Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg in Bergisch Gladbach

I don't understand the hype about this hotel! Yes, the castle is breathtaking! It's now my 5th or 6th stay and the rooms are getting more and more expensive and smaller! 240 EUR a night for a mini room with a hatch from the window…. (Booked standard room, got size single room with double bed) No daylight! Unfortunately, the spa is also getting old and rather dingy. Only the breakfast can convince. Coffee, on the other hand, is absolutely undrinkable. Too bad! If I didn't have to, I would avoid this hotel.

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated. The hotel itself is spacious, and it's not always immediately clear how to get where. The spa was completely overcrowded on the weekend. There are far too few loungers for such a large hotel, and the saunas are designed more for a smaller hotel. The prices for breakfast and drinks are not cheap. The parking fee is €34 per day - we probably could have easily parked nearby on the street.

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic view over Cologne and beautiful rooms as well as a top spa area. Depending on when you book, the price is also very fair for a nice weekend.

Disappointing wellness area looks loud – unfriendly service lady! My family surprised me with a weekend at the Grand Hotel Schloss Bensberg - a beautiful ambience that represents relaxation and luxury. Since I love wellness, I was particularly looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the stay in the wellness area started anything but positive. The employee, Ms. Beate Grümer, reacted extremely condescendingly to my request for a massage. She asked me in a tone as if it was absurd that I didn't know what a massage was. I couldn't understand the context or self-confidence with which she reacted so rudely - it was just disrespectful and inappropriate. When my niece (12 years old) wanted to go to the wellness area, she again treated me in a condescending manner. There were special childhood times that I had no way of knowing, but instead of gently pointing them out to me, she outright made me out to be stupid. There was no apology - just pure arrogance. At least the reception was professional and apologized on behalf of the hotel. But when you pay to stay at such a high-priced hotel, you expect consistently excellent service - especially in an area designed for relaxation and well-being. My conclusion: If you are looking for relaxation, you should give this employee a wide berth, Ms. Beate Grümer, so as not to let it ruin your weekend. This lady has absolutely no business being at reception - perhaps she would be better off in the laundry or the kitchen.

The staff is really friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere in the historic castle. The spa is boutique and relaxing, there are slots for adults only which is important because of the Swimmingpool and surrounding. This guarantees a quiet time to relax, use saunas and pool which is big enough to swim a bit. You can use the elevator in your robe between room and Spa. Did not take breakfast because I dont do breakfast 😉 but looked amazing in a baroque hall. 👍🏼 There are Champagne Brunch Sundays, might go for that at one point because of the beautiful building and a relaxed spa Monday... The town is a bit strange, lots of construction and very 1970s, so stay in the Hotel ☺️✨

Except for the building, absolutely nothing here is 5-star worthy. For the first day we had booked breakfast for 42.00 euros per person. When we arrived in the breakfast room, the receptionist wanted to sit us at a table for two. We explained to her that we wanted to have breakfast with our friends who had to come soon. Her snippy answer: She has to accommodate 200 guests. Um, yeah, okay – that’s her job, after all. Nevertheless, we had to sit at a table for two. Shortly afterwards, our friends were seated in a newly opened but still unheated hall - at a table for four, mind you. About the hotel itself: Maybe 10 to 15 years ago it was worthy of 5 stars, but now it is far from it. The rooms are catastrophically old and anything but modern. Even the simplest technology, such as light switches or the vintage television, only worked sporadically. I expected so much more. I've stayed in 3 star hotels that had more of a 5 star feel than this one.

Unfortunately, things have dropped significantly - disappointing service and lack of goodwill I was a loyal guest of the Hotel Schloss Bensberg for years and really appreciated it for its excellent service and hospitality. Unfortunately, I have to say that the level has noticeably worsened in recent years. I recently had to cancel a booking because I became ill with Covid-19 at short notice. Despite the special circumstances and my loyalty as a regular guest, I was hardly shown any goodwill. Instead, strict reference was made to the cancellation policy without showing any flexibility or understanding. Previously, the hotel was known for its customer focus and efforts to maintain long-term relationships with guests. Today, as a customer, you feel more like a number. The alternative room offered for a later date was also not a real solution as it was again non-refundable. It's a shame that a hotel that positions itself as a luxury hotel shows so little understanding for exceptional circumstances. I hope that management takes this feedback seriously and focuses more on service orientation and customer satisfaction in the future.

