AMANO Chalet in Berlin

A perfect blend of city life and mountain lodge magic! Our Christmas party at the Amano Chalet was an absolute hit! The elevator ascent turned out to be a surprise: A charming chalet awaited us on the rooftop, exuding a cozy ski lodge atmosphere in the middle of the city. Beforehand, we started with mulled wine and curling in the courtyard, which was perfect for getting everyone in the mood. With real snow and an enthusiastic team, the atmosphere was unique. The food was delicious, the drinks top-notch. The Amano Chalet proved to be the ideal location for our après-ski theme. In short: Everything was fantastic! ⛷🎄🍾

Unfortunately, that was a very sad evening in December 2022, and the company Christmas party was a flop for me. Followed by an expensive cold. But that's no wonder, when the venue is only heated with a large hot air dryer and the back door (to the kitchen) is constantly open, letting in cold air. The starter with homemade bread was rustically delicious. The fact that the melted cheese arrived more or less cold (and somewhat tasteless) with the main course, and that the pot of oil, which was served alongside it—for whatever reason—was set out without a regulator, quickly made it clear that this evening was a fondue amateur affair. It took forever until the cheese was finally edible. Meanwhile, the oil in the other pot was constantly overheating due to the lack of a regulator, and the fuel paste burned out within a very short time. The accompanying bread, meanwhile, had long since gone cold and was inedible. The fact that we were served at an endlessly long, far too narrow table, with correspondingly limited freedom of movement and confusingly cramped space, was almost irrelevant. Anyone who has ever enjoyed a Swiss fondue at the Chalet Suisse in Dahlem will probably just flee. The asking price is typical tourist rip-off!
