Good restaurant, good welcome and delicious food too.

After a long spell of miserable weather, we drove yesterday in great spirits with our Bernese mountain dog to the Gimbte, a place we remember so well from our student days, in beautiful sunshine. We first went for a run in the wonderful weather and then stopped in to enjoy coffee and cake, and to round off the day with some delicious game. WE DIDN'T GET THERE. Two guests in the restaurant who were waiting for their drinks—there were no others there—responded to my question as to whether our Paula could come in. They replied that our Paula could certainly sit between our two tables. The innkeeper came and politely asked if our calm, but very well-behaved dog could come in, but we received a somewhat brusque refusal... Despite the sunshine, I left the apparently only open restaurant feeling a bit "dejected." THE INN IS NOW RECEIVING A LIFETIME REFUSION FROM US. HOSPITALITY IS A DIFFERENT THING.

Very tasty schnitzel and salads. The fried potatoes are also excellent. The senior waiter served us and it was a pleasure. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately I can't judge the food because when we entered through the tavern door after waiting half an hour for it to open, we were told: dogs don't come in here. There is no such notice either on the internet or on the entrance door.

Das Alte Wirtshaus Kaltefleiter ist ein Traditionsunternehmen im Herzen der Münsterländer Parklandschaft mit gutbürgerlicher Küche, die für ihre Wildgerichte und Münsterländer Küche bekannt ist. Im angeschlossenen Hotel finden u.a. Radler ihr Nachtquartier. Eine Ladesration für E-Bikes ist vorhanden. Die Terasse bietet Schatten bei Kaffee/Kuchen oder einer kühlen Erfrichung wie Altbierbowle. Das Wirtshaus Kaltefleiter hat eine Backlizenz und bietet immer Freitags selbstgebackenes Brot, Brötchen und Kuchen an. Eine Tichreservierung ist ratsam. Wir sind Stammgäste und mögen den Charm des Wirtshauses.

Gutes und leckeres Essen Empfehlung

Der erste Eindruck auf der Terrasse: viele Reservierungsschilder auf den Tischen und keine Gäste. Preis für ein Weißbier mit 5,60 € etwas hoch. Der Kellner war freundlich, hatte aber eher ein gemütliches Arbeitstempo.