Beautiful hotel, great restaurants. There were a few small difficulties during the stay, but the service and employees were quick to take care of them and were very appreciative. The wellness area is not large, but everything is taken care of. You can go on great hikes around the hotel.

We went to the crime dinner event at the castle hotel at the weekend. We were greeted very friendly and the dinner was appropriate for a grand hotel, although the portions could have been a little larger for such an event. The service generally seemed attentive to other guests at our table, but we repeatedly had to ask for attention on our own initiative, which I found unpleasant.

The Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg is simply fantastic! The location in a beautiful castle offers a unique atmosphere. The service is first class, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Particularly noteworthy are the excellent food in the gourmet restaurant and the impressive spa area. A highlight is the breathtaking view of Cologne Cathedral. A perfect place for a relaxing break or a special occasion. Highly recommended! 😍

We spent Christmas at Bensberg Castle. For us it was two very nice days with a small program. The service was very attentive and we were very pampered. The champagne reception began at 6 p.m. before the extensive multi-course menu (fine dining). Anyone who wanted could browse through the very cozy and extensively equipped library or use the beautiful wellness and spa area.

Let me start off by saying.. I can recommend this hotel to everybody in search for a short and carefree get away near Cologne! Pro's: 1. The staff: They are very knowledgeable and super helpful 2. The location: The Schloss and the surroundings are jaw dropping amazing! 3. The food: My girlfriend is vegan and sometimes it's quite hard to get some vegan options. Grandhotel Althoff Schloss Bensberg had a large selection of vegan breakfast, lunch and diner options Con's: It wouldn't be a good review if I had some points of improvement. 1. Just a minor detail, but a Google Chromecast on the TV in the room would be nice, so you can stream your favorite movies and series 2. The amenities in Spa, yes it's amazing and very clean, but it could be improved even more with a cold water plunge bath close to sauna 3. The bed was amazingly comfy, but the pillows were quite flat To close off the review of this amazing hotel, we will definitely will be returning here and recommend to everybody. Also I want to give a large shout out to the interior decorator who decorated the whole hotel with amazing art prints, which are also beautifully framed, by German artists Markus Lüpertz and A.R. Penck. A bold and stunning art statement in this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect close to everything I wanted to see. The breakfast was a nice touch, offering a variety of tasty options. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Cold rooms. Breakfast buffet needs to be supplemented for a 5 star hotel. Crossing in Rottach Egern, however, was great. The wellness areas in both houses have potential to catch up.

Undoubtedly this is a 5*s hotel. I would particularly like to highlight the spa with its excellent facilities and very attractive design. Not a criticism, just a personal opinion that the service seemed a bit formal to me, I would have liked it to be more relaxed. However, the overall attentiveness and friendliness of the service left nothing to be desired. The view over the city is fantastic. Be sure to visit the Vendôme restaurant!

Outstanding Grand Hotel! An old school hotel, with fluffy carpets, large rooms and great service! We used it as a carnival hideaway because we live in the middle of Cologne city center and we weren't disappointed! Great ambience, excellent staff, punctual and reliable room service, nice rooms, pleasant SPA area and good restaurants (unfortunately we weren't in the Vendome because it was a closed day). The surroundings with the forest are also really inviting. We will find refuge there again for the next carnival!

We were there for an award ceremony. The service and food are very luxurious. I felt very comfortable.

Very friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner at a very high level. Unfortunately, there were a lot of screaming children in the wellness area even after children's time (2 p.m. - 4 p.m.), that was the only drawback of our stay. In the Salvador Dali Bar we were pampered to the highest standard by the staff on Saturday evening, so despite the not-so-great wellness experience, a 5-star rating is appropriate.

Top hotel near the city of Cologne - the name says a lot about the facilities and quality of the rooms.

