Six of us went there for dinner today. We reserved a table in advance by phone. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and personally shown to our tables. This was very accommodating and we particularly enjoyed it. The entire service team made a great effort and were very friendly throughout the evening. The food served was delicious. We each enjoyed a starter, the house salad, a main course, and dessert. Everything tasted excellent and couldn't have been better. We would give the restaurant a star immediately if we could. Everything was beautifully presented and fabulously seasoned. At the end of the meal, the entire team bid us a warm farewell. We are absolutely delighted and will gladly come back. Highly recommended.

I was there for the first time today and I can't stop raving about it. A very cozy atmosphere with a view of the harbor, and a wonderfully well-coordinated team of staff who are extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is simply delicious, to put it simply: generous portions and a wonderful taste experience, the likes of which I've never personally experienced at a Greek restaurant before. I'd love to be a guest here more often in the future.

The prices and portions were reasonable, and the food was solid. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired: After being served, we were completely ignored, sat for over an hour without drinks, and waving at us only yielded a nod. In the end, we had to pay ourselves at the restaurant.

The reception was quite nice. I would describe the food as average. The appetizer was quite good. It's worth eating once, but it's not exactly a standout. The gyro with Metaxa sauce and baked cheese was okay, but very bland and nothing special. The service was nice, but three people came by and each wanted to take their order (the first one had already given it). The music was quite loud. The fruit flies were the most annoying, though.

This restaurant is highly recommended, as the atmosphere is extremely inviting. The service is friendly and very quick, which makes the visit even more pleasant. The food was delicious and plentiful, so you leave the place more than satisfied. The prices are also reasonable, which rounds out the overall package. I would gladly return anytime and can only warmly recommend it.

A nice restaurant in itself, with good food (if you can even judge that after one visit), in a pleasant setting. The portions are manageable, however. One particularly negative aspect was the unfriendly waiter. Unfortunately, this has nothing in common with Greek hospitality.

We received a cold welcome upon entering; the lady at the door seemed annoyed from the start. The waiter, a man with glasses and slicked-back hair, was equally unfriendly. A small special request was immediately met with disparaging remarks – that's unacceptable. The food was okay, but far too little and overpriced. The worst part was the service: an endless wait, rude replies, and behavior when paying that can only be described as disrespectful. As we left, the lady followed up with a remark in Greek – certainly not meant in a friendly way. I felt inferior! In short: rude, expensive, and not a place I would ever go back to.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was a thoroughly disappointing experience. While the welcome was okay, the waiter seemed annoyed and unfriendly as soon as we handed over the menu – a tone you don't expect as a guest in a restaurant. When ordering, the same waiter reacted with skepticism to a simple special request (a dish without side dishes, as they are intolerant). Being looked at strangely for such a thing is simply unprofessional for a restaurant in this price range. The food tasted acceptable, but the portions were tiny. The price is by no means justified – the price-performance ratio is completely out of proportion. Even worse, however, was the service. We had to wait over half an hour for the bill without being able to reach the waiter. When he finally appeared, he responded with an annoyed "I'll be right there." When we paid, he silently placed an iPad on the table, stared at us, and then slammed his hand on the table to force us to respond. This behavior is disrespectful and absolutely unacceptable. The sad conclusion was the farewell: As we left the restaurant, we were shouted comments in Greek that, in tone and expression, were anything but friendly. Conclusion: The taste was okay, but far too expensive for the portions. The service, however, was consistently rude, annoyed, and disrespectful. For us, it was an extremely unpleasant visit – a restaurant we cannot recommend to anyone.

The food was good. The portions were a bit too small for the price. There doesn't necessarily need to be more meat, but fries, rice, salad, and tzatziki should fill the plate and not cost a fortune. A mini portion of tzatziki costs €6.90 – a bit cheeky for quark, considering the portion (see photo).

