Amazing Thai Restaurant in Duisburg

The best Asian restaurant in Germany. And I say that as someone who has already treated themselves to delicious Far Eastern cuisine in every major German city. Nothing here is more authentic Thai. Perfection!!

Free parking is almost always available on Kardinal-Galen-Straße around the corner. My favorite restaurant for about three years now. The service is ALWAYS friendly, no matter how you behave. At lunchtime, you can eat very well for under €20, including a drink. The jungle curry is unbeatable—a wild mix of different meats with rice, vegetables, and so on. And as far as spiciness goes, there are no limits if you want it that way.

Great food, attentive and friendly service... I think we've finally found our "regular Thai restaurant" here in Duisburg. Truly authentic Thai cuisine, fresh ingredients – it was a real explosion of flavor!

A small, fine Thai restaurant near the inner harbor, it impresses with its intimate atmosphere and warm hosts. The ambiance is tastefully decorated with Thai art, and the decor is elegant and cozy. All dishes are freshly prepared, and the selection is large and varied. Thanks to the friendly staff, we were able to discover delicious dishes – which culminated in a true explosion of flavors on our plates. An insider tip you'll almost want to keep to yourself: limited seating, short opening hours, so reservations are essential! Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back.

The name says it all! We were truly impressed. It's a small, somewhat dated shop with room for an estimated 25-30 guests. Reservations are definitely recommended; so far, the restaurant has always been full on my visits. The service is very attentive and friendly, with the occasional lighthearted remark – I really like that. I had a Tom Kha Gai soup as a starter. The soup tasted absolutely delicious, and thanks to the generous garnish, I was almost full afterward. Afterward, I opted for a Pad Med Muang (a dish with roasted cashews and duck), which was truly delicious. The wait for the food is absolutely normal, and the price is also very reasonable for what I get. We'll be back!

Starter and main course were great. If you don't like spicy, you can also order the dishes mild. You can also order chillies for re-sharpening. Typical Thai traditional dishes. Price performance is fair.

In my opinion, anyone who writes something negative here is looking for something that I don't think exists. The food is incredibly delicious and actually better than many places in Thailand. You can feel the freshness and quality of the food with the first bite. The price level is definitely appropriate. Not too expensive and not too cheap :-). The atmosphere is authentic and cozy. The staff is very service-oriented, courteous and friendly, so that there are nice conversations at the table. However, it remains to be mentioned that you should only order Thai spicy if you can really tolerate it. We'll definitely be back! :-)

I can only agree with the other reviews. Small negative point: The starters were a bit too expensive for me personally, or the portions were too small. The price-performance ratio for the main courses is significantly better. Happy to come back, Kap!

Wir waren erneut heute hier essen, es war wieder wirklich sehr lecker , alles super frisch, authentisch geiles Thailändisches Essen mit guten Zutaten zu fairen Preisen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Das Servicepersonal ist durchweg freundlich und sehr aufmerksam! Leider war ich satt, da musste ich mir zum Nachtisch nochmal eine Thom Gha Supoe für morgen mitnehmen, die hatte meine Frau und die war Mega! Wir kommen gern wieder!!

Amazing Thai is one of the rare cases where the name lives up to its promise. From the freshness of the ingredients to the balance of flavors and the spices, everything is perfect. Big praise to the chef, because someone here really knows his craft. The waiters are friendly, attentive and respond quickly to my requests. The restaurant is small in size, so I recommend calling ahead to make sure there are still seats available. The ambience is also very nice and gets the maximum potential out of the restaurant. The only drawback for me is the prices, which are slightly higher than the competition. For many dishes this may be reasonable, but for simple dishes like fried rice I find the price to be a bit too high. However, what you get is perfectly cooked fried rice. The restaurant is ideal for those who appreciate Thai food and for those who want to try something new.

Everything was great, the food was great, the staff was great. The only downside: if someone opens the door, people will come in in winter. That makes it a little uncomfortable, but the food and staff more than compensate for that. Highly recommended!