Prices like in Switzerland - service like at the North Pole. We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately we were disappointed. When we arrived at 9 p.m. there was already a warm welcome - there was no one to help us with our luggage. We had to bring our extensive luggage to a room in the south wing ourselves. There were dirty plates and bottles in the hallway that hadn't been put away for several days. Our suitcase trolley also remained untouched in the hallway for three days. Even when I left, the bellman stood next to my female companion and didn't even ask if he could help with the luggage. These are conditions like in a very cheap hotel. Unfortunately, the room itself was not in the condition one would expect in this category. The bathroom tiles around the toilet were not clean and the door was sticky and damaged. In addition, the sink was clogged. The spa area, which we were looking forward to, was visually beautiful, but the waterfall was broken and had an unpleasant smell, which spoiled our stay in the spa. The relaxation rooms were also a bit too cool for our taste. Even when eating there was light and shadow. The dinner in the Enoteca was tasty, but the service was unfriendly and hectic. The breakfast was particularly disappointing, as it was completely overpriced at 42 euros per person. For this price we would have expected exceptional service, but instead we had to ask several times for egg dishes, which were also charged extra. Overall, the service was not at the level you would expect in a five star hotel. Despite its grand appearance, the lobby felt cold and impersonal, which was exacerbated by the lack of staff and the crooked candles in the chandelier. Small details, such as weeds in the joints of the entrance area, show that there is a lack of care - especially where the very first glance falls. Overall, the hotel lacked warmth and proximity, which is disappointing for a hotel in this price range and category. On a positive note, the hotel was accommodating after our complaint and removed breakfast from the bill. However, this couldn't make up for our overall disappointing stay. We won't be coming back.

The champagne brunch is a dream 🤩 Not cheap at all, quite the opposite, but difficult to find again as an experience. Oysters and champagne all you can eat/drink alone are tempting, but additionally seasonal classics such as roast beef and asparagus (end of May) of the highest quality as well as many other delicious snacks and desserts entice you to extend your stay as long as possible 😉 We're coming up definitely again!👌

The hotel itself is really beautiful! A grand hotel straight out of a picture book, inside and out! In my opinion, there is much more to the 5S classification... Our room was not ready upon arrival. So we go to the lobby bar for coffee and cake. Prices are borderline, but the service is not attentive but very friendly. Since no one told us that our room was now ready, we went to reception at 4 p.m. and got our key. Luggage was behind the reception and wasn't in the room yet, so I took it with me. Dinner at the Enoteca as Vendome was fully booked, it was your own fault. Atmosphere, service and cuisine top. Price levels, especially for wines, are again very borderline. Going to the pool at 7:15 a.m., unfortunately everything was dark and locked 15 minutes after opening time. I went to reception in my bathrobe and it was unlocked with the central key. Classically beautiful breakfast room but busy and medium tables very close to each other. The selection and quality is top, but there is an extra charge of 20 euros for Eggs Benedict, honestly!? Guests wearing shorts, flip-flops and Kiev jerseys at breakfast with overloaded plates, most of which were simply thrown back, didn't necessarily contribute to the feel-good factor. Long story short… Respectable hotel with consistently great cuisine. However, for the price level and 5S classification, there were too many negative “little things” so that the feel-good factor did not develop as expected.

Dear hotel team, We don't know who was responsible for upgrading our room to Suite 511, but we are very, very grateful and it was an impressive experience that they let us enjoy this suite. A great suite! Thank you very much for this. In the Vendome restaurant, we were particularly impressed by Mr. Christoph Strahl with his very extroverted, friendly manner towards his guests! He really anticipated every wish and convinced them with his know-how. He called me the week before our arrival and discussed all the intolerances with me. Simply impressive service! We felt incredibly valued and incredibly comfortable there. And the food was once again unbeatable!!! The massages were excellent, very relaxing, and a visit to the LEICHT jewelry store in your house was successful. Thank you for this wonderful weekend in your house, we will definitely be back. Perfect location. Great ambience, very tasty food, very attentive and friendly service. A perfect day.

