Ambrosia Griechisches Restaurant in Neustadt in Holstein

The restaurant is very nice and easily accessible, located right on Neustadt Harbor. Since Ambrosia is open later in the evening than other restaurants in Neustadt, we arrived at 8:45 p.m. on a Friday, hungry and in a happy weekend mood after a busy week. We sat down at the table, received our menus, and wanted to start a friendly chat with the male server by asking how he was feeling. However, he had "clenched his face into a fist" and muttered grumpily, "It's a must, it's a must." I opted for meal number 24: Alternative HOT PLATTER for 1 person for 24.90 Description on the menu: with zucchini, eggplant, broad beans, dolmadakia, saganaki, chtipiti, sardines, 1 king prawn, garlic paste, garlic bread, and octopus salad. What was served was very attractive and delicious, but did not match the description on the menu. The eggplant and king prawns were completely missing, dolmadakia and sardines (plural) were only available once each, and the remaining dishes were extremely bland and minimalistic! It was appetizingly presented and tasted good, but in my opinion, the price-performance ratio wasn't right. When we were asked during the clearing of our plates if everything was okay, we replied that the king prawns and eggplant were missing. Unfortunately, by that point, the server no longer remembered what he had served us. However, that didn't stop him from starting a heated argument. We repeatedly asked for Saki, the owner of the restaurant, to join us. We invited him to sit down at our table to discuss the problem. Unfortunately, he was not at all open to constructive criticism. He immediately became loud, cursed at us, and even told us to shut up. We paid for our food and were about to leave the restaurant when he called after us that we should go to the "Italian" restaurant from now on. Saki FOLLOWED us to the door to say "goodbye"...definitely not!!!

Really nice, modern Greek restaurant. The food was beautifully put together and presented, there was more than just classic gyros with fries... simply super delicious! And the owners are also very nice. It was unusually busy for the winter season, but the service was still okay.

Very friendly, the two of us got a place on Friday evening without a reservation. Unfortunately only in the lower part, but that was completely okay without a reservation. We were there in the evening with two people without a reservation. The reception was very friendly and we were immediately given a nice table. Ambience is very bright and not as cluttered as other Greeks. Unfortunately the music was extremely loud and annoying (a wildly screaming singer sang folkloric songs). Our order was taken quickly and the food came extremely quickly (always gives me something to think about, especially since the restaurant was busy). The taste of the food was ok, but it didn't really blow me away. There were canned carrots in the buttered rice, all types of meat had the same seasoning and some of the side dishes were raw. Unfortunately the entire service stopped after that. We were neither asked whether everything was OK nor whether we had any further wishes. Nobody came to ask for more drinks or to take any dessert orders. Unfortunately, the service person who cleared our table didn't understand us; we asked her to send someone to us to take further orders. After we waited in vain and no one came to us, we gave up. The payment process was very time-consuming and it took some time before the waitress finally noticed us despite waving and calling. All in all, I don't need this again!

Eine freundliche Begrüßung und die Einrichtung sorgen von Anfang an für eine tolle Atmosphäre, fast als besuche man Freunde und das bei unserem ersten Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Die bestellten Getränke kamen schnell an den Tisch und die Aufnahme der Speisenwünsche erfolgte geduldig. Die Gerichte waren schön angerichtet und sehr schmackhaft und...die Teller waren nicht so überladen, wie es sonst beim "Griechen" schon fast üblich ist. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und würden, wenn dort leben würden, wohl überzeugte Stammgäste werden. So muss unser Besuch warten, bis wir mal wieder in der Region sind.

Wir haben hier öfter gegessen und waren stets zufrieden. Leider dieses mal überhaupt nicht. Die Giros habe ich zur Seite geschoben, da richtig fett. Der Wirt erklärte, anderes Fleisch bekommen zu haben. Dann aber hätte er das nicht servieren sollen. Die Preise waren vorher schon recht hoch, aber bisher für gute Qualität akzeptabel. Werden erstmal eine längere Pause einlegen.