We went to the store with our child and girlfriend. Very dark loading. Looks a bit shabby and gruffy. We still wanted to give the store a chance. We were asked at the door if we had reserved. We didn't. Tables were free without reservation signs. We were rejected. When I went out I called straight away and asked for 3 places (for 2 adults + child (didn't mention the child). I was told they have spaces. Children belong to this world. They belong in our society. Anyone who is so unfriendly to children will not receive any visitors from us on my dating days with my husband and I. Embarrassing, discriminatory and sad

The food is exceptionally good!

Unfortunately the food was only served lukewarm, so it quickly got cold. And this cold food just didn't taste good anymore. The service asked 3 minutes after serving whether everything was OK, but didn't show up again after that.

For me, Amazing Thai is the best address in Duisburg and the surrounding area when it comes to authentic Thai cuisine. The dishes are lovingly designed and taste wonderfully fresh and exotic. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service, which rounds off the successful dining experience.

Unfortunately mixed. First: the service is really good. When it comes to food, it's more of a mix of light and shade: starters were very good, unfortunately we can't recommend the PadThai and the mango for dessert was unaromatic. The prices are definitely too high for what is on offer.

We dined here on a Friday evening. It was busy, but the two waiters were very nice and polite - you don't experience something like that too often. The food was also very tasty - we had 2 wok dishes. The restaurant is also very suitable for people who are not familiar with Thai cuisine. The food was incredibly tasty and we felt completely comfortable. Definitely not our last visit. Amazing Thai ist einfach amazing! Ja, diesen Spruch hört die wunderbare Belegschaft fast jedesmal von mir. Weil ich in der Nähe arbeite, komme ich sehr gerne und häufig in meiner Pause. Die Atmosphäre ist wie ein kleiner Urlaub. Die Tom Kha Suppe ist ein Feuerwerk der Geschmacksinne und das Pad Thai ist ebenfalls wahnsinn. Großer Daumen hoch. Der Service ist besonders hervorzuheben. Zuvokommend und humorvoll. Ich komme sehr gerne hierhin!

War früher unter den Namen golden Elefant wesentlich besser. Es war das trockenste und zäheste Fleisch was ich beim Asiaten hier gegessen habe. Bis darauf dass das Essen 20 € gekostet hat und nicht mal 100 g Fleisch drin waren, also eher eine Suppe mit ein wenig Einlage und Gemüse war alles okay. Das Essen wäre mit 14, 15 € auch noch gut bezahlt gewesen. Schade keine Massagen mehr im Angebot

WOW! Hier sollte man zwar definitiv vorher anrufen und reservieren, aber das ist es genauso definitiv wert! Man sollte aber möglichst kein Problem mit Stichflammen haben, da hier auf relativ kleiner Fläche, häufig am Tisch flambiert wird. Und ganz wichtig: vertraut nicht dem Eindruck, den ihr erhaltet, wenn ihr euch die Legende zu den abgebildeten Schärfegraden anseht. Zuvor: Wir essen beide gerne scharf, beide gerne das Maximum, was man sonst so bei diversen Läden von der Karte bestellen kann, aber hier war es grenzwertig. 3 abgebildete Chilis sollen das Maximum für europäische Gaumen sein und 4 stehen dann für authentisch thailändische Schärfe. Wir hatten ein Hauptgericht ohne Eintrag der Schärfeskale (0 Chilis) und eines mit 2 Chilis. Das ohne Eintrag war von der Soße her bereits spürbar scharf (also wahrscheinlich das Maximum für diejenigen, die nicht so gerne scharf essen) und das Gericht mit den 2 Chilis war an der Grenze dessen, wo es noch scharf und gerade noch nicht schmerzhaft ist. Zugegeben, wir sind außer Übung, aber das hat uns doch vorsichtig gemacht. PS: Laut Bedienung ist die Steigerung der Schärfe nicht linear und der Sprung zwischen 3 Chilis und 4 Chilis sehr groß!