We used this hotel as a stopover on our route to the Netherlands when we passed Cologne on the highway. Nice place to relax, just outside busy Cologne. The hotel is located in an old castle, which makes it a special place. The spaces are large, rooms are beautiful and have high ceilings, which makes it more spacious. The staff is friendly and speaks both German and English. The valet parked our car in the underground parking garage. Please note that parking costs €34 per day and is not included in the room rate. The evening we arrived we ordered room service, which is open until 10:00 PM. We did not have breakfast in the morning as breakfast was €42 per person, which we found on the pricey side. Breakfast can also be delivered to the room. The spa was very nice, there were saunas, a steam room and a hot tub. There is also a rest room and a gym. The swimming pool and sauna area was slightly smaller than we expected. The pool water was also on the lukewarm side. We really relaxed there. We thought the price-quality ratio of this hotel was very good. There are hotels in the same class where you can easily pay twice as much.

It's a good hotel.Aircon and WiFi broke down the first night, after that went pretty smoothly. Very friendly staff. It's an impressive building, nice spa, not particularly central. If you get it at a good price then worth a look but not at five star prices.

As expected, but nothing more. Our stay in August 2023 was pleasant, but did not quite meet our subjective expectations for a house of this category. The rooms and the service were decent, but the personal touch was missing. Check-in was friendly but impersonal. The room, a junior suite, was clean, but seemed a bit cramped due to the sloping ceilings and the dark furnishings. The breakfast was of good quality, but the selection didn't quite correspond to what we expect from a grand hotel. Overall, a pleasant stay with no complaints, but also without the feeling of special service. The difference to a good 4-star hotel was not noticeable. Overall 3.5 stars, generously rounded up to 4 stars.

This place is just amazing. If anything, the reality is actually better than the pictures. I've never been anywhere like it - the building is unbelievable, the interior is pristine, service was great. Truly a unique place and I couldn't believe the price. I was attending a conference in Cologne and although it's outside the city itself it was easy to get in by driving and by using the tram. Definitely recommended if you are looking for somewhere in the region, especially if you have a car.

After we had already been to Bensberg Castle three times and were thrilled by the great location and the service, we paid the hotel another visit after a break of 1.5 years on the occasion of our mini honeymoon after our civil wedding in April this year. Unfortunately, we weren't nearly as satisfied as before. The service has deteriorated significantly and nice features such as the evening service or the morning newspaper service have been completely abolished. There was a really bad, stale smell coming from our bathroom. When we told reception, they wanted to put us off until the next day. After a short discussion, someone took care of it that day, but on the day of departure the smell was almost as strong as when we arrived. It's a shame, we won't be coming back any time soon.

You can expect more from a 5 1/2 star hotel. Mold and limescale in the bathroom, bed covers smelled of cigarettes and used glasses/bottles stood around in the hallway for days without being put away. It is difficult to find your way around the hotel. The staff is very accommodating and the food was also very good.

When you book a hotel in a certain price category, you also have expectations. This expectation was greatly exceeded! The castle is incredibly impressive, the great ceiling height, the large windows, the staircases and it feels like every room is individually furnished. The food and breakfast were simply a pleasure. The staff was very accommodating and super nice. An all around perfect stay!

Napoleon's view castle. Government banquets, if they existed. At night the Rhine reflects the urban areas and industry well behind the woods. During Napoleon's time, the Rhine must have led to Amsterdam, Berlin, Leipzig and Venice as a chamber of commerce and work in this last mud hole. Follow the water accumulations... the carriage paths with the tracks that lead into this industrial center have also been preserved. A viewing point reminds us of the mysterious stories of the time on the Rhine.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was enjoyable. However, the overall experience was not up to par with our other 5 star hotel stays both in Germany and in other countries. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and interior including our room. We enjoyed the breakfast and Trattoria Enoteca. The staff was mostly friendly but it generally felt like the hotel was understaffed and unprepared. We were not given a lot of information upon arrival such as breakfast hours or the wellness location. We also experienced very long wait times at the restaurants with orders being forgotten, drinks arriving after food had been served, and felt that the German speaking guests were prioritized. Again, this might’ve been due to understaffing but had this been communicated the wait had been more understandable. Additionally, smaller details that usually are in order at a 5 star level were also missing such as more attentiveness during breakfast + dinner and details we had requested that were forgotten / not communicated by the hotel to the staff in question.