There seem to be two classes of guests there...familiar faces were conjured up cushions for the hard, uncomfortable chairs. Where do we begin: No "Good evening"...but "Do you have a reservation?" Loveless, empty tables...no flowers...no salt/pepper. No ashtray. The waitress was so stressed that she just slammed your drink down on the table. The garlic bread as an appetizer was so crunchy you could have bashed a hole in someone's head with it. Hauptmann (Captain) Fried fries without salt. Gyros were absolutely greasy and marbled...no seasoning. Tzatziki was bland. Chicken breast and pork fillet were still raw. Gyros in tomato garlic sauce, a mini portion...no tomatoes in sight. The service was very poor...no one asked if everything was okay...if we wanted another drink...nothing. Apparently the owner is incapable of taking criticism...because he got grumpy when I complained about the food...sorry, we'll give you six. We definitely won't recommend you and will go to the restaurant across the street...

Very friendly and competent service, requests are addressed immediately and every effort is made to accommodate them. The best gyros, tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The ambiance is inviting, with a nice, tidy outdoor area and a pleasant interior spread over two floors.

The restaurant is very nice and easily accessible, located directly at Neustädter Hafen. From the restaurant you have a very nice view - over the parking lot - of the ships in the harbor and the "KLÜVERS" brewery opposite. The cuisine at AMBROSIA is often referred to by locals as “GREEK HAUTE CUISINE”. The food is extremely tasty, beautifully prepared - as we all know, the eye eats with it - and is served in very small gourmet portions in the high-price segment. The ambience is not very Greek and with the cobblestones in front of the old half-timbered house, it is not very handicapped friendly, but it is VERY COZY! The atmosphere in the guest room (over two levels) is also nice and very clean! The sweeping even takes place while the guests are still eating. For lovers of "GREEK HAUTE CUISINE" Ambrosia is the right place and if you only express benevolence and praise to the innkeeper, you are always a welcome guest. BON APPETIT!!!

Food expensive and little but the taste was okay, although quite salty. Afterwards we went for a bratwurst to fill us up. The service was miserable. Of the 4 dishes ordered, 3 were delivered differently than they were ordered. Then we should even pay the higher price for the food we didn't order. We could have let them go back (and then gotten nothing because the kitchen had already gone into service on time). Never again!

Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis – absolut empfehlenswert! Ich war total begeistert von diesem Restaurant! Die Lage direkt am Meer ist einfach traumhaft – man sitzt mit einem atemberaubenden Blick auf das Wasser. Das allein wäre schon Grund genug für einen Besuch! Aber auch das Essen war absolut fantastisch. Jeder Gang war mit Liebe zubereitet, frisch, kreativ und voller Geschmack. Was den Abend aber wirklich besonders gemacht hat, war das Personal: super freundlich, herzlich und mit einer Prise Humor. Man hat sich sofort willkommen gefühlt und viel gelacht. Man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Wir sind im Frühjahr schonmal hier gewesen -ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die gutes Essen, eine tolle Atmosphäre und herzliche Gastfreundschaft schätzen!

A beautiful place to stay, the old warehouse is great, the staff are absolutely friendly and they anticipate almost all your wishes. The food is absolutely top notch. I've traveled a lot around the world and have to say that it doesn't taste as good elsewhere. If I come back, Ambrosia will be my first stop. I can't understand bad reviews - perhaps these people were somewhere else?

My business partner and I were at Ambrosia on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025 at 8:30 p.m. The staff and especially the owner were very polite and accommodating. The service was excellent and quick. We had two starters and a shared grill platter of beef liver, gyros, suflaki and bifteki. Plus fries and tzatziki. Everything was perfect, prepared first-class and very tasteful. The ambience is appealing and we will eat here more often in the future. Prices are appropriate for the service.

The best Greek in Neustadt. Update has been great for years now. The food was delicious, the boss Sakis and his team were very hospitable and attentive. We always enjoy being here, keep it up.

We were there in the evening with two people without a reservation. The reception was very friendly and we were immediately given a nice table. Ambience is very bright and not as cluttered as other Greeks. Unfortunately the music was extremely loud and annoying (a wildly screaming singer sang folkloric songs). Our order was taken quickly and the food came extremely quickly (always gives me something to think about, especially since the restaurant was busy). The taste of the food was ok, but it didn't really blow me away. There were canned carrots in the buttered rice, all types of meat had the same seasoning and some of the side dishes were raw. Unfortunately the entire service stopped after that. We were neither asked whether everything was OK nor whether we had any further wishes. Nobody came to ask for more drinks or to take any dessert orders. Unfortunately, the service person who cleared our table didn't understand us; we asked her to send someone to us to take further orders. After we waited in vain and no one came to us, we gave up. The payment process was very time-consuming and it took some time before the waitress finally noticed us despite waving and calling. All in all, I don't need this again!