Ein echtes Juwel am Hafen! Die Aussicht auf das Wasser ist einfach fantastisch und sorgt für ein ganz besonderes Ambiente. Egal ob man entspannt die Boote beobachtet oder einfach die frische Brise genießt – die Lage ist ein echtes Highlight. Das Essen war ein Traum! Jedes Gericht war mit viel Liebe zubereitet, und die frischen Zutaten haben das Geschmackserlebnis perfekt abgerundet. Besonders die Vielfalt an vegetarischen Gerichten hat mich begeistert. Es ist selten, dass so viel Kreativität und Geschmack in fleischlose Optionen gesteckt wird – jedes Gericht war ein Genuss Besonders „Svista“ , „Kritharoto“ „Kotopoulo Gemisto & „Arni Kleftiko“ haben uns begeistert. Der Service war herzlich, aufmerksam und hat den Abend perfekt gemacht. Wer gutes Essen und eine tolle Aussicht sucht, ist hier genau richtig. A real gem on the harbor! The view of the water is simply fantastic and creates a very special ambience. No matter whether you relax and watch the boats or simply enjoy the fresh breeze - the location is a real highlight. The food was to die for! Every dish was prepared with a lot of love and the fresh ingredients rounded off the taste experience perfectly. I was particularly impressed by the variety of vegetarian dishes. It's rare to see so much creativity and flavor put into meat-free options - every dish was a delight We were particularly impressed by “Svista”, “Kritharoto”, “Kotopoulo Gemisto & “Arni Kleftiko”. The service was warm, attentive and made the evening perfect. If you're looking for good food and a great view, this is the place for you. This restaurant is a must and I look forward to my next visit! Thank you very much for everything 🩵

Delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Were there with a group. The food came to the table at the same time and no one had anything to complain about. I eat there 2-3 times a year, so I can confirm this over a certain period of time. During the tourist season, the timing and time for the guest is of course different... but the quality of the food is the same!

Four of us had dinner there on Saturday evening! We then ordered our drinks and a starter and then only wanted to order three dishes as I wasn't feeling well! But apparently it was a problem! We were treated more than rudely, you couldn't occupy four seats on a Saturday and only order three dishes! Despite the explanation, it wasn't possible, so we ordered a little something extra! We enjoyed the food! When we paid I gave the business card back and I got a slap on the shoulder saying: Leave it alone! An impossible behavior!!!! NEVER AGAIN !

Very friendly, attentive and obliging service, the salad with the meal had a nice light dressing. If anything could be suggested, it would be a little more Greek herbs in the sauce for the baked dish, because otherwise the food was excellent.

Ich hatte Gyros, war top. Bedienung auch sehr freundlich. Ein Stern Abzug für den Sitzplatz. Tisch war sehr klein und durch eine Stütze direkt neben dem Tisch mangelte es an Bein - und Armfreiheit.

We didn't have a reservation and the place was very full. We were greeted very friendly and shown to a table upstairs. The food was very tasty and filling. All three of us were very impressed and can fully recommend Ambrosia.

Wir (2 Personen) hätten gewarnt sein müssen: Um die Mittagszeit waren wir die einzigen Gäste, etwas später kam noch ein zweites älteres Paar. Unsere Bestellung: 1x Gyrospfanne in Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce (€ 19.70), 1x Tzatziki (€ 6,90), 1x Bauernsalat/Choriatiki (€ 13,90) und 2x stilles Tafelwasser 0,3 zu € 6,40. Der Kellner wurde durch unsere Bestellung wohl gestört und nahm diese entsprechend lustlos auf. Überraschend schnell wurde ohne ein weiteres Wort alles auf den Tisch gestellt. Das Tzatziki fanden wir auf einem etwa untertassengroßen Tellerchen mit ca. 3-4 gestrichenen flachen Esslöffeln Tzatziki, einer halben dünnen kleinen Gurkenscheibe und einer Olive. Der Bauernsalat entpuppte sich als ausgesprochen übersichtlich mit einem extrem dünnen und kleinen Käsestückchen und 2 knallharten nicht essbaren Peperoni. Bei Gurken, Tomaten und Zwiebeln kann man ja gottlob kaum etwas falsch machen. In der Gyrospfanne war von Gyros nichts zu sehen, weil alles in der Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce von undefinierbarer Farbe ertränkt war. Aber vielleicht heißt es ja deshalb: IN Knoblauch-Tomaten-Sauce. Leider konnte man dieses Gyros nicht essen, es war an Zähigkeit nicht zu überbieten. Auf Nachfrage hieß es: „Das machen wir seit 100 Jahren so“. Ach so, deshalb so hart, zäh und vermutlich abgestanden? Zur ausgesprochen winzigen Tzatziki-Portion zu immerhin 6,90 wurde zunehmend unwillig gesagt: „Ich kann nicht 1 Pfund Tzatziki geben!“ und weiter: „Du hast doch vorher die Preisliste gesehen!“ Dieser intelligente Einwand blendet völlig aus, dass man anhand des Preises kaum die Portion erkennen kann – schon gemerkt? Und was heißt „DU“? Dummdreiste Ansprache an Fremde und zahlende Gäste ist hier an der Tagesordnung? Und dann wie aus heiterem Himmel knallt uns dieser „Herr“ die Rechnung auf den Tisch mit den Worten: „Du bezahlst jetzt und kommst nie wieder!!“ Da hat doch tatsächlich dieser unerwünschte Gast gewagt, etwas zu fragen! Gibt's das?! Nachdem wir noch eine kurze Zeit am Tisch sitzen geblieben sind, um das „Tafel“-Leitungswasser zu Ende zu genießen, legten wir einen 50-Euro-Schein auf den Tisch. Diesen griff er, rannte weg, kam mit nicht ganz passendem Wechselgeld zurück, knallte es vor uns auf den Tisch und brüllte: „Da, ich geb' Dir sogar noch Trinkgeld!“ Inzwischen war ein anderer Mitarbeiter aufgewacht, der bisher nur am Tresen mit seinem Handy gelümmelt hatte. Ein dritter jüngerer Mann hatte sich mehr oder wenigen erschreckt in eine Ecke in Thekennähe verzogen. Das später erschienene zweite Paar rührte sich nicht mehr. Es ist wirklich nicht zu verstehen: Ein Kellner mit Null Umgangsformen, völligem Desinteresse gegenüber den Gästen, der sich hier aufführt wie die Axt im Wald und extrem schlechtem Benehmen wird auf die Menschheit losgelassen. Wir prophezeien: Weiter so, dann kannst „DU“ den Laden bald schließen. Dieses war wohl kein Einzelfall, denn weitere Gäste waren während unseres Aufenthaltes hier nicht zu sehen. Schlechte Bewertungen sind Internet manchmal mit Vorsicht zu genießen, aber hier sind sie durchaus angebracht. „... und kommst nie wieder!!“ Wenigstens das hat dieser „Kellner“ begriffen. Der Betreiber dieses Ladens sollte sich ganz schnell Gedanken machen, denn zahlende Gäste haben auch in Neustadt und Umgebung genügend andere Auswahl zur Verfügung.