Simply outrageous and bold! We wanted to rent a room for our wedding and do a photo shoot at the castle. 1.) It started out that it was extremely difficult to reach the hotel by phone, either no one answered or you stayed on hold for ages. 2.) The employees are poorly or not at all informed about prices or what is offered or allowed in the hotel. 3.) There was NOT a call back! Called 7 times each time with different information regarding prices and conditions. First it was said that a photo shoot was possible if you booked a room, then it was said not possible. Photo shoot possible for 4 hours maximum with 4 people 500€ 😂 They advertise this hotel for free and charge money even though you book a room, an extra 500€ for 1 hour Shoot. This is just ridiculous and a rip off! At the end after the third day we were even canceled and suddenly there were no rooms available. Leave it alone and go to Brühl Castle 🏰

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure to get married at the Standesamt in room Zanetti as part of the magical Schloss Bensberg in June 2024. We were completely amazed by the outstanding venue, service, and cuisine. Our guests were in awe for the entire day. We can fully recommend getting married at this stunning baroque palace with an incredible view of the Cologne Dom. Thank you to Benedikt Jaschke and Andrea Kuttenkeuler for this unforgettable day!

Simply debited twice. That doesn't work at all

Overall a nice stay. The location is really great and the outdoor area is very well maintained. The staff at the reception was very friendly. However, the rooms are a bit old. The control for the room lighting was unfortunately quite dirty in my room - a small welcome card/a small gift or something similar would perhaps be nice for the guest... instead just a note that a violation of the smoking ban would result in a cleaning fee of €500 guide the guest - I am a non-smoker, but a welcome greeting would be nicer than just a reference to the smoking ban. Unfortunately, the silicone seals in the bathroom were leaking and a bathrobe was apparently not completely clean during cleaning. In addition, two coffee capsules are a bit tight for one room. The really delicious breakfast in the Jan Wellem restaurant is very commendable. The manager of the restaurant seemed stressed and was a bit harsh. The lunch menu was a more than bitter disappointment. The introductory soup tasted primarily of roux. Unfortunately, the main course was hardly edible, the gnocchi were completely overcooked and had absolutely no taste left (they were only lukewarm), the consistency was unfortunately just mushy - you couldn't smell any of the chanterelle filling anymore. The accompanying sauce was also tasteless and cold - overall, the main course lacked any kind of spice or finesse. The dessert came with already melted sorbet and here too there was a lack of flavor in the overall composition. Overall, a great location, but unfortunately the restaurant's service was disappointing.

Had an overall pleasant stay at the castle. Beautiful room with a comfortable bed, an inspiring view of the inner courtyard and towards Cologne, minibar included. There are compromises in the cleanliness of the pool (hair in the overflow), which is unfortunately also in the basement and is therefore less inviting to stay in when the weather is good. However, the massage booked at the spa was great! Unfortunately, the breakfast service didn't quite meet the expectations of a 5* grand hotel - on weekdays the offer was noticeably reduced when the number of guests was low (e.g. in the selection of bread), employees were audibly reprimanded for the guests... Therefore, with good will, 4 stars.

In a word fantastic!! Breakfast is pricey, but otherwise just enjoy it. Staff really nice. Wellness, Swimming pool. Beautiful seating areas. Highly recommended

Absolutely magical property. Great rooms, staff are helpful and amazing ambiance all around. They have a great spa which is free for use by guests staying in the hotel. There are two saunas, steam room, cold shower, pool and jacuzzi. We used it every day of our trip! One thing to note is that all food options close at 10 PM including all hotel dining options and room service. You are stranded if looking for food after that. All Resteraunt in the area shut by 10 too.