Eine freundliche Begrüßung und die Einrichtung sorgen von Anfang an für eine tolle Atmosphäre, fast als besuche man Freunde und das bei unserem ersten Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Die bestellten Getränke kamen schnell an den Tisch und die Aufnahme der Speisenwünsche erfolgte geduldig. Die Gerichte waren schön angerichtet und sehr schmackhaft und...die Teller waren nicht so überladen, wie es sonst beim "Griechen" schon fast üblich ist. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und würden, wenn dort leben würden, wohl überzeugte Stammgäste werden. So muss unser Besuch warten, bis wir mal wieder in der Region sind.

Wir haben hier öfter gegessen und waren stets zufrieden. Leider dieses mal überhaupt nicht. Die Giros habe ich zur Seite geschoben, da richtig fett. Der Wirt erklärte, anderes Fleisch bekommen zu haben. Dann aber hätte er das nicht servieren sollen. Die Preise waren vorher schon recht hoch, aber bisher für gute Qualität akzeptabel. Werden erstmal eine längere Pause einlegen.

Ein echtes Juwel am Hafen! Die Aussicht auf das Wasser ist einfach fantastisch und sorgt für ein ganz besonderes Ambiente. Jedes Gericht war mit viel Liebe zubereitet, und die frischen Zutaten haben das Geschmackserlebnis perfekt abgerundet. Besonders die Vielfalt an vegetarischen Gerichten hat mich begeistert. Es ist selten, dass so viel Kreativität und Geschmack in fleischlose Optionen gesteckt wird – jedes Gericht war ein Genuss Besonders „Svista“ , „Kritharoto“ „Kotopoulo Gemisto & „Arni Kleftiko“ haben uns begeistert. Der Service war herzlich, aufmerksam und hat den Abend perfekt gemacht. Wer gutes Essen und eine tolle Aussicht sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Personal ist herzlich und professionell, die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und einladend. Ein idealer Ort, um den Tag bei einem leckeren griechischen Mahl und dem Blick auf das Wasser ausklingen zu lassen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

A real gem on the harbor! The view of the water is simply fantastic and creates a very special ambience. No matter whether you relax and watch the boats or simply enjoy the fresh breeze - the location is a real highlight. The food was to die for! Every dish was prepared with a lot of love and the fresh ingredients rounded off the taste experience perfectly. I was particularly impressed by the variety of vegetarian dishes. It's rare to see so much creativity and flavor put into meat-free options - every dish was a delight We were particularly impressed by “Svista”, “Kritharoto”, “Kotopoulo Gemisto & “Arni Kleftiko”. The service was warm, attentive and made the evening perfect. If you're looking for good food and a great view, this is the place for you. This restaurant is a must and I look forward to my next visit! Thank you very much for everything 🩵

Very tasty food, served by attentive, friendly and fast service. The meat was cooked to perfection. There were 6 of us and everyone loved the food. We were allowed to take our big dog with us and had a great evening.

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Were there with a group. The food came to the table at the same time and no one had anything to complain about. I eat there 2-3 times a year, so I can confirm this over a certain period of time. During the tourist season, the timing and time for the guest is of course different... but the quality of the food is the same!

Four of us had dinner there on Saturday evening! We then ordered our drinks and a starter and then only wanted to order three dishes as I wasn't feeling well! But apparently it was a problem! We were treated more than rudely, you couldn't occupy four seats on a Saturday and only order three dishes! Despite the explanation, it wasn't possible, so we ordered a little something extra! We enjoyed the food! When we paid I gave the business card back and I got a slap on the shoulder saying: Leave it alone! An impossible behavior!!!! NEVER AGAIN !

Very friendly, attentive and obliging service, the salad with the meal had a nice light dressing. If anything could be suggested, it would be a little more Greek herbs in the sauce for the baked dish, because otherwise the food was excellent.

Ich hatte Gyros, war top. Bedienung auch sehr freundlich. Ein Stern Abzug für den Sitzplatz. Tisch war sehr klein und durch eine Stütze direkt neben dem Tisch mangelte es an Bein - und Armfreiheit.