Food was good, could have been a little more salad.

We didn't make a reservation beforehand, but were able to get a nice seat outside. When I asked whether one could get Metaxa sauce instead of tzatziki for a dish, the waiter was a bit annoyed and said that wasn't possible. We could swap a side dish, that wouldn't be a problem, but if it came to sauces the chef would complain. We've never experienced that anywhere before and found it a bit strange. The food itself was really great and we really enjoyed it. The portion size was okay. The meat was sufficient, but we would have liked the side dish to be a little more, but everyone has to decide for themselves.

You can sit outside well, the staff is nice and attentive. I had Meteora plates (gyros, suzuki and souvlaki with fries, tzatziki and salad) and first of all tzatziki. Was delicious.

Unfortunately you won't get enough here. If you ask the staff in a friendly manner, you will only get a mushy answer and as a guest you will be called an idiot. ... I've never had to experience something like that in a restaurant. For me the worst Greek restaurant I have ever visited.

We were very disappointed, although the food was good, we were not impressed by the service. We were four adults and four children and a baby. For every drink we asked who would get it (3 Sprite, 1 Spezi, 1 Cola, 2 Hefew., an alkfr. hefeweizen), as was the case with the food... we had to interrupt our conversations every time to give the waiter the attention he needed . I breastfed my baby and was given a schnapps...🤷‍♀️🙈 Attention works differently. Our 10 year old asked for one Asked for a knife for his pasta, this was commented on condescendingly and a knife was reluctantly brought with a roll of the eyes. The dishes were tasty, but also small, which was rather surprising for a Greek and the price structure (bifteki with rice for €20.70). Our 10-year-old then ordered a children's plate of bifteki to go with his pasta. The plates were then cleared so that we had some, loudly and everything was stacked on top of each other on our table. People smoked at the front door (we sat outside) and then the food and drinks were served. All in all, the food tasted good, but the service was rather poor and lackluster.

Unfortunately we had very bad experiences with this restaurant. After my friend politely criticized that the portion was small, the waiter became unfriendly and extremely abusive and called him an idiot. My friend stayed calm, but the waiter yelled at him and flipped him the bird. And the waiter said that the "eating" had nothing to do with the lunch menu and that it was his own fault that he didn't order anything from the normal menu. The waiter also expected a tip from us. Unfortunately, most of the meat was burnt and you could count the number of fries on your fingers. We are really extremely disappointed and wonder where the good reviews come from. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended!

Overall disappointing although the food was very good. We had reserved a table. We were automatically assigned a table outside. When we politely asked the waiters if we could go inside because the children were cold, they were totally annoyed and stressed. In the end we ate quickly and left quickly. Too bad!