We went to Bensberg Castle for the first time at Pentecost for the champagne brunch. The brunch is worth the price, especially the Chamagner rose. After we were so excited, we decided to book the Eatalian Afterwork directly with an overnight stay and we were able to convince a married couple to come with us, even though we live within a 30 km radius. At first you think it's all small "portions" but they are of very high quality. Small, fine and filling, simply fantastic. We had a wonderful evening. All employees from the front office to service are all very friendly and helpful. Bensberg Castle has its price, but it is worth it. We will book the Spanish Barbeque next. Criticism on a high level, the outdoor areas could be beautified with flowers and the gravel surface needs to be cleared of weeds. Doesn't really fit the castle. We are definitely fans of Bensberg Castle.

Schloss Bensberg is a fantastically beautiful hotel. You can stay there in super luxury. Room prices are fairly high, but they are fairly normal prices in this quality and class. Very good cuisine, for the gourmet. Delicious and certainly beautiful terrace outside where we could enjoy our very extensive breakfast and enjoy the beautiful view. You can look down through the Valley to Cologne, where you can see the Cathedral rising above it. Oh yes, there is no shortage of exotic cars. Beautiful! Always weeder!

Very relaxed atmosphere and great rooms

I don't have good memories of the restaurant. The four of us ate there a few years ago and let each other try our dishes. Whatever you do, I think it's normal. After the meal and of course after the bill, we received an envelope with a note asking us not to visit the restaurant in the future. How much arrogance lies behind such a gesture? Later I played as a saxophonist at an Italian wedding in the same establishment, where the guests from all over the world were dismayed by the poor and cold pasta dishes. That's what I can say about the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg. I never really write negative reviews, but in this case two stars is almost one too many.

Nice atmosphere, very good food, varied breakfast. The rooms could be a bit more modern, but are in great shape and clean, as you would expect.

As always, a wonderful stay! Our highlight was the consistently very friendly and courteous staff, especially Mr. Koop, who looked after the guests with incredible warmth even late in the evening/night. We'll be back soon!

Hotel that met all my expectations. The facilities, the quality of the food, excellent service, a beautiful wellness facility, rooms (the toilet needs better cleaning) with all comforts, free spacious underground parking and everything else you could wish for can be found here. This hotel is definitely recommended. Thank you for this wonderful stay.

Fantastic hotel with lots of benefits, really enjoyed our stay!

A great location!!! Attentive, polite staff!!! Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the lobby bar. Unfortunately, our pot of premium tea came without any accompaniment, i.e. rock candy, sugar, milk or lemon. Without being petty, I would actually expect that at 16 euros per jug.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in this marvellous Schloss. The service is amazing, the breakfast extraordinary. A treasure of architecture all in one place. We stayed in a junior suite on the upper floor. This shows us a beautiful view of the entrance. The spa is small but gives you everything you need to relax yourself (3 sauna’s, a jacuzzi and a pool). They provide towels. You will find robes and slippers in your room. We parked down the street, which is free of charge. This Schloss is located just 25 min from Kôln and 40 min from Bonn. Perfect distance for a visit. We would recommend this Schloss to everyone, absolutely worth it!

After four wonderful days at the Schlosshotel Bensberg, we are well rested and relaxed and still have experienced and enjoyed a lot. A visit to Joachim Wissler's 2-star restaurant Vendôme is particularly noteworthy. A fireworks display for the palate and the eye, a fantastically coordinated wine accompaniment and an accompaniment of non-alcoholic delicacies rounded off the evening into an unforgettable experience. In our opinion, the Vendôme restaurant deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. We really liked the castle hotel with its stylish interior, as well as the courteous service in the bar and at the reception. Absolute disappointment! The fact that the room is not ready until 4 p.m. for the planned check-in from 3 p.m. and that you have to sit in the lobby with your luggage is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this class and unfortunately has nothing to do with luxury. Never again!!!

Really a beautiful hotel with great facilities. The breakfast was wonderful, very tasty and huge in terms of choice. Great service and there is also a beautiful spa area for relaxation and wellness. A great hotel to enjoy beautiful moments.

I only saw it from outside. The location and the view is scenic. Can be a good location for wedding parties or some other gatherings.

My review only refers to the champagne brunch. It was an absolute experience. The dishes were all very tasty and, as far as I can tell, of very high quality. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Given the price, I'm not sure I'll repeat this experience again. But overall it was a wonderful Sunday.