Wir (2 Personen) hätten gewarnt sein müssen: Um die Mittagszeit waren wir die einzigen Gäste, etwas später kam noch ein zweites älteres Paar. Unsere Bestellung: 1x Gyrospfanne in Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce (€ 19.70), 1x Tzatziki (€ 6,90), 1x Bauernsalat/Choriatiki (€ 13,90) und 2x stilles Tafelwasser 0,3 zu € 6,40. Der Kellner wurde durch unsere Bestellung wohl gestört und nahm diese entsprechend lustlos auf. Überraschend schnell wurde ohne ein weiteres Wort alles auf den Tisch gestellt. Das Tzatziki fanden wir auf einem etwa untertassengroßen Tellerchen mit ca. 3-4 gestrichenen flachen Esslöffeln Tzatziki, einer halben dünnen kleinen Gurkenscheibe und einer Olive. Der Bauernsalat entpuppte sich als ausgesprochen übersichtlich mit einem extrem dünnen und kleinen Käsestückchen und 2 knallharten nicht essbaren Peperoni. Bei Gurken, Tomaten und Zwiebeln kann man ja gottlob kaum etwas falsch machen. In der Gyrospfanne war von Gyros nichts zu sehen, weil alles in der Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce von undefinierbarer Farbe ertränkt war. Aber vielleicht heißt es ja deshalb: IN Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce. Leider konnte man dieses Gyros nicht essen, es war an Zähigkeit nicht zu überbieten. Auf Nachfrage hieß es: „Das machen wir seit 100 Jahren so“. Ach so, deshalb so hart, zäh und vermutlich abgestanden? Zur ausgesprochen winzigen Tzatziki-Portion zu immerhin 6,90 wurde zunehmend unwillig gesagt: „Ich kann nicht 1 Pfund Tzatziki geben!“ und weiter: „Du hast doch vorher die Preisliste gesehen!“ Dieser intelligente Einwand blendet völlig aus, dass man anhand des Preises kaum die Portion erkennen kann – schon gemerkt? Und was heißt „DU“? Dummdreiste Ansprache an Fremde und zahlende Gäste ist hier an der Tagesordnung? Und dann wie aus heiterem Himmel knallt uns dieser „Herr“ die Rechnung auf den Tisch mit den Worten: „Du bezahlst jetzt und kommst nie wieder!!“ Da hat doch tatsächlich dieser unerwünschte Gast gewagt, etwas zu fragen! Gibt's das?! Nachdem wir noch eine kurze Zeit am Tisch sitzen geblieben sind, um das „Tafel“-Leitungswasser zu Ende zu genießen, legten wir einen 50-Euro-Schein auf den Tisch. Diesen griff er, rannte weg, kam mit nicht ganz passendem Wechselgeld zurück, knallte es vor uns auf den Tisch und brüllte: „Da, ich geb' Dir sogar noch Trinkgeld!“ Inzwischen war ein anderer Mitarbeiter aufgewacht, der bisher nur am Tresen mit seinem Handy gelümmelt hatte. Ein dritter jüngerer Mann hatte sich mehr oder wenigen erschreckt in eine Ecke in Thekennähe verzogen. Das später erschienene zweite Paar rührte sich nicht mehr. Es ist wirklich nicht zu verstehen: Ein Kellner mit Null Umgangsformen, völligem Desinteresse gegenüber den Gästen, der sich hier aufführt wie die Axt im Wald und extrem schlechtem Benehmen wird auf die Menschheit losgelassen. Wir prophezeien: Weiter so, dann kannst „DU“ den Laden bald schließen. Dieses war wohl kein Einzelfall, denn weitere Gäste waren während unseres Aufenthaltes hier nicht zu sehen. Schlechte Bewertungen sind Internet manchmal mit Vorsicht zu genießen, aber hier sind sie durchaus angebracht. „... und kommst nie wieder!!“ Wenigstens das hat dieser „Kellner“ begriffen. Der Betreiber dieses Ladens sollte sich ganz schnell Gedanken machen, denn zahlende Gäste haben auch in Neustadt und Umgebung genügend andere Auswahl zur Verfügung.
