I went to the “Alten Steinhaus” with my girlfriend for her birthday and we ordered a grill plate for two. Unfortunately the portion was quite small for the price, the meat was cold and the chicken was even raw. An absolute no-go! We also sat extremely closely, almost on the laps of neighboring tables, which made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. As compensation we were offered something on the house, which was meant nicely but couldn't save the overall experience. The service was attentive and friendly, but unfortunately it was the first and last time for me in this restaurant. An absolutely disappointing experience.

Spanish restaurant in the Altes Steinhaus is a good address for tapas, steaks and fish dishes. In summer there is always outdoor seating available. The staff is attentive and friendly, the quality of the authentic food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Parking spaces within walking distance in the parking garage (charges apply). Reservation is recommended!

Rustic atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. Many dishes, some very tasty, others very weak or a bit too tough (rabbit). Good price/performance ratio.

Spontaneously got a table on Saturday evening. It was busy, but we were served friendly and quickly. The drinks came with olives, bread, butter and aioli. The tapas plate for two people was very tastefully prepared. Afterwards we were already very full. We couldn't manage our vegetarian dishes anymore and took them with us as a doggy bag. I had the patatas arrugata. Well, can't get close to the Canary Islands. Maybe it's the size of the potatoes. This isn't meant to be a criticism, it tasted good. But the expectation is different. Would love to come back. But then smaller portions. 😋

Whatever the weather, you can enjoy the outstanding cuisine outdoors under large umbrellas. A very special gourmet experience at fair prices in the middle of the city!

Very nice old atmosphere in the middle of Ratingen city center. Good Spanish food with a sufficient selection. Price performance absolutely ok!

Friends made us aware of this and through a chance appointment in Ratingen we discovered that they also serve lunch from 12 p.m. It was super tasty and the staff was extremely friendly. We can only warmly recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back.

The three of us went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. Very attentive and friendly service staff and the food was extremely tasty. We had lobster soup from the lunch menu as well as several tappas and two desserts. I've actually eaten much worse in Spain. This restaurant is really recommended and we will definitely come back there!

I was completely impressed by the Altes Steinhaus in Ratingen. The service was warm and attentive, the food was a real treat and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The historic building from 1485 is particularly impressive, giving the restaurant a unique atmosphere. A must for anyone who loves Spanish cuisine and historical places!

The steak was the worst I've ever been served. Servies tried hard. Toilets, best not to use them.

Nice atmosphere, very good Spanish dishes, lots of choice of tapas and main courses. Very friendly staff who chat with the guests despite the hectic pace and stress. People work there with heart and passion.

The food was great! The staff were very friendly.

Very friendly service, the food was one of the best Spanish we have had, even in Espania. The only thing that was noted was that the grilled cuttlefish starter was grilled like the sole of a shoe. A schnapps would have balanced things out here.

The selection of food is good, the salad I ordered was nicely prepared, but unfortunately not completely fresh. The lamb's lettuce was rather mushy. The tapas were good. Unfortunately, as the evening progressed, an extremely unpleasant smell of burning food developed in the restaurant. When you left you smelled like you were being smoked. The service wasn't very attentive either.

Nice restaurant in a historic atmosphere. Service good, prices reasonable. About the food: The papas arrugadas with vegetables were none. Instead of wrinkled potatoes, large potato quarters were served. However, they tasted very good. The Steinhaus salad was beautifully prepared and tasted good, but the canned corn has no place in a good salad. Overall, definitely recommended

I went here for dinner during the week and it was completely full. No wonder, because the food is really delicious. The vegetarian paella in particular was a poem. The restaurant is spread over several floors and you can sit comfortably and quite close to each other. Reservation is recommended.

Leider eine Vollkatastrophe. Nichts frisch, schmuddelig, zu teuer für die Qualität. Schade für das Ambiente / Haus. Das hat mit gutem spanischen Essen leider nichts zu tun.

Unfortunately everything was warmed up and completely soaked in oil. Also a bit dingy...I don't understand how the good reviews come about here. It's a shame for the otherwise beautiful old house. Unfortunately we can't recommend it.

Quaint restaurant in the oldest stone house in Ratingen, great menu, food very tasty, super friendly service.

We came across this restaurant by chance and it was just intended as a stopover at the airport. The atmosphere of the old stone house is of course a dream. The menu is very varied, we ate tapas, they were all delicious, very spicy, which may not be to everyone's liking. The service was impeccable. If it weren't so far away, we would come more often.

I was there with my better half and we were both pretty impressed. The food was great, the service and the ambience was perfect... I have to admit, nothing special from the outside, but what awaited us there was convincing...

We tried two warm tapas: Spanish omelet and baby peppers. For the meat dish we had rump steak and lamb chops. The meat was very tender and aromatic. It was a very tasty meal with friendly service. We would like to come back soon and recommend it to others. By the way, on weekends or public holidays you should reserve a table in advance.

Everything was perfect except for parking

Great Spanish restaurant on several floors. The service was very courteous, always on hand and funny. We stayed there for a few hours and the food was really great! Always my pleasure.

Delicious tapas and wines in a cozy atmosphere. There is also a selection of steaks combined with sides and salsa. Palleas are offered in different variants. We enjoyed it and had a lovely evening. Thank you.

Delicious, solid Spanish food. The atmosphere is more like a middle-class tavern. The restaurant is therefore not barrier-free (many stairs). The service is very attentive and friendly. The food and the house wine were delicious and fresh. Priced okay too. Absolutely to suggest.