First of all, the majestic entrance to the hotel impresses. When you arrive, the car is parked and the concierge brings the suitcases to the room. The rooms are nicely furnished, the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast buffet also offers a wide selection. The beautiful garden invites you to stroll and enjoy a glass of champagne. The highlight is of course the Vendome restaurant with exquisite cuisine and great service. A short detour to Cologne rounds off the visit. We'd love to come back!

We had a magical team time. The service was very courteous and even special requests were fulfilled without any problems. Overall, a very nice afternoon!

Simply super good. Service is more than excellent in all respects, every wish is fulfilled, and a solution is always found immediately for minor problems that can arise. Breakfast and all restaurants are highly recommended. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Rooms are of course very good. The place is nice, not too big, you can go hiking or cycling in the area. We were there for a weekend. But you can certainly stay for a week without getting bored. Cologne is at the door.

For our year together, my boyfriend had arranged a weekend away to this beautiful fairytale destination... amazingly beautiful from A to Z. To experience it yourself is to experience a great experience yourself...would love to come back again❤️💍

It's a bit far from Köln , but the hotel is grand, breakfast is quite delicious and luxurious. All in all, an amazing place

Very nice hotel/castle complex with an interesting historical background. Everything was very well maintained, clean, special, high quality. The room was good. The breakfast was rich and tasty. Only the scrambled eggs looked like a finished product or powder. Recommended: 1) The beautiful and clean wellness area with, among other things, steam and Finnish sauna, small swimming pool, fitness room with a view of the swimming pool, several relaxation rooms, etc. 2) The Italian restaurant Trattoria Enoteca

We took a break for a few days and have to say that Schloss Bensberg was the ideal place to relax. Friendly and helpful people everywhere, very tasty food and despite the fact that we experienced a downside on the last evening we were there (due to a shortage of staff, it turned out that not a single bar was open in the hotel in the evening). However, this was conveniently resolved by the people at the reception (Sophie Gebels and Lennard Amerling - who, by the way, made his first martini espresso for me and it was perfect) by providing drinks to the people at the reception bar themselves. This meant that this problem was quickly forgotten. We will definitely come back here!

After more than 30 years in hotels, this time I am a guest in this wonderful castle hotel. A place worth experiencing, full of history, history and exclusivity. There is simply nothing to complain about here. The entire castle including the rooms is in a clean and well-maintained condition. The staff is calm, friendly and confident. If I could afford it, I would want to live here permanently.

Very nice hotel! The hotel is in fantastic condition and there is no corner that is not well maintained. Exterior, garden, lobby, common areas, spa, rooms! The rooms are very nice and the staff is very accommodating and nice. Late check-out until 2 p.m. was possible for me free of charge. The spa is really very nice! The hotel bar has a great pianist for a nice night out on Saturday evenings. I'm very satisfied. Best regards Vincent of Clanner

I stayed in this hotel for the first time in 2002 and was there with my children and because they were so excited about the beautiful hotel, I spontaneously decided to surprise the children and my partner with two beautiful rooms and the stay was very pleasant for us After that I stayed in this beautiful hotel a few more times. Unfortunately, the data from my stays have not all been saved. I now need a room again and am staying from February 17th to February 18th. I was there and tried everything possible to book online. That didn't work at all. Then I called again on February 17, 2024 in the morning, after I had spent some time recording the evening before to reserve a room. In retrospect, I did what was promised to me on Saturday morning after no one called me back. I had an adequate employee on the phone who finally took care of my concerns to my complete satisfaction. For me, she was a competent lady who had empathy and took her time and, as already mentioned, she did everything right and I give her, like the other employees at the reception, five stars + Only the room wasn't what I normally get from this hotel What I was used to wasn't even close to what I had imagined and I've spoken of this hotel like that before. That was a disappointment for me because I told a very dear friend and gave her this stay and I embarrassed myself, she comes from the hotel industry and runs a hotel on the island of Sylt. I said to her, you'll be amazed at what a great hotel this is.

On a rainy afternoon for tea with cake in the lobby; plush, quiet, cozy atmosphere with a piano player, good cake, friendly service! It has its price, but we felt wonderful for an hour😂
