. The inside of the restaurant also looked very inviting and was really nice. All in all 10/10, will definitely go there again!

We try out many restaurants in Dresden and went here for dinner. Very great atmosphere to relax. Very tasty food and in my understanding as a non-connoisseur of Korean cuisine, this is very authentic Korean cuisine. Amell is incredibly hospitable and even though there was a lot going on on our evening and we had to wait quite a long time, it didn't feel bad and was an experience for the whole evening. There is a very large selection for vegetarians and I recommend the great teas. Oh, it's an advantage if you can speak English