Food was good so far, service from the boss was rather unfriendly and bored. Does not accept wishes or is disinterested. The young lady as a service person, on the other hand, is very friendly and helpful. The boss gives you the feeling that you are not really welcome as a customer. Or maybe he would prefer a different audience. Drinks, including filled wine glasses, are brought to the table “coolly” in one hand diagonally and diagonally; perhaps a tray would be a little more elegant. Baguettes etc. are rather reluctantly placed on the table in advance. It's a shame, we can do more with it.

War heute mit meiner Freundin dort essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Service war freundlich. Aber!!!!! das Geländer an den Treppen war total verklebt und speckig. Die Toiletten waren tiefste Schublade. Eine Toilette war ganz zu und die 2. war ecklig. Ein dicker brauner Streifen war in der Toilettenschüssel und der Toilettendeckel war zu klein. Das muss unbedingt geändert werden!!!!!!

Steak war lecker und geröstete Zwiebel Kamm trocken und verbrannt. Auf meine Beschwerde wurde nicht reagiert.Schade vorletzten Jahr war besser.

Man fühlt sofort wohl, wenn man dieses Lokal betritt. Die Produkte sind frisch, sehr lecker und schmackhaft. Einzig und allein der wahrscheinlich baulichbedingte Dunst- und Geruchsabzug aus der Küche, der leider die 3 Restaurationsebenen durchströmt, ist ein ein wenig störend, tat dem Wohlbefinden aber keinen Abbruch. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Mein zweiter und letzter Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Gründe: 1. es kann nicht sein, dass man nach einem Restaurantbesuch alle, wirklich alle Kleidungsstücke in die Wäsche geben und sich selbst unter die Duschen stellen kann. Darüber hinaus brennen einem nach drei Stunden Aufenthalt die Augen; 2. nach der Bestellannahme kam der Service nicht mehr, um nach weiteren Getränkewünschen zu fragen, man musste darum bitten; 3. die Vorspeisen kamen sehr schnell (wahrscheinlich, um den Gast mal zu beschäftigen), der Zeitabstand bis zum Hauptgang war deutlich zu lang, inakzeptabel. Das Argument: „die Küche hat gerade sehr viel zu tun“ interessiert mich dabei überhaupt nicht. Gute Gastronomie organisiert das! 4. Ich bezweifle, dass die Hummersuppe, die ich als Vorspeise hatte, zu 100% Eigenproduktion ist. 5. Am Ende kam die übliche Nummer, die vorangegangene Nicht-Leistung mit einem Digestif auszubügeln. Sorry, aber das will ich nicht für eine Rechnung über € 185,00 für 4 Personen, ich will die korrekte Gegenleistung dafür. 6. Meine drei Begleiter hingegen hat der Gestank nicht gestört, und Ihnen hat es geschmeckt. Immerhin eine Quote von 75% Zufriedenenheit.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Wir kommen wieder. Negativ: Küchengerüche empfangen den Gast, sobald er eintritt. Wenn man Lokal verlässt, stinkt die Kleidung echt unangenehm.

Nettes Personal und leckeres Essen.

Sehr gutes Restaurant in einem schönen historischen Haus in der Ratingen Innenstadt. Die Tapas sind sehr lecker aber besonders hervorzuheben sind die Steaks in diesem Restaurant. Der Service ist freundlich und bemüht. Leider ist manchmal die Luft mangels schlechter Lüftung aus der Küche nicht so gut.

Super leckeres Essen, sehr netter Service. Manchmal ist es schon schwer einen Tisch zu bekommen. Drinnen wie draussen sitzt man sehr gut. Sehr nettes Personal.

Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und die Kellner:innen sind freundlich und aufmerksam. Was uns gar nicht gefallen hat: Wir saßen im EG und haben stetig warme Getränke bestellt, weil die Eingangstür die Kälte rein lässt und es auch auf der Etage keine Heizung gibt (?). Die Toiletten könnten sauberer sein (jemand hat schon "Sau" auf den eingestaubten Mülleimer geschrieben).

Ein sehr schönes, spanisches Restaurant mit tollen Tapasvariationen und Teller Gerichten. Vor allem die warmen Tapas sind besonders zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Der Service absolut toll, ich habe bisher keinen besseren Service erlebt wenn ich mehr als zwei Daumen hätte ich würde alle drücken. Das Essen war gut, ist aber bei dem was ich gegessen habe ein wenig zu bemängeln, was beim nächsten mal mit Sicherheit besser wird. Wer hier Essen geht kann ich jedenfalls empfehlen.

Reserviert für 2 Personen. Engagiertes und hochmotiviertes Personal umsorgte uns perfekt während unseres Abendessens.👍 Auch als ein Handy Akkuschwäche zeigte wurde uns sofort mit einem Ladekabel geholfen und es an der Theke augeladen. Das Essen war hervorragend, die Steaks auf den Punkt zubereitet. Es gab nichts auszusetzen, ein tolles Restaurant das wir gerne wieder besuchen werden 🤩

Super leckeres Essen. Rumpsteak auf den Punkt gebraten. Fleich geschmackvoll und butterweich. Ich freue mich beim nächsten Mal schon auf euer Entrecote.

Zwei mal versucht... Essen durchaus gut, aber der Service ist wirklich schlecht.

Wir haben im Alten Steinhaus einen schönen Abend verbracht. Gute Atmosphäre, hervorragendes Essen und ein immer aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Mein Entrecôte war das Beste an das ich mich erinnern kann. Super Qualität und auf den Punkt zubereitet. So muss das sein!