The Greek restaurant, located directly at the harbor in Neustadt, invites you to linger with its large selection of food and drinks. When you look at the menu, you notice that the prices are around 5 euros more expensive than the numerous other Greek restaurants in town. Curious about what the price difference was, we ordered. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the salad. An olive, two slices of cucumber, a quarter of a tomato on a bed of green lettuce, refined with balsamic dressing. It was tasty, but I missed a homemade coleslaw. The plate that was served afterwards didn't stand out either. Fries, meat, tzatziki! That's it! Where is the Greek tomato rice? No decoration. The meat was well seasoned and very tender. Delicious! The fries were too salty for us. The tzatziki forced me to visit the refrigerator at night to quench my thirst with chilled mineral water. Conclusion: It tasted good, but unfortunately I missed some important components of a Greek dish. It will probably be a one-off visit. I wish the Ambrosia team continued success.

**Review:** We were greeted very nicely and immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere right in the city harbor is simply great and the charming building contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately very disappointing. There were three of us there and we were really looking forward to visiting the Greek restaurant. Unfortunately we were very disappointed here. The waiter was very unfriendly right from the start and was reluctant to accommodate our requests (we wanted rice instead of fries and the salad without dressing). He rolled his eyes at the comments and mumbled something in a sullen manner. Well, we could see past that. When my friend's starter came, we were shocked. She had ordered feta cheese with a sauce. The feta cheese was 100% a finished product and unfortunately it didn't taste good at all. Simply fried briefly and sent out to the guest. The sauce had little to do with sauce, unfortunately it was just a slimy mass. Unfortunately, a very sad visit and cannot be recommended. We won't eat here again.

I'm speechless. We spent the weekend in Grömitz with 5 friends and went to this restaurant based on a recommendation. I'm a competitive bodybuilder and currently in preparation (diet) and I knew that I would 100% find something for me here on the menu. It should be a salad with chicken and no sauces/bells and whistles. The waiter was totally unfriendly from the start. When we got our drinks everything was still good. Then I made some extra requests for my salad because I'm on a diet. The waiter didn't like it at all and he made it clear to me with his mood. The other 4 people ordered normal main courses. Then came the girls' appetizers, which were just disgusting. The two of them said this in a friendly manner and wanted to give it back, but the waiter didn't accept that and told us the following: “You know what? Please just leave now" I have never experienced anything like it. We were super friendly and really looked forward to the food. The waiter (we think it was the owner) can't handle criticism. Bottomless impudence. Bad mood staff/service. We went to an alternative in the city center (also Greek: “Eleon”) and of course it was much emptier because of the location, but the staff was super friendly and the food was TOP!

Absolutely bad! There were 6 of us in the restaurant and we had reserved a table in advance. It was way too narrow. When we requested another table or an addition of 1 small table, our request was granted (the waiter was visibly annoyed and overwhelmed). Service so everything else but not good! So much for that… Now about the food: two people ordered an appetizer that was just as bad as the service. It was, or rather should have been, grape leaves with lemon sauce - the rice was mushy and soggy and the sauce looked like goo from the day before. I tried it and kindly brought it inside to the waiter and pointed out that unfortunately the food didn't taste good, I would like to return it and that the two dishes should please be taken off the bill. He then brought the food over and then came back to the table. I explained the situation to him in a matter-of-fact and friendly manner. We were then thrown out of the store in a very unfriendly manner (drinks and cutlery were simply taken away) in front of the entire team. Conclusion: critical ability? Equals zero! Friendliness? Unavailable! Recommended? Absolutely not!

Highly recommended location! Fast and friendly service combined with really great food. I can especially recommend the lamb shank with potatoes, which is cooked in foil in the oven and is beautifully seasoned with oil and thyme. We are vegetarians and have just been to Crete! By far one of the best GREEKS we know with a large and delicious selection of vegetarian starters and main courses! Great service and very nice boss!

We drove by spontaneously without a reservation. After we asked whether a table was available, the waiter looked us up and down and said that a table would still be available until 6:30 p.m. We should have eaten within 50 minutes. Nice place, gyros was good. Unfortunately I was a bit lacking in hospitality.

Unfortunately, the days of being fed up with Greek food are probably over. Manageable portion that looked like a children's plate. I give the second star 🌟 for the good quality of the meat.

Eine Super Küche mit verschiedenen Traditonellen Gerichten! Frisch,schnell und lecker außerdem super ambiente und service. Hier fühlt man sich wohl! Kann man nur weiter empfehlen. Mit dem Deutschland Ticket ein Geiles Erlebniss für ein Wochenende am anderen Ende Deutschlands. Grüße aus dem Ostalbkreis in BaWü. Ich werde wiederkommen!
